I'll never forget this day from 1963. I was in study Hall in the CHS Auditorium. The Ham Radio Club had a radio room in the ceiling above the auditorium stage, All of a sudden the trap door flew open, and a harried voice rung out, "President Kennedy has been shot!" The 100 or so students in the auditorium had to be some of the first in Columbus to know what had happened. That memory is as vivid today as then.

HuffPost headline: "Chris Christie: Can He Avoid Becoming The Next Marco Rubio?" -- "become the next"? Christie is already TWO Marco Rubios.

We remember all the speeches then Senator 00-bama made about Bush43 raising the Nation Debt, but now we have video of campaign mode Judas 00-bama chastising Bush43 about overriding Congressional laws with Executive Orders. You know, this is the plight of habitual liars... they can't remember who they told what lies.
---
Online headline: "Obama Orders Flags To Be Flown At Half-Staff On JFK Assassination Anniversary" -- You know, Judas 00-bama will wake up this AM, look out across Washington and see all the flags at half-mast, and he'll think they are there because of his order. I imagine they would be at half-mast anyway.

Online story: "Former NFL linebacker Channing Crowder played with the Miami Dolphins for six seasons. He played in 82 games throughout his career. At one point during all 82 games, the former Dolphins linebacker says he peed on himself. * "I never went to the bathroom in the toilet. Every game I peed myself. Six years straight I peed down my leg," Crowder said on NFL Films Presents. "I would just be in the huddle and just... pee. Nobody in the stands would know unless you look down like, 'that's not water man.' My teammates didn't enjoy it as much as I did." -- The new All-Madden team is falling in place, and all of a sudden, a new class of Fantasy Football League teams is getting put together by itself.

Online story: "The long-heralded feminist and mouthpiece for unrestrictive abortion Gloria Steinem was honored by President Obama. In addition to honoring Steinem, he also made the opportunity for Steinem to honor her philosophical mentor Margaret Sanger (1879-1966). * Sanger’s birth control and eugenics organization became what we know today as Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the United States. * Sanger’s views were no different from those of Adolf Hitler and his call for a pure Master Race. She was all about keeping what she described as the “unfit” from breeding in order to “create a race of thoroughbreds. * So here we have President Obama awarding the Medal of Freedom to a woman who extols the virtues of Margaret Sanger who wanted a pure-race world free of the likes of someone like Obama." -- Now, I do suspect that Judas 00-bama finally will actually be right when he says later on today that he first read about this in the newspaper.

Online story: "Lunenburg High School (MA) will forfeit the remaining two games of its football season after an ugly incident in which a student’s home was defaced with racist graffiti. * “That was a decision made by the superintendent and the School Committee,” said Town Manager Kerry Speidel. “I feel it is the right decision.” * Isaac Phillips, a member of the school’s Blue Knights football team, found the graffiti spray-painted on his home Friday. Police and the FBI are investigating. * Isaac’s family had urged the school system to shut down the season, especially if the crime was not solved. Phillip’s father is half black and his mother is white. * “I feel they shouldn’t play,” said Anthony Phillips, Isaac’s father, at a vigil on Sunday night." -- Good grief! Find the players and deal with them, but to punish the whole team just makes this kid's father a contender for the new All-Madden team. And the FBI is involved? You know, this makes me wonder exactly how diverse the MA schools really are. Since the 60's MA politicians have railed against Southern segregation as though MA schools had done it perfectly. I thought that until 1992, when two teams, one all white, and one all black were to meet for the Boston area championship. An article in the paper announced that buses would be sent to the schools involved, pick up the players and the cheerleaders, and whisk them off to an unannounced location to play the championship game at 11:00 AM with zero fans/parents in the bleachers. It doesn't sound like Massachusetts has evolved very much.

Online story: "NEW YORK (AP) — Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is awash in animal-related protests over its floats, with controversies involving the unlikely pairing of rocker Joan Jett and Shamu the killer whale. * Activists plan to line the route of next week's parade to protest a SeaWorld float over accusations in a new documentary that the theme parks treat whales badly. And ranchers succeeded in getting Jett pulled off the South Dakota tourism float after they questioned why the vegetarian and animal-rights ally was representing their beef-loving state." -- You know, some people cannot be happy unless they are miserable. PETA is a group of these people.

I've about had it with MLB "stars". A-rod...a guy who's turned a penchant and talent for a kid's game into a personal fortune and had been caught, multiple times for PEDs, is now whining because MLB has had enough of drugs in its sport. You know, players like A-rod think it's OK to put medicines of their choice in their bodies, but cry when it comes to taking the 'medicine' needed to cure baseball of this plague.

