McClatchy news service app "headline": "Chavez has opponent in Venezuelan election". -- Tomorrow's probable headline will read, "Chavez's opponent dropped out......... a 10 story building.
---
Online story: "In its first nine months, the ObamaCare “tanning bed tax” raised only $54.4 million, barely one-third of the roughly $150 million predicted when the controversial — and costly — health care law was being debated in Congress." -- In other words, white men and women either stopped going to tanning beds (or bought their own for home use), and tanning salons have taken a beating, and tanning bed attendants are being laid off.

Online headline: "Mitt Romney Backed Earmarks As Governor " -- Oh, so now a governor requesting federal tax dollars to be sent back to it's taxpayers themselves is an 'earmark'. There are no 'earmarks' except those voted on to send by Congress. The secret to ending 'earmarks' is to eliminate taxing people in excess so that Congress doesn't have money that should have stayed within the states themselves.

It's amazing that the City thinks Spring Harbor should be paying property taxes, and at the same time, doesn't think CSU should pay any taxes on its school building in the downtown area. The CSU River Campus took prime land off the tax records, yet are afforded the CPD, CFD coverage taxpaying properties receive. If nothing more, CSU should be paying a fee for such service needs.

Looks like another of potUS O'Blather's 'green energy' companies is going down. Irony is that the company's name is "Genesis", and it symbolizes the first chapter of potUS O'Blather's (as co-written by Flip Wilson and Jon Lovitz) first post-election book, "It Wasn't My Fault, the Devil Made Me Do It... Yeah, That's The Ticket".

Though I'd vote for and support him in November, I'm still concerned Romney bowed out in 2008 believing McCain was a better Republican candidate.

Whitney Houston...mesmerizing voice...Bobby Brown...drugs...dead.
Media...let her RIP and let her be remembered only for and by her voice and songs.

From the "media bias" department - L-E headline story: "Obama’s budget heads to Congress * Obama’s spending blueprint for the budget year that begins Oct. 1 projects a deficit for this year of $1.33 trillion. That would mean four straight years of trillion-dollar-plus deficits. * While administration officials on Sunday defended the plan as a balanced approach, Republicans belittled the effort as a repeat of failed policies that did too little to attack soaring costs in such programs as Medicare and threatened growth by raising taxes. " -- "balanced approach"? At best, potUS O'Blather sent over a 'spending plan, not a budget. Sure Republicans wail, and I'm glad they do, but the story not told by the media is that this, like the previous 'budget plans', will not see the light of day in the Reid Senate.

From the 'rose-tinted glasses' department: L-E headline: "Al-Qaida complicates issue by backing Syrian revolt, by Elizabeth A. Kennedy" -- "Complicates"? Al Qaida has been "complicated" in every Mid-East skirmish/riot. Was Ms Kennedy one of CNN's ("see no evil, hear no evil, report no evil") anchors in Baghdad who didn't report the Saddam Hussein atrocities so they would stay on Hussein's party list?
---
L-E headline/story: "Police: Georgia man fatally shoots 16-year-old stepson * The teenager, whose name was not immediately released, was shot three times with a 12-gauge shotgun after the argument," -- Can't you see the public defender's plea argument? No, not accidental, but justified homicide?
