Let's not let today's anxieties lessen the lessons learned 16 years ago that elements of the world want to kill us simply because we exist..  A moment of silence for those who died in the 9-11-01 attack and every subsequent attack perpetrated by radical Islamic jihadists.

Online headline/story: "California university system sues Trump over roll back of 'dreamers' program * A former top security official who helped put in place a program protecting people brought to the United States illegally as children, is suing the Trump White House as head of the University of California system over plans to roll back the policy. * Janet Napolitano, the former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security under President Barack Obama, said in a lawsuit filed on Friday that ended the 2012 Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival program, or DACA, violates the due process of about 800,000 beneficiaries, known as "dreamers," who were granted permits that protected them from deportation. * The lawsuit also argues Trump did not follow the proper procedures needed to cancel a program of this magnitude." -- Good grief.. the U of California Law School head should be suing Napolitano! She was involved with Obama as he violated his oath of office to defend, not deflect, the US Constitution with an illegal Executive Order.

From Saturday night: Live! -- With over 12 minutes left in the game, there have already been 12 penalties assessed against the Bulldogs. Regardless of the outcome (but UGA did win), if I were coaching for UGA, not only would I refuse to play again in South Bend, I'd leave the game "film" for future coaches to make sure they don't either.

From the "it is nice to know.. inspiring, in fact, that some Californians are generally "good people" department.. In the opening USC game against Western Michigan, Jake Olson snapped a football to the place-kick holder, and an extra point was made..AS Paul Harvey might add, "now, for the "rest of the story". Jake Olson is blind. When Jake was 10 months old, his left eye was removed because of cancer.. his right eye was removed when he was 12 years old, but during that time USC Coach Pete Carroll heard a  plea, and brought Jake into the USC family...In high school, Jake was given a "chance" to try out for "long snapper".. his coach, Chuck Petersen watched him grow into a fine "long snapper" and Jake became THE "long snapper". Onto USC.. new coach Clay Helton knowing Jake's long history as a Trojans fan and team icon, brought Jake along. For two years, Jake practiced and learned.. September 2nd.. with the game finally under control, USC scored, and Coach Helton sent Jake into the game for the final extra point attempt.. let's face it, the game did not depend on the success of this extra point, but Jake nailed the "long snap" and walk-on placekicker Chase McGrath split the goalposts.

On Saturday, I made a comment about how wrong.. even illegal it must be for the Muscogee County Sheriff's name to be emblazoned on the Marshal's Department deputies' vehicles. It has to be a violation of election codes about government worker campaigning.... a fellow BCer brought it to my attention that Sheriff Darr also did such.. the BCer also agrees it would be better if left off..just the replacing the names on the Sheriff's department vehicles after the last election was quite an expense.

L-E "soundoff" of insight: "Fifty-six years later JFK: “Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country.” Today’s Democrats: “Demand that your country do more and more for you.” -- Hmm.. and JFK also spoke, One person can make a difference, and everyone should try"..Well, more than enough spoke up and were heard in November!

---
Stupor_LIV's L-E "soundoff": "So this is what ‘greatness’ looks like Hurricanes, World War III looming, and a bunch of pantywaisted Trump puppets in charge. Now that you have your country back, do you like it?" -- Hmmm the Antifa now blames Trump for the weather... Hmmm.. thank heaven Trump was there for Texas and Louisiana, and is here for Florida as well. I'm almost waiting for mainscream media to blame Trump for the current hurricane being named for a woman.

---
L-E headline/story: "An asset despite being butt of jokes *  I am talking about the fountain in the 900 block of Broadway directly in front of the entrance to the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts. Yeah, that sculpture. The one that looks, shall we say, like a phallic symbol." -- Wish I could say it was my descriptive name for it, but, alas, I cannot.. a fellow Columbusite friend  nailed it with the perfect name.... "Viagra Falls".

---
You know, the first "victims" of Hurricane Irma are the Hurricane Harvey folks in Texas and Louisiana who have disappeared from the news cycles.

On the other hand, Texans an Louisianans have probably benefited from the lost interest of mainscream media.. I'll be more things have gotten done faster and better than they would have with microphones and cameras jammed into workers' faces, but probably more beneficial is that whiny liberals have lost their "stage" about how they have been oppressed  by others.. sorta like the fabled "Grasshopper" who complained of his circumstances because he "fiddled around" while the ants worked hard at being prepared.

