Online story: "Obama on Friday unveiled new rules that would compel companies with more than 100 workers to provide the federal government annual data for how much they pay employees based on gender, race and ethnicity." -- Good grief..What ZERO-bamageddon has actually done is cripple production of all workers in the future! He's created an environment that dictates "one job/one pay level" which will stop workers from having an initiative to exceed expectations; it will stop companies from being able to reward exceptional efforts with financial rewards. It will basically lower most workers family income as all jobs will have set pay at the lowest levels, because the level/group of "same job" personnel can advance no faster than the slowest, least productive member in that level/group. It will also hit he bottom line in that additional "non-productive" departments will have to be created that figure out how to create equal pay levels for all levels of personnel, and make sure the correct data is sent to "Big Brother". And.. it will basically eliminate "annual bonuses" as no one in any level can be singled out for special compensation.

---
Speaking of "bonuses: Yesterday, I just heard a most discouraging fact from Congressman Jason Chaffetz, R-UT, Chairman of the House Oversight & Government Reform Committee. He said that over half of federal employees get annual bonuses. I understand merit/loyalty annual pay hikes, but bonuses for over half..no way. I used to give bonuses, but they were specific to hard working folks who found ways to improve our bottom line or ways to improve our products. If half of Federal employees were doing that, the government would be a "model" for private businesses to try to achieve, and there would be no turmoil from taxpayers. Under the circumstances just created by ZERO-bamageddon, I think the federal government needs to ask  the American taxpayers for approval as to whether any federal employee get a bonus in the future.

---
Online headline: "22 'top secret' Clinton emails won't be released * The State Dept. announced that some of the former secretary of state's emails will be withheld from public release because of the intel they hold."  -- Good grief.. now Americans won't know what the rest of the world already knows! Now the big questions: Did G.I. JILLary or any of the employees who worked under her get any "bonuses"?, and Are any of the federal employees withholding these e-mails going to get a year-end bonus after the elections?

---
I really am getting PO'd about donation requests by the candidates to fund their campaigns in Iowa and Vermont. They should be seeking dollars from those folks. That's the true poll of how well those voters feel about the message they are spreading.

---
I just ruled out an Audi Q7 for myself on something other than price, and I haven't even sat in one. I just listened to an ad for one..seating 7 was interesting as it indicates more room under normal circumstances, but then it added..power seats available for third row seats. What are they thinking! Why would I want my grandchildren having access to.power seats? I don't want power seats in the 2nd row! Just more electronics to tear up and need repair.

---
You know, the greatest harm to the Republicans in debate was that Trump wasn't there. It made the 7 who were look like they were jockeying for 2nd place during Trump's absence.  It also showed how lacking they might be trying to be on stage with G.I. JILLary when the moderators are going to favor her.

---
Good grief.. one of the Fiasco (Fiat-Chrysler) cars that Poop Francis rode in during his trip to America is going to be auctioned off tonight. The guy didn't even drive it, and it's expected to go for 6-figures . Truly, this has to be called the Poop-mobile.

---
I saw picture on FaceBook of an eagle lying dead in.the ground in a windmill energy collection field... it happened sometime back, but just now come into my attention. You know, if an eagle was found soaked in crude oil, it would have been on the same day's lead story of the mainscream media.. oh.. and NERO-bamageddon would be out consoling the eagle's mama.

---
There was a story in the L-E about the report "Dr" Worsley made to Council about the Aquatic Center.  Councilors Henderson, Thomas, Davis, and Baker (were the other 6 absent?) expressed their disappointment  in that "Dr" Worsley did not have a "cure" to present. Foe r different reasons, I sorta agree with Mayor TomLYINGson.. that Council IS sending " mixed signals to Worsley about what they want.". Of course, at least by L-E reporting standards, Mayor TomLYINGson did not express herself either way.. which to me shows a definite lack of leadership since she hired the "Dr".

---
Online headline: "Italy Dreads Looming Invasion of 400,000 New Immigrants ‘in Coming Weeks’" -- 400,000 immigrants? How about an undocumented "army". 400,000 is about the same number of active soldiers America will have after the last slashing of America's military force by NERO-babageddon. To boot, combining all 5 of the various military entities in Italy and Italy has only 350,000 soldiers.  This is WAR.. not refugeeism.

---
How come G.I. JILLary is telling Iowa voters that if they stand up for her now, she'll fight for them if she wins. Don't Iowans, even Democratic ones, remember how she numblessly abandoned 4  Americans at Benghazi?

---
Online headline: "Two fugitives remained at large on Friday after they broke out of jail a week ago, but officials believe they know where the suspects are hiding." -- "officials believe they know where the suspects are hiding"? What BS.. thos same "officials" also thought the three were sleeping in their cell many hours after they had escaped, too, and the one they have wasn't "captured", he turned himself in. Guess he wants to get started on writing a book and movie script..

---
Online headline: "Iran provokes US with 'abnormal' drone operation * Iranian state television on Friday claimed to have carried out a drone maneuver in very close proximity to a US Navy ship in international waters." -- Good grief.. Even Jimmy Carter would have standing orders for such a drone to be shot out of the air, and if we had a real man in the White House, Iran would have been blown out of the sandbox.

---
There's another list of the 21 most dangerous places in the world to visit..Detroit made the number 2 spot. Guess we all better inspect the trunks of any GM cars we are interested in buying.

---
Online story: "Hillary Clinton is the only candidate racing for the White House who's married to a past president, but it turns out he's not her favorites. * Clinton told AOL.com her favorite past president is actually Abraham Lincoln" --- Hmm.. wonder if we should demand to hear the tapes for ourselves.. She may have said "Abe", not Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln is a big stretch for her as people think of him as honest, but "Abe" would fit.. "Anybody But Ego-head"

---
In the above story: "She (Hillary) also staked a claim as both an early riser and a night owl," -- Of course, she sleeps through 3:00 AM phones calls about Benghazi.

---
Seriously, this not a joke nor farce.. Online story: "A neighborhood in Chicago was named 'Hottest Neighborhood' in the country. * Redfin released its yearly report ranking the "Hottest Neighborhoods of 2016" and Chicago's Ukrainian Village took the No. 1 spot. * The report is calculated by measuring which neighborhoods in 32 cities across the country has the highest increase in total page views and favorites on the Redfin website and apps during the second half of 2015." -- Based on "highest increase in total page views and favorites on the Redfin website and apps during the second half of 2015" .. Hmm.. what the story doesn't say is that Ukaine Village is only 11 miles from one of the most violent Chicago neighborhoods (Englewood), so most of the " increased views" were from Dnglewood thugs casing out it's next area to victimize...

---
From the "suspicions confirmed" department - L-E headline/story: "LEGISLATIVE LAWYER: FREEZE BALLOT QUESTION ‘NOT LEGAL’ *  A deputy counsel for the Georgia House of Representatives has told Rep. Richard Smith, R-Columbus, that, in his opinion, aspects of Mayor Teresa Tomlin-son’s proposed referendum to “thaw” the property tax assessment freeze are “not legal,” according to an email sent to Smith. *  The deputy counsel, Richard Russkell, said putting three different things — sunsetting the freeze, creating a market-based system and creating a higher homestead exemption for new homebuyers — violates the “single subject rule,” which doesn’t allow different subjects to be part of a single ballot question. *  I have had a chance to review the thaw the freeze bill you sent me,” Russkell wrote to Smith in the email. “It is very complex and well written by someone who knows what they are trying to do. " -- Yep... Mayor TomLYINGson is slick.. but not "too slick".. all along I have contended her ultimate goal was to get voters, primarily non-homeowner voters, to basically repeal the tax freeze, but she knew the multi-level tax variables would not pass muster in even a lower court, and in effect, the original tax freeze Constitutional Amendment would have been repealed, and new "freezes" would be outed so the homeowners in Columbus would be exposed to whatever tax/rate increase Mayor TomLYINGson  wanted for the next two years,, Be warned, it's not over yet as there appears to be another level to rule on its "ballot worthiness". Yet if it does get on the ballot and passed, it will definitely be challenged in lower courts and we will all suffer..
---
From above story: " Tomlinson said that before she put the ballot question to the General Assembly she sought opinions from attorney Chuck Palmer, with the Atlanta firm of Troutman Sanders. * One of Palmer’s specialties is government and regulatory law. In the early 2000s, he worked for the city to successfully defend the freeze against a court challenge." -- Good grief.. how can any lawyer represent both sides of an issue.. If Palmer "wins" on breaking up the freeze, he should forced to return the fees he was paid to defend it earlier. This also exposed the snakiness of the profession in general and TomLYINGson specifically.
---
From a related (since the info about the illegal freeze initiative was disclosed at this meeting on WEDNESDAY of this week and not mentioned until Saturday) L-E headline/story: "Economist: Area to lose 1,000 jobs on top of 2,200 soldiers * Local retailing and housing sectors will feel the brunt of fewer jobs in the metro area" -- Hey, Mayor TomLYINGson.. have you written an excuse blaming the "tax freeze" on this so yoy don't have to blame NERO-bamageddon's military cutbacks?

