Online headline: "EXCLUSIVE: Chris Rock not dropping out of Oscars, rewriting monologue to address #OscarsSoWhite outrage" -- I have an announcement, too. For the at least 30th year in a row, I will be boycotting the Oscars again regardless of who is hosting or has.has not been nominated. In fact, I may start boycotting movies in general since the last go-round of price increases.. I can pop my own popcorn to put in my "bucket", and buy the theater's $4.25 + .34 cents in taxes box of candy for $1.08 at Target, and show a PPV/Netflix, or Red Box movie on my big screen..

---
I also predict that  movie producers will cut theaters out of the mix..oh, there'll be some interest in some Imax spectaculars, but opening weekends at theaters will become petty change compared to reaching families and friends at home.

---
As far as I'm concerned, the Oscars can award participation trophies to everyone  who worked on a movie and it still wouldn't satisfy whiners... or get me to watch.

---
You know, if there needs to  be a threat by Hollywooders, it needs to be from women.. yes, women putting their feet down before Caitlyn Jenner gets a nomination

---
Made earlier mention of the markers being set out to designate the parameters of the roundabout scheduled for River Road/Bradley Park/et al late last week.. went by slowly on Saturday, and saw there are even deeper placed stakes than I first observed.. so much for it being a slight diversion of traffic with a $1 Million dollar price tag.. this will be huge ... and costly, and neighbors sucked in originally are going to feel raped when it's finished.

---
L-E's "Thought for Today": “I think of a hero as someone who understands the degree of responsibility that comes with his freedom.” — Bob Dylan." -- Wow.. I think I'll get my Dylan albums back out and listen.. Obviously he's no longer a liberal.

Online story: "Sen. Marco Rubio is admitting to a crime spree. *  His campaign released a sarcastic video after an article in The Washington Post reported he was arrested in 1990 for being in a public park after it was closed. His campaign said the then-18-year-old was also drinking beer.  *  Since the beginning of his campaign, Rubio has accused papers of reporting on what he considers trivial issues from his past." -- God grief.. if the WaPo just reported the surface facts about G.I.JILLary's clandestined maneuvers, it would not have time left to dig into the facts, much less time to research Rubio.

---
Online story: "Last June, the New York Times outlined Rubio's large debts and his tendency to make big purchases, like an $80,000 boat, despite being in debt." -- Good grief.. if JILLary had purchased a boat with the profits from turning $1,000.00  into $100,000.00 playing options, the newspaper would have said she was probably buying a boat to get illegal aliens from Cuba to American soil..

Getting the current Mayor TomLYINGson version of the tax freeze assault is not what she's interested in for the long-term. What she wants is to have voters override the amendment that established the current rules. Once that is done, a simple challenge to the new split regulations involving similar valued homes in the same neighborhood will override the original protection she claims is part of her plan. Ultimately, I believe she is interested in getting rid of the homestead exemption.. think of the windfall revenue the City would get if your City taxes matched the MCSD portion of your tax bill.

Best positive bumper sticker of the current primary season belongs to Cruz: "TrusTED".

---
Why did Democrats even scheduling debates? Let's face it, how can they complain about what's happened under NERO-Amsterdam's administration when they promise to keep his programs going?

---
Golf...the old Bob Hope Desert Classic has become the Career Builder Classic..with a sub-sponsorship of the Clinton Foundation. I'd say this is "about par" for what I'd expect from the Clinton's .. spending money from their foundation of golf rather than helping people in need...

---
L-E headline/story: "Facial recognition software could help save right whales *  NOAA fisheries biologist Christin Khan ...(says) the software could provide real-time identification of individuals among the nearly 500 right whales known to exist. She says that could be an invaluable time saver for protecting a species so endangered that every single individual is considered vital to its survival." -- Good grief.. wouldn't this money be better spent identifying homeless veterans and getting them help... or at identifying voters trying to commit voter fraud.. and help EVERY American citizen/taxpayer? .. Oh,, what next, "fin prints" and dental records?

---
Stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "I’m so tired of politics and politicians, I’m not going to turn on my television until after the election." -- Gotta be a Democrat.. already knows he/she will vote for G.I. JILLary regardless..

