Online headline: "Buffett: Politicians' views of America are 'dead wrong' -- Yeah.. the one's like NERO-bamageddon and Hillary that he's become addle minded enough to support to the tune of losing $11 BILLION of his worth in the past year..

---
Rubio? More like "Rubi-ZERO"

---
Online story: "U.S. President Barack Obama on Friday made a passionate case for mobile devices to be built in a way that would allow the government to gain access to personal data if needed to prevent a terrorist attack or enforce tax laws." -- Good grief.. NERO-bamageddon believes the IRS is on a par with Homeland Security at protecting us from terrorism.. the truth be told, Americans probably have more to fear from the IRS than ISIS.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "On the fight against HIV and AIDS—and on the people who really started the conversation. * Yesterday, at Nancy Reagan’s funeral, I said something inaccurate when speaking about the Reagans’ record on HIV and AIDS." -- Good grief.. Hillary finally says something true and cannot stand herself!

---
L-E story: "The Columbus Aquatic Center has been a problem child for the city of Columbus since the natatorium was conceived in the late 1990s and delivered in 2013. * An earlier 1999 SPLOST originally called only for a new Olympic pool, but city leaders, with the vigorous encouragement of the local competitive swimming community, opted to upgrade to a full-scale aquatic center, with funding coming from both the 2008 and 1999 SPLOSTs. * In mid-2012, Worsley told Columbus Council that it would cost about $1.2 million a year to operate the center, which also has a diving area and a smaller therapeutic pool, along with locker facilities, a pro shop, concessions and seating for about 900 viewers. * Councilors were shocked at the numbers." -- Just another Mayor TomLYINGson embarrassment that will haunt us unless we get lucky enough for the school system to take it over, and in 20 years or so, the MCSD will let it deteriorate to the point it will be condemned and razed. You know.. since Council was swayed so much by the "competitive swimming community", then Council should set fees that allow the "competitive swimming community" keep the Aquacenter afloat. ... and garnishee the sitting Council/Mayor's salaries, too. Hey.  and don't forget adding a $5.00 parking fee for events like the CivicCenter does!

---
From above story: " “I don’t get a vote in it; it really is a council decision,” Tomlinson said. “But if I were a councilor, I actually believe that the most efficient way for it to be handled would be for Parks and Rec to hire an individual who has a great deal of experience in running natatoriums and programming for facilities of this type." -- Hillary LIVES! Nothing comes up for a vote until Mayor TomLYINGson puts it "on the table", and she could...WOULD.. have cast the 6th vote.

---
Speaking of the Aquacenter.. the first NAIA Swimming/Diving Event has come and gone... without leaving a ripple...now Columbus taxpayers only have another $500,000.00 dollars to lose keeping the AquaticCenter open until next year's NAIA event.

---
Finally some numbers were released about the NAIA .. according to the Convention and Visitors Bureau, it is estimated to have brought in $650,000.00.. Let's see.. 200 swimmers (college students).. add another 100 people for coaches and a few parents (the swimmers are college students!) et al, and divide that into $650,000.00 and we get a figure of over $2,100.00 per person on a two day stay.. The Convention and Visitors Bureau needs more proof of it's estimate.  On top of this, the NAIA has started to back out of next years commitment based on some vital system being cut from the budget .. an electrocution preventer.. It is estimated to cost $50,000.00 to install one as an after thought.. What was Council thinking? It spent over $10,000,000.00 on a failed/failing natatorium. and cut a primary safety system out  to save (and I'm pretty sure it would have cost less to install DURING construction) a few dollars, and Council hadn't even considered the cost of operating the facility in it's haste to build it!

---
Let's parse the Convention and Visitors Bureau's estimate a little more.. The CVB says the event generated an estimate of $650,000.00. Let's say the businesses prospered more than normal and made a 10% profit (5% is more realistic).. thus, $65,000.00 is put into certain businesses' bottom lines. At this rate of return on "investment" Council thinks losing another $500,000.000 (oooops, $550,000 when it has to add the anti-electrocution system that the NAIA will REQUIRE to come back). That means the taxpayers will lose $550,000.00 while a few businesses will profit by $65,000.00  ... that's not a very good business plan... FOR the taxpayers!

---
You know, the person who needs to be excoriated the most about the AquaCenter fiasco is the person who introduced the story about North Carolina Natatorium that was bringing in $42,000,000.00 in revenue annually.

---
Where is Keep Columbus Beautiful. the Lakebottom/Historic Committee, and Save the Trees! With all the protesting in the past that's been done about removing trees and such, why is "Midtown" allowed to put its "flags" along the walking path? Nothing says "nature" like more signs and flags... NOT!

---
L-E headline: "Trump’s responses anger opponents * Hillary Clinton accuses Trump of ‘political arson’ Sanders terms him a ‘pathological liar’" -- S\"Sanders terms him a ‘pathological liar’"? Good grief.. what must Sanders feel about Hillary?

---
This ad has been repeatedly run in the L-E.. considering the amount of Community Unity events that have happened all during this "run", does anybody else see a pattern?

--------------------------------------------------------
Online story: A Maryland police officer was fatally shot in an "unprovoked attack" at a Prince George's County police station outside Washington * the suspect approached the station and opened fire at the first officer he saw. There was no apparent motive for the shooting. *  The wounded suspect was taken to a local hospital and was expected to survive * The second suspect was later apprehended and was being interrogated," --  Good grief.. first. since one of the (_*_)s was shot at the scene, why is he called a "suspect"? Secondly. our police need to get better firearm practice.. there's no way the first killer should have survived nor the second get away unscathed.

---
L-E story: " (Dr.) Lewis is seeking permission to purchase land at 1906 Cherokee Ave. for a parking lot to be constructed for Columbus High School students. * The selling price of the land owned by R. Walker Garrett is $250,000." -- Whoa! This property was bought in July of 2103, less than 3 years ago, for $154,000.00 and now the MCSD Superintendent wants to pay Council candidate Garrett nearly $100,000.00 .. This smells. besides, Columbus High School is more in need of land to build a girl's softball field so it has property to warrant spending $300,000.00 in SPLOST revenues to "improve it". Oh.. the house next to this one is bigger and  also tax valued at $154,000.00.

---

You know.. if parking is such an issue at Columbus High, then a policy change may be needed.. How about. If you don't get an assigned parking spot, then arrange for bus, or carpool transportation. And then the MCSD could use the $250,000.00 "it pulled out of their magic hat" on some classroom improvements.. say for Autistic students..

Once again I ask, what is the NCAA thinking when it has "play-in" games for the number 11 seed in two brackets.. if two teams were qualified to be competing for an 11th seed, doesn't that mean the losing teams of those two contests are better qualified than the 12th-16th seeds in all the brackets?
