From the "I wish I could say only from California" department - Online headline: "Jerry Brown Signs Bill Allowing Illegal Immigrants to Vote" -- Supreme Court.. WHERE ARE YOU!

---
Online headline: "El Nino to ease drought, but could also wreak havoc * Scientists say California will finally have a much needed wet winter, but it could end up facing chaotic -- and possibly deadly -- storms. can't be any worse" -- "chaotic..and possibly deadly..storms"? Well, it certainly can't be any more chaotic as Governor Brown's laws he's signed or any more deadly that the "sanctuary cities" that already exist..

---
Online headline: "News outlet slams Iran for convicting its reporter * The Washington Post criticized the country for finding Jason Rezaian guilty of espionage on Monday, calling it an 'outrageous injustice.' -- Hmmm, well, the WaPo certainly was agreeable with Iran on "the deal", so why is the WaPo upset over this?

---
Hey, let's offer Bergdahl in trade for the journalist Iran has imprisoned!

---
Online story: " A 16-year-old Oklahoma boy will stand trial as an adult in the stabbing deaths of his parents and three siblings, a judge ruled Monday, rejecting a request by defense attorneys to certify him as a juvenile delinquent or youthful offender. * Michael (_*_) and his 18-year-old brother Robert (_*_) are charged with first-degree murder in the July 22 deaths and have pleaded not guilty. * Attorney Rob Nigh said he would appeal Special Judge Martha Rupp Carter's decision to the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals and, if necessary, the U.S. Supreme Court. * "He's a child," Nigh said after Monday's hearing. "The reality of the situation is we should not have children going to the state penitentiary." -- Good grief.. I think the judge should order the attorney to bunk with the (_*_)-brothers and the set of knives they used until the trial and all appeals are over.

HuffPOOPOO "headlie": "Scientist Discovers The World's Smallest Free-Living Insect" -- "discovers"? .. Hmmm.. maybe finally noticed, but ....

---
I haven't decided whether Utley playing or not playing was the smart thing for the Dodgers to do last night.. The slide he made to take out the Mets player was akin to someone hitting a basketball player while he's going up for a lay-up, a defensive tackle clothes-lining a running back, or a street thug playing the
"knock-out" game. Utley not playing last night when he "technically could" pretty much means he will not be effective as a player for the Dodgers the rest of the series as somebody on the Mets will get the pound of flesh Utley owes.

---
That uncalled for assault made by Utley is not part of "the game".. Playing hard is, but playing dirty is not. Did you know that a batter is obligated to try to avoid being hit by a pitched ball? (Rule 6.08(b)-2) Why aren't coaches who tell a batter to "lean into a pitch..take one for the team" summarily dismissed from baseball.. I have personally seen/heard this happen in a Little League game.. That coach never coached again in our Little League, but another took him in knowing the facts.

---
Online headline: "PLAYBOY COVERS UP Mag says it will stop publishing female nudes" -- Now we will see if the articles will draw readership...(wink).. You know, with cellphone selfies and sex-messaging, what celebrity has any shock value at posing nude anymore?

---
Online headline: "NO MORE PIGGING OUT Administration chops pork from federal prison menu" -- You know.. this is purely a Islam religion play.. now, are prisons going to have to comply with "kosher" requirements for Jewish prisoners,  or Indian prisoners going to want beef stricken from the menus as well? I got it.. let's just go back to bread and water for all prisoners, and maybe they will make better efforts not to break laws when they get out.

Yesterday, I wrote this to our Council and Mayor , and copied members of the L-E, WRBL, and WTVM:

"Has anyone on Council thought about the affect of not having the property tax freeze would have made on the Columbus housing market and tax revenues if it were not in place during the last 12 years? Most freeze properties have maintained their tax payments even though their houses lost value which have kept the City pretty well funded under the circumstance.. Had it not been in place.. two things could/would have happened.. property tax revenue would have dropped, then Council probably would have been able to raise the revenue percentages which would probably sent more houses into a tailspin of repos and forced sales at even lower prices which would lead to even less tax revenues."

Mayor TomLYINGson responded:
"Hal - I'm surprised you of all people would suggest that a government ride out a recession on the backs of its citizens struggling the most. Note that a well-constructed tax system doesn't have to make that choice. As for your hypothesis, note that we have a milage cap. I hope this clears up any confusion.

Teresa Pike Tomlinson
Mayor
Columbus Consolidated Government"

Well.. the City of Columbus did such.. how can Mayor TomLYINGson find fault in my revealing of such? *Well.. that's sorta rhetorical since we all know what a Democrat she is) Now, did anyone, whether their home was "frozen" or not, get the City to voluntarily reduce the assessed value of their property during the last 12 years (especially the last  5 or 6 under Queen TT)?

I responded to her:
"Touchy.... and we have an assessment cap voted on by the taxpayers which is the only real protection from politicians who cannot...maybe more like, will not stay within the budget of available known revenues."

Can't wait for her response to this..