---
Online story: "California Attorney General Kamala Harris has joined New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman in trying to prosecute ExxonMobil for supposedly lying to its shareholders and the public about climate change, according to the Los Angeles Times. The Times reported that Harris is investigating what ExxonMobil “knew about global warming and what the company told investors.” * Neither Harris nor Schneiderman recognizes the outrageousness of what they are doing—which amounts censoring or restricting speech and debate on what is a contentious scientific theory. In fact, they want not just to stop anyone who questions the global warming theory from being able to speak; they want to punish them with possible civil sanctions or even criminal penalties. As I said before about Schneiderman, Harris needs a remedial lesson in the First Amendment." -- Harris and Schneiderman must have learned Constitutional law under NERO-bamageddon.

From the Columbus City Manager's Agenda for Council: " GO! TRANSIT CAPITAL PROGRAM GRANT: Approval is requested to submit an application and accept if approved a Go! Transit Capital Program Grant in the amount of $6 million, with no local match required, from the State Road and Tollway Authority for the purpose of providing the necessary funding for the environmental studies needed to develop a high-speed rail service between Columbus and Atlanta. *  For the past four years the Mayor’s Commission for Passenger Rail has explored the possibility of establishing high-speed rail between Columbus and Atlanta. From these efforts, a feasibility study was conducted in 2014 to show that intercity rail between the two cities was not only doable, but would be profitable as well. " --  "a feasibility study was conducted in 2014 to show that intercity rail between the two cities was not only doable, but would be profitable as well"? -- Gimmee a break! Show me ANY government backed transit program (Metra/AmtrakBike Trail et al) that even breaks even, much less turns a profit! But I can be persuaded.. first let Mayor TomLYINGson show that she can run the Aquacenter at a profit.. that should be a lot easier than a train, because the Aquacenter doesn't move!

---
From the City Manager's Agenda: " COLUMBUS UMPIRES ASSOCIATION: Approval is requested to authorize the use of Columbus Umpires Association as a vendor for officiating games with the Columbus Parks and Recreation Department at a current cost of $23 per umpire per game for adult league softball and $24 per game for senior league softball." -- Good grief.. just make each team provide an umpire or have each team provide  $12.00 to pay them.. To be honest.. adults should be able to conduct softball game without any umpires... (NO whining//I was a volunteer umpire in LL for 30 years and never took a penny in pay)

---
Also from the City Manager;s Agenda: " NETWORK CONSULTING SERVICES: It is requested that council approve the purchase of Network Consulting Services from CPAK (Lagrange), in the amount of $45,000. The vender will provide three hundred 300 hours of consulting services for the Information Technology Department." -- Good grief.. with TSYS, Synovus and AFLAC headquartered in Columbus, surely there are IT consulting services in Columbus that can do this.. probably cheaper.

---
E-mail from G.I. JILLary: "My opponent is outspending us on TV advertising, getting in front of more voters at a crucial time -- and he's able to do that because his supporters are stepping up across the board" -- Good grief.. if Bernie is outspending her it's because she thought she could win this with 1-hand tied behind her back so she didn't plan well. On the other hand, she may be concerned that the FBI may "tie" both her hands behind her and she's gonna need that money for her defense.

---
On the front page of the Columbus L-E today, there's a scene shot "on Henry Street in the Chinatown neighborhood of New York"... hmmm in this day and time, wouldn't you think  it's  politically incorrect to refer to any neighborhood as "Chinatown"?

---
L-E story: "Motions filed in the capital murder case of a Columbus man accused of killing his wife and infant son before setting their house afire in 2014 reveal some evidence in the case. *  Among those filings are motions to suppress evidence patrol officers found on C*nner after the homicides, when they noticed him sitting in his 2001 BMW 740i on Cedar Avenue off Wynnton Road.' * The officers said they saw that Conner was "nervous, shaking, sweating profusely, and had blood on his face and clothing," according to prosecutors. * Among the defense motions are filings asking Rumer to:

Suppress evidence police got from Conner's cellphone and laptop.

Declare Georgia's murder statute unconstitutional.

Find Conner's indictment insufficient.

Allow no witness to say the manner of death was homicide.

Order prosecutors to show no photographs depicting the victims before the crime, nor any autopsy photos taken afterward.

Find that African-Americans and other minorities were not sufficiently represented on the grand jury that indicted Conner.

Ensure Conner wears no jail uniform or shackles at trial, as that could prejudice the jury.

Bar prosecutors from seeking the death penalty because it would violate the Eighth Amendment prohibition on cruel and unusual punishment.

