Does UpChuck Schmoozer even know what's going on in his home state? He opposes every tax cut proposal Trump wants to initiate, yet the state of NY is aggressively promoting new lower tax rates on businesses in its ad campaign.

---

You know, Trump's proposed tax cut plan would hit high income, high priced house owners particularly "hard" in New York and California. Of course the Democrats are against the bill.. high income, high priced house owners in California and New York are the biggest donors to the Democrats. Never mind that Trump's proposal raises standard deductions to $24,000 for families, or that small business owners get breaks that allow them better cash flow so they can hire more workers.. With the Democrats, it's all about protecting the interests of their donors.

Soapbox Moment: Two major attempts of using outside money to influence Congressional elections have been thwarted by voters in the last few months.. This past Tuesday, Alabama voters elected Judge Roy Moore over Luther Strange, the appointed successor to Sen Jeff Sessions' seat despite huge amounts of money poured into the selection of Strange by outside Republicans. Earlier this summer, a $30-to-$50,000,000.00 cash input by the National Democrats to get a non-district resident elected to fill the seat of Tom Price was beat back by Georgia's District 6 voters in what has to be more embarrassing to the DNC than Hellary's loss. We need a new campaign contribution law restricting who can donate to election campaigns.. and one that will pass muster with the US Supreme Court. A simple law requiring a donor (or over 50% of any PAC/Committee) to actually be able to vote in the election of the candidate he/she donates to would cover all aspects without infringing on the donor's rights. Example: Every registered-to-vote CITIZEN could contribute to the Presidential candidates. Only registered-to-vote CITIZENS of a state could donate in its US Senate races, all registered-to-vote CITIZENS of a candidate's District in his/her state could donate to in US Congressional and state senate/representative races, and all registered-to-vote resident CITIZENS could donate to candidates in City/County elections. Like I said, just common sense simple rules..

From the "now we know how budgets get busted" department - Online headline/story:

"Congress may pick a fight over an important feature left off new Air Force One planes * "Strangely to me, the Air Force has just announced that the next version of Air Force One will not have in-flight refueling capability. What do you make of that?” Arkansas Republican Sen. Tom Cotton asked Marine Corps Gen. Joseph Dunford on Tuesday, during a hearing to confirm Dunford's reappointment to chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

* "I think that was a decision that was not made by the Air Force, but made by the White House," Dunford said, "and I think it had to do with the fiscal constraints on the program." * Cotton, calling the decision strange, suggested lawmakers and military leaders might reverse it. "I think we might need to revisit that decision here on Capitol Hill," he said, according to Air Force Times. * the 747-8 models can fly almost 1,800 nautical miles more than the jets they will replace without refueling, according to Defense One — and even though presidents have never used in-flight refueling on the current planes — Dunford said the need to make ground stops for refueling, even in the case of emergency, "will certainly be a limiting factor, and we'll have to plan accordingly." -- Good grief.. if a refueling tanker jet can get to Air Force 1 in an emergency, then Air Force 1 could land and refuel just as easily.. and more safely. Trump's right... the "swamp" must be drained!

I'm tired of the mainscream media and Democratic Party claims of Russian influences of misinformation.. Of course, if there are any two entities that know about and practicing "influence by misinformation", the Dems and mainscream media are professionals.

Last March I mentioned that Charter/Spectrum broke its promise of 3 years of no increases when I switched over last January, but then Charter/Spectrum took "The Golf Channel off my "package" and said I'd have to "buy" a sports package for an additional $12.00 a month to get it back. I mentioned to them that it was they who promised me I'd pay the same price for this package for 3 years. I can live without the Golf Channel.. but this week, I sent a proposal to Charter/Spectrum telling them I'd trade in all my ESPN channels for returning the Golf Channel to me.

Maybe this will get the NFL's attention.. Direct TV has reported a surge of customers canceling their NFL packages. It was also noted that various networks were having to refund ad monies to sponsors of NFL games because the networks could not deliver the minimum "eyes" promised..