From the "this needs to be a standard teaching platform for all economics classes in college" department - Online headline/story: "Seattle CEO who set firm's minimum wage to $70G says he has hit hard times * The Seattle CEO who reaped a publicity bonanza when he boosted the salaries of his employees to a minimum of $70,000 a year says he has fallen on hard times. * Dan Price, 31, tells the New York Times that things have gotten so bad he’s been forced to rent out his house. *  Only three months ago Price was generating headlines—and accusations of being a socialist -- when he announced the new salary minimum for all 120 employees at his Gravity Payments credit card processing firm. Price said he was doing it, and slashing his $1 million pay package to pay for it, to address the wealth gap.* “I’m working as hard as I ever worked to make it work,” he told the Times in a video that shows him sitting on a plastic bucket in the garage of his house. “I’m renting out my house right now to try and make ends meet myself.” * The Times article said Price’s decision ended up costing him a few customers and two of his “most valued” employees, who quit after newer employees ended up with bigger salary hikes than older ones." --  A case book expose of liberalism.. and should be "the case study" at all business schools.. especially at Seattle Pacific University where Price went.

Saw an ad yesterday claiming "premature births" as the number 1 killer of babies. Wonder if that includes the intentional murders by partial-birth abortions?

---
Online story: "Antarctic sea ice has grown to a record large extent for a second straight year, baffling scientists seeking to understand why this ice is expanding rather than shrinking in a warming world. * On Saturday, the ice extent reached 19.51 million square kilometers, according to data posted on the National Snow and Ice Data Center Web site.  That number bested record high levels set earlier this month and in 2012 (of 19.48 million square kilometers). Records date back to October 1978." -- Hmmm.. I guess Algore was too bust to be there for the photo-op.--

---
Online story: ""We've got to have more opportunities for people to present their vision for our country, their plans, and to be held accountable for the positions that they're taking, the path they'd like to take our country on," Tulsi Gabbard, DNC vice chair, said. * Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii says those comments on MSNBC got her disinvited from the Democratic National Committee's upcoming debate." -- Wow! While we often think this, this is "Proof Positive" that to be a Democrat, you must repeat the Party mantra talking points or be excluded...

---
Saw a car ad offering a 15% rebate of the MSRP of 2015 cars... You know...how stupid is GM...expecting someone to jump on a 15% rebate on a vehicle that will depreciate 20% the minute the buyer signs on the bottom line.

---
A homeowners association ordered a mom who placed a Gold Star memorial flag/banner remembering her son on the inside portion of a window in her home. The association said it was an improper and unapproved "window treatment". Not hearing what City this happened in, I scoured my neighborhood to see if she live in it do I could offer my support.

---
The Chamber of Commerce endorsement of Mayor TomLYINGson's tax freeze assault has got to be either illegal or unethical, and should never happen as long as the Chamber is fueled by property tax revenues.

---
Hey, has anybody seen any endorsement by the Harris County Chamber of Commerce to eliminate the Muscogee County tax freeze? I wouldn't be surprised if the Harris County Chamber made a MAJOR donation to support the Mayor TomLYINGson.. it would be a cheap way to promote growth in Harris County.

Jonathan Gruber triple-double extra stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " For the gun nuts: How many lives have been saved by shooting an attacker in self-defense this past year? All guns should be registered, licensed and insured just like automobiles." -- You cannot measure the effectiveness of guns in the home by the number of intruders shot.. even thinking the homeowner is armed will discourage an inrtruder. On the other hand, how many shooting at schools could have prevented if those "Gun Free Zone" signs were removed?lsp, if this stupid LIV believes himself, post a sign in his own yard that he doesn't have any guns in his house.

---
I'm tired of liberal rants about there being too many guns. Personally, I think we gave too many liberals, but I've learned they will always be with us and have learned to  tolerate of them. Liberals would be less anal retentive if they learned to be tolerant of our, including them, 2nd Amendment.

---
Online headline: "Former Chief Executive of Chicago Public Schools Indicted for Accepting Bribes and Kickbacks to Steer No-Bid Contracts" -- Hmmm.. seriously.. is there anymore discussion "needed" before the MCSB votes on publishing the MCSD Superintendent's "under the cap" spendings, or a forensic audit of all MCSD expenditures?

---
Online story: " Eva Brunne, who was made the world’s first openly lesbian bishop by the church of Sweden in 2009, and has a young son with her wife and fellow lesbian priest Gunilla Linden, made the suggestion to make those of other faiths more welcome." -- "make those of other faiths more welcome"? Good grief.. isn't the purpose of a church, a religion, to draw people in to share and teach ITS faith?

---
From L-E story concerning MCSD meeting: " the administration’s request for the board to approve spending $1,474,784 to buy 14 buses" -- You know.. this past school year, the MCSD had over 500 buses in its possession... and only 207 bus drivers (figures supplied by a sitting MCSB member). Why are more buses being bought ?

---
L-E headline/story: "COUNCIL TO VOTE ON TAX THAW REFERENDUM * Also on agenda: SPLOST exemption legislation, revisions to retention policies *  City leaders have made two last-minute additions to the proposed legislative agenda that Columbus Council will vote on this morning. * (last item on that wish list) Statewide legislation calling for a 48-hour vetting period for any substantive amendment to legislation pending on the floor of either chamber of the state legislature. * Six councilors — Barnes, Skip Henderson, Evelyn Turner-Pugh, Mimi Woodson, Mike Baker and Tom Buck — have said they will support putting it on the agenda." -- Hmmm.. how about a 48 hour vetting minimum on adding proposals for the legislative group to ponder. I can already see 6 names of Councilors I will be campaigning against in their next re-election bids.
