Lest we let the mainstream media 'forget':

---

Online story: "New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) vetoed legislation on Friday that would have banned .50-caliber rifles from the state, despite backing the same proposal just months ago. * In April 2013, Christie recommended banning the sale of Barrett .50-caliber semi-automatic sniper rifles as part of a group of proposals to curb gun violence. On Friday, Christie said the ban wouldn't make the Garden State any more safe, according to Reuters." -- Hmmm, Christie must be trying to differentiate himself from similar politicians like Biden and Clinton in order to appeal to Republicans.

Rumor has it that the Trial Lawyers Association has adopted a new symbol for it's letterheads and advertising campaign:

sharkception

---

Online story: "As of November, Germany will be the first country in Europe to offer a "third gender" distinction on its birth certificates.  * A new German law stipulates that children who are born of indeterminate gender no longer have to be categorized as "male" or "female." Instead, parents can choose to leave the space blank on their child's birth certificate, according to German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung. Those individuals can eventually decide whether to identify as male, female or neither." -- Gimmee a break! Is science trying to tell us that it can determine sexual orientation at actual birth? Leaving the "gender" space 'blank' is worse than the plumbing industry not marking which direction is hot or cold on your shower handle.

After seeing the tantrum of A-rod, I'm beginning to see that MLB should set the minimum wage as the top salary any baseball player can receive.

---

Online headline/story: "Iran Has 18,000 Centrifuges For Uranium Enrichment, Outgoing Nuclear Chief Claims * Abbasi says 10,000 centrifuges currently operating are of an older model, IR-1, while about 7,000 more of the same model are ready to be installed along with just over 1,000 centrifuges of an advanced new model. * The U.S. and its allies fear Iran is seeking to produce nuclear weapons. Tehran says its nuclear program is peaceful." -- Hmm, just as we do of our socialist leaning Obamarats, we must ask Iran to define what it mean by "peaceful".

---

Online story: "President Barack Obama golfed with actor, writer and comedian Larry David on Saturday." -- Oh, it's "OK" to play golf with a clown and "shoot the bull" in Martha's Vineyard, but not "OK" for a clown to "shoo a bull" in Missouri.

---

Online headline: "Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg ejected vs. Braves" -- What's MLB trying to do... emulate hockey? I'm not sure what's worse, a coach telling a pitcher to intentionally throw at a player or a coach tell a batter to intentionally get hit by a pitch. Neither act belongs in baseball. but even sadder is that both have crept into Little League baseball.

Just looking at a "Top 5" list of best/worst cars for overall fuel costs, and thought it ironic the Government Motors did not have a representative vehicle in the "best" category, but it had 2 in the "worst" category.

---

Once the ball gets rolling, it's hard to stop it... rumor has that Jadeveon Clowney has been banned from NCAA football for dressing up like a defensive end and bull-dogging a quarterback.

---

Online headline: "Egypt Considers Legally Disbanding Muslim Brotherhood" -- Bet this will finally get Judas 00-bama to declare it's been a coupe in Egypt.

---

L-E headline: "IS COLUMBUS DANGEROUS? * 2012 study ranks city America’s ‘Most Dangerous’ High property crime stats push city to top of list  * Violent crime in Macon significantly higher than in Columbus" -- Hmmm, pointing at the crime splinter in Macon's eye will not hide the log in Columbus'. Maybe Mayor Obamalinson should scrap the "high speed rail" study, and focus on a high speed JAIL system.

---

L-E headline/story: "ALL PHENIX CITY STUDENTS OFFERED SCHOOL BREAKFAST * School district participating in federal pilot program * “If we increase our breakfast numbers,” she said, “we’ll have less tardies, better attendance and less visits to the school nurse.”  * Griffin figures the free breakfast also could increase the participation rate of 71 percent in the lunch program. * “When breakfast is free,” she said, “it helps the parents better afford lunch.”  -- Arrggghhhh!!!!! WRONG! When breakfast is "free", people want to know why lunch isn't "free"! And just like a "free lunch", there's no such thing as a "free breakfast"; we are paying for it!
---
L-E headline: "The money is just 'gone': Eddings case ruling leaves some with nothing" -- As I wrote yesterday, does anyone know why Michael Eddings is still listed as a member of the Medical Center Hospital Authority? I would think this panel is deep in real estate discussions and transactions.
---
And what about the Trice sisters? They got a bounced check from Eddings for the sale of their fathers legacy to them. Where is the local NCAAP defending their rights? Is it because Eddings isn't white?

Low-info voter's L-E "soundoff": " Perhaps the Sandy victim Powerball winners should share their winnings with other victims. Seems only fair. " -- "Fair? "Seems only fair"? Libs need to know how the rest of  the world defines "fair". Like I told my children as they grew up, 'the fair comes in October'. Libs can't stand it when they don't get 'their fair share' of someone else's money or effort.

---

L-E headline: "Ga. man faces trial in killing of baby in stroller " -- OK, where's Al Sharpton? Did baby Antonio Santiago not look like Judas 00-bama as a baby? Where's the L-E's support of a 100 Stroller March? Could it simply be that Sharpton, 00-bama and the L-E are simply racially biased?

---

A local Obamarat columnist who works for Sanford Bishop sounds off on naming schools after someone. Who's to say naming a middle school after someone is an honor at all? Take the recent naming of a new middle school after one of Columbus' finest citizens and juvenile judge extraordinaire...  Judge Aaron Cohn ran his court in a disciplined, caring manner that probably will not be attained by any school.. nor will his results. Where is the honor in naming a school after him that will not seek, much less attain, his standards.

---

L-E headline: "In rush to write, students leave spelling, grammar behind " -- Yeah, and that's just in math!

---

L-E headline: "Egyptian government paints opponents as terrorists; U.S. journalists targeted " -- Hmmm, well now maybe mainstream media will start calling it a coupe in spite of Judas 00-bama's denials.

---

L-E story: "LOS ANGELES — A Los Angeles County law requiring adult film performers to wear condoms is constitutional, a federal judge has ruled. * The decision is a setback to porn producers who filed a lawsuit to block the implementation of the Safer Sex in the Adult Film Industry Act, or Measure B, which was approved by voters last November" -- Is  this no surprise? A federal court will rule in favor of  'safer perversion' but not in safer voting, safer streets, safer religious expression, and safer pregnancies.

From the "what's wrong with this picture" department:

A local attorney has written a book titled "The Fish House Gang"... I doubt it will be worth reading because the "Fish House Gang" was a group of politically tied (and often elected) individuals who determined the local political scenario in the valley in days past. Why do I feel this way? Simple, the writer/attorney is still alive.
