This quasi pope has really pissed me off. The nerve of him to blame capitalism for the woes of the world. Capitalism built the Catholic Church! The working poor, the middle class, the business class and even the wealth, built the Catholic Church with their honest toil , sweat, and tithes & donations. On the other hand politicians beat, coerced, imprison the same people to squeeze taxes out of them, and this guy wants to cure the ills of the world by putting the "cure" in the hands of politicians rather than hard working & honest citizens. Recall this pretender to the Vatican. He would be more suitably at home sitting at the right hand side of Judas Oo-Barnum so there'd be two leftist hands in the Oval Office!
---
Man... is Donald St(_*_)rling's meltdown timely..it's as if God is revealing his plan to demonstrate the effectiveness of free will, unfettered capitalism and the folly of the pope. Public sentiment will bring down St(_*_)ing, free will will demonstrate the unity of all the races, and the pope's insistence that "inequality of wealth is the root of evil". Let him find new jobs for Clipper players.
---
The NBA just blew it.. players who have gone after fans in the bleachers have been slapped on the wrist, but when a demented octogenarian becomes a babbling idiot, the NBA came out swinging baseball bats.. Of note, the owners sent an errand boy out to do it. Haven't been a fan since the early 80s,and do not see being curious enough to try again in the future.
---
Judas 00-Barnum... see how easy it is to convict someone in the court if public opinion... try it in the court system with the DOJ, IRS, and Benghazi.
---
Not since Judas 00-Barnum drew his first line in the sand have I seen a wimpier tirade than the one Adam Silver gave concerning Donald St(_*_)rling. I thought I was seeing James Carville doing Silver on a Saturday Night Live spoof.
---
Online story: "Larry Johnson, who played in the NBA for ten years, has called for an “All-Black” basketball league in the wake of racist remarks made by the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers. * Johnson, who now works in the front office of the New York Knicks, tweeted, “Black people your Focusing on the wrong thing. We should be focusing on having our own, Own team own League! To For Self!!”" -- All right, where's the NBA now when it should be out whacking down a racist with baseball bats!
---
It must be epidemic! Online story: "Former NBA player Shaquille O'Neal is facing sharp criticism from fans after posting a photo to his Instagram account making fun of (physically disfigured fan) Michigan-native Jahmel Binion, according to MLive." -- I don't think the NBA front office has anyone big enough to swing a big enough bat to Shaq's head....
---
The harlot that illegally released taped conversations of the L(_*_) Clippers stupid owner.. what's the difference, the real difference, between what she's done, and what Edward Snowden did? Both illegal obtain intimate, personal info, and both posted it illegally, so what's the difference? Well, the difference is Judas 00-Barnum wants to convict Snowden, but not the harlot...Judas 00-Barnum sees more expedient gain in persecuting the victim.
---
You know.. the NBA and mainstream media could have dealt St(_*_)rling an even worse fate.. simply turn their backs, walk away and end his spot in the limelight. Intentional and eternal silence is a better response to bad behavior.
---
Online story: "BAGHLAN MARKAZI, Afghanistan, April 29 (Reuters) - Afghan police have arrested the parents of a 14-year-old girl after they attacked a religious cleric and cut off his nose and ears in retaliation for what they say were a series of sexual attacks on their daughter." -- Hmmm, personally, I'd thought they would have gone for the "eye for an eye" under sharia laws. Well, they should have!
---
Just took a break to share a 2nd birthday moment with my granddaughter. That's right, she's two.. can hardly believe time has flown like this. One reminder of reality, though, is the thorough re-indoctrination into the world of disney (hey, even I know I can't avoid disney with a two year old). One thing I'd forgotten is how dastardly disney packages their products! It's war on parents and grandparents alike trying to open a disney gift package fast enough for a 2 year old!
---
Irate L-E "soundoff": " Thanks MCSD, for taking Special Olympics away from our special ed students. The one thing they look forward to … You should be ashamed. Whoever cut that from the budget needs THEIR job cut!" -- Hmmm, and what's probable is that by cutting the job of the one who cut the Special Olympics, there would be enough money saved to participate in the Special Olympics. Hey, now thw the SO is gone, we don't need the"cutter's job" either! Double savings! Personally, the MCSD shouldn't have been doing so all along.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " With Georgia having a new gun law, my family and I will stay clear of Georgia. We will no longer go to any events in Georgia, you bunch of silly hillbillies." -- Well, ain't that special, and bless their hearts.. Georgian's will benefit forever from their non-presence.. especially having one less car with Bama plates terrorizing our streets.
---
Lew Alcindor...Kareem Abdul Jabbar rose to stardom in the wake of all the furor some demented octogenarian has been crucified with this week. In a piece for "TIME", he said, "Shouldn’t we be equally angered by the fact that his private, intimate conversation was taped and then leaked to the media? Didn’t we just call to task the NSA for intruding into American citizen’s privacy in such an un-American way? Although the impact is similar to Mitt Romney’s comments that were secretly taped, the difference is that Romney was giving a public speech. The making and release of this tape is so sleazy that just listening to it makes me feel like an accomplice to the crime. We didn’t steal the cake but we’re all gorging ourselves on it." -- Well since it was published in "TIME", not many have seen it, but this may just erase the embarrassing image I last have of Kareem in a swimsuit on "Diving With The Stars".
---
HuffPost headline: "Okla. botches man's execution * The state's first double execution in 80 years went horribly awry, resulting in inmate Clayton Lockett's death by heart attack." -- Huh? Sounds like it went "OK" to me.. Some cretin got a taste of well deserved hell, and those waiting will reflect deeply on what got them there, plus... plus some wannabe thug maybe having second thoughts about the life path he/she is thinking about. Yeah... things went better than "OK".
---
Hey, the Oklahoma double execution went a lot better than the NBA's of the L(_*_) Clippers' owner. Stupid people with too much money aren't going to rush in and but a NBA team anymore.
---
Between the goodwill created by Hallmark's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered", and the slick Spiderman ad campaign, I'd say the USPO has squandered millions of $$'s, and endless smart public relations by simply not delivering the mail in a timely manner. Dealing with family ritual mailings has been a nightmare. I'm not sure my daughter's fiance has received his invitation to the wedding .
---
A fellow BCer expanded on the Twin Cities Mayoral "Dragon Boat Race".. I figures Columbus was a shoe-in with a real live dragon for a captain, but our friend pointed out, "What in the world does the Mayor need a boat for? After all she walks on whitewater."... Touche'
---
Now Kerry claims he just "grasped" the wrong word... Hmmm, what other word would he use instead of "apartheid"? I'm sure Roget's Thesaurus is loaded with similar sounding and meaning words
---
How sick is this... The Democrats are paying strategists to go on TV and defuse the scandalous wasteful spending in the USDA school food programs.. $6.2 Billion in documented waste. To boot, even the Democrat strategists can't talk about it and keep a straight face. They consider it chump change... Well, it's time to change the chumps. We've been it too long!
---
L-E story: "A proposed "public-public partnership" between Columbus and Fort Benning could produce about $230,000 in revenue for the city's Recycling and Sustainability Center, Deputy City Manager David Arrington told Columbus Councilors today. * A section of the 2013 National Defense Authorization Act allows military installations to enter into partnerships with neighboring governments in a number of different functions, one of which is recycling. When that became law, it created an opportunity for both the city and the post to take advantage of, Arrington said." -- Wait a minute... a public-public partnership? Who exactly will have financial liability for financial loss areas? Seems to me, we taxpayers are on the hook either way.
---
The rose is definitely off the vine... As if Jan 1, incandescent bulbs ceased to be manufactured. We'll be stuck with ugly replacement bulbs forevermore. You'd think all the incandescent bulbs would be gone now, but they aren't .. In fact I think there are more now than in January. Of course, supply and demand has those 4/$1.98 packs retailing for $4.98 now as consumers see what they are going to have to spend on those ugly replacements.
---
I hear a lotta talk about the Libertarian Party and the Tea Party as being "options". They really aren't..we conservatives need a bonding of like thoughts that are really the planks of the Reagan platform. Let's not tug away from the Republican Party, .. We just need to keep in mind that the Republican Party needs us.. needs us to regain leadership from the 00-Barnum administration, and needs us to reshape the party direction. What's not needed is draconian moral stances that God will ultimately resolve on a one-on-one.
---
Another LIV's L-E "soundoff": " That bankruptcy you say Clinton spent us in — how come he ended up with a balanced budget, the only president to do so thus far?" -- Democrats don't understand economics at any level.. this one needs to be thanking Newt Gingrich for the balanced budgets during Clinton's reign. Yeah, like that will ever happen.
---
L-E headline: "U.S. SUPREME COURT * Justices wary of unlimited phone searches" -- Hmmm, sounds more like Justices Kagan and Sotomayor suddenly remembered some text message exchanges with Judas 00-Barnum before they got appointed.
---
L-E headline: "Notalone.gov   to assist campus rape victims" -- Whoa! After seeing the rollout of OObamaCRAP, what student would want to enter her/his info in another government database?