Issue a gag order prohibiting prosecutors from publicly discussing the case.

--  Good grief.. "no probable cause to detain and search him"? .. Is it just me, but do you remember when defense lawyers were looked at as a knight in shining armor?  Nah.. me neither. And I think the defense lawyers want Jada Pinkett Smith to pick the jurors.

---
L-E story: "James, an Alert and Concerned Reader over on the south side of town, is worried that a section of Booth Street is in danger of collapsing into a drainage creek that runs alongside it. *  Booth Street runs off of Floyd Road next to the Wesley Shopping Center. It runs alongside a large drainage ditch. The banks of the ditch are reinforced with concrete for a couple of hundred yards, but that stops and the banks are just red clay and vegetation from there on." -- Hmmm.. see what happened when Mayor TomLYINGson appointed a Democrat to sit in Red McDaniels' Council seat?  Bet your street needs "fixin", too.

I'll bet that if Red was alive and in Council, the Whittlesey Road widening projetc would have been finish... on schedule

---
Frustrated L-E "soundoff": "   The two professions that deserve our highest respect are teaching and public safety. Yet they are the two that receive the absolute least respect. I truly fear the world we are creating for our children." -- I don't know about our highest respect, but surely honest respect.. unfortunately, their boss is either the School Board or Mayor TomLYINGson, and neither one  listens to their employees or taxpayers.

---
Well informed L-E "soundoff": "   Robert E. Lee opposed slavery more than Washington and Lincoln. Almost accepted Lincoln’s request to command the Union army, but felt duty to defend his homeland. Opposed post-war Confederate Flag displays. Happy Birthday, General Lee." -- Somebody send this to New Orleans... along with the history of the Democratic Party organization known as the "White Man's League".

---
Incredibly stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "   Darr’s and Pierce’s fees come from their decision to sue Council for more of our tax dollars rather than working responsibly within the budget. Thank goodness the city is standing up to them." -- What is it with Democrats.. seems like none of them like to e=read the laws they pass.

---
L-E's " Thought for Today:":  “A first-rate organizer is never in a hurry. He is never late. He always keeps up his sleeve a margin for the unexpected.” — Arnold Bennett, English poet, author and critic (1867-1931)." -- Hmmmm.. obviously, NERO-bamageddon wasn't even a GOOD community organizer...if he was, he'd have no need to write Executive Orders to get things done...

---
Oh! Now that mainscream media has vilified Michigan's Republican Governor, we find out that it wouldn'y have mattered who was the Governor.. Flint's water pipes are the old LEAD-Lined ones of past centuries.. Of course, instead of replacing those deadly water pipes, Flint has what it calls:
:
"Mid Michigan's Premier Basketball Facility
4 - Full Sized Courts
Air Conditioned Facility
Premier Court-side Seating
Separate Lobby and Concession areas/seating"

Put Democrats in charge and you get facilities that drain the coffers .. Just look here in Columbus under Democrat Mayor TomLYINGson.. we have street collapsing due to bad water/sewer pipes, but we have a Bike Trail, Dog Run, Natatorium, the Queen TT Lounge et al operating in "the red". and she wants a 4 Billion dollar high speed train to Atlanta and eliminate our tax protection from people like her.

---
When is the MCSD/MCSB going to discuss  the $600,000.00 improvements for the baseball and softball fields at Columbus High? The only way baseball could spend it's share would be to "Dome it". and there's not even a softball field on the CHS campus.. The softball field CHS uses a Little League files and  is located at Lakebottom Park..

---
Online headline: "Obama's cabinet throws support behind Clinton  * Hillary Clinton hasn't been publicly endorsed by the president yet, but many of his senior officials have joined Team Clinton." -- I guess so.. any Cabinent hanger-arounds when Trump gets there will be met with two words.. "You're Fired!"

---
Online headline: "Government may start putting chips in soldiers' brains" -- Well, it won't happen with a military friendly president! Can you imagine what a disadvantage our soldiers would have in combat... imagine enemy soldiers with "smart" bullets homed in by GPS on out soldiers micro-chip. We already give away too much to the enemy by making out soldiers to hoild their fire until the enemy takes its first shot.

---

Online headline: "Manhunt for 3 California inmates continues * Authorities are continuing their search for three men, who escaped from a maximum-security jail on Friday after making a rope ladder." -- Good grief.. no ladder, handmade particularly, should enable an escape from a maximum security jail..
