Online story: ""Ex-gay" gospel singer Donnie McClurkin was cut from a Martin Luther King Jr. memorial concert Saturday because of the "potential controversy" it would cause. * McClurkin, who believes God absolved him from the "curse" of homosexuality, was set to perform Saturday at the “Reflections on Peace: From Gandhi to King” concert commemorating the 50th anniversary of King's March on Washington, The Washington Post noted. *The Washington Post reported Monday that Mayor Vincent C. Gray (D)requested McClurkin not attend after activists challenged the singer's appearance. Gray said he didn't want any "potential controversy" to arise at an event focused on harmony and peace." -- Well, well, well... Mayor Gray, the "potential controversy" you refer to has certainly 'hit the fan'. What's your excuse for not re-inviting him?

Online headline: "{certified (_*_) } Takes Cyanide After Child Sex Conviction" -- Hmmm, maybe a glass of water, a cyanide pill, and 5 minutes locked in a private room without handcuffs should be a court standard procedure for sex offender and death sentence case convictions.

---

Online story: "San Diego Mayor Bob Filner (D) is facing even more scrutiny, this time for his financial activity while in office *  statements ( including$511 of expenses over five months at the Westgate Hotel, a hotel across the street from the city's administration building) from January to May for the mayor's city credit card, which is paid with taxpayer dollars" -- Now we know what gets Obamarats' shorts in a wad... other people's money being spent without them getting a piece of it.

---

Online headline: "San Diego-Area Hooters Refuses To Serve Bob Filner " -- Hmmm, "Hooters" gets it.

---

Online story: "NEW YORK -- New York City Comptroller John Liu, the city's top financial officer who is also running for mayor, is proposing a historic overhaul of the city's marijuana laws, believing that legalizing medical marijuana and allowing adults to possess an ounce of pot for recreational use would pump more than $400 million into the city's coffers." -- And that's just from the new taxes! Of course, With a 20% excise tax, and the 8.875 City sales tax, (and I'm sure he find a way to impose the $1.50 cigarette tax), what marijuana dealer is going to bother getting a business license, and filing/collecting/paying that tax revenue?

---

Online headline: "Anthony Weiner Says Comments About Wife's Role With Hillary Clinton Were 'A Joke'" -- Hmmm, there is a joke in there somewhere.. but I think it's just another Weiner one.

From a fellow BCer:

And while we're at it, there's a 1912 8th grade test "going viral" on the Internet. Maybe Today's teachers should have to take mit on a pass/fail bais to keep their jobs.

---

From the "this idea's time has come" department - In today's world of electronics, why do we pay for Congresspersons to travel to Washington, D.C.? Internet sessions would cut down travel, office, and staff expenses, and lobbying would pretty much be eliminated, and, as a bonus, we could get copies of any deal-making text, e-mail or cellphone messages.

Obama orders creation of intelligence review group.
President Barack Obama is directing his national intelligence director to form a panel of outside experts to review government intelligence and communications technologies.

Mad Bomber, Ted Kaczynski?  Nah... it's the MAD O-bomb-a

Online story: "Last week, Newark, New Jersey Mayor Cory Booker came under fire for alleged crony capitalism involving his Internet startup, Waywire, which tapped CNN chief Jeff Zucker’s 15-year-old son to be a compensated “millennial adviser” for Booker’s company.  * Now, on Monday, the New York Post is reporting that Booker bagged “confidential” annual payouts from his past law firm from 2007 to 2011, during which time his law firm hauled in over $2 million in legal work for Newark agencies Booker controlled." -- Who says Booker is not prepared enough to be an Obamarat Senator?

---

Ever thought about why Ted Kennedy gave Judas 00-bama a Portuguese Water dog?

---

There are petitions online asking you to protest to NBC/MSNBC/CNN not to run "Hillary" minis-series before the next election. Hey, don't bother.. just get a petition up nominating Rush Limbaugh to be the script writer and producer..

---

The Republicans need to revamp their mascot/symbol. Everyone else knows elephant art/symbolism is better with the elephant's trunk upward.

---

Coptic Christians, one even a 10 year old girl leaving a Bible study session, are being picked out and killed on the streets of Egypt. Judas 00- bama is sending money and arms to these folks.