The Pope is a "big, no, the world's BIGGEST "twit"! Warning:This has no inference that God endorses my statement anymore than He endorses the Pope's "tweet" - Online story: "Pope Francis took a hard stance against inequality on Monday in a tweet sent from his official Twitter page: Inequality is the root of social evil. - Pope Francis (@Pontifex) April 28, 2014 * Could it be that the Pope is weighing in on the fervor sparked by French economist Thomas Piketty's current bestseller, Capital in the Twenty-First Century? * The Pontiff’s warning comes months after he called unfettered capitalism “a new tyranny” and urged global leaders to fight growing income inequality in his first major written work as pope. * He laid out the platform for his papacy in the 84-page document last November, attacking the “idolatry of money” and calling on politicians to guarantee all citizens “dignified work, education and healthcare.” -- This guy, lives in the seat of pomp and luxury, heads the world's wealthiest and best endowed institution, but casts aspersions on basically every God fearing Christian on Earth! The nerve of this guy.. yes "this guy"...( no more titular adoration or respect from my lips). He is endorsing politicians as the cure for political evil... Capitalism,.. individual free enterprise.. is not the root of evil.. the real root is those who want to accumulate other people's harvests of the efforts they've made, take more than their share and garner support by promising something, an inadequate something, for little or no effort.

---
Ironic note to above: The French author of what could be the 21st Century's rewrite of Marx's concept had his new book sell out on Amazon... AT GREAT PERSONAL PROFIT for the writer, the publisher and Amazon.. Ain't capitalism hell? Hmmm, wonder if the author is going to tithe to this pope?

---
HuffPost headline/story: "Amtrak Launches Pilot Program Allowing Dogs And Cats On Trains * WASHINGTON -- In a historic victory for the taxpaying pet owners of America, Amtrak announced on Monday that it would begin a pilot program allowing riders to bring their furry friends on board. * The program, launched in conjunction with the Illinois Department of Transportation, will begin next week and last for six months. For the price of $25, passengers traveling between Chicago and Quincy, Illinois, will be able to bring Fido or Princess along for the ride." -- Hmm.. somehow, you just had to know that Chicago politics were involved. With all the inner city street murders, and better computer documention/coordination with the election office, the Democrats need another source of importing extra voters in for future elections.

---
HuffPost headline: "Elgin Baylor's Lawyer: Donald Sterling Threw His Gum At Me" -- Today, CA Senators Feinstein & Boxer will introduce new tougher anti-gum legislation.

---
HuffPost headline: "Rutgers students protest Condoleezza Rice speech" -- Does this not sum up the decline of BOTH the education and Civil Rights movement? Where is the search for truth in the education system? Where is the protection of the rights of an accomplished black leader? Where is the protection of the exchange of ideas? Where is the impact of the 1st and 14th Amendments?

---
Rick Santorum... put a sweater in it! We've had a cardigan sweater lover in office..got the t-shirt.. we don't need a president who thinks a sweater vest defines leadership, either.

---
Isn't the furor of all races being offended by the rants of the Clipper's (_*_) owner wonderful? Everybody but mainstream media and Judas 00-Barnum get it that this is not really a racism problem, it's stupidity problem of an out of touch. Everybody id offended by his words, his thoughts and his stupidity. America should be celebrating that no one.. nada, zippo people defend anything but his right to rant as he has.

---
Online headline/story: "LERNER UNDER FIREContempt charge would be 'un-American,' lawyer says * Last May, Lerner refused to answer questions at a hearing about IRS agents singling out tea party applications for extra scrutiny. She again refused to answer questions in March, citing her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. * The Oversight Committee voted earlier this month to hold her in contempt. All Republicans voted in favor and all Democrats voted against" -- "all Democrats voted against"? Isn't the ill of this country staring you right in the face? Name one Democrat who voted against charging Lerner with contempt who will individually put in writing that he/she doesn't think..even feel, Lerner should be responsible and accountable to the people for her acts and knowledge.. ESPECIALLY since she outright VOWED that she was completely innocent. That said, what can she incriminate herself with?

---
Senator Kerry... Kerry just made Judas 00-Barnum transparent.. Apartheid.. how much longer can the Jewish population support the Democrat agenda?

---
WRBL3 headline: "Egypt sentences 683 to death in another mass trial" -- Oooops, thought we had found out where Judge Wapner newest gig was.

---
WRBL3 story: "OZARK, Ala. (AP) - Unionized civilian workers who provide maintenance and support for aircraft at Fort Rucker have voted to go on strike. * The Dothan Eagle reports about 2,900 workers were to begin striking Monday after union members Sunday rejected the latest contract offer by L3, the civilian contractor serving the Alabama Army post." -- Watch Judas 00-Barnum cave to the unions once again. You know.. here is probably the solution Judas 00-Barnum desperately needs to cure his legacy woes. It's a made-to-order (executive order?) Reagan moment.. FIRE 'em! Draw a "red line" and cross it! Wonder what the Las Vegas odds are that this will happen.

---
WRBL3 story: "ATLANTA (AP) - Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal says he's considering requiring applicants for unemployment benefits to undergo drug testing." -- Hmmm.. seems fair.. drug testing is required for state jobs, so why not for state assistance?

---
WRBL3 headline: "Michelle Obama announces jobs website for veterans" -- Good grief! OObamaCRAP hasn't even been fixed, and Kathleen Sebelius is out there. What are they thinking!

---
WTVM9 story: "COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -
The ninth homicide victim of 2014 died on April 28 in the Midtown Medical Center, says the Muscogee County Coroner." -- Hmmm April is not even over and we're already at 9 homicides.. at minimum we're on a death watch of possibly 27 for 2014, amd the summer months haven't even kicked in.. Yes, Mayor Obamalinson.. you're right on top of the crime problem.. but you can't bury it under "averages"!

