One more thing Obama said in his speech is that he didn't complete his work.. true... America rose up and stopped him before Hellary could administer the coup d'etat.

---
Tillerson's opening statement had to send a celebratory message to our allies and the world. I think our friends in the world will applaud January 20th more so for it being the last day for Kerry as well as Obama.

---
Tillerson , out of the chute, commanded the presence of Superman's creed of fighting for "truth, justice, an the American way" when he stated that Russia has backtracked from it's goals of being a democracy.

---
Two things became apparently clear during Rubio's questioning of Tillerson..Tillerson knows more about cyber security of his company, Exxon, than Rubio knows about cyber security of our nation, and Rubio is one of those gnats that needs to be swatted away. The questions Rubio asked Tillerson to answer would be removed from the transcript in any trial as improper and without proper foundation.

---
After hearing confirmation questions thrown at Tillerson, I want to know how Hellary and Kerry ever passed Senate confirmations? Neither had any direct knowledge of how sanctions would affect American industries.

---
Good grief..Trump's scheduled press conference had a hijack attempt by ludicrous undocumented insinuations about some sexual perversion. I tell you what, any reporter who even hints at the validity of such in question should be escorted out and permanently banned from any first hand press conferences in the future. JIm Acosta, CNN's (_*_) , should join the ranks of CBS's Dan Rather and NBC's Brian Williams. I don't know where the Acosta can go from CNN.. as it was Rather ended up working for Mark Cuban (aha.. now we know why Cuban was such an ill-informed (_*_)  ....), and Williams was sent out to pasture at MSNBC.. There is nowhere  lower to send Acosta

---
Speaking of CNN.. remember 2003 when it was uncovered that CNN preferred staying on Saddam Hussein's party A-List rather than report the truth? CNN’s chief news executive Eason Jordan  admitted that for the past decade the network has systematically covered up stories of Iraqi atrocities. Reports of murder, torture, and planned assassinations were suppressed in order to maintain CNN’s Baghdad bureau.... Perhaps CNN needs a new... more appropriate name... "C-"NN.

---
Tell you what.. I'm all for Trump pledging to vet pricing drug companies charge.. I started taking Benicar in 2005 .. the first bottle I bought was about $57.00... when it went generic at the end of 2016, Benicar cost me $254.00 for that same bottle.. there is no inflation index that can justify the company's soaring 445 percent increase in 11 years.

---
I find it amazing that such Civil Rights icons that coattail on Dr Martin Luther King, Jr's mission are now Democrats.. Loke Abraham Lincoln, Dr King was a Republican... for a reason.

---
You know, there is a huge difference between a contributor and over opinionated party spinmeister.. party spinmeisters do not need to be part of a news show or panel discussion.Fox just needs to cut Juan Williams, Geraldo, and Jemu Green loose. Let them try to get on CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, or ABC. Of course, none of those media outlets need them, so good luck for their opinions.

---
Anybody seen mainscream media covering the recent deaths of the policemen in Orlando? Loretta Lynch said she wasn't gonna rest until justice is served. How are we going to know if Lynch is even lifting a finger if mainscream doesn't stay on HER case?

---
L-E headline: "STATE GOVERNMENT * Deal’s State of the State address focuses on military, education" --
I'm amazed at how the Governor and the Republican "fish house gang" are trying to knock Senator Josh McKoon out of office.. McKoon has been such an ardent supporter of the focus programs of the Governor, yet the Governor and Republican "fish house gang" feel McKoon is too ethical and dedicated to such to be chair of the ethics committee.

---
L-E headline/story: "COLUMBUS CITY COUNCIL * City gets reserve funds back over 60-day level" * Mayor Teresa Tomlinson said she wanted to commend Hugley and his staff for coming up with the “fiscally responsible” plan and Columbus Council for wisely " -- Good grief.. She should be kissing his rather than him kissing hers! The fund balance erosion was purely Tom-LYING-son's issue to ram through negative revenue producing personal projects during her first 6 years.

---
L-E headline/story: "PRESIDENT’S LEGACY * Poll: Obama won nation’s approval, didn’t unite it *
Did he keep his promises? He did not, in the minds of 2 of 3 Americans, though 44 percent say he tried." -- Good grief.. the road to hell is paved with Liberal's "good intentions".. will someone give me "the".. well, "any" GOOD in partial birth abortions?

