Randy Travis needs our prayers.

Randy Travis needs your prayers.

Online story: "The North Carolina House is set to vote on a controversial anti-abortion bill on Thursday, one day after its provisions were attached to unrelated motorcycle safety legislation without advanced notice to the public or Democratic lawmakers." -- Perfect example of why no additional bill or amend not directly related to a bill should be allowed to be "attached". A recent federal bill is/was the "farm bill". A "food stamp bill" was "attached" , but has been removed, but there are still unrelated bills "attached". It's bills that aren't strong enough on their own attached to other bills in order to get another Congressman/Senator's vote/support that cause the wasteful spending patterns of government.

---

HuffPost "headlie": "Morsi Opponents Reportedly Thrown To Their Deaths" --  "reportedly"? Guess the videos men being tossed off of roofs might have been faked on the fly.

---

Rumor has it that Jay Carney press sessions will be moved to the White House roof beginning today.

---

Have you seen the "old" Mr. Clean ads. He used to look like Yul Brenner, but now he looks like Kareem Abdul Jabbar following too many dives into chlorine.

---

The new superintendent's prospective doctorate is from the University of Chicago. Just what we need... another Chicago influenced educator ala our current Sec of Education Arne Duncan.

---

MSNBC's commentator for the Zimmerman trial said that she was trained in close fighting and that 40 seconds was definitely a long time to sustain such activity even if you were in shape, but that doesn't justify killing someone. Hummm, wonder what she would say if she was getting whipped, had access to a gun, and wanted simply to defend himself. Who... I repeat, who can even suggest, much less imply or prove George Zimmerman's plan all along was to kill Trayvon Martin?

---

It's sad that there's even a trial going on concerning George Zimmerman, but what's sadder is that the prosecution could produce no witnesses that confirm its accusations, and is only trying to discredit expert witnesses.

---

Granted that the jury was dismissed for the day, but I think it's rather biased for a judge to walk out of the room while an attorney is speaking on behalf of a defendant's rights in that court.

---

Legal eagles. Since a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty, and a defendant is entitled to speak with his/her attorney before saying anything, especially in court, under what authority does the judge have to bypass those givens?

---

The prosecution of George Zimmerman is so desperate to create facts out of clear air that when it produced a mannequin to demonstrate possible situations of the shooting that it chose a black vs flesh colored one.

---

After all the suggestions that the prosecution made that it could have been Zimmerman on top of Martin, the prosecution didn't even mention that possibility when it brought out a mannequin for demonstration purposes. (Unless you count that the mannequin was black and the lawyers atop of the mannequin were white)

Online story: "A Long Island school district has released a summer reading list riddled with spelling errors. * F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby" is misspelled as "The Great Gypsy." And author Emily Bronte is listed as Emily Bonte. * According to Newsday and News 12 Long Island, those are just a few of the more than 30 errors on the list provided by the Hempstead Public Schools." -- If our school board was on top of things, it would make a poster of this as a visual aid to make announcements of our kids testing scores look better.

---

Thanks to a fellow BCer:

To save from reading it all (a waste of time) but this "Proud Democrat" is upset because to be president, you have to be a 'natural citizen', and therefore she 'thinks' that people who's mothers had C-sections aren't eligible.

---

You know, segments.. ethnicities ... and even genders should be outraged at a political party claiming to represent them as a whole. As a member of any segment of life, I resent the idea that I would think (or even feel) like the platform of any one political patty, especially the DUMBERat Party, would totally speak for me.

---

Online headline: "Obama plans road trip to push immigration" -- Hmmm, maybe we'll see those $1 million dollar Canadian made buses again.

---

Looks like the body count for weapons given to Mexican drug cartels during the "fast & furious" debacle has passed 200. That's 200 civilians and police persons killed with guns the FFA and DOJ (under Judas 00-bama & Eric Holder) provided to drug cartels. Judas 00-bama evoked his "executive privilege" to shut down documents showing more detail. It's time to take the blinders off.