---
Online headline: "Ohio is increasing the dosage of the lethal-injection drugs it uses in executions." -- Yes! Let's make sure they aren't able to vote again in the future!

---
Online story: "At least 4 percent of those sent to death row in US are innocent, researchers say" -- What liberal BS! I don't care what the subject polled, the margin of error will be a minimum of +/- 4%.. What this means is that the surveyors will not go out on the line and suggest 8% is a figure consider, but that realistically, "0%" is a lot closer to the truth.

---
From the "suspicions confirmed" department - Online story: "NEW YORK — Republican Rep. Michael Grimm was indicted Monday on federal charges of tax evasion and perjury for allegedly hiding more than $1 million in revenue from a New York City restaurant he owned where, prosecutors said, he also hired undocumented immigrants. * Grimm, a former FBI agent who has been under federal investigation regarding campaign contributions, said he is the victim of a "political witch hunt" and said he would not resign his seat." -- I've always contended that a New York Republican is not a Republican at all. A true Republican would resign when faced with such distractions that have merit. What this is, like the L(_*_) Clipper owner's situation, is another diversionary opportunity to misdirect much needed focus on Judas 00-Barnum's scandals.

---
L-E story: "TORRANCE, CALIF. — After more than a half-century in Southern California, Toyota announced Monday that it is moving its U.S. headquarters from Torrance to Texas. * Mayor Frank Scotto said he's "saddened" by the decision, adding that officials did everything they could to keep the Japanese car giant in the city." -- Hmmm, "officials did everything they could to keep the Japanese car giant in the city"? Well, the mayor, California as well, should have thought about all that before they did everything they could to run Toyota off.

---
HuffPost headline: "Harvard College Faces Probe For Alleged Mishandling Of Sexual Assault Cases" -- Oooops, my bad.. thought they were finally going to investigate Ted Kennedy.

---
Minimum wage....you know while there is a federal minimum wage law, no employer is required to use it as a ceiling wage for new hires. To whit, no employee is obligated to take a job at minimum if they feel they can do better. So why the flap.. it's just a Democratic Party campaign issue to divert attention from real weak Democratic Party positions. In fact, it's a Democratic Party tool that they don't want to pass.

---
Like I say occasionally... I find things by accident.. this time as running errands for our upcoming wedding. Remember when Mayor Obamalinson bought the Liberty Apartments down on 9th Street for $1.7 Million? She basically bailed out a real estate group from a huge loss. The apartments will never, even with government rent assistance, have rental income to justify $1.7 Million in tax dollars being expended. She covered the butts of a political entity she needs the support of to get re-elected.. well, at least hopes she has the support. Speaking of "hope", we sure could use some "change" with that.

---
There's a "secret"... an unmentionable " secret" going on in the MCSD board. A previous board decision to strictly enforce out of county , out of state fees for students, whether children of teachers or not, is not being strictly enforced. The new candidates running for the board should demand all these records be produced by the Superintendent.. now!

---
Speaker Boehner should have gotten a wake up call this weekend when Juan Williams came out supporting his mocking Republicans on immigration.

---
Tornados at any time of day are scary, but when you can only hear the impending doom roaring in the darkness, it's mind terrorizing. Survived one myself in the 60s at college.

---
Put this in your "must see" list...."God's Not Dead". Fictional composite story but really great message without being a 'message' movie'.

---
Good grief! Now medical ads are trying to sell us stuff for dog ailments. One, Trifexus, a cocktail combination for multiple dog concerns, yet one of the contraindications is that the side effects could cause depression. What's it covered under "Bo"-bamaCRAP?

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff: " Tell me, Gov. Deal: Will faculty be required to pack heat when you speak at Columbus State’s graduation? If professors have never owned or fired a handgun, will the state cover their training?" -- Nah.. it's purely a volunteer option.. one guaranteed, already, by our Constitution. And it's important for college professors to know since they have a penchant for snuffing out students and guest speakers rights guaranteed by the 2nd Amendment.

---
Another LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Humans: The only species that kills animals for pleasure and trophies" -- Good grief! How insensitive of this liberal.. describing Muslims and terrorists groups as human since they get pleasure at killing and beheading other people.

---
L-E headline: "OBAMA LAYS OUT HIS FOREIGN POLICY DOCTRINE" -- Hmmm, and Putin will simply draw a "red line" in front of it and Judas 00-Barnum won'r dare cross it.

---
L-E headline: "Mayors to captain dragon boat teams" -- Well, Mayor Obamalinson should be a shoe-in to win.. she's a real dragon.

---
I hear another state has introduced new legislation to declare high school "cheerleading" as a sport. The sponsor says it will make hiring a qualified coach and supporting common sense safety issues mandatory. HUH! The sponsor of this legislation needs to be certified as whether he/she is "qualified" or in possession of ANY "common sense".

Extra prayers for cities in Mississippi please. Heard the names of several towns and cities where my former MSU b-ball teammates were from.

Oh! Saw a "Bing!" mapping car parked in the driveway entrance of Dunkin Donuts on Veterans yesterday.. Guess it was stopping for directions.

Monday, April 28, 2014

The San Diego Clippers' players staged a silent protest before their game yesterday.. looks like they also staged a silent protest DURING the game as well. You know, a better protest would have been to walk in wearing "We're NOT with Stupid T-shirts", strip'em off at half court, and walk out. Same game results, better impact.
---
Online story: "President Barack Obama said Sunday that comments reportedly made by the owner of a U.S. pro basketball team are "incredibly offensive racist statements," -- Why is this man president? Here is an opportunity to either 'stir the pot' or 'move forward', and Judas 00-Barnum chooses to 'stir the pot faster'. Why did he focus on a statement's "racial aspect" rather than the fact it was simply a stupid.. a very stupid comment by a jealous idiot. You know, now we have to decide which man's statement will cause more "racial" unrest, rather than which man was wise, and which was stupid... right now, both categories are a "tie".
---
Online quote source: "“There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.”
- John Holmes " -- You know... how appropriate is this being circulated today.. this is something that needs to scratched into the Clipper's owner's and into Judas 00-Barnum's TelePrompTers. This should be everyone's first and driving thought of the day.
---
HuffPost headline/story: "Killer Pig Virus Wipes Out More Than 10 Percent Of Nation's Hogs * The killer stalking U.S. hog farms is known as PEDv, a malady that in less than a year has wiped out more than 10 percent of the nation's pig population and helped send retail pork prices to record highs. * Since June 2013 as many as 7 million pigs have died in the United States due to the virus," -- When I saw the headline, I just knew there was a political or terrorist joke in it, but after reading that the industry has capitalized on raising its prices, I am more disturbed at why there's not some moratorium about human consumption of infected pork.
---
Online quote source: "“There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.”
- John Holmes " -- You know... how appropriate is this being circulated today.. this is something that needs to scratched into the Clipper's owner's and into Judas 00-Barnum's TelePrompTers. This should be everyone's first and driving thought of the day.

