Online story: "At a CNN town hall meeting, Sanders argued that his own judgment, not Clinton's experience, is the most crucial quality for the next commander-in-chief. *  Clinton, in response, evoked President Barack Obama, saying when he selected her to be secretary of state he gave approval to her judgment. * "You have to have somebody who is a proven, proven fighter," Clinton said." -- "a proven, proven fighter"? Ask the families of Ambassador Stevens and Sean Smith and Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods..

---
From above story: "Anxious to put down a threat from the democratic socialist, Clinton faced the challenge of convincing Democratic voters not to be swayed by Sanders' populist rhetoric and to stick with her despite a clamor for candidates outside the political establishment" -- "Anxious to put down a threat from the democratic socialist"? Good grief.. even G.I. JILLary couldn't explain the difference to Chris "leg tingling" Matthews..once again, Hey, JILLary, what's the difference!

---
From above story: "Clinton argues that while Sanders' goals on issues such as social inequality are laudable, some are unobtainable and he lacks the experience to tackle a wide range of issues." -- "some are unobtainable"? "unobtainable? Why do "social issue" voters believe her when she actually tells the truth about being able to legislate social issues solutions?

---
From a similar story as above:
Online headline/story: "Young voter confronts Hillary Clinton: People my age say you're 'dishonest'"  *  At a CNN town-hall event Monday night, a student confronted Clinton about the perception that she is dishonest.
"I've heard from quite a few people my age that say you're dishonest," said the supporter, who described himself as a supporter of Sanders. *  He proceeded to ask her about what he perceived as an enthusiasm gap among young people for Clinton's campaign vs. Sanders'. * Clinton said she was "totally happy to see young people involved in any way." But she said she wanted voters to know that she believes she's frequently attacked because she fights for progressive causes. * "I've been around a long time, people have thrown all kinds of things at me. I can't keep up with it," Clinton said. "They come up with these outlandish things, they make these charges, I just keep going forward because there's nothing to it, they throw all this stuff at me and I am still standing."" -- "I've been around a long time...people have thrown all kinds of things at me... I can't keep up with it"?  Well, among all the things that "all kind of things" have been thrown at her, I cannot remember one person telling her she appears to be honest and forthcoming...By the way.. she never actually addressed it "honestly".

One other issue in the Clerk of Council's Agenda for today's Council meeting.. "Certificate of Need submitted by the Columbus Diagnostic Imaging Center LLC for a MRI scanner. Why is this a Council issue? Surely the nearly 200,000 Columbusites who are not City employees aren't paying for private use medical equipment for City employees...

You know, if G.I. JILLary is such a equal rights for women and men issued person, why hasn't she let Bernie or O'Malley share time at the center podium?

---
You know, if G.I. JILLary was a leader for women's equality. why doesn't she wear skirts during the debates/town hall meetings?

---
Online headline: "Christie faces criticism after storm" -- Doh! Christie faces criticism BEFORE the storm, too.

---
Online headline: "Major city could take days to clean up after epic storm" -- YOu got to be kidding me.. this is talking about Washington, DC.. Covered in knee-deep snow and physically "shut down" is as "clean" as Washington, DC can get...Unfortunately, politicians, those hot-air machines, will reconvene and melt away what's there.

Online story: "Danny DeVito is the latest actor to chime in on the controversy surrounding the 2016 Oscars after the acting categories featured all white nominees for the second year in a row.  * "It's unfortunate that the entire country is a racist country," the 71-year-old star told the Associated Press at the Sundance Film Festival on Saturday. "This is one example of the fact that even though some people have given great performances in movies they weren't even thought about." -- Good grief.. is this another "short issue" as well.. Guess DeVito feels he has been "overlooked" compared to taller actors. I have liked DeVito in past roles, but ain't gonna bother to see anything else .. I appreciate good performances that drive a movie and you feel the actor/actress is actually the person he/she is portraying, but when you recognize a performance by one because that's the only aspect of acting (playing themselves) hey know, then it's not a great performance..

Online headline/story: "Ian McKellen thinks gay people are 'disregarded' in Hollywood * Sir Ian McKellen doesn't think black people are the only group ignored by Hollywood, and said gay people are also being "disregarded." * "As a representative of the industry they're in, it's receiving complaints which I fully sympathize with," the 76-year-old actor told Sky News in response to the #OscarsSoWhite backlash. "It's not only black people who've been disregarded by the film industry, it used to be women, it's certainly gay people to this day. And these are all legitimate complaints and the Oscars are the focus of those complaints, of course."" -- Good grief, How are women ignored when they have specific categories they can win.. of course, McKellen may feel Caityn Jenner was subbed.. You know, I think tall people like me who have no singing ability are discriminated agaoinst by Hollywood, too. Get over it, and work harder at being a better actor.

