As I recall, yesterday was the last day the L-E was printed here in town, and future print editions as of this AM will be printed in Macon. In the past year or so, Columbus almost lost the its crime lab, now has its mail processed in Macon, and now its newspaper is being printed in Macon. Will map makers soon start listing us as a Macon suburb?

From online story on seating at the State of the Union speech: "Rep. Paul Broun (R-Ga) told radio host Scott Hennen that Democrats "don't want civility. They want silence from the Republicans. And the sitting together being kissy-kissy is just another way to try to silence Republicans, and also to show -- to keep the American people from seeing how few of them there are in the U.S. House now. Then when people stand up . . . what the Democrats are going to be doing when Barack Obama spews out all his venom, then, um, if they're scattered throughout all the Republicans, then it won't be as noticeable as if we're sitting apart." -- Broun is right on the mark. but he could have said it in 4 words, "DUMB&DUMBERats don't want honesty."

Online headline/story: "Case in Giffords Shooting Likely to Take Years * TUCSON, Ariz. -- Investigators have been poring over surveillance video, interviewing witnesses and analyzing items seized from Jared Loughner's home as they build a case in the assassination attempt against Rep. Gabrielle Giffords." -- This is exactly what's wrong with our legal/court system. It's become a welfare system for lawyers at taxpayer expense. What is there to investigate. Put 12 people in a jury box, show'em the available videos, put'em in a locked room for 15 minutes, and make a reservation a no refund with the executioner. The court system should adopt the old Nike motto, "Just Do It".

Online headline/story: "Guerrilla Art: A Whodunnit in Colorado * It was a 15-foot-tall sculpture and had been silently placed on her front lawn. The artwork consists of a steel-reinforced post set in a concrete base. At the top is a collage of rusty chains and metal objects, a padlock, a socket wrench and a solar light that illuminates it after dark." -- Can all members of our Library Board be accounted for?
---
Online headline: "Did China Steal From US Plane for Stealth Jet?" -- Why would they need to steal...XPOTUS Clinton probably sent them the plans along with the ICBM ones.
---
Online story: "DETROIT -- A gunman opened fire inside a Detroit police precinct on Sunday, wounding four officers including a commander before he was shot and killed by police, authorities said. * (Police Chief Ralph) Godbee said the gunman has been identified but it was "too early to characterize" him while the investigation was ongoing." --"too early to characterize him"..... .Characterize? The (_@_) is dead and no judge or jury or investigation can undo that, and the world is better off.
---
L-E story: "WASHINGTON — Under pressure to energize the economy, President Barack Obama said Saturday he will use his State of the Union address to outline an agenda to create jobs now and boost American competitiveness over the long term. " -- If the AP is going to speak for potUS Imam-a (instead of waiting for him to give his speech), why even waste our time with a televised recap tonight. Oh, yeah, if that was done, the TelePrompter Company would probably go out of business.

From the "only in California" department - Le story: " LOS ANGELES — Sir Elton John is “fed up” with being a treated like a “second-class citizen” in the U.S." -- DOH? He's a British citizen, and he's no class of citizen here unless its an alien with a work visa.