---

Washington, D.C. is about to raise the minimum wage for "big box" retail stores to $12.50. Walmart says it will cancel its building 6 new stores in the area if that happens. Once again government proves it had no concept of business nor the knowledge of how to create jobs.

---

Why are recidivist, especially sexual predators or violent crime committees given a set term? How about sentencing second timers to open ended sentences that make them prove they have had a miracle cure that will keep them from a third violation.

---

Man who caused 2010 fatal wreck released on probation * Attorney: Starling’s release not unusual; served 2 years of 8-year sentence " -- (_*_) attorney! What's not said is the Starling kid WAS SUPPOSED to be serving weekends in jail when this happened. This IS personal, very personal, because the Lavertys are my neighbors. Lets suppose the Starling person HAD been actually serving the time in his previous sentence.. can you see Chad's smile? Of course, the Public Defender is probably smugly proud that this is how "the system works". I repeat...(_*_)!

Lpow-info voter's L-E "soundoff": "MCSD has 21,407 students from below-poverty-income families with minimal or no parental involvement. There are 2,521 homeless students and 4,786 special ed students. Working against these odds, the CRCT scores look pretty good. " -- You know, only an employee, probably a teacher, administrator, or board member (or spouse) of the MCSD would 'think' like this. You can cut a little leeway for the "special ed", and maybe "homeless" categorized students, but there are another 25,000  students, regardless of their home income level, that deserve to have a chance when they graduate. ANY, I repeat, ANY self-serving antipathy and ANY acceptance/making of excuses, by a school employee is totally unacceptable!

---

Another low-info voter's L=E "soundoff": "All of you who scandalize President Obama, get over it. You are just hurting yourselves, not him." -- "you who scandalize President Obama"? "Scandal" means you've been caught/involved in something not acceptable to society. Society did not create Judas 00-bama's scandals... he did.. either personally or by implication, with his staff and appointees.

---

Another very low-info L-E "soundoff": "If homosexuals have accepted Jesus, they will be in Heaven with you. Think about that. " -- Well, acceptance is the first step, a very good one, I might add, but it's not the only one.

---

L-E headline: "APPLE 1 AUCTION * 1st Apple computer sells for $387,750" -- Hmmm, since two other "Apple 1s" have sold at auction for $640K and $671K , this one becomes the 3rd most expensive 'door stop' sold at auction.

---

L-E headline: "Pentagon looking at cuts in danger pay " -- Hmm, why not just pull all our soldiers out, and station them along our borders? Then the only American government people in danger areas would be DUMBERat appointees, and they deserve that.

---

L-E headline: "Ex-Army inspector accused of stealing IDs of Army personnel " -- Hmmm, of course, he's probably now on paid administrative leave, and will be appointed to head either the IRS or NSA when the mainstream media wanes on its coverage.

---

L-E editorial headline: "Lewis, school board both like what they see " -- Looks like we have a sequel movie plot hatching, "The Perfect Storm 2 meets the Titanic".

---

As to Callaway's future, who knows, but beginning with the 1996 Olympics, Callaway disassociated it self from "30 minutes north of Columbus" and became a "hour south of Atlanta" destination. Those extra 30 minutes driving time for their desired market musta hurt.

---

This is the front contender for the ironic picture of the year:

The tree rests against the office building of "Trees Columbus"... maybe TC needs to do an inventory of other trees on its property.

---

L-E headline/story: "Council OKs $150K crime prevention grants * “Statistics show that for every dollar we’re spending (on crime prevention), we’re saving taxpayers about two-and-a-half dollars,” he said. " -- Statistics, schmatistics! Forget statistics... what are the actual results!

---

Speaking of the above grants, I hope there one for Jr Marshals is not teaching the racist attitude of the Sr Marshal.

---

Online quote source: "Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.

Thomas A. Edison

-- This is one quote even the DUMBERats can undermine for their purposes: Guess this is why they keep bringing up minimum wages legislation, anti-photo IDs for voters, and entitlement programs.