---
From above story: " Economist Jeff Humphreys delivered the good news first at a luncheon held Friday in Columbus. The local metro area performed slightly better in 2015 than even he expected, creating about 1,800 jobs." -- "creating 1,800 jobs"?  Maybe Jeff Humphreys should have considered the source of his info.. Mayor TomLYINGson,, she's Columbus's counterpart to NERO-babamgeddon's flock of press officers led by Robert Gibbs, Jay Carney, and now Josh Earnest who are the "messengers" for his lies. Oh, and don't forget, she idolizes G.I JILLary.. that bastion of truth..
---
Incredibly dumb AND stupid  LIV's L-E "soundoff": "I’ve never had less respect for people I know nothing about than I do for these people with Trump signs in their yards." -- Ironically, this has to be said by a person who respects G.I. JI|LLary for her approach to honesty..
---
L-E headline/story: "Wasserman Schultz becomes target in Clinton-Sanders battle * “If I wanted to favor a candidate, I would not be DNC chair,” she told McClatchy last week after headlining a fund-raiser in Tallahassee, Fla. “I would support that candidate. It’s a pretty convoluted way to help a candidate when I have to actually function neutrally as the DNC chair.”" -- Is there anyone in the Democratic Party who won't lie about what everyone else knows as the truth? Sure, Washerwoman Schultz.. everyone "believes" you are equally thrilled at Bernie as you are with G.I. JILLary.
---
L-E headline: "Jefferson Airplane co-founder Paul Kantner dies at 74" -- Last week it was Glenn Frey.. whew.. reality is setting in when our music icons of our youth are dying of old age.

On a personal note, my mom would have been 96 today..

John Wooden quotes: “Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.” “The true test of a man's character is what he does when no one is watching."  --  Trump won the debate last night.. I didn't watch it.. didn't need to do so..but any of the candidates that made snide remarks about Trump, basically revealed their own lack of character.. lashing out or kicking when their target was not in the room because he was making a stand for what he felt was the right thing to do.

---
G.I JILLary loves to talk about being in "the situation room" and helping the president in crisis situations.. although she loves to talk about Osama bib Laden.. Benghazi... not so much.. but what about  when she was married to the president in the 1990s.. what does she say about the situations in Waco, or when Osama bin Laden's capture/death opportunity that hubby Bill rejected, or the first bombing of the World Trade Center, or his decision for "Don't Ask, Don't Tell", or the "Battle of Mogadishu", or NAFTA, or selling China out top secret ICBM data, or when Bill vetoed a partial-birth-abortion law, or sending in missiles into a civilian owned aspirin factory on Sudan, or looting the White House as she left?

---
Remember  how boastful Slick Willie is about "balancing the budget" while in office,,, well, the truth is: "Beginning in 1995, President Clinton and the Republican-controlled Congress, led by Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich (R-GA), engage in a political death struggle over how to balance the budget by 2002. Failure to reach an agreement leads to the shut-down of certain parts of the federal government, furloughing more than a quarter of a million government workers."  -- Well the truth is that Newt Gingrich was responsible for getting the House to pass a balanced budget, and Clinton signed it.

A fellow BCer sent me this link to what's going on at our University System here in GA.. it's not just the financial screwing parents need to be concerned with...Hint: most of you know what LGBT means... what about "TQIAP".. Well now you will know classes are available at Valdosta State..

Business Insider has ranked all the candidates chances to win the White House.. Rick Santorum is ranked last.. even Martin O'Malley is ranked above him,, Go home Rick..

---
From above story: As predictable, Business Insider ranks G.I. JILLary to have the White House after the November Election.. Trump seoond.. but surprisingly Gool Ole Socialist Bernie comes in 6th,, ahead of all the Republicans save Trump, Cruz, Rubio, and Bush. You know, I may have to vote in the Democrat Primary.. and vote for Bernie.. if all this hoopla is leading to another Socialist sitting in the White House, I'd rather it be the honest one...Bernie would wake up everyone to what the Democray Party is dedicated to.. the collapse of the US..

---
Was glad to see 5 arrests being made concerning that California jail escape.. unfortunately, none arrested were the three that actually escaped.

---
Online headline: "NBA announces Sting will headline 2016 All-Star Game halftime show" -- How appropriate.. the NBA must have taken Jada Pinkett Smith's diversity rants seriously, and invited an old white guy to sing...

---
Online headline: "The CIA just declassified its real-life X-Files on UFOs" -- Hmmm.. guess the CIA figured G.I. JILLary had them on her personal server and wanted to breal]=k the news before Russia or Chine did so.

---
Online headline: "Leonardo DiCaprio gives Pope Francis a special present" -- a shot?

---
From the "how out of touch with reality can government get" department - Online headline: "Flint faces hefty new obstacle amid water debacle" -- Hmmm. my guess would have been how Flint was going to replace all those lead-lined water pipes that should have been replaced a century ago.. but I was wrong.. now Flint doesn't know how it's going to get rid of all the plastic water bottles that have been brought in and thrown onto the rstreets.. Hey, how about calling our Mayor TomLYINGson.. she's built a Recycle Center so large that Columbus will never out grow it!

---
Oh, Bernie Sanders' doctor says Bernie's health is "very good, over all" -- Hmmm guess that's good considering he'll get older in the next few years and if either his or G.I. JILLary's healthcare programs get installed, he's gonna need his "good health" to survive either hos or her term in office.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Determined Lizards Duel In The Middle Of A Busy Road" -- Oooops, my bad.. thought maybe Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi ran into each other crossing the street.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Protests Over Police Shooting Could Disrupt Super Bowl Opening * A fatal shooting by San Francisco police is threatening to grab the national spotlight during Super Bowl festivities.  * Mayor Ed Lee has spent all of his energy pushing out the homeless, disabling bus lines and creating traffic jams so that his precious Super Bowl City can inconvenience the city of San Francisco for two weeks," the Justice 4 Mario Woods Coalition wrote on Facebook." -- Hmmm.. So the mayor of San Francisco, of all places, has been intolerant of people unlike himself.. Hey, Jada Pinkett Smith.. how about some diversity rants aimed at San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee!

---
L-E editorial headline/content: "Garbage fleet problems now at 'critical mass' *  It's been obvious for some time that the apparently perpetual debate over the cost of garbage service in Columbus would not end with pick-up schedules.  * It's even more obvious now." --  Good grief...what we were told is that going to once-a-week-pickups would mean less road time/more maintenance time for the trucks, but.it appears that the trucks are still rolling 4 days a week. In other words, no change except for only one pickup for us.

---
Instant repeat - L-E editorial headline/content: "Garbage fleet problems now at 'critical mass' *  It's been obvious for some time that the apparently perpetual debate over the cost of garbage service in Columbus would not end with pick-up schedules.  * It's even more obvious now." -- You know, Mayor TomLYINGson built a new Recycle Center that far exceeds the current and future needs of Columbus (and that was compounded by "glass" no longer being a recyclable revenue generator)., and the garbage trucks rot...

---
L-E story: "The Columbus metropolitan area unemployment rate rose to 6.4 percent in December, the Georgia Department of Labor reported Thursday, joining Albany with the highest jobless figure in the state.
 * The December rate was up from 6.3 percent in November and is still better than the 7 percent the Columbus metro area had in December 2014.  * “Most of that was due to temporary layoffs in the manufacturing sector, so most of those individuals have already gone back to work” in January, said Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark Butler."  -- Gimmee a break.. anytime unemployment rise in December shows a very weak economy and bleak future for the area, and the layoffs from Christmas Holiday jobs will offset any return workers to manufacturing layoffs. By the way, what "manufacturing" jobs is he referring to, did we get some more mills back?

---
On Wednesday, business and political leaders got an economic update for our city at CSU. Why hasn't the L-E written a story about it?...You know why...the L-E is such a disappointment for Columbus., and the truth would make Trump more popular in Columbus.

---
L-E story: " DETROIT — The Detroit teachers’ union has filed a lawsuit against the district calling for repairing “deplorable” conditions and removing the state-appointed emergency manager.  * The Detroit Federation of Teachers’ suit filed Thursday in Wayne County Circuit Court seeks “an appropriately funded capital plan” to fix districtwide problems. It calls for removing Emergency Manager Darnell Earley and returning to local control."-- "returning to local control"? Isn't that why the conditions have gotten so bad in the first place? Now, what have the teachers done to help out? Have they offered to take salary cuts "for the kids" in order to make more money available for repairs/maintenance?  Have they organized themselves and parents to have "clean up work days"? You know the answer as well as I do...

---
L-E headline/story: "Inquiry: Concert ticket sales are a ‘fixed game’ * By MICHAEL VIRTANEN *  Associated Press *  ALBANY, N.Y. — Had a hard time getting a ticket to a concert or sporting event? New York’s attorney general says that’s probably because more than half of tickets to many events are held for industry insiders or otherwise unavailable to the general public." -- Well, I don't know for sure about Albany, NY, but we even have more prime tickets held out here in Columbus. I think the number is 34.. which are taken by the CivicCenter manager to distribute to Council and other City employees... for free.. I hope I do not see any City employees sitting closer to the stage than my bride and I at the Elton John Concert in March.

