Online headline: "Debt Ceiling Deadline Looms: Obama Says Budget Deal Must Be Reached In 10 Days " -- While the Emperor O'Bozo has certainly become a "'Plouffe-d up" clanging bell", and needs to give up his childish ways, between his war tactics and excessive spending over the past two years, he now finds himself entrenched "between Iraq and a lard place", and no ready shovel in hand.
---
Raising the 'debt ceiling' for a spending obsessed DUMB&DUMBERat president makes as much sense as a credit card company raising your 'maxxed-out' credit card limit when you are struggling to pay the minimum monthly payment.
---
The first priority of this Congress should be to enact a balanced budget bill (leading up to an Amendment), and then enact a rule/law that prohibits amendments/riders to a bill unless such is pertinent to that bill, AND approved by the submitter of such a bill.

L-E headline: "Ledger Inquirer: Skateboarders ignore helmet rule at city skate park * Sign at skate park says helmets are required, but no one is enforcing rule" -- Now we have to have baby sitters? When this whole issue was being brewed, it was about an unmanned/non-supervised (low overhead) facility being built to give this sector of life a safe, free outlet to practice, develop, and enjoy whatever is is that attracts them to skateboarding, and getting the skateboarder off the public streets/sidewalks. When a concept of such folly is offered with the expectation that the users will be responsible, you get what you get.

It's about time there is discussion about the inadequateness of the entry/exit ramps at the North Bypass and Bradley Park Drive. The first question that needs an answer is whether the current situation was the original design submitted to Council by the state, or did the state redesign the ramps due to making the road design changes to appease a whiney Council? Oh, there is a simple solution with very little costs involved. Make the ''clover leafs" only for use in getting off the North Bypass, close the existing "clover leafs" used to enter the North Bypass, and add left turn lanes/signals at the existing long entry ramps to the North Bypass. That may not be as convenient, but it will be a lot safer.

With such interest in land for projects along Veterans Parkway, now would be a good time for the MCSD to research moving the school bus center to another area of town, and capitalizing on selling the 44+/- acres of prime real estate the current school bus center occupies. Of course, it now is no longer in possession of the MCSD, but the property once occupied by Baker High School would have been a great location to relocate... Wait a minute, didn't I previously suggest this transaction a couple years or so ago?

L-E headline/story: "Cambridge to pay wedded gay workers to offset tax * Federal tax levied on spouse’s health insurance, but only for gay couples * When the city of Cambridge issues paychecks to its public employees, nearly two dozen workers find a federal tax on their income that their colleagues don’t have to pay. * Like many people, these 22 school and city workers chose to put their spouses on their employer-provided health insurance. * Because they’re in a homosexual relationship, the value of that health coverage is considered taxable income by the federal government. " -- It is taxable income, just as it is taxable income should a heterosexual shack-up couple who do the same (Question 1 should be why Cambridge is allowing non-spousal inclusion to begin with; 2nd question is whether such 'couples' are filing income tax as 'marrieds' or taking advantage of the 'marriage penalty' and filing as singles).

L-E story: "SAVANNAH — A Chinese aviation leasing company has announced a deal with Gulfstream Aerospace to buy 50 high-end business jets for more than $2.5 billion * According to Minsheng, the company plans to order a mix of Gulf-stream models, including the large-cabin G650, G550 and G450 — all manufactured in Savannah. Asia is emerging as one of the strongest markets for Gulf-stream, which also has an agreement with Beijing-based Deer Jet. Co., China’s largest business jet operator. " -- Hmmm, wonder what the Las Vegas odds are on Gulfstream moving its manufacturing operation to China as soon as this deal is finalized?
