In an PMSNBC interview, Meghan McCain siad she thinks Newt Gingrich should call it quits. Well, since her father has endorsed Romney, I really don't consider this newsworthy, but she'd have more credibility had she encouraged her Dad to step aside in 2008 so Romney could have run last time.

Online headline: "Obama Banks Record Fundraising Haul" -- Well, since potUS O'Blather seems to be so good at get liberals to support him personally, why doesn't he get those super-wealthy ones to contribute extra taxes to the US Treasury and support his spending addiction?
---
Online headline: "City Declared 'Smelliest on the Planet' -- Ooops, my bad. Thought Columbus had topped another unwanted list following all the Department head scandals we've had in recent months... landfill, prison, Parks&Rec, and Civic Center (that we know of).
---
Attached to this edition is a news broadcast concerning our State Department funding the rehab of various Mid-Eastern Mosques and funding an internet accessible computer system for Muslim Imams. Download separately.
---
Where is "Trees Columbus"? There's a new development at 6100 Green Island Drive in which the land has been pretty much 'clear cut' while pretty much hidden from public view.

Tell you what, the end results for the Chattahoochee 'white water' won't look anything like the original concept spiel. Instead of simply restoring the river to its former self, the river bed will be spottily covered with concrete filled sacks called 'mattresses' which will hardly emulate the natural rock/sand bottom.

Online headline: "Democrats Ready Character Attacks Against Mitt Romney" -- "Ready attacks"? That's all the DIM&DUMBERats know how to do since they cannot campaign on their program successes. Fortunately, the Republicans have already aired out all but one of the areas the D&Ds will have to blast Romney on, and that is that Romney is using Greecian Formula 5 on his previously shocking white temple hair. Oh, and of course the D&D's will not mention Romney is a "Massachusetts moderate" because that would cause confusion to D&D voters in New England.

Online story: "NEW YORK — The nation's leading breast-cancer charity, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, is halting its partnerships with Planned Parenthood affiliates – creating a bitter rift, linked to the abortion debate, between two iconic organizations that have assisted millions of women." -- Why the 'H' was Susan G. Komen sending funds donated to it to another charity concern to begin with? I don't contribute to Komen so Komen can give some to a charity I do not support, but even if I did support Planned Parenthood, I would not want my donation from one recipient being passed on to another.
Legislators..make this practice illegal!

Online headline/story: "Leaked Secret Report On Taliban Raising Concerns * KABUL, Feb 1 (Reuters) - The U.S. military said in a secret report the Taliban, backed by Pakistan, are set to retake control of Afghanistan after NATO-led forces withdraw from the country, raising the prospect of a major failure of western policy after a costly war." -- "Leaked secret report"? How long has this been a secret and who had access to "leak" it? Sounds like we need to 'secretly' send back Seal Team 6 to Pakistan (as well as to the group the 'leaker' was/is assigned) with a take no prisoners mission.

Glad to see all the names of the Teacher of the Year 'competition' in the L-E today, but do have to admit I had to hold my breath in hopes Christina Preston was not the nominee from Veterans Memorial Middle School.
---
L-E headline: "Teacher charged in sex assault could face dismissal" -- "Could"?

If the City is spending $60,000.00 a year outsourcing stump grinding, how does the City Manager think buying its own stump grinder will save money? The stump grinder will have to be staffed by a crew of at least 4 on an annual salary, plus have a truck to pull it, and perhaps another to haul off excessive debris, and what happens when a year goes by without needing and stumps grinded? Council should look real close at this proposal.

Fire sale? Bludau's Goetchius House is being offered for sale at $250,000.00. It's valued on the tax digest at over $550,000.00.

Liberal's L-E "soundoff": "The simplistic thinking of some people is amazing: They think that the answer to everything is, “Get a job!” What do you think the Occupiers are protesting? There are no jobs! " -- Well, there are jobs for those who went to a school that taught basic real world courses. Besides, most of the people yelling "get a job" at "Occupy Whatever" protestors are probably their parents.
---
L-E headline: "Romney: Not focused on poor, they have safety net" -- This phrase, though taken completely out of context, will be the highlight of the most damaging ads potUS O'Blather will run as he gets re-elected. Until this, I was pretty OK with either Romney or Newt. Now I will be praying for Newt to fully recover from his dismal showing in FL.

L-E headline/story: "States get socked with Medicaid tax under new health care law * WASHINGTON — Under the health care overhaul, the federal government will start taxing itself and the states beginning in 2014. " -- News Flash! State and Federal Governments DON"T PAY TAXES! Grab hold of your wallet if potUS O'Blather is re-elected!

An atheist group at Vanderbilt wants permission to have a prayer group on campus. Are you kidding me?