---
L-E story: " The 56 nominees to be the Muscogee County School District 2016 Teacher of the Year were announced Thursday at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts. * Kinetic Credit Union President and CEO Janet Davis, chairwoman of the Muscogee Educational Excellence Foundation, which conducts the district’s Teacher of the Year program, said in a news release, “The dedication and commitment of these outstanding teachers is the very foundation of our educational system. * These teachers have made a significant impact in student learning and achievement, and we are honored to recognize them as Teacher of the Year honorees.” -- Amen! Praise be for the teachers even considered for the nominations, though I think the Muscogee Educational Excellence Foundation left out an extremely valuable aspect of our children's learning experiences.. there is no nomination for the MCSB District "Representative of the Year" .. I nominate John Thomas and Frank Myers, and split my vote equally!

---
Did you see the announcement of the Middle School Spelling Bee Champion.. Congratulations to a fine student named Dominic Valenzuela from private St,Anne-Pacelli School. He won by spelling "aspirin" It's pretty easy to see why a public school student didn't have a chance.. looking at test scores, I figure the students haven't been introduced to words over 5 letters long.

---
Did you see the list of burglaries .. 20 I think, that have been associated with a couple of criminals the CPD is trying to find.. Three of those happened within a block of Mobley Road.. I wonder how many speeding ticket were being issued on Mobley Road while the burglaries were going on "next door"?

---
Please offer a prayer for one of our City Councilors.. our Mayor-Pro-Tem Evelyn Turner-Pugh for the loss of her brother.

---

Saw an ad the L-E is running trying to find a person as "Audience Development Manager".. almost spewed coffee out my nose.. good grief, if the L-E wants more subscribers, all it has to do is reporting the true tacts and conditions within our City Government and the MCSD. Political Correctness has been a complete failure!

Online headline: "US made secret concession in Iran prisoner swap" -- Yeah, Our safety and security for NERO-bamageddon's ego.

---
Repeat of FB posting yesterday AM: You heard it here first...a fellow BCer went to the Economic meeting at CSU this morning..one of our legislative delegates told him that they decided the TomLYINGson assault on the tax freeze was illegal...YES!

---
Online story of O'Reilly-Trump interview: "In your Christian faith, there is a very significant tenet. And that's the tenet of forgiveness," Bill O'Reilly later told Trump. * And I think you should forgive not only journalists who come at you in ways you don't like, but I think you should be the bigger man and say, 'You know what? I didn't like it. ... But I'm not going to take any action against it.' Don't you think that's the right thing to do?" -- Hey, Bill.. would you have asked Jesus why he just didn't forgive the money changers in the temple?  Yeah.. O'Reilly probably would, but you know, leaders stand up against what's wrong.. otherwise it looks like you agree with it (or at a minimum, condone it). Like Popeye would say,.. "That's all I can stands 'n I can't stands no more!

---
There's a list out of the "Top 10 Most Corrupt Countries"..From worst to 10th Worst: Somalia, North Korea, Afghanistan, Sudan, South Sudan, Angola, Libya, Iraq, Venezuela, and Guinea-Bissau. Guess what they all have in common.. none are Judeo-Christian.. no, Venezuela is a "trick question".. but who believes Venezuela is more corrupt than Iran, Syria, or Palestine? What else do they all have in common... NERO-bamageddon would send Kerry to negotiate with them.

---
Online headline/story: "Hillary Clinton opens up about her greatest political regret  * "I regret we didn't get health care back in 1993 or '94, because we'd really be much further down the road," she says." -- Hmmm... I partially agree with her.. "we'd really be much further down the ...." ...there the agreement ends.. she says "road". I say "tubes"!

---
L-E story: " Nearly 1,900 Georgians who had failed the GED test may now be eligible for the general equivalency diploma, and hundreds of others could earn college credit from the exam, because the national scoring system has changed. *  The passing score was lowered from 150 to 145. That means 1,880 Georgians who received a score of 145 to 149 on the GED test since Jan. 1, 2014, when the exam went from paper to computer, could receive the high school credential, the Technical College System of Georgia announced in a news release." -- Good grief.. lowering the standards for an already lowered standard... that makes sense... NOT.. unless you're liberal in the education system who is happy for more wall-papering diplomas to be on the streets. What's even worse, fewer G.E.D. test will be given in the future since now no graduation test is required and "regular" diplomas will be handed out like free scent samples at Dillards.. only the Dillard's "scents" will smell better.

---
L-E story: "A Columbus man was jailed Wednesday and police seized $154,644 worth of methamphetamine during a search at a Third Avenue home, police said.  * Greenhaw claimed responsibility of all the illegal items in the home. Police said agents found 2.8 pounds of meth at the home along with a 9mm pistol and a stolen 32-inch TV."  -- Hmmm... a felon in possession of an illegal gun while committing another felonious crime.. we don't need tougher gun laws.. we need tougher sentencing.. this looks like an unappealable death sentence crime to me.

---
L-E story: "The city’s ancient fleet of garbage trucks is putting at risk not only the lives of the drivers and crews who operate them, but everyone they drive past, according to the men and women who drive them and the mechanics who struggle to keep them on the road. * Almost 80 percent of the fleet is well over the recommended age for such trucks, seven years, and many are more than twice that old. Replacing the fleet may involve raising the city’s garbage fee, suggested Public Works Director Pat Biegler, who addressed Columbus Council Tuesday night, along with several of her mechanics and drivers." -- What BS.. badly maintained vehicles is a result of not prioritizing expenditures, bad management, and bad leadership..

Good grief--- Mayor TomLYINGson is open to losing $500,000.00 a year to keep the AquaticCenter open, yet lets garbage trucks rot away while she tries to raise our property taxes and garbage fees. Heard she didn't have a good day yesterday.. Even before the Economic Conference at CSU, she learned that the legislative delegation says her tax freeze assault proposal is not legal.

---
From above story:
This picture showing the exposed wiring just confirms how inadequate City leadership and capabilities are.

I think the City has a machine shop-in-house, (I do know there are several businesses that do such work) and a part for this could be made relatively easy and inexpensively.. Even Columbus Tech could make this.

------------------------------------------------------------------
L-E's "Thought for Today": “It is difficult to say what is impossible, for the dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow.” — Robert H. Goddard, American rocket engineer (1882-1945)." -- Well it's not near as "difficult to say what is impossible" for our children and grandchildren.. "possible" has been demoted by liberals who teach only the government can provide for you...

---
L-E editorial headline concerning legal fees caused by Moyor TomLYINGson: "If we have to pay, tell us just what we’re paying for" -- You know.. let's just pay to have TomLYINGson recalled for malfeasance in office.. just her budget inadequacies are enough for charges to be warranted.

---
From the "let me get this straight" department: The IOC has decided that transgendered men do not have to have had "the surgery" in order to compete in the 2016 Brazil Olympics.. good grief... is the IOC trying to get Caitlyn Jenner to come out... of retirement? I truly hope some normal world class male athletes will put on skirts and demand to be allowed to compete in women's and co-ed competitions.. How about Steph Curry and a few of his cronies on the USA Women's Basketball Team, or the PGA Ryder Cup team playing in the Women's Golf event..

---
Online headline: "Ga. Lawmaker Proposes Ban On LGBT Conversion Therapy" -- Heel yeah.. ya damn straight.. the Olympics says anybody .. for that matter any body type, can compete in Women's Events, so why should we pay for "conversion therapy"?

---
L-E story: " Former Central football star Jeremiah Castille shared an impassioned message to a select gathering of Central High students on Wednesday in the school’s auditorium. *  He was there to present the school with a gold football from the NFL to mark the 50th anniversary of the Super Bowl. Castille played for the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXII and was asked, along with all other Super Bowl participants, to present the token to the school they began their careers at. * Castille wanted to present the students with much more, however. * “I wanted to come back,” he said. “I owe so much to Central High School and all the teachers that were here, and I wanted to encourage the students who are here now.” -- Jeremiah Castille... what a great man.. probably didn't weigh in at more than 137 pounds when he played pro-football. but receivers knew they had been "stuck" when he hit them. .. but that's not why I think he's a great man.. his off field leadership and devotion to God have been a blessing to all that know or have met him.

Have you seen the ad for "Peter and the Wolf" to be showing at the River Center on Sunday? It says there are childrens ticket available for $10.00 & $8.00. Now go online to order some tickets and there's no option to buy a child's ticket. This is not right.

Online headline: "Clinton reveals troubling issue she wasn't expecting" -- "wasn't expecting"? Yeah.. that mainscream media as well as Democrat voters would hold her lying against her...

Instant repeat headline plus story: "Clinton reveals troubling issue she wasn't expecting * Clinton was taken aback by "the amount of concern that people have about addiction and mental health" * "I really wasn't expecting that, and I didn't know that it would be top of mind for so many people."" -- Good grief.. they are concerned about G.I. JILLary's mental health and addiction to lies!