While we're at it.. did Jada Pinkett Smith or Spike Lee.. even Danny DeVito mention that Cheryl Boone Issacs has represented the Public Relations Branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, known for its annual Academy Awards (Oscars), on the AMPAS Board of Governors for 21 years as of 2013. On July 30, 2013 she was elected as the 35th president of AMPAS.[1] Boone Isaacs is the first African American to hold this office, and the third woman (after Bette Davis and Fay Kanin)... Looks like the Academy does recognize "talent" regardless of color..

From the "wait a minute.. we won but it's the worst thing that could have happened" department - Online headline/story: "Anti-abortion activists indicted in Texas for Planned Parenthood video * The grand jury reviewed the case for more than two months and its decision was a result of a probe launched last year under Texas Governor Greg Abbott, a Republican, who accused Planned Parenthood of the "gruesome harvesting of baby body parts." * "After a lengthy and thorough investigation by the Harris County District Attorney's Office, the Texas Rangers, and the Houston Police Department, a Harris County grand jury took no action Monday against Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast," the Harris County District Attorney's office said in a statement. *  David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt were indicted by the grand jury for tampering with a governmental record, said prosecutors for the county in which Houston is located. The felony charge is punishable by up to 20 years in prison. * The two were involved in covert videos last year in which a Planned Parenthood official discussed the procurement of fetal tissue." -- Planned Parenthood must be in shock! Now it will have all the discussions and videos and testimonies live and under oath in a law suit, and tere's no way the two patriots will be convicted of a crime, while the crimes of Planned Parenthood will be fully exposed.

Super Bowl 50 ..the committee made a good call. With the Broncos playing the Panthers, being named the Super Bowl L champs brings the "Loser" title a little to close to reality.

---
Jeb Bush doesn't get it..he's talking about how much he takes on Trump so voters should like him more than the other candidates..What Jeb hasn't grasped is that the voters like what Trump is saying, and Jeb should be concentrating on meeting voter needs and bashing G.I. JILLary.

The best way to get this country's budget back in sync with incoming revenues would be to stop letting Congresspersons from adding pork riders and other pet projects to good, needed legislation.

---
That latest jail escape in California makes me want to call Senator Feinstein and ask her to write a new law..one that holds the warden and supervisory guards responsible. They aren't gonna be fired (Unions) so how about making all.the costs of recapturing them be deducted from their pension plan..so they pay the citizens back before receiving any retirement checks.

Online headline/story: "Girls basketball team gets booted from league for being too good * Minnesota youth basketball team has been ejected from a league for being too good and now the coach, parents and players are crying foul.  * The Rogers Area Youth Basketball Association girls high school team was forced to the sidelines by the Northwest Suburban Basketball League -- and it’s all because the team is 3-0" --

Hmm.. too talented ... or did Jada Pinkett Smith evoke the "not enough diversity" trump card?

Online story: "The cost of the University of Georgia’s meal plan won’t go up next year. * “In the interest of affordability, I am pleased to announce that the University will extend the freeze on food services rates for a third year in a row and also extend the ongoing freeze on parking rates,” UGA President Jere Morehead said Wednesday in the university president’s annual “State of the University” speech in the UGA Chapel." -- Good grief.. the "food plans" have been rapish for years, and the cost of a guest's meal is outrageous. Please not he did not put a freeze on dorm costs or the "fees" (other than parking.. but the U System of GA already has over active metermaids and huge fines.

---
Online headline: "Gwinnett seeks $12.3 million in state grants to upgrade transit system" -- Good greif.. if a government transit system cannot make a profit (or at least cover ongoing maintenance) then the rates should be raised until they do, and if ridership drops off, then close down the systems.

---
Online headline/story: "Scot Turner’s idea: No conviction, no forfeiture of your stuff *  Rep. Scot Turner, R-Holly Springs, today will file legislation that contains what on its face seems like a no-brainer: The government cannot seize your stuff unless you’re convicted of a crime.  *  Civil forfeiture is essentially the ability of law enforcement to seize cash and property it suspects was used in the commission of a crime."  - There is nothing more evil than the ability of law enforcement to confiscate assets of someone j=ust because someone is suspected of committing a crime that a jury has not processed. It's bad enough on families driving through states and getting charged with even petty crimes and find their vehicle and cash assets confiscated. Of course, the worst violator is the IRS.. it can decide out of the blue that it disagrees with your "math" and can put a hold on all your assets until you prove yourself innocent. IRS has no need to prove you are guilty if they feel you are.

