Today we lay to rest a terrific young man who has been a part of our lives since our youngest, soon to be 21 year-old daughter, was in 2nd Grade. He died a sudden and tragic death. His mother asked that we all "pray for peace".. in our world, in our community, in our own lives. Please join us.

From the "cry me a river" department - Online headline/story: "North Korea calls for a halt to "brutal" sanctions * North Korea called on Friday for a halt to what it called "brutal sanctions", saying the measures - imposed after its latest nuclear test - constituted genocide. * "Today the U.S.-led racket of brutal sanctions and pressure against the DPRK constitutes contemporary human rights violation and genocide," the North Korean mission to the United Nations in Geneva said in a statement." Kim Jong Ooooops... the short-fused cannonball wanted a shot a "the Show", and has been measured and founding wanting.

Online headline/story: "Here's the letter Obama is sending to people who ask him about the state of the country * Almost one year after the election of President Trump, many liberals are still longing for his predecessor, Barack Obama. And Obama has crafted a letter that he’s sending to people who express their worries to him about the current political climate, assuring them “I hear your concerns, and I want you to know I’m listening.”" -- Good grief.. remember Obama's 1st year "Apology Tour" to our enemies? Well, now he needs to do an "Apology Tour" in America for the rest of his life.

From "the NFL has an even bigger problem, now" department - Online headline/story: "Disabled Navy vet refuses to receive award from Saints over national anthem protests * A disabled Navy veteran said he declined to accept an award at a New Orleans Saints game due to the controversy over players protesting during the national anthem. * The Saints organization was going to honor retired Cmdr. John Wells, the executive director of Military Veterans Advocacy, with the Peoples Health Champion award during last week’s game in New Orleans * “Although I am touched and honored to be selected for such an award, the ongoing controversy with NFL players' disrespect for the national flag forces me to decline to participate in the presentation,” Wells said. "I am unable, in good conscience, to enter an NFL stadium while this discourtesy prevails. Since this award is tainted with the dishonorable actions of the NFL and its players, I cannot accept it.” * The Saints said in a statement Thursday that they were disappointed by Wells’ decision.
* “We will not allow Mr. Wells' decision and subsequent media appearances to distract our players and organization from continuing to honor and support our military and veterans," the statement read. "We, as an organization, have decided to move on from this sad and divisive discourse and focus our attention on supporting our military and veterans.” -- "we will NOT ALLOW Mr. Wells...to distract our players and organization from continuing to honor and support our military and veterans"? Hey, NO (_*_)s.. first it's not "MR' Wells, it's Commander (RET) John Wells, and the Saints and NFL have pretty much destroyed it's opportunity for the country to accept their apologies. Keep the boycott going, especially now that the NFL has laid its card face up on the table... and has a "bust hand".

From the "Walter Cronkite must be turning over in his grave'" department - Online story: "Disgraced former CNN contributor Donna Brazile made explosive allegations that the DNC rigged the 2016 primary in Hillary Clinton’s favor, but ABC, NBC and CBS’ evening newscasts failed to cover it." -- While I have no doubt Brazile's motive for the book is to make gobs of money, her motive is no different from Hellary when she published "What Happened".. You think CBS, ABC, and NBC would love an inside critique of Hellary. heh heh heh...

From the "it's gone from finding a "hanging judge" to wanting to "hang" the judge" department - Online headline/story: "Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl spared prison time for deserting Afghanistan post, Trump calls the sentence a 'disgrace' * Army Colonel Jeffery Nance delivered the sentence in a hearing that lasted just two minutes, and did not comment on his decision. He also recommended that the Hailey, Idaho, native be demoted to private and forfeit $10,000 in pay." -- I think the "judge: should get the same sentence as Bergdahl.. "busted" to private, removed from his future pension, and dishonorably discharged... and serve the 14 years recommended by the prosecution!

From the "hey, Black Lives Matter, is this what you consider justice" department - Online story: "The City of Cleveland hired a disgraced former judge who served prison time for beating his wife, despite applications from 15 other candidates for the position. * City administrators contend Lance Mason, a convicted felon, was the most qualified candidate for the job. * Mason pleaded guilty to charges of domestic violence and attempted felonious assault for attacking his wife in 2014. Police said Mason viciously choked, punched and bit the victim. It happened inside a vehicle in Shaker Heights and was witnessed by the couple's two daughters. * Mason served time behind bars from September 2015 through June 2016." -- Never have I seen a more fitting example of, "You can't fix stupid!" Or maybe there should be a "Black WIVES Matter" movement..

An "almost gets it" L-E "soundoff": "People around the world are saying U.S. President Trump is a joke and a laughingstock, but not me." -- Whoa there a second. maestro.. it's not 'people around the world' saying such. it's mainscream media, and liberal politicians and ISIS saying such.. Hey, Hellary.. talk about a "basket of deplorables"!

L-E headline: "AdvancED team recommends MCSD for re-accreditation" -- Oooops, there goes the MCSD and certain MCSB members arguments about Frank Myers and John Thomas's attempt to keep the public informed of the failures within our school system. Keep it up, Frank and John! Now.. maybe we should demand an audit of the competency of the "AdvancED" team..

L-E headline/story: "ACLU accused of misconduct in abortion case * In an extraordinary Supreme Court filing on Friday, the Justice Department accused the American Civil Liberties Union of misconduct in the case of a teenager known as Jane Doe in the country illegally. The teenager obtained an abortion last month over the government’s objection after an appeals court allowed it. * “The ACLU misled the United States as to the timing of Jane Doe’s abortion,” said Devin M. O’Malley, a Justice Department spokesman. * David Cole, ACLU legal director, said the accusations were baseless. “Our lawyers acted in the best interest of our client,” he said." -- "“Our lawyers acted in the best interest of our client"? You know, while I have no problems with a lawyer protecting the rights of his client, but.. attorneys take an oath.. I'm going to hear my son-in-law do this on Monday.. He will repeat this: "I, ________________, swear that I will truly and honestly, justly and uprightly conduct myself as a member of this learned profession and in accordance with the Georgia Rules of Professional Conduct, as an attorney and counselor, and that I will SUPPORT and DEFEND the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Georgia. So help me God." David Cole swore to a similarly word oath somewhere.. and he's violated the oath when he puts his and his clients interest above the US Constitution.. David Cole should have his rights to plea in front of the US Supreme Court revoked immediately, and the ABA. should start disbarment proceedings as well.