---
From above story: "Clinton, who leads nationally by large margins but faces a closer race in Iowa and New Hampshire, introduced a $10 billion plan to combat America's "deadly epidemic" in September, which includes state and federal partnerships and treatment-focused solutions for addicts." -- As Reagan would inject, "Well there she goes again".. $10 Billion "sounds" like a BIG number when she throws it around, but when you parse it, that's about $33.00 a person in America (or about 13 minutes with a professional charging $150.00 per hour).

---
Now, Bernie is talking really big numbers.. free healthcare for all.. Currently, our GNP is about $17 TRILLION (17,000,000,000,000.00). Healthcare is currently about 16.7% of our GNP ($2,833,333,333,333.00). What this means is with 300,000,000 people in America, we all will pay taxes of $9,444.00 (family of 4 would be $37,776.00) for Bernie's (or JILLary's) "free healthcare. That's based on last year,, but what happens next will bankrupt of next year.. our 300,000,000 people will want 'free healthcare" every day. Every insecure person will want "free plastic surgery", every teen will want "free acne healthcare", bald men will want "free hair transplants".. get the picture.. Hey, and the tax figures are covering ONLY the "free healthcare". Oh.. and G.I. JILLary's $10 BILLION for "addiction and mental health"...instead of one 13 minute session, 300,000,000 American will be camped out on psychiatrists' doorstep for daily  hourly sessions to ask why did they ever vote for a Democrat...

Trump may get his "coups de' media". By pulling out of the Republican debates, media will flock to hom during and after the debate to get his remarks on the "pot shots" other candidates take at him.. Mexico Citizens Council for Public Security. has posted a list of the 50 most violent cities in the world.. Latin America lays claim to 41 of these, and Brazil specific has 21.. nice to know on the eve of the 2016 Brazil Olympic Games. There were 4 US cities that made the list.. actually, Chicago is not one of them, but other Democrat lead cities with Constitutionally challengeable gun laws, like New Orleans, Detroit, Baltimoe, and St Louis made it. Baltimore and St Louis made the Top Twenty with 55 and 59, respectfully, violent crimes per 100K of people. Chicago must be resentful at having so many other American cities stealing it's thunder (didn't make the Top 10... but Atlanta did), so Chicago is trying harder.. Already this year, (through Jan 25, with 6 more days to count), Chicago has had 46 murders on its streets which sets a record for January in any year this century.

From the "can we leave out pertinent details and still call this journalism" department - Online story: "MILWAUKEE (AP) — A Milwaukee man faces federal charges after he allegedly purchased two machine guns from undercover agents as part of a plan to attack a Masonic temple. * Court documents show federal prosecutors charged 23-year-old Samy Mohamed Hamzeh on Tuesday with unlawfully possessing a machine gun and unlawfully receiving and possessing firearms not registered to him. It wasn't immediately clear whether he had an attorney. * According to an FBI affidavit, agents were tipped off in September that Hamzeh planned to travel to Israel in October to attack Israeli soldiers and citizens in the West Bank. He abandoned those plans due to "family, financial and logistic reasons," the affidavit said, but refocused his efforts on a domestic attack. * Hamzeh discussed his plans extensively with two FBI informants. The affidavit said the FBI started recording his conversations with the informants in October. * Hamzeh and the two informants traveled to a gun range on Jan. 19 and practiced with a pistol. Afterward they took a tour of a Masonic temple in Milwaukee. The affidavit does not name the temple. Dean Puschnig, a spokesman for U.S. Attorney Greg Haanstad, declined to identify it." -- Good grief.. a  self-proclaimed Muslim man named Samy Mohamed Hamzeh buys two automatic weapons  with the intent to shooting up a Masonic Temple and not one mention  that the Masons are a historical Christian based organization..  We need Trump!

Online headline: "Fla. man planned to radicalize, dress like the Joker and murder boss,  * A Florida man who allegedly confessed to pledging “allegiance to Allah” and plotting a mass shooting while dressed like a comic-book villain will only need to post $5,000 bond and stay on house arrest as he awaits trial. * Enrique Dominguez, 20, was arrested Friday and charged with aggravated assault, the Miami Herald reported. * Earlier this month, Dominguez allegedly told a co-worker at bicycle part distributor J&B Importers that he’d purchased a shotgun to murder his boss. He then showed the co-worker ISIS execution videos, according to an arrest report reviewed by the Herald." -- Good grief.. here's another Muslim attack plan that gets treated like it's a "regular" work place violence case. Note that his boss's name was not mention.. must be because it could easily be identified or associated with either a Jewish or Christian belief.

Online story: "In a gamble to fix a dysfunctional school ahead of a potential state takeover, Atlanta Public Schools Superintendent Meria Carstarphen merged one of the city’s best high schools with one of its worst. * Combining Carver School of Technology, where about half of students graduate, with Carver Early College, where nearly every student goes on to a four-year college, tests the theory that threatening schools with extreme sanctions leads to rapid changes for the better — the theory behind Gov. Nathan Deal’s Opportunity School District plan. If voters approve that plan this fall, the state could take control of schools like the School of Technology." --  This old adage does a lot to explain liberals', even RINOs "good intention" failures: "If you stick a glove into a bucket of mud and stir it up, the mud does not get "glovier".

Online story: "At a CNN town hall meeting, Sanders argued that his own judgment, not Clinton's experience, is the most crucial quality for the next commander-in-chief. *  Clinton, in response, evoked President Barack Obama, saying when he selected her to be secretary of state he gave approval to her judgment. * "You have to have somebody who is a proven, proven fighter," Clinton said." -- "a proven, proven fighter"? Ask the families of Ambassador Stevens and Sean Smith and Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods..

"I've heard from quite a few people my age that say you're dishonest," said the supporter, who described himself as a supporter of Sanders. *  He proceeded to ask her about what he perceived as an enthusiasm gap among young people for Clinton's campaign vs. Sanders'. * Clinton said she was "totally happy to see young people involved in any way." But she said she wanted voters to know that she believes she's frequently attacked because she fights for progressive causes. * "I've been around a long time, people have thrown all kinds of things at me. I can't keep up with it," Clinton said. "They come up with these outlandish things, they make these charges, I just keep going forward because there's nothing to it, they throw all this stuff at me and I am still standing."" -- "I've been around a long time...people have thrown all kinds of things at me... "This is one example of the fact that even though some people have given great performances in movies they weren't even thought about." -- Good grief.. is this another "short issue" as well.. Guess DeVito feels he has been "overlooked" compared to taller actors. I have liked DeVito in past roles, but ain't gonna bother to see anything else .. I appreciate good performances that drive a movie and you feel the actor/actress is actually the person he/she is portraying, but when you recognize a performance by one because that's the only aspect of acting (playing themselves) hey know, then it's not a great performance..

Online headline/story: "Ian McKellen thinks gay people are 'disregarded' in Hollywood * Sir Ian McKellen doesn't think black people are the only group ignored by Hollywood, and said gay people are also being "disregarded." * "As a representative of the industry they're in, it's receiving complaints which I fully sympathize with," the 76-year-old actor told Sky News in response to the #OscarsSoWhite backlash. "It's not only black people who've been disregarded by the film industry, it used to be women, it's certainly gay people to this day. And these are all legitimate complaints and the Oscars are the focus of those complaints, of course."" -- Good grief, How are women ignored when they have specific categories they can win.. of course, McKellen may feel Caityn Jenner was subbed.. You know, I think tall people like me who have no singing ability are discriminated agaoinst by Hollywood, too. Get over it, and work harder at being a better actor.

While we're at it.. did Jada Pinkett Smith or Spike Lee.. even Danny DeVito mention that Cheryl Boone Issacs has represented the Public Relations Branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, known for its annual Academy Awards (Oscars), on the AMPAS Board of Governors for 21 years as of 2013. On July 30, 2013 she was elected as the 35th president of AMPAS.[1] Boone Isaacs is the first African American to hold this office, and the third woman (after Bette Davis and Fay Kanin)... Looks like the Academy does recognize "talent" regardless of color..

The felony charge is punishable by up to 20 years in prison. * The two were involved in covert videos last year in which a Planned Parenthood official discussed the procurement of fetal tissue." -- Planned Parenthood must be in shock! Now it will have all the discussions and videos and testimonies live and under oath in a law suit, and tere's no way the two patriots will be convicted of a crime, while the crimes of Planned Parenthood will be fully exposed.

Online headline: "Gwinnett seeks $12.3 million in state grants to upgrade transit system" -- Good greif.. if a government transit system cannot make a profit (or at least cover ongoing maintenance) then the rates should be raised until they do, and if ridership drops off, then close down the systems.

