Only saw about 10 seconds of NERO-bamageddon's last SOTU oration last night.. and that was by accident.. I thought it would have been over at 10:00 when I switched from a rerun of "Shark Tank" and he was still rambling. You know, I'd love to see him make a presentation on the "Shark Tank"about getting his ideas "funded"..and be questioned by Mark Cuban and Kevin O'Leary.

Reading the recap of NERO-bamageddon's oratory this morning, I'd like to parse his " four questions to the nation" and provide him with the answers:

1 - "First, how do we give everyone a fair shot at opportunity and security in this new economy?" - Answer: Stop draining private sector resources by excessive taxation and regulatory fees.

2 - "Second, how do we make technology work for us, and not against us — especially when it comes to solving urgent challenges like climate change?" -- Answer: Watch Algore's "mockumentary". Nothing he predicted that would be catastrophic by now has happened; and stop being :Chicken Little.. "the sky is NOT falling".

3 - "Third, how do we keep America safe and lead the world without becoming its policeman?" -- Answer: Carry a big stick! Stop being "politically correct", and when we do send "policemen" into other countries to protect our interests, let our "policemen" determine when they should engage in response to what's happening in front of them.

4 - "And finally, how can we make our politics reflect what's best in us, and not what's worst?" -- Make it a criminal amd impeachable offense to make a campaign promise you cannot or will not keep!

The Republicans need to learn how to make SOTU response deliverers look more "human" and likeable.. Using a fixed camera that stays entirely on the speakers face is quite disconcerting.. it  accents every flaw.. real and perceived, of a speaker,  it's like putting a 8X magnifying glass to examine the pores on one's nose.. and quite scary. Governor Haley did fare better than Rubio  or Jindal but I cannot.. will not,  ever forget her perpetual and intentional smile. Sorta reminded me of Max Headroom back in the mid-80s.

Hmmm.. the Lottery is b-a-a-c-c-c-k-k-k-k-! tonight.. projected at $1.5 BILLION to a single winning ticket. I'm only mentioning this again because of the figures I parsed Monday.. The Lottery itself says the odds on winning are 1-in-292,000,000. In other words if every number possible, by the Lottery's figures, at $2,00 a pop. the "cost would be $584,000,000.00 up front. You would be guaranteed the win! Yea,, OK, now you opt for the "single play plan.. that gets you a presentation check with $868,000,000.00 boldly written across it. Before you leave the photo-op, IRS is there and it wants it's 39,6% ($343,728,000.00) and the if you live in one of the 40 states that have state income taxes, you could be hit with up to $90,000,000.00 more. Let's see.. The $1,5 BILLION annuity figure gets ripped to $868,000,000.00 to begin with, then IRS wants $343,728,000.00 and a state may get another $90,000.000.00 so it looks like that$1,5 BILLION looks more like $434,272.000.00.. That still sounds like a lot .. but compared to $1,500,000,000.00, it's somewhat disappointing.. then you remember, you wanted to win so you spent $584,000,000.00, so, in fact, you're actually down $149,728,000.00... and Guido's sons-in-law are looking for you. Me.. I did buy 5 self-pick tickets.. just in case... and if I lose, I can just reduce what I normally tip on the dinner my bride and I will enjoy,, and the waitperson will still be happy as I am a good tipper. All-in-all. the lottery is a good example of how our taxes are handled by the government,, we send in XXXX amount, the government sends back X amount then borrows another Trillion our grandkids will have to pay Guido's sons-in-law's grandkids in the future

You know, if I win the lottery and only have $10.00 thrown into the pot, I'd net about $434,271,990.00 dollars, and I think I'd offer all Congressional Democrats a Million dollars each to step down, and if they didn't want to ACCEPT that offer, I'd set up a Super PAC and fund any Republican challengers a Million dollars in  campaign efforts to beat Democrats that refused my Million dollar offer.  And I'd still have more than enough to share with my favorite charities...

Still grieving a bit as we let our cat Andy slip into the final sleep.. You know.. it takes about 5  peaceful minutes for the Vet's shot to do it's job.. While I'm personally glad that death sentence procedures seem to cause the criminals great stress and pain, why isn't a shot like Andy got (with appropriate dosage) used in criminals' executions?

I liked and could vote for Herman Cain or Condoleezza Rice.. and there were moments I'd jumped on Colin Powell's bandwagon in a flash.. .. let's face.. Geraldo's statement is only correct if he changes it to "Obama Difficulties Proves America Was Not Ready for Obama as President".

Oh.. just for local interests.. my e-mail to Council and top Public Safety officers (Mayor/Police Chief) concerning how many shooting victims we had in Columbus last year (not just the shootings that resulted in death) went unanswered..  Just because we have excellent emergency room treatments, covering up the total  number of shooting victims is not the way to honestly report dangers in the community.