What happened? Seems like a few weeks ago, Gallop Polls had Columbus at 7th.. now Columbus is:
8. Columbus, Ga. – Ala.
Work environment index score: 41.3
Pct. feel treated with respect: 90.0% (19th lowest)
Pct. learned something new that day: 62.5% (52nd lowest)
Pct. with college degree: 21.9% (123rd lowest)
Median household income: $42,972 (99th lowest)
Perhaps the potential of a change in political leadership is a welcome breath of fresh air.
---
One thing about the Gallop Poll that stands out is why Detroit, why New York and other major cities with huge inner city unemployment and gang problems are not in the Top 10.
---
Online story: "With only weeks left before she retires, View co-host Barbara Walters on Wednesday found time to fawn over another liberal Democrat. The veteran journalist repeatedly hyped Senator Elizabeth Warren as a possible president. As though she were the politician's publicist, Walters enthused, "A small town, Oklahoma girl grows up, handles the challenges of being a young, single mother, practically a teenager. She becomes a Harvard Law professor, a congressional advisor, and then the first female senator in the history of Massachusetts." * The host blurbed, "...Could her next move be the White House?" -- Why not, Warren's also already learned how to manipulate the truth as well as outrightly lie without flinching.. so if you compare her to Hillary.. she's just as ready.
---
And it just gets better (well according to how you define "better" ) - Online story: "While U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren sleeps in her $5 million mansion in Cambridge, and got paid $350,000 to teach just one class at Harvard, she had the audacity to say in an interview with Jon Stewart this week that “the system is rigged to benefit the rich.” -- $350K for 1 class... Hmmm, how many would you say are in a class at Harvard.. 5 or 6, 8-to-10, 30/35? Let's just take the number 35 as a talking point.. parents are basically paying $10K for their child to be instructed by a woman who has lied and manipulated herself into a teaching and political career. And she's not so good at it outside the borders of Massachusetts.
---
L-E headline: "Synovus CEO: More expense cutting ahead * Stelling says more branch closures are a possibility" -- You know... no matter what Judas 00-Barnum's spinmeisters, no matter what the mainstream media reports... Synovos is a real company, a real business that has climbed out of the rec ession/bailout hole, and still needs to reduce expenses.. Do not... DO NOT believe any Democrat candidate's claim things are so much better.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Great. Wackos and drunks can have loaded guns at bars and restaurants in Georgia. Guns allowed in our place of worship. So much for “public safety.” -- What's it about libs... criminals, wackos, and drunks have always carried loaded (as opposed to "I'll leave my bullets in the car and just carry my gun) weapons into places illegally. That isn't going to change because of this law, but now law abiding patrons can be able to defend themselves.
---
Nice reminder in the L-E today.. a refresher about our Civic Center manager.. What I though about is the policy of event tickets being provided free to Councilors and other City employees to events taxpayers have to pay for. Is there a website link to who's been getting those tickets, and whether or not a 1099 form is reported to the IRS?
---
L-E story: "Joan Rivers refuses to apologize for comparing living in her daughter’s guest room with the captivity of three women kidnapped in Cleveland. * Rivers and her daughter discussed their reality show Tuesday on NBC’s “Today” show and she complained about her living arrangements, saying, “Those women in the basement in Cleveland had more space.” Rivers tells The Plain Dealer in Cleveland that it was a joke she made as a comedian. She says the women are free and people should move on." -- I've never really been a fan of hers, but she's right.. basically "absolutely right"! Political correctness has strangled communications in this country... maybe this is a first step, though small trite one, towards the future.. sorta like Alan Armstrong's...

HuffPost headline: "Record number renouncing US citizenship * 2,999 people terminated their permanent residency this year -- some of whom call themselves 'accidental Americans." -- Hmmmm and I know one more, if not "accidental", outright fraudulent American to round it out to 3,000.
---
Did you know there's a prison in Louisiana serving 5,000 of the state's most violent criminals, most of who will never leave the walls again? Key tenets/activities for the inmates include religion and morality, sports and a renown rodeo. How come the ACLU, and PETA don't have main offices outside the gates?
HuffPost headline/story: "As Iraq violence grows, US sends more intelligence officers * A high-level Pentagon team is now in Iraq to assess possible assistance for Iraqi forces in their fight against radical jihadists from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), a group reconstituted from an earlier incarnation of al Qaeda * The meetings underscore how Iraq's instability is posing a new foreign policy challenge for President Barack Obama, who celebrated the withdrawal of U.S. troops more than two years ago. Despite the concern, officials said it remains unclear whether Obama will commit significant new resources to the conflict." -- You know.. Judas 00-Barnum drew a timeline in the sand to take our soldiers out by certain dates... and he crossed that... and al Qaida just waited him out.....now that line remains in the sand 00-Barnum doesn't know how to cross back over it. Pitiful. Tell me why any world terrorist should take newer "lines drawn" as a serious bluff by 00-Barnum?
---
Online headline: "Afghan Election To See Runoff" -- Oooops, my bad.. thought one of the contestants was giving the other a 2 minute headstart towards the border.
---
Online headline: "Biden takes advantage of his office to burnish foreign policy creds, ahead of possible 2016 run" -- Gimmee a break... Bleep Veep Biden needs a mental evaluation and his wife's shotguns confiscated) if he still thinks he could get nominated by the Democratic Party...even if Hillary opts out to bake cookies for her grand baby.
---
Online story: "Donald Sterling, the Los Angeles Clippers owner who was reportedly caught on tape making racist comments to his girlfriend, is set to receive a lifetime achievement award from the NAACP in May, according to the organization's website." -- Were the comments 'really racist' or simply a regrettable outburst in a jealous rage? In a way, it doesn't matter which, there were obviously relationalship issues coming to a head. The NAACP has to make a decision, now, as to whether to be angry or healing.
---
Online headline: "LeBron James: If Sterling Owned My Team I Might Sit Out the Playoffs" -- You know.. I agree with LeBron, only I KNOW I'd sit out, and I'm white.
---
Online story: "California's $68 billion bullet-train system, the nation's first, would take passengers from Los Angeles to San Francisco at speeds of more than 200 miles an hour. The project, though, has been beset by planning delays, fluctuating cost estimates and court challenges that have threatened to kill or delay it indefinitely." -- Hmmm, and Mayor Obamalinson predicts such a venture from here to Newnan and Atlanta will be done for $3.9 billion over 15/20 years. Let's do some math here.. Surveys for the California bullet-train have been going on years longer, and the current low-ball guesstimate is $68 Billion (but that figure is a couple of years old so have not been recalculated for current and future inflation). Let's see.. Los Angeles to San Francisco is about 380 miles. $68 Billion divided by 380 miles is a cost of about $180+/- per mile. Let's round of the Columbus-Atlanta route to, say, 100 miles. Using much more probable survey figures, that would make the Columbus/Atlanta route upwards of $18 BILLION rather than the $3.9 BILLION Mayor Obamalinson states. Hmmm, sorta like the rosy figures see spouted when she was trying to sell voters on approving TDAs here. Upon looking into the TDA projects see exampled in Atlanta, not a one was close to being a profitable project. When Mayor Obamalinson talks about her "pipe dreams" it really is important to check what she's smoking in her "pipe".