Scot Turner, R-Holly Springs, today will file legislation that contains what on its face seems like a no-brainer: The government cannot seize your stuff unless you’re convicted of a crime.  *  Civil forfeiture is essentially the ability of law enforcement to seize cash and property it suspects was used in the commission of a crime."  - There is nothing more evil than the ability of law enforcement to confiscate assets of someone j=ust because someone is suspected of committing a crime that a jury has not processed. It's bad enough on families driving through states and getting charged with even petty crimes and find their vehicle and cash assets confiscated. Of course, the worst violator is the IRS.. it can decide out of the blue that it disagrees with your "math" and can put a hold on all your assets until you prove yourself innocent. L-E headline/story: "Defense argues against showing jury gory photos  * Prosecutors: Court OKs showing jurors crime scene, autopsy images *  Jurors in the death penalty trial of Brandon Conner may need stout constitutions to withstand the evidence they’ll be shown. * That’s because the evidence may include photos of the charred bodies of Conner’s 32-year-old girlfriend Rosella “Mandy” Mitchell and their 6-month-old son Dylan Conner, found Aug. 21, 2014, in their burned 1324 Winifred Lane home." -- Thnak goodness for Judge Rumor!  Hope maybe the jury will come to the proper verdict quicker.. Murder is one thing.. a very gruesome "one thing" but to mutilate and destroy the victims' bodies after the fact is awful.. it show there is absolutely no respect for life and no remorse in the killer.

L-E story: "The time has come to look at the old lady and admit she is long past her prime. No one is going to ask her to dance, and it is false hope to think that someone will. * What are we talking about? Golden Park. *  Golden Park has not been home to a professional baseball team since 2008." --
Good grief.. I made this point in 1990.. I suggested that Golden Park be razed as it was the perfect location for a new Civic Center.. it would have an impressive sight crossing over the Oglethorpe bridge, and would anchor Broadway's attempt to remake itself an important scene for new hotels and restaurants.  At the same time, I suggested that a new baseball/outdoor music facility be constructed on (now) Veterans Parkway at the Northlake complex, and make a bid to get Olympic baseball games for the 1996 Atlanta games... Land had been put together with options in hopes that would have been a Walmart choice. At that time, there was a $1.8 Million dollar renovation scheduled for Golden Park,,, I suggested that be scrapped and applied to another $5 Million which would have covered the estimated cost of the new facility. Council and business got excited for a while, but then decided to spend the $1.8 Million on renovating Golden Park instead... because it was cheaper.. 3 years later, Atlanta approached Columbus to pawn off it's Olympic Softball division. Mayor/Council jumped all over it, and added $5 Miilion to the $1.8 Million already approved, and put a major band-aid on Golden Park. That basically ended professional baseball in Columbus.. It was a poor choice then and today it just shows how bad a choice that was. Just imagine what an asset the new  baseball/outdoor music venue would still be today.. also imagine how Broadway would be with it being a primary beneficiary of Civic Center events..

Online headline: "EXCLUSIVE: Chris Rock not dropping out of Oscars, rewriting monologue to address #OscarsSoWhite outrage" -- I have an announcement, too. For the at least 30th year in a row, I will be boycotting the Oscars again regardless of who is hosting or has.has not been nominated. In fact, I may start boycotting movies in general since the last go-round of price increases.. I can pop my own popcorn to put in my "bucket", and buy the theater's $4.25 + .34 cents in taxes box of candy for $1.08 at Target, and show a PPV/Netflix, or Red Box movie on my big screen..

---
I also predict that  movie producers will cut theaters out of the mix..oh, there'll be some interest in some Imax spectaculars, but opening weekends at theaters will become petty change compared to reaching families and friends at home.

As far as I'm concerned, the Oscars can award participation trophies to everyone  who worked on a movie and it still wouldn't satisfy whiners... or get me to watch.

Online story: "Sen. His campaign said the then-18-year-old was also drinking beer.  *  Since the beginning of his campaign, Rubio has accused papers of reporting on what he considers trivial issues from his past." -- God grief.. if the WaPo just reported the surface facts about G.I.JILLary's clandestined maneuvers, it would not have time left to dig into the facts, much less time to research Rubio.

---
Online story: "Last June, the New York Times outlined Rubio's large debts and his tendency to make big purchases, like an $80,000 boat, despite being in debt." -- Good grief.. if JILLary had purchased a boat with the profits from turning $1,000.00  into $100,000.00 playing options, the newspaper would have said she was probably buying a boat to get illegal aliens from Cuba to American soil..

Getting the current Mayor TomLYINGson version of the tax freeze assault is not what she's interested in for the long-term. What she wants is to have voters override the amendment that established the current rules. Once that is done, a simple challenge to the new split regulations involving similar valued homes in the same neighborhood will override the original protection she claims is part of her plan. Ultimately, I believe she is interested in getting rid of the homestead exemption.. think of the windfall revenue the City would get if your City taxes matched the MCSD portion of your tax bill.

The Times reported that Harris is investigating what ExxonMobil “knew about global warming and what the company told investors.” * Neither Harris nor Schneiderman recognizes the outrageousness of what they are doing—which amounts censoring or restricting speech and debate on what is a contentious scientific theory. In fact, they want not just to stop anyone who questions the global warming theory from being able to speak; they want to punish them with possible civil sanctions or even criminal penalties. As I said before about Schneiderman, Harris needs a remedial lesson in the First Amendment." -- Harris and Schneiderman must have learned Constitutional law under NERO-bamageddon.

From the Columbus City Manager's Agenda for Council: " GO! TRANSIT CAPITAL PROGRAM GRANT: Approval is requested to submit an application and accept if approved a Go! Transit Capital Program Grant in the amount of $6 million, with no local match required, from the State Road and Tollway Authority for the purpose of providing the necessary funding for the environmental studies needed to develop a high-speed rail service between Columbus and Atlanta. *  For the past four years the Mayor’s Commission for Passenger Rail has explored the possibility of establishing high-speed rail between Columbus and Atlanta. From these efforts, a feasibility study was conducted in 2014 to show that intercity rail between the two cities was not only doable, but would be profitable as well. " --  "a feasibility study was conducted in 2014 to show that intercity rail between the two cities was not only doable, but would be profitable as well"? -- Gimmee a break! Show me ANY government backed transit program (Metra/AmtrakBike Trail et al) that even breaks even, much less turns a profit! But I can be persuaded.. first let Mayor TomLYINGson show that she can run the Aquacenter at a profit.. that should be a lot easier than a train, because the Aquacenter doesn't move!

From the City Manager's Agenda: " COLUMBUS UMPIRES ASSOCIATION: Approval is requested to authorize the use of Columbus Umpires Association as a vendor for officiating games with the Columbus Parks and Recreation Department at a current cost of $23 per umpire per game for adult league softball and $24 per game for senior league softball." -- Good grief.. just make each team provide an umpire or have each team provide  $12.00 to pay them.. To be honest.. adults should be able to conduct softball game without any umpires... (NO whining//I was a volunteer umpire in LL for 30 years and never took a penny in pay)

E-mail from G.I. JILLary: "My opponent is outspending us on TV advertising, getting in front of more voters at a crucial time -- and he's able to do that because his supporters are stepping up across the board" -- Good grief.. if Bernie is outspending her it's because she thought she could win this with 1-hand tied behind her back so she didn't plan well. On the other hand, she may be concerned that the FBI may "tie" both her hands behind her and she's gonna need that money for her defense.

L-E story: "Motions filed in the capital murder case of a Columbus man accused of killing his wife and infant son before setting their house afire in 2014 reveal some evidence in the case. *  Among those filings are motions to suppress evidence patrol officers found on C*nner after the homicides, when they noticed him sitting in his 2001 BMW 740i on Cedar Avenue off Wynnton Road.' * The officers said they saw that Conner was "nervous, shaking, sweating profusely, and had blood on his face and clothing," according to prosecutors. * Among the defense motions are filings asking Rumer to:

Suppress evidence police got from Conner's cellphone and laptop.

Declare Georgia's murder statute unconstitutional.

Find Conner's indictment insufficient.

Allow no witness to say the manner of death was homicide.

Order prosecutors to show no photographs depicting the victims before the crime, nor any autopsy photos taken afterward.

Find that African-Americans and other minorities were not sufficiently represented on the grand jury that indicted Conner.

Ensure Conner wears no jail uniform or shackles at trial, as that could prejudice the jury.

Bar prosecutors from seeking the death penalty because it would violate the Eighth Amendment prohibition on cruel and unusual punishment.

Issue a gag order prohibiting prosecutors from publicly discussing the case.

--  Good grief.. "no probable cause to detain and search him"? .. Is it just me, but do you remember when defense lawyers were looked at as a knight in shining armor?  Nah.. me neither. And I think the defense lawyers want Jada Pinkett Smith to pick the jurors.

L-E story: "James, an Alert and Concerned Reader over on the south side of town, is worried that a section of Booth Street is in danger of collapsing into a drainage creek that runs alongside it. *  Booth Street runs off of Floyd Road next to the Wesley Shopping Center. It runs alongside a large drainage ditch. The banks of the ditch are reinforced with concrete for a couple of hundred yards, but that stops and the banks are just red clay and vegetation from there on." -- Hmmm.. see what happened when Mayor TomLYINGson appointed a Democrat to sit in Red McDaniels' Council seat?  Bet your street needs "fixin", too.