I'm in heaven... I'm down in our playroom watching my 18 month old granddaughter at play.. she's wearing a pair of boots. As she quirkily moves around the room, I'm thinking how much she walks like Fred Gwynne wearing his Herman Munster lift shoes. All the world is wonderful. (Pssst..don't tell me you cannot visualize her walking like this)

When you're hot, you're hot. When you're not... Judas 00-bama has a proven track record of ignoring the Constitution, especially the 10th, but OObamaCRAP may be the final straw... Even with Judas 00-bama's attempted coup of 00bamaCRAP, he has even less authority to over rule laws that individual states have passed to conform with 00bamaCRAP.

Online story: "California's new health exchange will not allow canceled policies to extend past the end of the year, defying President Barack Obama's effort to repair his pledge that people can keep their current plans. " -- God is good.. Not long after I put down the above item in a memo to myself, this story about California challenging Judas 00-bama's attempted coup of the 10th Amendment hit the Internet. You know, if California were casting it's Electoral College votes today, there would probably be an 110 vote swing, Take away California's votes for 00-bama, and disqualify Illinois votes for probable vote fraus cause, and Romney would be President.

L-E story: "The DNA test that appeared to clear convicted "Stocking Strangler" Carlton Gary in one of the heinous serial killings of 1977-78 was wrong, according to prosecution court filings today. * The documents state the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in a report dated Nov. 14 found the male DNA profile attributed to evidence tested from Martha Thurmond’s Oct. 25, 1977, rape and strangling “is actually the result of contamination from a quality-control sample.” * The agency has confirmed the error, having “conclusively matched the errant DNA profile to a quality control sample maintained by the laboratory,” according to the motion filed by District Attorney Julia Slater and Senior Assistant District Attorney Don Kelly." -- Case closed! Carry out Gary's death sentence today! (note to foreign, younger, and non-area readers: Carlton Gary terrorized Columbus back in the late 70's with his brutal rapes and murders of older, defenseless women in some of Columbus' older neighborhoods)

Online headline/story: "Most of NSA’s data collection authorized by order Ronald Reagan issued * Approved by President Ronald Reagan in 1981, Executive Order 12333 (referred to as “twelve-triple-three”) still governs most of what the NSA does. It is a sweeping mandate that outlines the duties and foreign intelligence collection for the nation’s 17 intelligence agencies. It is not governed by Congress, and critics say it has little privacy protection and many loopholes. What changes have been made to it have come through guidelines set by the attorney general or other documents." -- Well, seeing how the Internet and radio/cell phones were pretty much non-existent for average Americans in 1981, it looks like subsequent Attorney Generals have pretty much overturned any safeguards that were intended in the original 1981 authorization. Obviously Pric Holder has run amok with the power.

Harry Reid has changed the rules in the Senate on confirmations. Using a back way method, he has changed the confirmation process of appointees to a simple majority versus a super majority. In other words, the controlling party in the Senate has an unchecked power to confirm questionably qualified nominees. On the other hand, pay back is hell when there's a swing of power to the other party, and changes like Dingy Harry just made often encourage such in the next election. With any luck, Reid will be out of his day job in early 2015.

McClatchy headline/story: "The nation’s largest news organizations lodged a complaint Thursday against the White House for imposing unprecedented limitations on photojournalists covering President Barack Obama, which they say have harmed the public’s ability to monitor its own government. * “Journalists are routinely being denied the right to photograph or videotape the president while he is performing his official duties,” according to a letter the organizations sent to the White House. “As surely as if they were placing a hand over a journalist’s camera lens, officials in this administration are blocking the public from having an independent view of important functions of the executive branch of government.” -- Well, mainstream media, welcome to pre-holocaust Germany under Hitler. Perhaps a song idea of Toby Keith might become the mainstream media's rally theme, "How do you like him now!"

From the "we will never have to wonder again" department: My daughter ordered a protective phone case for her new phone. Yesterday afternoon, I was notified that the order had been shipped and got the USPS tracking number. This AM, I clicked on the tracking info and found how the shipment was progressing. It left the USPS Sort Facility in Pensacola and arrived at Miramar Beach, FL at 4:00 PM. It left Miramar Beach at 5:40. It arrived back at the Pensacola Sort Facility at 8:16. After 4 hours and 16 minutes, and untold fuel and labor and equipment expense, her phone case has progressed zero feet. Ain't government AND union workers efficient? Hmm, probably explains why our public education system sucks as well.

With a thought assist from a fellow BCer: As it stands now, more people have seen Bigfoot than have successfully signed up on 00bamaCRAP. Choke on that, Ripley!

You know, about the only immigration reform idea that will actually help America is to send Pric Holder to Reform School.