Online story: "Illinois Democrats are backing off a plan to give $100 million of state money toward landing President Obama’s presidential library and museum -- following accusations of voting “shenanigans” and nasty Chicago-style politics, not to mention the state’s dire financial situation * “A state that is nearly broke has no business spending $100 million on a potential Barack Obama presidential library,” says an editorial in the HeraldReview.com. “Throw in some parliamentary procedure shenanigans and the Obama presidential library is quickly becoming the typical Illinois government story -- spend money that isn't there and do it in a sneaky way.” * The editorial also points out the recent presidential libraries for Bill Clinton and the Bushes were built entirely with privately-raised funds * there is little argument about whether Illinois has serious money problems. * The state has roughly $7 billion in past due vendor bills and a $100 billion shortfall in its employee pension programs" -- What is it with Democrats and union pension plans? They fund it on the backs of taxpayers in the private sector, without having a clue as to whether the backs of the taxpayers can sustain the burden long enough for the pension plans to kick in. Union membership better remember this next time there "leadership" tells them being a member has such cool advantages.

No wonder OObamaCRAP's rollout was such a catastrophe! We just thought Kathleen Sebelius was dedicated to designing OObamaCRAP, but after trying to get to see our good friends newborn grandson at St Francis, it's obvious Sebelius was moonlighting as the designer of the expansion. Too boot, she must have also trained the "navigators". And if you think " Dueling Banjos" was a creepy song, I swear the elevator music was about the guy who got on Boston's MTA, and never returned . we finally gave up, found an exit door, and walked around the building and found the parking garage. BTW, their grandson is sure a handsome fellow.

Have you seen the 00-Barnum-Japanese Robot video clip pairing off in a soccer demo? 00-Barnum bowed to the robot.. Our President bowed to a bucket of nuts, bolts, and micro-chips. Of course, the robot was a better soccer player. Hmmm, wonder if the Japanese can design a golfing and basketball playing robot which enjoys "craft beer"... That would keep Judas 00-Barnum occupied until the end of his term.

Some liberal Fox "contributor" stated young people should be allowed to drop out of social security do they can save money for their own future. Show me a "young person" who is thinking past their current text message or Instagram. Now, if they put all the SS withholding into an individual trust funds that would be turned over to them at the proper time in their lives.. you might get their interest/

Online quote source: "Friedrich Nietzsche — 'Sometimes people don't want to hear the truth because theydon't want their illusions destroyed." -- Or in the case of Democrats, they don't want their delusions destroyed, either

Sometimes you see/find info you that is meaningless, other times, sometimes an inane piece of info sorta explains a lot. Did you know Kim Il Sung's birthday was/is April 15? We have a connection with the North Korean people. They have as much right to hate April 15th as the working citizens of America.

HuffPost headline: "Obama sends harsh warning to N. Korea" * Obama sends harsh warning to Putin" * Obama sends harsh warning to ASSad" * Obama sends harsh warning to Libya" -- Do you think a pattern is emerging? Do you think this could be the next ad series campaign for Verizon... "Is anybody listening?"
---
HuffPost headline: "Dolphins are smarter than previously thought" -- Well... smarter than the liberals studying them on a federal grant, and smarter than the American taxpayers who quietly foot the bill.

E-cigarettes...? What are they really about.. I can see them as a desperate crutch for people who at least recognize that they need to quit smoking, but what's the reason that some people start "smoking" with e-cigs?
---
My God.. how can Judas 00-Barnum... or more likely, Jay Carney, face any veteran, active soldier wounded in war, active soldier serving in a combat area, family member of a soldier, any press reporter, including mainstream media ones, and say "I care." after the story about what's been going on at one of VA hospitals?
---
Online quote source: "“These men ask for just the same thing, fairness, and fairness only. This, so far as in my power, they, and all others, shall have.” -Abraham Lincoln " -- Shouldn't this be emblazoned on every wall in every VA facility we have?

Online story: "Laborers’ International Union which represents a half-million construction workers is lambasting President Obama over the latest delay on the Keystone XL pipeline, six years after it was initially proposed, saying that the administration's announcement on Good Friday that it was putting off a decision, possibly until after the midterms, had politics written all over it." -- 'politics written all over it"? The Labor union better have that "stuff" it's "written with" analyzed... that's oil from the bus damage caused when Judas 00-Barnum threw them under it.
---
Online story: "Attorney General Eric Holder canceled a speech to a graduating class of police cadets in Oklahoma City on Thursday, after crowds of Oklahomans flocked to the ceremony to protest his appearance." -- How arrogant!.. A graduating class of police cadets being sloughed off because Pric Holder doesn't want to stand up in front of this body who have entered a job field laced with eminent dangers, and explain why he's not going to prosecute people arrested for laws the new police officers will be putting themselves in harm's way to protect everyday citizens.

I have a pertinent question about how the Mayor calculates the Public Service areas since the second LOST was approved. We were all told that 70% of this LOST would be supplemental support to our Public Safety needs, and fill in the Public Safety "wants". Does the current budget proposal give the Public Safety areas the same "weight", the same "percentage" of the main budget as Public Safety was receiving before the second LOST revenues started coming in? Let's review ALL of Mayor Obamalinson's budgets in this regard.
---
L-E story: "
A reader/responder of the L-E Online made a good point about excessive sales taxes effecting people's buying habits and capabilities, but LOST revenues combined only generate $60-$70 Million of the projected $263 Million of Mayor Obamalinson's "excessive spending plan" (it is not a "budget" when it's proposed with a planned revenue shortage). The MCSD SPLOST also currently takes another $30-$35 Million out of our pockets. Throw in Mayor Obamalinson's rampant spending patterns on projects that will never bring in a positive revenue flow, yet ongoing expense will rise, and you have a "perfect storm" for Columbus being the next Detroit.
---
WTVM9 headline: "Harris Co. teacher and son arrested on marijuana, firearm charges" -- Good grief! I imagine the teachers' union will demand she be put on "paid leave" or just be temporarily reassigned to another subject than she was originally assigned... hmmm, how about "Sex Ed" or Shooting Coach?
---
Minneapolis just eliminated "Columbus Day" as offensive to Native Americans to celebrate Columbus being credited with discovering America. It's going to be renamed "Indigenous People's Day". Hmmm, wonder if federal employees will lose it as a holiday.

A fellow BCer has passed along a 4-sentence summary.. well, no, explanation of the 2,700 page OObamaCRAP bill:
1. In order to insure the uninsured, we first have to un-insure the insured;
2. Next, we require the newly un-insured to be re-insured;
3. To re-insure the newly un-insured, they are required to pay extra charges to be re-insured;
4. The extra charges are required so that the original insured, who became un-insured, and then became re-insured, can pay enough extra so that the original un-insured can be insured, free of charge to them.
(This is called “redistribution of wealth” … or, by its more common name, SOCIALISM.) -- It really can't be expressed any more clear or succinct than this.

John Boehner ... Whatta joke.. cut from the same bolt as Trent Lott and Bob Dole, and just as childishly foolish in his leadership style. He should be uniting the party. We know Judas 00-Barnum "leads from behind", but Boehner all to often leads WITH his behind.

The number one book on Amazon is by a French Marxist economist suggesting an 80% tax rate on incomes above $500K... not to raise revenue for the government , but to penalize and eliminate the wealthy. Hmmm, makes him selling his book for a profit seem a bit, no, a lot hypocritical.

From the "huh?" department - Online story: "Cover Oregon on Friday became the first casualty of the state-run ObamaCare exchanges, as officials formally gave up the fight to offer residents a state health care portal. Instead, Oregon, which has been hemorrhaging millions of dollars on a barely functioning website that has failed to sign up a single person, is turning to the federal government for an out." -- Oregon "is turning to the federal government for an out"? Isn't the government WHY Oregon left? How do liberals determine who is electable among themselves?