I'll bet that if Red was alive and in Council, the Whittlesey Road widening projetc would have been finish... on schedule

---
Frustrated L-E "soundoff": "   The two professions that deserve our highest respect are teaching and public safety. Yet they are the two that receive the absolute least respect. I truly fear the world we are creating for our children." -- I don't know about our highest respect, but surely honest respect.. unfortunately, their boss is either the School Board or Mayor TomLYINGson, and neither one  listens to their employees or taxpayers.

---
Well informed L-E "soundoff": "   Robert E. Lee opposed slavery more than Washington and Lincoln. Almost accepted Lincoln’s request to command the Union army, but felt duty to defend his homeland. Opposed post-war Confederate Flag displays. Happy Birthday, General Lee." -- Somebody send this to New Orleans... along with the history of the Democratic Party organization known as the "White Man's League".

---
Incredibly stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "   Darr’s and Pierce’s fees come from their decision to sue Council for more of our tax dollars rather than working responsibly within the budget. Thank goodness the city is standing up to them." -- What is it with Democrats.. seems like none of them like to e=read the laws they pass.

---
L-E's " Thought for Today:":  “A first-rate organizer is never in a hurry. He is never late. He always keeps up his sleeve a margin for the unexpected.” — Arnold Bennett, English poet, author and critic (1867-1931)." -- Hmmmm.. obviously, NERO-bamageddon wasn't even a GOOD community organizer...if he was, he'd have no need to write Executive Orders to get things done...

Oh! Now that mainscream media has vilified Michigan's Republican Governor, we find out that it wouldn'y have mattered who was the Governor.. Flint's water pipes are the old LEAD-Lined ones of past centuries.. Of course, instead of replacing those deadly water pipes, Flint has what it calls:
:
"Mid Michigan's Premier Basketball Facility
4 - Full Sized Courts
Air Conditioned Facility
Premier Court-side Seating
Separate Lobby and Concession areas/seating"

Put Democrats in charge and you get facilities that drain the coffers .. Just look here in Columbus under Democrat Mayor TomLYINGson.. we have street collapsing due to bad water/sewer pipes, but we have a Bike Trail, Dog Run, Natatorium, the Queen TT Lounge et al operating in "the red". and she wants a 4 Billion dollar high speed train to Atlanta and eliminate our tax protection from people like her.

---
When is the MCSD/MCSB going to discuss  the $600,000.00 improvements for the baseball and softball fields at Columbus High? The only way baseball could spend it's share would be to "Dome it". and there's not even a softball field on the CHS campus.. The softball field CHS uses a Little League files and  is located at Lakebottom Park..

Online headline: "Obama's cabinet throws support behind Clinton  * Hillary Clinton hasn't been publicly endorsed by the president yet, but many of his senior officials have joined Team Clinton." -- I guess so.. any Cabinent hanger-arounds when Trump gets there will be met with two words.. "You're Fired!"

---
Online headline: "Government may start putting chips in soldiers' brains" -- Well, it won't happen with a military friendly president! Can you imagine what a disadvantage our soldiers would have in combat... imagine enemy soldiers with "smart" bullets homed in by GPS on out soldiers micro-chip. We already give away too much to the enemy by making out soldiers to hoild their fire until the enemy takes its first shot.

Online headline: "Manhunt for 3 California inmates continues * Authorities are continuing their search for three men, who escaped from a maximum-security jail on Friday after making a rope ladder." -- Good grief.. no ladder, handmade particularly, should enable an escape from a maximum security jail..

Online story: "Farmers in the western French region of Brittany have blocked a national highway with a pile of smoldering tires to protest falling prices.  *  The farmers want more help from the government, saying they cannot pay their bills because prices have stagnated or fallen while they face higher expenses than their competitors elsewhere in the European Union." -- "want more help from the government"? Good grief.. more than likely, it's the government that's causing the problem to begin with! Like all socialist counties, sooner or later, over taxing the actual revenue producers caves in the system. As Margaret Thatcher so succinctly put it, ""The trouble with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money".

With the blizzard shutting down Washington, DC, trivia people are crunching all sorts of numbers.. One set lists the worst snow storms.. Amazingly, though I'm not surprised, is that the 4 largest snow falls in the last 90 years have been when Democrats sit in the Oval Office.. Yesterday's 29" of "climate change"  is the worst in weather recorded history, it's not the first time NERO-bamageddon's terms have been  dumped on.. Washington, DC also got 17.8" in Feb of 2010, which topped the 17.3" Clinton got in Jan of 1996, . Oh.. the other one was under Carter in Feb of 1979 ..18.7". Yep. the biggest threat to Washington shut downs is a Democrat sitting in the White House,, as the song says, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

While the Flint, MI water supply situation is deplorable, mainscream media and Democrats are trying to put all the blame on Michigan's Republican Governor.. Reminds me a lot on how mainscream media placed the blame of the damages caused by Hurricane Katrina on Bush43. In both the Flint, MI and NOLA, the situation festered under Democratic Mayors's rule long before the problems erupted.

Online headline: "" -- Congressional Black Caucus member supports Oscars 'diversity' boycott" -- You know.. aren't elected representatives supposed to support all the people? Didn't MLK say we .. blacks and whites, should judge people by their character, not the color of their skin? Shouldn't the "Black Caucus" be on the Southern Poverty Law Center's "hate group" list?

---
Online story: "Gerald Molen, a voting member of the Academy who earned a best picture Oscar for producing Schindler's List, has some very choice words for the "spoiled brats" who are crying racism over the lack of diversity in the nominations this time around. *  * "The idea of a boycott is ridiculous," Molen said. "Are their noses bent out of shape by the award nominations? Of course. That is normal in a town of egos and red carpet desires. While there were many performances of note, not all my choices for 'best' in the various categories have been realized. * "There is no racism except for those who create an issue. That is the worst kind. Using such an ugly way of complaining," Molen told The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday." -- Amen!

I cannot make it myself this morning due to prior commitments, but State Senator Ed Harbison is going to be at the main Library at 10:00 AM today for those who want to pass on your views about the "tax freeze". Did you know that DeKalb County has passed a tax freeze and it's representatives are recommending it ?

http://www.ajc.com/news/news/local-govt-politics/support-of-tax-freeze-led-to-dekalb-reforms/nkd97/

Hmmm.. amazing how the DeKald politicos are responding to taxpayer interests while Muscogee County  "representatives" are responding to each other's greed for more tax revenues.

Mayor TomLYINGson shudders...

---
L-E headline: "Columbus, Benning yet to estimate flood recovery costs" -- Boy.. Phenix City is prepared.. Mayor Lowe just mentioned how he'd grown the "fund balance" by 50% or so since he's been Mayor.. meanwhile in Columbus, Mayor TomLYINGson has stolen from our fund balance and we don't have the luxury of breathing easy about fixing the damages.

I'm really concerned about the RNC -- why  does it seem the committee is more concerned to be attacking the one person that has the public's ear rather than learning from Trump what other Republican candidates could be saying to strengthen their message to voters. It's not just about the presidential race, but Trumps words will resonate in Senate and Congressional races. A lot of voters that won't support  the Democrats are looking for something more inspirational than a bunch of Casper Milquetoast candidates.

---
Online story: "The Republican National Committee announced late Thursday that the venerable conservative magazine National Review had been dropped as a debate sponsor after it published an issue devoted to why voters should reject Donald Trump's presidential campaign." -- Well, it sounds like some of the RNC is listening to voter feedback,,let's hopethe RNC backs all the candidates equally as they present their messages to the voters for the primaries.

---
I saw an ad pushing "WIC on Wheels"..believe me, I llke that there's a safety net for people who are lost momentarily in their lives, but taking the "Women's, Infants, Children" program down this path is way overboard.. Nearly 80% of the money assigned to such a program will spend  on salary/benefits/unneeded personnel&vehicles , while the people in need will only get about 20% of that money trickled down to them. Instead, let screened family menbers/friends/neighbors be allowed to volunteer to help by getting the coupons and shopping for them.

L-E headline/story: "JUDGE IN CITY LAWSUITS STEPS DOWN IN ALL 3 CASES" -- Tomlinson called the actions that led to the motion for recusal “a shocking revelation to us.” *  “It was gravely disturbing,” Tomlinson said. “Contrary to a situation where the judge is just being a judge, in this case he was the trier of fact. In this case the judge is also the juror. So this is akin to a lawyer talking to a juror privately about the case, while the juror is impaneled.” -- " akin to a lawyer talking to a juror privately about the case, while the juror is impaneled"? Sorta like making an opening or closing statement?

L-E headline/story: "Columbus schools reach ‘emerging’ status by Department of Education * Emerging status is the second of three recognition levels." -- Hmmm.. and why were these scholls allowed to

Incredulously ignorant LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Republicans don’t hate illegal immigrants as much as some say. In fact, they bend over backwards to assure that illegal immigrants can buy all the guns and ammunition they could ever want while visiting us." -- Good grief.. the DOJ armed illegal aliens before they crossed the border with it's "Fast & Furious" program!