---

There's a Michigan oncologist whio's bilked Medicare ("us") out of $35 million in a 2-year period, primarily giving cancer radiation/chemo treatments to people who don't have cancer. In one actual situation, a patient fell and hit his head at his clinic but was told he needed chemotherapy before he could be taken to a hospital, according to the FBI. The man later died from the head injury." -- What's worse is that a judge was about to assess the "dr' a $175K bond amount, but fortunately another judge made a better informed decision to raise it to $9 MILLION and froze his $7 MILLION dollar personal accounts before the "dr" could get out and back to Lebanon. Welcome to ObamaCare.

Online story: "A fuel pipeline exploded beneath a western Illinois cornfield, sending flames hundreds of feet into the sky and leaving a 15-foot-deep crater before pipeline crews were able to stem the flow of fuel and bring the fire under control, authorities said. * Rainey said the fuel did not spill, but either vaporized or burned off. He said it is too soon to say what caused the explosion, and that the company was investigating. * A spokesman for the U.S. Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration said that agency would investigate, and an inspector was en route to the explosion site. The investigation will include determining if the operator was in compliance with federal pipeline safety regulations." -- Wanna make a bet some liberal anti-pipeline group is behind this?

---

Online headline: "On Eve of Talks, Israel Approves More Housing and Stops a Rocket" --Just a routine day in Israel.. and Judas 00-bama wants to put more weapons in Muslim hands... Who is the Republican in charge of recruiting Jewish support of Republican candidates?

---

Today's L-E headline: "COUNCIL OKS WESTVILLE’S MOVE * 1850s living history museum will move from Lumpkin to 35 acres in south Columbus " * Probable L-E headline for tomorrow: "NAACP calls for rally to protest racism"

---

L-E headline: "Basketball mistaken as drowning victim * Witness reported person crying for help Monday "  -- A casualty of mid-night basketball?

---

L-E headline/story: "Man who left baby next to dead mom seeks new trial * Magee convicted in 2008 of killing Hurricane Katrina evacuee; hearing on new trial in Nov. *  On April 25, 2008, Magee was convicted of murder and reckless conduct. Then-Superior Court Judge Robert Johnston III sentenced him to life in prison. " -- No doubt on the basis this was a racist drug sentence ala Eric Holder.

---

Low info voter's (possibly teacher) L-E "soundoff": "Our presidents reflect the personality of our people — FDR, Ike, JFK, Nixon, Clinton, and now Obama. We deserve it. " -- Hmm, we know libs like to edit history, but to wipe out the terms of Ford, Carter and both Bushes is a little too revealing.

---

L-E's "Thought for Today": “The old forget. The young don’t know.” — Japanese proverb. " -- Hmmm, sounds like the Obamarat game plan for teaching children.

---

I have a tough time associating lesser sentencing for drug crimes. Most crimes are against non-users to get money to buy drugs, or when they are on drugs.

---

L-E story: "WASHINGTON — About half the people who now buy their own health insurance — and potentially would face higher premiums next year under President Barack Obama’s health care law — would qualify for federal tax credits to offset rate shock, according to a new private study. " -- Hmmm, so if your lower healthcare costs go up, you get tax credits.. since taxes will go up to offset these tax credits, how do you save on healthcare costs?

---

L-E story: "ATLANTA — If Georgia was starting from scratch, it could not financially justify the nuclear power plant now under construction.  * That conclusion from state utility regulators bluntly illustrates how an anticipated boom in nuclear power went bust as natural gas prices plummeted, the economy fell into a severe recession and construction proved pricier than expected. The latest calculations show that finishing the two new reactors at Plant Vogtle in eastern Georgia is the cheapest financial option, but the numbers are a warning for other utilities considering new construction anytime soon." -- This demonstrates exactly why the PSC should not be empowered to grant utility monopolies virtual 'taxing powers' to charge consumers to pay for new construction in advance. Having such access to consumer wallets cuts down the responsibility of GA Power et al to be accountable for their decisions/wants.

You know, if we don't have enough middle school students, even after closing Marshall, why did the MCSD build and open a new one. It just cost local taxpayers more since the State does not fully fund under-sized schools?