Talk about prayers' being answered...a short while ago, I asked if anyone had knowledge of what kind of revenue has been generated by the super discriminating indoor tanning salon tax.. Well, Fox had the info available today..$114,000,000.00 SHORT or expectations. Unfortunately, Judas 00-Barnum is happy.. he's generated previously non-generated revenues (and even lower than wanted doesn't defuse the glee of getting millions of previously untapped revenues), and reduced the revenue and profit, and the likelihood of such businesses to stay 'ongoing'.
---
Online headline: "Watch as Jon Stewart COMPLETELY humiliates Nancy Pelosi – AWESOME!" -- Hey, you're gonna have to have something tougher to do than just this to get my attention. Pelosi humiliates herself daily.. Stewart should just let the Democratic elite just say what they wish and he can get paid for actually doing little or work... which is the Democratic goal.

Some woman from NC was hopping mad because 4 other people were wearing "bandit" version of her Boston Marathon bib. She foolishly posted an Instagram picture of it online, so she got what she deserves, and next year the Boston Marathon officials should ban her from participating, and all the security reviews should be scrapped and some sorta "bib" check should be incorporated before runners can line up.

Online story: " If it seemed as though some scenes of CNN's documentary series "Chicagoland" were coordinated by Mayor Rahm Emanuel's City Hall and the show's producers, that's because they were. More than 700 emails reviewed by the Tribune reveal that the production team worked hand in hand with the mayor's advisers to develop storylines, arrange specific camera shots and review news releases officially announcing the show." -- Hmmm.. sounds like the same way CNN handled Saddam Hussein so the staff could stay on Saddam's A-List of party invitees.
---
A fellow BCer sent me a Powerpoint show about "snow".. One of the quotes that jump out is "Life isn't fair, but it's still good". Think about it.. think about what that means to you, and how liberal elites miss the point. Their guilt over having a life drives them to pound what they perceive as "victims" of life to be angry at not having the life that liberal elites have. Wanting that for others in itself is not a bad thing, but to demand that the majority of Americans who don't have the life of an elite liberal, and are happy with being able to do things by and for themselves, pay for the liberal elites' guilt is just wrong.

Interesting question: In future custody case, especially in states where marijuana has been legalized ( minimally decriminalized), drug use of one parent had a pretty hefty impact in discussing a parent's rights to raise a child. Now that marijuana can be legal, are children of divorces, children of poverty going to be sacrificed because removing children from houses where marijuana is always present (but abuse of it cannot be shown/demonstrated) is no longer a valid reason to challenge 'custody' on?
---
Interesting thing you find by cruising: All 50 states treat animal abuse as a felony. Partial birth abortions are legal in all 50 states. What's with this picture ?? In a word..everything.

Good grief! There are Fox commentators still referring to a UCONN basketball star's claim of going to bed hungry as gospel. BS! If he ever has, it was because he read his schedule and thought "Gourmet Cooking" was a crip course he could skip and still get an "A".

LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Hearing that 46 percent of Columbus residents feel unsafe walking alone at night just makes me wonder why the remaining 54 percent are stupid." -- "stupid"? Nah.. just disappointed that the 46% they see as victims are smart enough to stay home.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Governor Deal refuses to expand Medicaid to the working poor. For three years the federal government pays 100 percent, and 90 percent after that. If you’re sick and die without insurance, your blood is on his hands." -- "working poor"? "federal government pays"? This has got to be a field worker from an entitlement office.. no compassionate person would ever belittle a person working to help themselves, and only a government employee would think, much less tell someone, that the government has money of its own to pay for things.

How messed up is this...The white supremist murderer in those Overland Park, Kansas shootings was in a federal witness protection plan for being an informant on other white supremist (_*_)s back in the 1980s. Aside from the fact that he never changed his life, wouldn't it be more just and save money just to inject a GPS homing device in him, superglue all his fingers together so he couldn't fire a gun,and set up a website map that follows his every movement, set him free, then send the info to every white supremist organization in America?

Alert! One of our BCers is in an undisclosed location preparing to cross a line Judas 00-Barnum has drawn in the sand but won't cross himself. 600 of our American patriots will be under foreign/UN command. 00-Barnum is a disgrace! Please pray.. hard and often.. he's "family" to me and a BC family member as well.

Wow... was reading about some liberals who claim Hitler was a conservative.. While I'm glad to see liberals understand the evils of the Hitlers of the world, Hitler was a socialist, a group labeler, an all consumed class divider, and separatist. I hate to tell libs... well, not exactly hate to do so, but those are qualities of the leftists, the Democratic Party, and Judas 00-Barnum.

HuffPost "headline vs reality": "Massive Iceberg Six Times The Size Of Manhattan Breaks Off Antarctic * It's one that's large enough that it warrants monitoring," Brunt said in a telephone interview, noting that U.S. government organizations including the National Ice Center keep an eye on dozens of icebergs at any given time." -- Good grief.. The headline writer must be Iceberg Gore.. offspring of Chicken Little and Algore. It is barely big enough to make the monitoring list.

HuffPost headline: "Caroline Kennedy let slip recently that she will support someone in the 2016 election that she once opposed." -- Good grief.. their liberals.. what do you expect.. sure. she and Uncle Ted supported Judas 00-Barnum in 2008's campaign, but that was because internal conflict between Senator Kennedy and the Clintons because the Clintons were making him less relevant. Ted's dead; let's not get crazy and believe Caroline Kennedy would support Biden or a Republican.

Online story: "Stacey Armato says agents gave her a hard time when she asked that her breast milk not be X-rayed at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in 2010. ABC says, "She pleaded for an alternate way to screen it." * Armato says while screeners were trying to figure out what to do, they put her in this glass room for nearly 40 minutes. * Armato says the experience was humiliating and made her feel like an animal in a cage. Before being confined, she showed a print-out of the TSA rules to a screener, and this is what happened: "He read them and it says breast milk is a medical liquid. It is to be alternately screened. And he just didn't want to accept it." * The TSA offered Armato a $75,000 settlement and promises to re-train screeners. Armato says the settlement will go toward attorney's fees and to a non-profit that provides support for breastfeeding moms." -- You know.. this happens all too often, and we see/hear all to often about security breaches at airports and building that just defy logic as to why security personnel and security policies are relevant. Just think of more recent events.. a teen, a Somalian teen at that, avoids security at LAX, climbs into a jet wheel house, and flies to Hawaii.. several people, including "base jumpers" have beaten security at the new World Tower at Ground Zero, and let's not forget the Boston Bomber Brothers flying in and from Boston without an eye blinking. What's the role of TSA... to make the Post Office look efficient?

Online headline/story: "HOW TO DRINK ALL NIGHT WITHOUT GETTING DRUNK * Co-founder and chairman of the Boston Beer Company, Jim Koch says, "wanna know my secret? How I can drink beer all night long and never get drunk? Yeast! Active yeast. Like you get at the grocery store. One teaspoon per beer, right before you start drinking" -- You know, I guess with enough yeast in you, you get to the point your bladder is constantly screaming at you to unload, so you really don'y have time to enjoy the beer inside you. Me, I just drink water or other alternative beverages, have a great time, stay out of bar/grill bathrooms, and wake up fresh in the morning.