---
Online story: "Savannah, GA owners of commercial property would see their tax increases limited under legislation Sen. Lester Jackson announced Monday to the visiting Mayor Eddie DeLoach and members of the City Council and school board." -- Can we draft Senator Lester Jackson into out legislative delegation? Ours seems to feel we never pay enough property taxes.. Oh, did I say that Jackson was a Democrat? Guess he's fighting for re-election.

---
L-E headline/story: "Defense argues against showing jury gory photos  * Prosecutors: Court OKs showing jurors crime scene, autopsy images *  Jurors in the death penalty trial of Brandon Conner may need stout constitutions to withstand the evidence they’ll be shown. * That’s because the evidence may include photos of the charred bodies of Conner’s 32-year-old girlfriend Rosella “Mandy” Mitchell and their 6-month-old son Dylan Conner, found Aug. 21, 2014, in their burned 1324 Winifred Lane home." -- Thnak goodness for Judge Rumor!  Hope maybe the jury will come to the proper verdict quicker.. Murder is one thing.. a very gruesome "one thing" but to mutilate and destroy the victims' bodies after the fact is awful.. it show there is absolutely no respect for life and no remorse in the killer.
---
L-E story: "The time has come to look at the old lady and admit she is long past her prime. No one is going to ask her to dance, and it is false hope to think that someone will. * What are we talking about? Golden Park. *  Golden Park has not been home to a professional baseball team since 2008." --
Good grief.. I made this point in 1990.. I suggested that Golden Park be razed as it was the perfect location for a new Civic Center.. it would have an impressive sight crossing over the Oglethorpe bridge, and would anchor Broadway's attempt to remake itself an important scene for new hotels and restaurants.  At the same time, I suggested that a new baseball/outdoor music facility be constructed on (now) Veterans Parkway at the Northlake complex, and make a bid to get Olympic baseball games for the 1996 Atlanta games... Land had been put together with options in hopes that would have been a Walmart choice. At that time, there was a $1.8 Million dollar renovation scheduled for Golden Park,,, I suggested that be scrapped and applied to another $5 Million which would have covered the estimated cost of the new facility. Council and business got excited for a while, but then decided to spend the $1.8 Million on renovating Golden Park instead... because it was cheaper.. 3 years later, Atlanta approached Columbus to pawn off it's Olympic Softball division. Mayor/Council jumped all over it, and added $5 Miilion to the $1.8 Million already approved, and put a major band-aid on Golden Park. That basically ended professional baseball in Columbus.. It was a poor choice then and today it just shows how bad a choice that was. Just imagine what an asset the new  baseball/outdoor music venue would still be today.. also imagine how Broadway would be with it being a primary beneficiary of Civic Center events..

Incredibly .. no double/triple stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "How are there still people without insurance? It’s free for those who can’t afford it. If anyone’s too lazy to make a toll-free call, then they don’t deserve it. Get a job!" -- Good grief, I'm willing to bet this person signed up this year for the first time and just hasn't got his first payment statement ..or hasn't used it and been hit with the co-pay..
---
Random thought: Why is there such an uproar in the black community about the number of blacks incarcerated in our jails? Chances are, those incarcerated committed a crime against another black person... with this being known, why are blacks less likely to cooperate with police in getting street thugs/gangs off the streets?
---
L-E headline: "Florida State settles with Winston accuser * School to pay Erica Kinsman $250,000, her lawyers $700,000" -- Good grief.. tell me there was actually justice served somewhere in this fiasco! All I see is higher ticket prices.
---
L-E story: "Communications revealed in an affidavit Sheriff John Darr’s attorneys were forced to turn over to the city of Columbus’ attorneys indicate Darr’s lawsuit against the city is a “test case,” orchestrated with the Georgia Sheriff’s Association to broaden the powers of that office statewide, and at local taxpayers’ " -- Good grief.. cannot Mayor TomLYINGson just admit she wrongly ignored the state laws? I'm beginning to think we need to petition to have her first name legally changed to "Hillary".

L-E headline: "Muscogee County principal leaving for another Chattahoochee Valley school" --  I've known Alton White since he was a first year Little League ballplayer.. He's was a fine young man and has grown into a fine adult.. The MCSD loses in his move to Troup County..  You can bet Dr Lewis will never match up to the accolades Alton White will receive from citizens. students and friends alike..