---
You know, as disturbing as the Antifa and leftists are, it's even more disturbing that they seem ecstatic over the possibility that Trump properties in Florida might get wiped out.. All I can say is that it's a good chance for Trump to highlight the differences of open market insurance coverage versus OObamaCRAP.

Online headline/story: "Washington County (Pennsylvania) treasurer says Tyler Technologies responsible for late tax bills *  It’s an oft-quoted figure: Washington County’s $6.96 million contract with Tyler Technologies of Moraine, Ohio, to reassess all property in a process that began in 2013. * But part of that contract was to be Tyler’s development of computer software that would facilitate the of sharing of property-related information and tax billing and a new cashiering system. * That hasn’t come about, Washington County Treasurer Francis King said this week, and the county has had to regroup to generate more than 111,000 county tax bills, which have, until this year, been mailed the first week of January." -- I guess, in Columbus, GA "speak", Tyler Technologies is the "Camelot" issue of the MCSD.

Online story: "The abortion uber alles cult that now masquerades as the Democrat party was on full display recently, as Scott Johnson of Powerline relates :
"Article VI of the Constitution prohibits a religious test for public office. So what was Senator Dick Durbin doing asking Notre Dame Law Professor Amy Coney Barrett — one of President Trump’s nominees to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals — “Do you consider yourself an orthodox Catholic?” How is it that Senator Dianne Feinstein thought it could be proper to observe of Professor Barrett: “When you read your speeches, the conclusion one draws is that the dogma lives loudly within you, and that’s of concern.” *  The Democrats view faithful Catholics as a threat and will use any means to drive them from public life and the public square.  How any faithful Catholic could cast a ballot for this anti-Catholic party astonishes me." -- "how any faithful Catholic could cast a ballot for this anti-Catholic party astonishes me"? .. Me, too! Same goes for the Jewish community as well. and for the black community that looked to Dr Martin Luther King, Jr for guidancee and leadership.

From the "how can we gloss over Obama and Hellary mistakes and take down Trump in one fell swoop" department - Online Headl-LIE/story: "Steve Bannon: Firing Comey was the biggest mistake in 'modern political history' * During the  ("60 Minutes") interview with (Charlie)  Rose told Bannon, "Someone said to me that you described the firing of [former FBI director] James Comey — you're a student of history — as the biggest mistake in political history." * During the interview, Rose told Bannon, "Someone said to me that you described the firing of [former FBI director] James Comey — you're a student of history — as the biggest mistake in political history." * "The firing of James Comey was the biggest mistake in modern political history," Rose clarified.  *  Bannon said: "If you're saying that that's associated with me, then I'll leave it at that."" -- You know, the only mistake Trump made in firing Comey is that 20-20 hindsight shows Trump should have done it on January 21st, All Rose is trying to do is keep from having to discuss DACA, "fast and furious", Benghazi, Black Lives Matter, the Antifa, etc etc...

---
Online headline/story: "Antifa throws smoke and projectiles at police at Portland rallies; 7 arrested * Antifa demonstrators hurled smoke and projectiles at police officers during rallies in downtown Portland on Sunday, injuring at least two, according to police. * Police confiscated items such as gloves and a bat before allowing demonstrators to rally in Portland Sunday." -- Thank goodness the police did confiscate many weapons before the Antifa "peacefully" demonstrated their love for the rights of no one but themselves.

---
From the "we all needed a little comic relief this morning" department - Online headline: "Hillary Clinton says election defeat left her 'gobsmacked'" -- Well, better her than America!

---
From the "liberal ostrich with head buried up it's own..." department - Stupor LIV's L-E "soundoff:: "Having experienced incivility in our neighborhoods and on the streets as never before, is it influenced by the president of the United States with his lack of respect for many fellow citizens? -- What a warped point of view.. Trump is out correcting the 8 years of Obamanization  we citizens suffered under as criminals, including illegal aliens, were given preferential treatment over our citizens and Constitution.

---
From the "you cannot satisfy mainscream media" department - L-E headline/story: "Trump promised not to work with foreign entities, but his company just did" -- Hmmm... and did not mainscream media squawk loudly demanding Trump (as he would do anyway) disassociate himself with his business decisions?   And, good grief, how would using an American company in a Dubai site make a difference in America? Me, I might have looked at other sources, but reality is that there probably weren't such..

---
L-E headline: "Clinton says she is ‘done with being candidate’" -- Hmmm.. she still doesn't "get it".. The American voters already told her that last November..

---

Good grief.. the L-E was over 40 pages today.. that's actually thick enough for a full day's usage as a bird cage liner.