---
Super LIV's L-E "soundoff": "I cannot quite agree with Dusty Nix that former Sheriff Darr lost for no other reason than the lawsuit. Some of us were bothered that Darr accumulated a one million dollar deficit each year." -- How is it a department deficit when the budget shortfalls were from Tom-LYING-son not working the Sheriff's Department budget in accordance with state laws, nor in providing funds to cover federal and court mandates for prisoner care?

---
Columbus.. do not let Tom-LYING-son let the audit of the Sheriff's Department prior to the election to be allowed to "disappear".. Columbus needs to know the truth about the situation.. Thank good =ness we have a principled person charged with conducting such.

This may have changes but if you travel a lot, this site gives you passwords for WiFi at 100 + airports around the world.. may be your lifeline during a delay:

---
L-E headline/story: "TRANSPORTATION * Whittlesey Road project ‘99.99%’ done, state says *  Whittlesey widening project is almost complete after being started in 2012, the DOT says." -- Nearly 5 years to rebuild a 3/4ths mile road.. It would probably been cheaper, faster, and less inconveniencing if the entire road had been shut down during week days and treated like new road construction. Wonder if the L-E will list the number of businesses that closed due to the length of disruption.. I can think of a coffee house, a guitar studio, a non-profit office, and an insurance company that closed shop..

---
L-E story: "Texas is flirting with losing sporting events as North Carolina did, Dallas civic leaders warned Wednesday as they urged Republican lawmakers to stand down on a proposal that would require trans-gender people to use bathrooms corresponding to their sex at birth." -- Tell you what.. pro-sports organizations and the NCAA will eventually be the big losers in this match up of logic.. soon, all the states and cities that are currently sought to hold such events will be "off limits". and such events will be relegated to cities/state where a lot of people actually have no interest in attending athletic events.

---
From the "oooops" department - L-E headline/story: "WITNESS: ARREOLA STRUGGLED WITH POLICE * Photos of man in hospital are released * Defense attorney Stacey Jackson released hospital photos Wednesday morning showing Hector Arreola, the 30-year-old Columbus man who died a day after he was involved in a struggle with police during early Monday’s arrest on Moss Drive. * We want, obviously, to find the cause (of death). From my understanding, the family was told he was suffering from cerebral edema, which is the lack of blood or oxygen to the brain,” Jackson said. * The attorney said Arreola told the officers he couldn’t breathe several times as they were taking him into custody." -- "attorney said Arreola told the officers he couldn’t breathe several times "? Ooooops.. there goes the case.. as I recall, it takes the ability to breath to speak.. especially "several times".

Calling K-12 School 1 would be preferable to the vacuous and generic "Midtown" moniker..
On a personal basis, I sent in the name of my Aunt Ella Elizabeth Kirven as a nomination..
My late aunt, Ella Elizabeth Kirven would be an excellent choice to name the new Arts Academy. My Aunt Ella is from a family present in Columbus BEFORE the City was chartered, a direct descendant of three of the founders of the First Baptist Church of Columbus, a founding board member and lifetime servant to Trinity/Brookstone School, won the Silver and Gold Medals from the Fashion Institute of New York for fashion design in successive years, was an active an devoted supporter of The Springer, and upon her death, left multiple millions to the Columbus Museum of Art for acquisitions. In addition, my Aunt Ella was a neighborhood/childhood friend with Carson McCullers and continued that friendship until McCullers' death

L-E editorial headline/story: "A break veterans have earned *  (Representative Richard Smith's) idea, as you are no doubt aware, is to make military pensions exempt from Georgia’s income tax." -- I support our military.. and our own law enforcement, fire department  neighbors.. but I have reservations about open the doors to other public areas of tax exemption.. My concern is that retirement can come after only 20 years (which for some is indeed a LIFETIME), but I can easily support such an exemption from income taxes once hey reach the same retirement ages people qualify to begin collecting their Social Security.. In fact, I can support the exemption.. of SS income as well. it was deducted from individuals pay checks.. even MATCHED by their employer.. the government has  already kept that money stagnant too long.

From the "liberals have no racism shame" L-E Letter-to-the-Editor department: "Here’s a fun fact for white supremacists: The first Europeans were black. About 30,000 years ago everyone on the planet was. Two groups got “bleached out” due to northern migrations. This happened independently in Europe and in Asia, hence the pale-skinned Swede and northern Chinese." -- Good grief.. where is this source of documentation and collaboration! And if it's true, then Obama's "tanning tax" is more discriminatory and racist than we thought..
