What in the hell was Pelosi doing handing over the Speaker's gavel to Paul Ryan?

---
One thing Paul Ryan brings to the House Speaker's job is that he understands economics and will read the bills he pushes. Both if these qualities are completely vacant in the Democrat option, Nancy Pelosi.

---
Online headline: "Ryan promises to 'wipe slate clean' for 'broken' House * The newly elected speaker said after the vote Thursday he's 'not interested in laying blame' when it comes to solving problems in the House." -- Hmmm... guess this will be recorded in history as "The Pelosi Pardon"..

---
I want to laugh but only tears come out.. Did you know that Sam's Club accepts "SNAP" cards? How does a welfare recipient qualify for access to Sam's, a membership store?

---
You know, while Trump didn't hit anybody with a hammer Wednesday night, I hope he's not doing what Romney did...Romney hammered Obamageddon in their first debate, but followed ill advice in the second and third ones which allowed Obamageddon to recover and win the game in the end..America lost because of analyst/strategist advice.

There's an aspect of property taxes no one has talked about yet.. the property tax on your vehicles.. When I moved back from Harris County, my vehicle property taxes doubled.. Since 2003, I've basically avoided buying new cars (with the exception of my wife's nice vehicle in 2004), but we are both going to buy new ones in 2016.. and probably take the single pay tax option.. what I haven't decided is whether I'm going to buy them while living here, or whether I will move back to Harris County following any ballot issue that too many non-property owners will get to vote on. I can already compute the tax savings I would benefit from in moving.. I know I will take a loss on my home here in Columbus due to the 'bubble burst" that happened after I bought, but I can limit my ongoing losses by moving and paying lower taxes on a home and cars in Harris County.

---
Also, while Mayor ObamaLYINGson is poor mouthing us about the tax freeze on our homes, she never addresses the continual increases we pay for our vehicle property taxes taxes.

Here's the granddaddy of property tax elitism at Eagle and Phenix:
A well known CEO of a well-known, century-old-plus manufacturing and real estate firm has a 3,200 square foot 4th floor  condo valued at $996,591.00 that pays $5.60 in property taxes. In addition, his unit has a H1 homestead exemption status as well as coverage of the "historic property" loophole. Will someone please tell me the HI designation will not freeze his "historic property loophole"  taxes at $5.60 for life?

---
Online story: "The coach of a Washington state high school football team who prayed at games despite orders from the school district to stop was placed on paid administrative leave after a group of self-described Satanists said it planned to attend a Thursday game to protest the practice." -- Good grief.. what a state we live in when a school board fears what the devil says he "going to do"...It looks like the devil has already taken over the school board.

---
L-E headline: "FORMER SHERIFF’S WORKER SUES CITY UNDER WHISTLEBLOWER ACT" -- Hmmm.. I'm curious.. did Mark Shelnutt ever obey his 2-year ban from coming into Muscogee County?

That incident involving a defiant student in a South Carolina school, and the over-reaction of the enforcement officer highlights the inadequate concern that school systems. including our own MCSD, have for other students interested in learning. Why was the student, with her history, sitting in that classroom.. Why, because school systems are more concerned with "body counts" than a good learning environment.. "Body count" you ask? Yes.. seems that the school system gets less funding if disruptive students are suspended and not in attendance.. Proper discipline is lost when students are allowed, even in "in school suspension" (ISS), to be on school grounds in proximity to their friends rather than alone at home..

L-E headline/story: "GREATER COLUMBUS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE * Event looks at economic development * Regional Prosperity Initiative aims to make Columbus more attractive to businesses, young professionals * The chamber executive also touched on the Columbus metro area unemployment rate, which has lagged the recovery by other Georgia cities and the U.S. as a whole. *  The local rate in September was 6.7 percent, second-worst in the state, with Albany at the bottom." -- Hmmm.. You know, it looks like the $1,000,000.00 +/- contribution Council makes of our tax dollars was not well spent.. In fact.. eliminating such tax dollar "gifts" would have kept our garbage collections at twice-a-week, and Mayor ObamaLYINGson would still have the $500,000.00 she said the City will gain in savings from elimination of two pickup days a week.

---
Another shooting report today reveals another victim who was shot in both legs.. there have been a number of similar reports in Columbus recently making me wonder if this is not some "signature message" in the local gang/drug scene..

It's folly to think that a bi-polar person is under control when such is in charge of deciding whether or not to self-medicate. The bi-polar person is actually the controller of whether he/she is under control. Not a good situation for those close at habd.

So if Auburn gets 2 wins in its last 5 games, Auburn becomes "bowl eligible".. I'm trying to see where this would be a positive for the AU football program.. you know.. having its season rehashed on National TV and all.
