Today is our youngest's 17th birthday (and main reason the BC is a shade later than normal).. We bought her an iPhone (of course she may never engage in conversation with us again for the next 6 years or so as "iPhone" was her main topic of starting a conversation), and since she's got classes today, we'll have to wait til this afternoon to activate it so her other phone will stay working until then. Me, out of concern that she have a fulyl charged phone, plugged in the charger. Though no sim card is in it, it came on "welcoming us" in Spanish, then English, a couple of more languages, but then it welcomed us in Farsi. This is America! I resent the phone already being programmed as a bomb detonator!

So the Braves are not going to renew its 20 year lease with Fulton County. Hmmm, aside from the county stupidly agreeing to an initial 20 year only lease, it looks like Fulton County backed the wrong team for Atlanta sports arenas. The Falcons play 8 home game (and playoffs are never a certainty) versus the Braves playing 81 regular season games. Just the crowd revenues & taxes will now be collected in Cobb County instead, even the hotels in Cobb County will benefit to the detriment of Fulton County alternatives.
