Online headline/story: "Texas bill restricting insurance coverage for abortions nears approval * The House measure would ban insurance coverage for abortions and require women who wanted coverage to purchase a supplemental plan for an abortion, the latest effort by the most-populous Republican-controlled state to place restrictions on the procedure." -- Once again I firmly believe the abortion issue is not a political one, but a moral one involving a personal relationship with God.. I agree with Texas (10 other states) that if people want to use an abortion as a form of birth control, then having an insurance policy to cover costs as a personal medical procedure choice then people should take their own responsibility for their life style decisions.

From the "we have to exercise our bias to be pertinent" department - Online story: "A new study indicates that the cost of discharging and replacing transgender people in the United States military will be steep, coming in at around $960 million dollars, according to the The Palm Center -- a public policy think tank. * Currently there are 12,800 transgender service members in the military, and according to the The Palm Center's research, replacing and recruiting a soldier costs an average of $75,000 per person. * Compared to the average annual cost of transition related healthcare for transgender service members which is $656." -- You know, somethings.. and this is one, cannot... should not.. be "evaluated" by speculative numerical dollars. What needs to be computed into any "cost" formula is what happens when soldiers are needed for deployment and skilled transgender personnel opt to want surgical procedures that would keep them from being deployed when needed... Let's face it.. a transgendered person not only could request the gender change procedure, but there's no guarantee many soldiers would play "ping-pong" with their genital configuration in order to avoid all military deployments..
Of course, a "fair" compromise would be for the military to discharge them, and the transgenders pay back the $75,000 costs spent training them, and the military give them 50% ($328.00 annually) for their annual hormone maintenance treatments until hey get on medicare.

From the "good for the goose is not good for the gander" departmental - Online headline: "CNN fires pro-Trump commentator Jeffrey Lord for tweeting a Nazi salute" -- Good grief.. mainsceam media has no restriction on comparing Trump to Hitler, yet gets its gender-neutral :Depends" in a wad if someone points out their hypocrisy..

Online headline: "INDUSTRY NEWS EDUCATION * University System of Georgia seeking $122 million budget increase" -- Guess UGA expects all those business school students who e-mail Dr Watson to dictate the grade they want, may decide to e-mail the bursar and ask for the tuition reduction they want.

From the "dementia?" department - Online story: " Former President Jimmy Carter said in a statement he won’t choose a side in Georgia’s race for governor, and that his kind words about Democrat Stacey Abrams were not a suggestion of who he would support in the wide-open contest. * His statement came after video emerged of him at a July 25 fundraising dinner in Americus for the Boys and Girls Club as he introduced Abrams: “I shouldn’t say it, but she’s going to be – possibly, and hopefully for me – our next governor of Georgia,” he said to applause. The Plains native goes on to call her a “remarkable” politician who “knows how to reach out to both sides.” -- Typical Democrat... one side of his mouth doesn't know what the other side said...and as for Abrams reaching out to "both sides".. what sides is he referring to.. the pro-Obama/Hellary/Bernie side and the anti-Trump side?
The real question is why does Carter want to devastate GA? GA was one of only 6 states that voted with him in 1980...of course, GA, West Virginia, and Wisconsin went for Trump this year which would have made the 1980 Electoral vote 517 for Reagan and 21 for Carter..

Online story: "A federal judge has ordered the State Department to search the “state.gov” email accounts of Hillary Clinton aides Huma Abedin, Cheryl Mills and Jacob Sullivan for records related to Benghazi, as part of a watchdog’s Freedom of Information Act lawsuit. * U.S. District Judge for the District of Columbia Amit Mehta made the call Tuesday * He noted that “Secretary Clinton used a private e-mail server located in her home, to transmit and receive work-related communications during her tenure as Secretary of State.” * “The sole remaining dispute in this case is the adequacy of State’s search for responsive records" -- One question.. why didn't a federal judge issue this order 18-36 months ago? Easy answer,, such issues would have been brought before a District 9 judge under the influence of rarified California smog.

Trump's son has the Democrats pegged to a tee..the Democrats would rather see America fail than see his father be successful...what a sad statement..sadder still is the number of Republican politicians with a similar attitude.

Online story: "A Virginia college student was sentenced this week to 100 days incarceration for submitting fraudulent voter registration forms listing the names of dead people and other faulty information for a political organization connected to the Democratic Party." -- :100 days incarceration"? Yeah.. and probably during the summer when he's not going to college and would have to work to pay for his meals.. How about if he's sentenced to serving those 100 days IN A (Vented) COFFIN! It would be a much better reminder of what "dead voters" live like.

McConnell is not totally responsible for all the current Republican failures under Trump, but... BUT McConnell has not done a good job in past elections at supporting real Republicans to run in state primaries and General Elections against RINOs and Democrats.. The Senate SHOULD have 60 to 70 Republican Senators sitting in Washington.. reflecting how state voters feel about Republican vs. Democrat governors.

Online headline: "Ceasar Mitchell launches his digital campaign for mayor of Atlanta" -- I'm not bothering to mention wordage in "the story" as there is no mention that Caesar Mitchell is a Democrat.. how do you kick off a campaign and not mention your party affiliation?

L-E headline: "ATHENS * Georgia left tackle Isaiah Wynn was not present for the fourth consecutive day at practice." -- Hmmm... guess he decided he could e-mail the coaches and get an "A" grade for starting job consideration without actually putting in the work.
---
The L-E has a video of the bus driver's accident of last August.. I'm curious about the video system.. it kept up with the bus speed in KMPH rather than simple MPH numbers.

Does anyone in Columbus know how many active client (hair salon/ and music recording studio) businesses one can run out of a residence with a H! homestead exemption status?

L-E story: "Less than two months after coming into Columbus promising to
revolutionize minor league hockey, the Southern Professional Hockey League has
broken off talks with a New York City businessman seeking ownership in the
league. * Thursday afternoon, that speculation ended as SPHL Commissioner Jim
Combs said Jenkins was out of the picture as a possible owner, even though
Jenkins had previously announced he was going to name his team the Columbus Burn

A More Stupid than usual LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Why would Donald Trump

not Russian meddling in our elections? -- Good grief.. does this idiot not even

L-E headline: "Police: Man used father’s gun to steal drugs from victim" --
Since an under 21 person cannot purchase a handgun, Teal, either took (stole)
the handgun from his father.. or the father provided the gun to him
voluntarily.. so why are not other charges discussed,, either the son in
possession of a stolen gun or the father in abetting a felony?
---
L-E headline: "Plan to renovate Bibb Elementary School falls through" --
You know.. it's issues like this that shines such a negative light on the
MCSB/MCSD administration.. another school property left to rot without any
maintenance.. These buildings belong to the taxpayers, and if the MCSD decides
to abandon them, they have an obligation to preserve them the best they can in
order for the community to get a fair compensation when private parties might
want to buy them for other purposes.

L-E headline/story: "In anger room, bashing stuff is fun, safe and a little
pricey * Since March, however, nearly 1,500 people have shown up to break
housewares, electronics and furniture at the Wrecking Club, two reinforced rooms
in the basement of a building in the garment district of Manhattan." --
Hmmm...looks like we're seeing the evolution of "Snowflake Safe Rooms"...