Friday, January 22, 2016

Online headline/story: "The editor of National Review organized an 'anti-Trump manifesto' that hit newsstands Friday -- and the 2016 front-runner is fighting back. *  Trump "is not deserving of conservative support in the caucuses and primaries. Trump is a philosophically unmoored political opportunist who would trash the broad conservative ideological consensus within the GOP in favor of a free-floating populism with strong-man overtones," an article written by the Editors titled "Against Trump," -- You know, even Buckley has been mesmerized into a coma about what conservatism is..probably explains his waning influence as an editorialist and magazine.

Ah! Buffalo Wild Wings and its "Gun Ban" sign...my bride and I used to go there and enjoyed the buffalo chicken salads.. Now we don't go there because of the "Gun Ban" sign.. I'm an owner, but generally do not carry, but I'd rather know law abiding citizens around me are carrying in case some street thug who cannot read the "Gun Ban sign" comes in with one.

Online story: "Former president Bill Clinton, campaigning for his wife in New Hampshire Wednesday, bluntly admitted how much more difficult than expected Hillary Clinton's race for the Democratic nomination has become." -- You gotta be kidding.. if Slick Willie wasn't to keen at having only her for himself, what makes him feel he can convince other folks that they want her for themselves?

---
Interestly, there's an icon on my browser homepage asking me to "click on it" and say "I'm with Hillary" -- Needless to say, I won't click on it, but I wonder even Bill has clicked on it.

Did you see the report about the four Million Dollar Plus estates that the Clintons have bought since he left office? Oh, and did you see the report about how buying expensive homes is a favorite way big time criminals like to launder money? Trust me..these are separate articles.

Online headline/story: "North Korea detains U.S. student on New Year trip for 'hostile act' * Otto Frederick Warmbier, 21, of the University of Virginia, was in North Korea for a five-day New Year trip and was detained at Pyongyang airport on Jan. 2 ahead of a flight back to China, said Gareth Johnson of Young Pioneer Tours, which organized the visit." -- First .. why is a US company allowed to arrange travel packages into N. Korea to begin with? My guess is it's owned/controlled by a NERO-bamaggedon or Clinton supporter but I'm only speculating.  Now, let's just pray that Kerry does not lead a negotiating team.. he'll give Kim Jong Un ICBMs to carry the nuclear weapons N Korea already has developed.

Online story: "A recent high school graduate says he was turned away from the Marines because his Confederate flag tattoo made him ineligible. * "I kind of felt like I had a plan for my life, and now that I can't go, I am not sure where I stand," the 18-year-old told KARK. * Anthony Bauswell says he went to a recruiting center on Monday to enlist and when he told them about the tattoo, the recruiter said, "DQ, just automatically, DQ." -- "automaticically DQ"? Talk about "profiling"! Now does the US Marines have the same policy about recruits with "gang tattoos", tattooed Aremaic words, or "Black Lives Matter" tattoos et al?

Online story: "Though it is customary to send flowers in honor of the recently deceased, the obituary of Jeffrey Cohen, a Pittsburgh chiropractor, notes a preferred alternative. * The recent announcement of his death and funeral service closes with the request, "Jeffrey would ask that in lieu of flowers, please do not vote for Donald Trump." -- Of course, no one actually knows whether Cohen made this request or whether it was by a relative, but one probable thing is that Jeffrey Cohen has been a lifelong Democrat, and will continue to a be an afterlife Democratic voter. The  Republicans should specifically scrutinize PA voter rolls for Jeffrey Cohen ...forever!

I just saw the lyingest statement I think I've ever heard...G.I JILLary and Slick Willie and Robert Gibbs and NERO-bamageddon included. Heck even throw in John Edwards and Algore.. According to CarMD, Chrysler has the 5th best record on average repair costs to buyers dating from 1996-2015.. All I can add is that the Mercedes-Benz vehicles made when Chrysler owned it were not include. WE got rid of one we bought in 2004, and what we spent outside of warrenty repairs are enough to have bought a new n=mid-sized Chrysler.

The decision Wednesday by Judge Thomas Campbell is the result of a lawsuit brought against the city by a Decatur-based manufacturer of body cameras that accuses the APD of steering its body camera contract toward two other companies in what the lawsuit calls an “erroneous, arbitrary, [and] capricious” manner." -- What BS.. what's happened is that ambulance chasing lawyers no longer can get settlements on wrongful accusation of police impropriety!

Hmmm..you know, if Bernie becomes president, and every one goes to college free, how can Harvard survive?

---
Let me get this right...liberals are opposed to American companies going to foreign countries and giving foreigners good jobs and economic security, yet support foreigners coming here illegally and taking away job opportunities of Americans. You know, I'm beginning to understand JILLary's battle cry if "What Difference Does It Make", and I'm a little bit scared.

G.I. JILLary says a president has to be based in reality...Hmmm..hey, JILLary..when you're comparing yourself to Bernie, what difference does it make!

Online headline: "Japan absolutely refuses to take in muslim refugees, says it must look after its own citizens FIRST" -- Hmmm.. wanna bet that Bernie and Hillary argue who will be the first to ship Japanese-Americans back to Japan and give their spots and jobs to Syrian refugees?

OK.. looks like GA DOT officials are out marking the area that will become the River Road, Baradley Park Drive/ Green Island Dive/ Cascade Road "roundabout".. funny.. the marl]kers are nowhere close to the original measurements I saw from Glenn Davis..  Looks like they may even infringe on his property,  but there will be about three houses that will not be able to get out of their driveways during "rush hours". Seeing how long it's taken for the Moon Road, Whittlesey Road widening, and Veteran Parkway improvements, school buses and logging trucks may have to find alternative routes for the next 3 or 4 years. The simple solution, and would only cost

L-E headline/story: "STATE OF THE CITY ADDRESS * ‘We are too big to be small’ * Mayor Lowe says Phenix City continuing to surge under new council * Over the last four years, Phenix City has reduced debt and ended 2015 with a $9.2 million fund balance in a growing city *  Since 2012, Lowe said the fund balance is a good measure of the city’s health, increasing from $6.5 million in 2012 to $9.2 million at the end of 2015, a 42 percent increase. * Long-term debt for the city has been reduced from $54.4 million since 2012 to $51.4 million * " -- I asked Mayor Lowe when he spoke at a First Baptist Church of Columbus event a year plus ago if he would consider moving to Columbus and running for mayor here.. He laughed and said he was content in Phenix City.. How about all you BCers contacting him and talk him into changing his mind..

Incredibly stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "   I wonder why Democratic town meetings look more like America, whereas Republican meetings look more like NASCAR events. Just saying." -- Probably because the Democrats won't let anyone in without being chosen to get a ticket for the event.

---
Incredibly double-stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " I love Leonard Pitts’ column! His column in the Sunday paper is the first thing I look for. I hope the Ledger-Enquirer keeps him." -- So, he'she is the one! Of course, if we look closer, it's a s\"soundoff" sent in by Pitts himself.

From the L-E's Today in history" feature: "In 2008, actor Heath Ledger was found dead of an accidental prescription overdose in New York City; he was 28." -- Good grief.. there are deaths by overdose, but calling one "accidental" is wrong.. It's no accident when one chooses to put too many in his body.

L-E opinion piece: "Compensation for Iran hostages is belated justice" --  What has brought this up 35 years later? and, why is compensation deserved? I'm already to replace Isakson if somebody challenges him in the primary, so step up you political scavengers! Oh, and if such is deserved, why hasn't it been withheld from the Iranian moneys NERO-bamageddon just returned to them instead of funds from a French bank?

From the "let's look at it only from the viewpoint that suits out agenda best" department - L-E headline: "What if your relatives lived in Cuba?" -- Hmmm... OK.. how about what if your relatives died in the Spanish_American War to get freedom that Castro took from them? Or, What about having a relative who was an American soldier who went there to help Cubams free themselves from Spain only to later see Castro take away that freedom.. Castro is/was a Communist dictator. No mercy to him or his regime.

A fellow BCer brought up a question for Mayor TomLYINGson to answer..In the last 30 years of no job growth, did the tax freeze or cheap foreign labor send all our mill jobs overseas? I'd like to throw her another question...how come the principles at the WC Bradley Charbroil Division a stay in their "tax freeze" homes when they sent all their grill production (and mainstream jobs) to China?

---
From another fellow BCer: If her majesty (Queen TT) was as concerned about reducing crime as she is about lifting the freeze there would be no crime in Columbus. Anyone who thinks property taxes will be reduced if the freeze is lifted I have some Pacific Ocean beach front property in Arizona I'd like to sell you or you can buy the thirteen street bridge and make a toll road out of it.

---
Since we're talking about tax revenues, would someone from the MCSD/MCSB tell us exactly how much SPLOST tax revenue has been received into the school system from ticket sales at Whitewater?  A la Jeopardy. "What is ZERO?"  For that matter, neither City LOST or the states T-SPLOST  gives a cent either.