Ever watch the Berry College "Eagle Cam" (http://www.georgiawildlife.com/BerryEagleCam)? I got one question after watching hoe well behaved the fledgling is.. it's momma and poppa can leave it alone in a nest in a tall tree, and the fledgling sits patiently and waits for them to return with food. Why didn't God give one of those genes to human toddlers? There's no way to tell a toddler to sit, don't get up, don't wander around, stay out of trouble and wait until I come back with a snack or meal.

Online headline: "Clinton calls Benghazi terror attack 'biggest regret' on her watch" -- Well, well, well.. after 18+ months, an apology..of sorts..I guess we can ask her the same question she did at the time... "What difference does it make?
---
Can you believe Hillary Clinton is complaining about the media not being factual in reporting . HUH? She has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of misfactual reporting. MSM treats her as a celebrity than a politician.. she's exempt from job related probes, but open to all social promotion the MSM wants to enwrap her. ABC just did more time on her becoming a grandmother than the rest of MSM has reported on Benghazi, and how many reports have you read that mention both one of the grandfathers is a convicted criminal, and the other was/is one of two presidents that have been impeached. This little grandchild may want to seek emancipation.
---
The saddest.. maybe the sickest thing about "the apology" is that mainstream media will praise her for admitting her screw up at answering a "3:00 AM" phone call, and say this makes her an even better presidential candidate because she's addressed her mistake. Little comfort, though, for 4 Americans and their families.

Why do school board candidates think/feel running on a "kids first " basis is what the taxpayers want or need! The school system has 6000+ employees responsible with the care and education of "the kids". We taxpayers NEED board members concerned with the school system using the tax dollars in their most effective manner. Don't vote for one who thinks spending tax dollars is his/her job. Saving, not wasting resources gets the money into the classroom.

L-E story: "Charlotte Bell, 10, handed Mrs. Obama her dad's resume during the White House's annual "Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day," Thursday, April 24, 2014, in the East Room of the White House in Washington. The girl in the front row at Thursday’s event told the first lady that her dad had been out of work for three years. Then the girl popped up to hand Mrs. Obama her dad’s resume saying “My dad’s been out of a job for three years and I wanted to give you his resume" -- First.. you know this was a "set-up", but there is an opportunity to counter.. next time, the Republicans should "plant" a 10 year old in the front row with a blank sheet titled "Judas 00-Barnum's Resume", and pop up, hand it to Michelle and say, 'This is your husband's resume, can you tell me why he has a job at all?

L-E headline/story: "Northwestern players to cast historic union vote * The vote comes one day after leaders at the NCAA endorsed a dramatic proposal to give its biggest and most powerful member schools the autonomy to make decisions for its athletes, including more robust funding of scholarships, the ability to address health concerns and other key areas. Union supporters say they are seeking guaranteed coverage of sports-related medical expenses for current and former players" -- The NCAA just kissed itself goodbye! The NCAA just gave major college programs the right to eliminate affordable ticket prices...and the Northwestern vote doesn't even matter.

L-E story: "It was seemingly out of the blue Thursday. But, in fact, Jesse Jackson’s appearance at the Synovus annual shareholders meeting is just one stop on the rounds he is making to corporate America." -- One question: Is he a shareholder in Synovus? If so, does he file it on his income taxes; if not, why was he let in the room. Let's face it.. Jesse Jack(_*_) has to be on the financial ropes since his son is in jail, and he doesn't have a job, and the white-guilt pleas to corporate America dried up being automatic annual disbursements, so now he's out panhandling.

Soapbox moment: Millions spent on the Frank Martin Bridge...millions spent on the Natatorium, millions spent on the Service Center and Parking Deck, millions spent on Whitewater, millions spent repairing the banks of the Chattahoochee, millions spent on second Ice Rink, wanting a $244,000.00 public outhouse, an undisclosed amount spent on dog parks in the least centrally locted part of Columbus, $2+ million for roundabouts (and the one at Green Island/River Rd/ Bradley Park will come in at over $2M itself if built like the GA DOT demands), undisclosed amounts spent on "flood control" , a Recycling Center with more space and capacity to ever be fully used, 350K for rail surveys, .. I'm getting tired of remembering all expenditures Mayor Obamalinson has paid out if the public coffers and none of them are going to produce positive cash flow to reduce public revenue flow in the future. None are successful ventures. It reminds me of what St Paul/Minneapolis did in the late 80s/early90s, and what Detroit has done..Public debt like Mayor Obamalinson envisions is just not sustainable.

USPS union workers are up in arms, and working hard at stopping Staples from being able to sell US Postal products. You know, if these Postal union workers put this much effort in dealing with consumers in a pleasant, efficient manner, the Post Office would be operating successfully.

WTVM9 story: " Atlanta's public school system has approved a record $658 million budget. * The spending plan covers 50,000 students, 6,600 employees and 100 schools." -- Forget the excessive amount per child compared to our MCSD budget.. look at the other numbers:
Students: Atlanta 50,000 MCSD 32,000
Employees: Atlanta 6600 MCSD 6000+
Schools Atlanta 100 MCSD 55 +/-
For 36% more students, Atlanta is doing it with only 10% more employees.
For 45% more schools, Atlanta is doing with only 10% more employees
Atlanta also has 16% less student per school unit staffed by an average of 66 employees while MCSD has 109 employees on average per each school, and our test results are below the state averages. What's going on. These figures are what need to be discussed by School Board members and candidates. Oh, and by the L-E as well!

Online story: "They might have just been 'budding' entrepreneurs, but two fourth-graders in Colorado have been busted for selling marijuana. * "The school says the students stole the marijuana from their grandparents. They say the school will be handling their punishment, not the police. One student did try an edible but did not get sick." (Via KWGN) * "The young man ate about half of it, so took a small bite." * And they might not be the best at business. It seems the young boy who sold the drugs to three other boys on the playground made just $11 from the sales" -- You know.. there have been two stories recently about Colorado adults who ate cookies/candies laced with marijuana and have killed another or themselves in macabre situations. Now grandparents, since its "legal", are no longer "hiding their stash" from their grandchildren. What hath Judas 00-Bama and Pric Holder unleashed!

Online story: "EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (Legal Newsline) – So far in the 2014 election cycle, U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis, R-Illinois, has out-raised his Democratic opponent, Ann Callis, by more than $1 million, in spite of the sizeable donations the former Madison County judge has received from asbestos law firms. * Callis stepped down from a 19-year career on the bench last year to make a bid for the 13th Congressional District: -- How ironic.. I just suggested that it's time to shut down the mesothelioma "trust" fund, because most asbestos problems have been solved. Now we have a bunch of lawyers supporting a former judge to make sure their gravy train keeps flowing. Follow the liberal money trail, and you'll find them hiding in the shadows of glut.