Remember when the Clintons tried to overwhelm our healthcare system... we called it HillaryCare then and still do. Now Judas 00-bama wants to stop referring to his ObamaCare bill, and start using Affordable Care Act. I guess he's afraid it might taint his legacy in the future. Guess what 00-bama, people aren't going to remember it as ObamaCare or Affordable Care Act... they will remember it for what it is...00bamaCRAP.

L-E story: "Phenix City unveiled an ambitious plan Thursday to revitalize the Thirteenth Street corridor, bringing the empty site of the old Cobb Hospital into the mix. * The city would swap two acres of the 18-acre hospital land to the Fletcher McCollister American Legion Post 135 in exchange for its 2-acre property at the corner of 13th Street and Broad Street. The city would also build a new $3.5 million facility for the American Legion, surrounded by a $3 million “Homage Park,” to pay tribute to the five branches of the U.S. armed forces — the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard, Phenix City Mayor Eddie Lowe announced.
* “What we want to do here in Phenix City is have a niche, something that is so unique that it will be the best in the state if not the best in the country,” Lowe said. “We want to pay homage to each branch of the military." -- Nice try, Phenix City, but I think the military will never forget the 1940s-50s image of Phenix City no matter how much lipstick you put on.
---
L-E story: "If you think the only ones in the huge Olympic-sized pool in the Columbus Aquatic Center are young, fit swimmers dreaming of making it to the next Olympics, you'd be wrong. * Since it opened Aug. 10, Amanda Hamrick, the program director, has seen a wide range of people. * And she wants to see even more in the facility" -- OK, let's see some hard numbers on revenues, usage and expenses.

From the 'I've been thinking about this again" department - Edward Dubose has gone to Chicago to discuss how to curb black-on-black crime. It's bad enough that he's limiting the discussion to just black-on-black crime, but why didn't he start here in Columbus to discuss all the woes of all black crime?
---
L-E story: " CENTENNIAL, Colo. — The judge in the Colorado theater shootings case on Thursday indefinitely postponed the trial of James (_*_) so attorneys can argue whether he should undergo another psychiatric evaluation." -- Hey, while we're at, why not just plan for a best 2-out-of-3 series or maybe a round of rock/paper/scissors? Enough wasting of tax dollars.. The only question that needs to be looked at is whether there's any witness there who says he wasn't the (_*_) who did that. Hang'em high!

Hmmm, 50 years ago, the United Givers Fund volunteers were trying to raise $668,013 dollars. That amount wouldn't even pay the salaries/expense of today's United Way organization.
---
L-E story: "WASHINGTON — The number of homeless people in the U.S. declined for a third straight year, helped by sharp dropoffs in veteran and chronic homelessness, according to a government survey released Thursday." -- Please don't tell Mayor Obamalinson... she'll take credit.

L-E headline/story: "Skakel freed on bail as he awaits new Connecticut trial * Skakel, the 53-year-old nephew of Robert F. Kennedy’s widow, Ethel, touched his hand to his chest and looked back at supporters in the courtroom... as the judge set bail at $1.2 million * A judge ruled last month that Skakel’s trial attorney, Michael Sherman, failed to adequately represent Skakel in 2002 " -- This is pure BS.. The Kennedys probably owned the lawyer and the judge of the day. No verdict should be overturned on the basis of representation, especially when a high profile defendant is so politically connected. I can see where a judge presented with credible new evidence might order a new trial on such basis.. but not on what the judge ordered this.
---
L-E's "Quotable": “Too often we enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.” John F. Kennedy 35th U.S. President (1917-1963) -- Wow... Kennedy self-prophesied today's liberals and mainstream media in 13 words.

From the "we knew Hollywood was warped" department- L-E movie review: " “Dallas Buyers Club” can be faulted for hiding the death sentences that AIDS handed out in the ’80s, for casting things a tad too on the nose — with Steve Zahn as Woodroof’s cop pal and Dallas Roberts as his drawling, sympathetic lawyer. * But that takes nothing away from this thoroughly entertaining jaunt through AIDS history . “Dallas Buyers Club” is one of the best pictures of the year." -- "thoroughly entertaining jaunt through AIDS history"? What sickos! There was nothing entertaining about AIDS in the '80s. I can remember when my doctors were concerned for me because I'd had a 'packed pint' (literally 4 pints worth of red corpuscles "packed" into a single transfusion of blood) given me following a near death experience of internal bleeding because of ulceration. I was told the incubation period for AIDS was 5 years, and that when the blood was originally donated, no tests were made to check for the AIDS virus. There was absolutely nothing "entertaining" about this jaunt through time

L-E headline: "EXPERTS: HEALTHCARE.GOV   FIX NEEDS MORE TIME, MONEY" -- DOH! Name me one government program that doesn't need more time and more money tp "fix" it. Trouble is, it doesn't matter how much time or money you pour into a government program.. (as Ron White would aptly say) "you can't fix stupid"!