Hey Mayor TomLYINGson... how much in budget saving have "we" realized in fuel savings with gas being so much lower than when your budget was made? (Smile.. I know you get all of the BC blog info I post)

Online story: " Hurricanes in the Atlantic and Caribbean oceans will grow more than twice as powerful and damaging as ocean temperatures rise from global warming, a new study says. * Warming seas could produce more rainfall and far more destructive storm surges of water along the ocean shorelines in the next 50 to 100 years, said the study by U.S. scientists published this week in the journal Geophysical Research Letters. * "It could affect the entire Atlantic coast," said William Lau, a co-author and research associate at the University of Maryland's Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center." -- Hurricanes have been "tracked" since 1851... Pop Test: Are "double digit" annual hurricanes in the North Atlantic a product of "Global Warming/Climate Change"?  No cheating... and especially, no checking with Algore or the NERO-bamageddon Administration.. Grant you, 2005 leads with 15, and there were 10 & 12 in 2012 & 2010 respectfully, but there have been 10 other years in which "double digit Hurricanes" have been recorded.. 1969 saw 12, , and there were 11 each in 1995, 1950, and 1887, while 1998, 1933, 1916, 1896, 1886, and 1870 saw 10 apiece..somehow, I do not think the science world  thought "man" was responsible for the hurricanes of most of these years with high hurricane activity, and if weather recorders then had today's detection instuments, there would probably been more storms designated as Hurricanes then than today.

From the "stupid is as stupid does" department - Online headline: "FBI's 9 most wanted fugitives are still on the run" -- DOH! If the FBI is still looking for them, of course they are "on the run"... and will be until caught!
Oh, by the way, Jada Pinkett Smith, there are no blacks among the FBI's 9 most wanted fugitives.. are you going to complain about that as well?

---
Oh, has anybody heard if our Police Department has captured/arrested the third suspect in the brutal triple homicide in Upatoi? Hey, maybe we can get Jada Pinkett Smith to put the suspects picture on the FBI list!

Jada Pinkett Smith... name me one white person nominated for the BET Awards, or one white contestant in the Miss Black America pageant...

Jada Pinkett Smith... who ya gonna vote for in the Democratic primary... the white Socialist male..the white Socialist (what difference does it make) female, or the other white stage prop that keeps JILLary in the center of the stage in debates?

Online headline/story: "Harvard just proposed a radically new approach to college admissions in America *
The Harvard Graduate School of Education released a report Wednesday endorsed by dozens of other schools that proposes radical changes to the way colleges evaluate prospective students. * The proposal seeks to make college admissions less of a rat race that favors well-off students, and it has three specific recommendations to achieve this goal:

Promoting more meaningful contributions to others, community service and engagement with the public good.
Assessing students' ethical engagement and contributions to others in ways that reflect varying types of family and community contributions across race, culture and class.
Redefining achievement in ways that both level the playing field for economically diverse students and reduce excessive achievement pressure.
Despite colleges' efforts to have diverse student bodies, students from poor families are still rare on the campuses of elite colleges in America

Hmmmm... guess Harvard is eliminating "keeping score by grades"...

I can only surmise that Harvard is feeling an economic pinch that alumni are finding it harder to make a sizable donation so their offspring will get preferential admission treatments, and they don't have grades/GPAs to qualify on their own.

No Republicans voted against the bill, and only two Democrats backed it.  * Republicans said the tighter screening was essential to ensure the safety of Americans and prevent attacks within the country by Islamic State and other militant groups. * Democrats called the legislation an attack on people who are fleeing war." -- "an attack on people who are fleeing war"?  Good grief..let's parse reality...
1 - It over 6,700 miles to get to America.. Syria abuts Iraq, and Iraq abuts Saudia Arabia
2 - Republicans want tight screening of individual refugees to prove they are not terrorist invaders
3 - All but 2 Democrats want to allow such terrorist to come and go as they please.

Show your preference..." terrorists out or terrorists in" when you go to vote this year!

Online story:"A contractor in Louisiana is discovering that no good deed goes unpunished. After David Mahler, the owner of H&O Investments, was hired by the city of New Orleans to remove monuments to the rebellious Confederate States of America, he was subjected to death threats. Then his Lamborghini was set on fire. * What's bizarre here is the sequence of events. The death threats started rolling in after Mahler was announced as the city's contractor to remove monuments to Confederate Generals Robert E. Lee, PGT Beauregard, and Confederate States of America President Jefferson Davis. Then the threatening phone calls started rolling in, New Orleans NBC affiliate WDSU reports. Mahler then pulled his company out of the job, but that didn't stop the torching of the new Huracán" -- Wait a minute.. what about the removal of the "White Man's League Memorial? You would think that it would have deserved removal far more urgently than stautes of 3 generals. Maybe it's because the White Man's League  was an element of the Democratic Party, and current Democrats are trying to dodge history and the truth.

Collaborative info: "The White League, also known as the White Man's League,[1] was an American white supremacist paramilitary terrorist organization started in 1874 to turn Republicans out of office and intimidate freedmen from voting and political organizing. Affiliated with the Democratic Party, its first chapter was formed in Grant Parish, Louisiana and neighboring parishes, made up of many of the Confederate veterans who had participated in the Colfax massacre in April 1873. Chapters were soon founded in New Orleans and other areas of the state. Active during the later years of Reconstruction, it was one of the paramilitary groups described as "the military arm of the Democratic Party."[2] Through violence and intimidation, its members suppressed Republican voting and contributed to the Democrats' taking control of the Louisiana Legislature in 1876.[2] * After white Democrats regained control of the state legislature in 1876, members of the White Leagues were absorbed into the state militias and the National Guard.[3]

Online headline: "Education groups lining up to fight Georgia governor's plan for failing schools " -- DOH! This alone tells us the Governor's plans already don't go far enough.. Not surprisingly.. the "education groups"are State and local school boards and associations.. they are the ones that will have their only power stripped.. being able to distribute money and assign bids to contractors.. It also means that the Governor should demand forensic audits on every school board/school system .. beginning with the first complainers.

L-E story: "Along with approving the $56 million budget for a new Spencer High School, the Muscogee County School Board also authorized the purchase of 9.23 acres, which contain Country Village Apartments on Cusseta Road, for $525,000 to expand the land for the new school and a multi-sport athletics complex that will be constructed next to it.  * The late Tuesday vote on the new Spencer budget was 6-2. First-term board members John Thomas of District 2 and Frank Myers of District 8 said they were opposed because Superintendent David Lewis’ recommendation didn’t include a guarantee of local contractors nor oversight of cost overruns." -- Thomas and Myers are right.. everything possible should be done to distribute work to local companies so that money paid out will recirulate in Columbus and participate in paying the SPLOST taxes that will pay for the totally unnecessary new Spencer.

From above story: " • $180,000 for construction testing.  •  $25,000 for environmental and geotechnical expenses.   •  $25,000 for surveying" -- You would think that the MCSD would have tested the soil and such  BEFORE buying/acquiring the land, and before using that site to sway voters during the referendum.

Double incredibly stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Obama is not “leaving a mess” for the next president. He inherited a mess, and very few on Capitol Hill have tried to help him clean it up." -- Well the ones that could have helped in his first two years were all Democrats.. and when the voters replaced those Congress members with Republicans, NERO-bamageddon pulled the "welcome mat" from the White House door.

---
Dense and stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Every last vote from the House of Representatives is straight down the party line. Get rid of these people in the next election and get someone new. Doesn’t matter if they are Republican or Democrat.: -- It's not quite that simple.. it seems the votes go along the "what's good for America" line, and the Democrats are just on the wrong side on those votes.

---
Another incredibly stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " These supposedly educated, intelligent people seem to think they are always correct and must lead us illiterate masses by the nose because we aren’t smart enough to breathe. Heaven help us if they are elected." -- Yopu know.. if you let someone lead you around by your nose, you probably deserve your lot in life.. the remedy is just not stick your nose up any orifice that can grasp on to it..

---
Potentially a LIV's L-E "soundoff" that would serve the public good if "tweaked" a bit: " Leave Bill & Hillary alone and get a life of your own." -- How about if we leave JILLary alone with Bill for about 15 minutes in the closet off the Oval Office following the Vermont primary?

L-E story: "Abortion and race, two of America’s most volatile topics, have intersected in recent flare-ups related to the disproportionately high rate of abortion among black women. *  In Congress, Rep. Sean Duffy, a white Republican from rural Wisconsin, lambasted black members of Congress for failing to decry these high abortion numbers. *  The next day, Rep. Gwen Moore, a black Democrat from Milwaukee, fired back — accusing Duffy and his GOP colleagues of caring about black children only before they are born." -- Hmmm... OK. Democrat Congressperson Moore.. would show us exactly how you have cared about black children after they are born? Have you made their education path better? Have you improved job opportunities for the parents of these babies? Have you made it safer or the babies to grow up in neighborhoods? You brought it up.. tell us what you've personally done...
