Online headline: "Obama: Democrats and Republicans Have 'Shared' Duty to Boost Economy in 2011" -- Talk about a New Year's Resolution potUS Imam-a should have made 2 years ago.... when he had a super-majority of both chambers of Congress.
---
L-E headline: "Base Realignment and Closure: Police prepare for increased business with resident influx * Law enforcement agencies on both sides of Chattahoochee have boosted ranks" -- Isn't this the wrong message of anticipation to make concerning how 'we' feel about our military?
---
A L-E "soundoff" of merit: "Just saw a poll that says 71 percent believe 65 is too young for Baby Boomers to retire. Why don’t we ask them if 50 is too young for government employees to retire with pensions and benefits? " -- With the exception of our military, this is a very good question. Talk with your Congresspersons, state and Federal.
---
From L-E story: " The future belongs to the kids,” (Councilor-elect Bruce) Huff said. “We need to do what’s right to leave the children something." -- Yeah, and leaving them with less tax burden and a balanced budget looks like the what's right.
---
L-E headline: "Showdowns over spending will test new Congress " -- Wrong! The "showdown" was in November; now we will see who got the message.
---
Not to be "Michigan bashing" (Miss State & Alabama already did that) but when Michigan and Michigan State muster up a total of 21 points against SEC teams which posted 101 points.
---
The L-E ""we" asks this question: "If a student starts third grade unable to write his own name, and ends the year reading at a first-grade level, does the teacher deserve an F? " -- Obviously, the answer is 'no', BUT a retro look at the 1st and 2nd grade teachers should be in order as well as the school's principal for letting the student be advanced to 3rd grade.