From the "is there any wonder Megan Kelly had to make a public scene at Fox to get attention" department - HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Jane Fonda snaps at Megyn Kelly after question about plastic surgery * "You've been an example to everyone on how to age beautifully and with strength and unapologetically," Kelly said to Fonda. "You admit you've had work done, which I think is to your credit. You look amazing. Why did you say that -- I read that you're not proud to admit that you've had work done. Why not?" * The 79-year-old movie star appeared shell-shocked by the question, and she took a moment to respond. * "We really want to talk about that now?" she retorted. * "Well, one of the things people think when they look at you is how amazing you look," Kelly responded quickly." -- Good grief..Megan Kelly asked Jane Fonda about cosmetic surgery tweaks rather than what Americans really want Fonda to address.. her traitorous trip to a Vietnam prisoner-of-war camp! Good night... uh.. GOODBYE, Megan.

I almost laugh when I see ads for trucks saying $12,000.00 OFF.. Good grief.. I remember when you could have bought 3 current model trucks for $12,000.00.. Even worse is that if you do buy one with "$12,000.00 OFF" savings, as soon as you drive it off the lot, it still loses another 20 or 30% of it's "value" .

Looking at just the Columbus Council members' home assessment changes made by the new software, you really have to know that banks/mortgage companies will have to re-evaluate ALL of their "home equity loans". When a home is re-assessed $33.000 -to-$100,000.00 LESS than it was the year before, that hits directly at any equity value of the property.

---

A friend of mine told me of her re-assessment horror story last night.. the 1,200 sq ft, 1923 built rental home she bought in 1996 for $54,000.00 was re-assessed at over $83,000.00 in the new assessments. She had it professional evaluated this week and it was valued at $56,000.00. Fortunately, she already had an appeal on the re-assessment value, so she can add the professional evaluation to her appeal documentation, but why should she have to do this? The Board of Equalization needs to be 100% recalled for dereliction of its duties to the citizens of Columbus.. too bad "drawn and quartered" is no longer a punishment option.

From the "utterly mis/uninformed LIV" department - Uber LIV's L-E "soundoff": "GOP Bill of Right Wouldn't it be nice if Republican voters believed First Amendment rights were as important as Second Amendment rights?" -- Excuse me.. can this "soundoffer" point to a single Hellary rally or liberal campus speaker has been attacked by Republicans?

---
From the "well, I finally caught Trump in a lie" department - L-E headline/story: "Trump’s tax plan cuts rates, ends many deductions * The Trump administration on Wednesday proposed the most sweeping changes to the federal tax code in decades, outlining a framework that would cut individual and corporate taxes, eliminate widely used exemptions and deductions, and tilt the United States closer to the type of tax system embraced by other industrialized nations. * As he departed the White House for Indiana, Trump insisted that his tax plan would benefit the middle class and not the rich. “My plan is for working people and my plan is for jobs,” Trump said. “I don’t benefit.” -- Hmmm... Trump just lied about saying "I don't benefit"... Trump does benefit.. his vision will benefit him by seeing America Great Again"!

---
From the "put this in your calendar app today" department - Just a reminder that the Exchange Club of Columbus will be selling its "world famous" foot-long hot dogs October 12-14th at the Columbus-Ft Benning Shrine Club on Edgewood.. If you can't get by to dine, call in and get a lunch order for your entire office crew.. get meals to take out or dine at the Shrine Club. Call phone-in orders to 706-341-1947 or fax them to 706-561-099 - Make an extra donation as well...Columbus has really benefited over the years from Exchange Club projects!

L-E headline: "Henderson’s decision on Columbus mayoral race coming Thursday" -- You know, Skip could have been a shoe-in if he'd stepped forward and shown leadership against the TAX Freeze Assault and the Property Tax Re-Assessment issue..  Now,, I don't know.. guess we'll have to wait to see if Tollie Strode will step to the plate..

---
L-E story: "Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg agreed in an interview Tuesday night that sexism was a “major, major factor” in Hillary Clinton’s loss to Donald Trump last November." -- You know.. Ginsburg may be right.. but it's because real women don't accept Hellary or Justice Ginsburg as realistic examples of "real women role models".
