Why is what the City is paying for these properties not based on what the tax assessment value is? What it tells me is that the Mayor, and the Tax Assessor's department have been inefficient is collecting taxes on the FAIR MARKET VALUE they are responsible in keeping up-to-date. You know, if properties WERE fairly assessed, there would be no revenue shortage in the City coffers!