Another soapbox moment - Online story: "How does a $50 3D-printed hand match up to $42G prosthetic?" -- Did as good a job in most things, and even better in others." --
This reminded me of the time I broke my ulna (2004), and was prescribed an aluminum adjustable device instead of casts to save money. What the prosthetic fitter didn't know was I was a self pay client, and I would see the bill. He submitted my application by the insurance procedure number (called for 4 "casts" at $120.00 each, $480.00 combined), and I got a bill for $460.00. Looking at this "device", it looked just like a golf training device I'd seem advertised. I looked it up. I found it.. it retailed for $49.95... and was actually better made. Bought one and took it to my physician and asked him which he would recommend.. he jumped at the golf model. I asked him what it cost.. not being a golfer he missed 'low". Then I asked him to look at the device I was given by the prosthetics' department of this "world class local clinic", and asked him what he thought the price was.. naturally he gave a lower price than for the obviously better one. He was stunned when I told him I was billed for $460.00 (which on an insurance claim was a savings of $20.00 compared to getting 4 traditional casts). He had no clue as to what the prosthetic device department was pricing ANY devices. It took a few phone and they "sheepishly" lowered my bill to only 4X's the retail costs of the golf device (which I went and paid. I think what irritated this world renowned bone doctor the most was that his charges for operating on and fixing me up weren't much higher than the original price of the aluminum elbow cast!

You know.. early voting is a major reason we are getting such poor results in elected official. When people cast their votes 3 weeks ahead of time, they probably have voted before all the campaign stories have been revealed to show how incompetent the incumbent has been.

From the "can you believe this department?" - HuffPost headline/story: "US Warns: Russia Has Only 'Days' To Uphold Deal * Russia has not fulfilled its part of an international agreement to defuse tension in Ukraine and Washington will only wait "days" more for the accord to be implemented, a senior U.S. official said on Wednesday. * "Russia has not taken the steps that it needs to take" under the agreement reached in Geneva last week, Daniel Baer, the U.S. Ambassador to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), said." -- Hmmm, we have an Ambassador to something called "Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE)? Sounds like the name of a group that meets over tea & crumpets to discuss playground rules of what fair.

The oldest former Major League player has died at 102 years old... Connie Marrero. I don't remember him (he played for the Senators from 1950 to 1955) so any baseball cards I had of him probably served as "varoom" clothespin clipped as my bike's spokes churned, but there's a recount of an interview segment he gave talking about pitching against Ted Williams, my HERO. Marrero said, I recall "struggling against left-handed batters in general, and southpaw slugger Ted Williams in particular, a frustration shared by plenty of his contemporaries. * "One day Williams got two home runs off me, and afterward he came up to me and said, 'Sorry, it was my day today,'" Marrero told the AP in 2012. "I responded, 'Ted, every day is your day." Can you imagine Bonds or Pujols or any other of today's "franchise players" having the humility of Ted Williams? Marrero probably have been met with a flurry of in-your-face smack talk by any of today's "heroes". Don't worry Ted, none of these guys will ever replace you.

HuffPost headline (though it's more like a Post of a Huffy lib): "Gov. Signs 'Unprecedented' Gun Rights Bill" -- "Unprecedented Gun Rights Bill"? Good grief, it was just one man's approval of two groups of "elected-by-the-people" representatives' reinforcement of the 2nd Amendment of our US Constitution. Doesn't mainstream media read anything? Even Nancy Pelosi should read the Constitution.. our ancestors' already passed it!... and died to uphold it...

HuffPost headline: "Three American doctors killed in Afghan hospital * An Afghan security guard opened fire on a group of American doctors at a Kabul hospital, killing three and wounding a nurse." -- Hey Hillary, does it make a difference, or is this just one of those, "it's not my job anymore" circumstances?

Curiosity question: Why does our government just give away foreign aid? Why not just set up a bank-type system where countries that want our help apply for a loan or grant or gift, and sign for it, pledging something of value for our assistance?

Soapbox moment - Latest discovery in OObamaCRAP: "While the debate continues over how many ObamaCare enrollees are actually paying their premiums, one aspect of the law temporarily rewards those who actually stop paying – and doctors may wind up bearing the cost. * “This law provides a 90-day grace period for people who have subsidized ObamaCare exchange plans and stopped paying their premium," said Betsy McCaughey, health care author and former New York lieutenant governor. *But the insurance companies are only obligated to cover the first 30 days of the 90-day grace period *"You're still entitled to care for another 60 days," said John Goodman of the National Center for Policy Analysis. "The insurance company doesn't pay, you don't pay, who pays? Well, the doctors and the hospitals have to eat it. That's a very strange feature of this new health reform." -- Wow! What this basically means is additional taxpayer costs for low income or unemployed insurance holders. Example: Insurer buys best level of insurance with tax credits for the next filing tear. Insured pays one premium. He's covered for 30 days. Next month, he doesn't pay his premium, and he's covered for 30 days plus guaranteed care for an additional 60 days which Doctors and hospitals will write off at "rack rates" on their next tax filing. OK, 4 months have now been covered for 1 premium and the insured then reapplies for insurance elsewhere (with guaranteed acceptance of existing condition" and makes a payment. He's covered again for 30 days, The next month he doesn't pay. He gets another 30 days coverage plus the 60 days coverage which Doctors and hospitals write of at "rack rates' . Now 8 months have past.. he repeats the process sequence, so after 1 year, he's made 3 payments, got 12 months of medical care. Then he files his tax return and gets a medical tax credit refund which IRS is not going to question. Then doctors and hospitals file for price adjustments for the 6 0f 12 months they had to 'eat' their losses, and OObamaCRAP realizes it too got shafted for 3 months of non-payments that it covered, and rates go up again for all the responsible people who try to do the right thing. You know, the POST OFFICE is probably cheering right now because OObamaCRAP is going to make the USPS look efficient, President Carter is cheering just a happily, too, for the same reasons.

Online quote source: "“To maintain a joyful family requires much from both the parents and the children. Each member of the family has to become, in a special way, the servant of the others.”- Pope John Paul II" -- You would think this would be an inspirational saying hanging on the walls of every government welfare office in America, but I'll bet it's not on the wall of any of them.
---
WOW! I just experienced an event I've never experienced before.. a pleasant cable company result. The guy got here on time, checked out my problem, showed me how I can check it myself if anything changes from the results I should be getting (as to power signal strength), was impressively succinct, pleasant and respective. I actually feel good about my cable company.. and that's something I didn't think was possible. They still charge too much, but other than that I am happy. It's WOW, formerly known as "Knology".

There was a Democratic Party debate for the US Senate candidates in Columbus a couple of nights ago. Michelle Nunn opted out, primarily as she is the front runner , and figured she had nothing to gain butting heads with the other also-rans. Well, Hmmm, Michele didn't want 'none of Columbus", so the turnabout's fair thing to say is that Columbus don't want "Nunn" of Michele.

L-E editorial comment: "Maybe after the election, Columbus Council will take a courageous stand for truth, justice, the American Way and whether or not to install a public restroom under the Frank Martin Memorial Bridge on the Chattahoochee Riverwalk. Until then …* As most already know, the issue is a facility costing about $244,000, a price that apparently gives pause to some in the Columbus Consolidated Government's legislative branch. Except that 80 percent of that tab is to be picked up by the state Department of Transportation" -- Hey, that "free money" you refer to as a "grant" is our tax dollars, too, and a lot taken out ain't coming back. Truth is we are paying all of it. Hey another better idea.. just open up the extra bathrooms at the L-E building. It's close enough to the Frank Martin Bridge, and certainly the public 'deposits' wouldn't even be notice amongst the other crap the L-E flushes into the Chattahoochee.
---
When you think about the GA DOT designing a public bathroom for $250,000.00, you have to wonder how much overbilling goes into the design of our highways and bridges? Hey, groups like this usually have one formula it operates on when setting projected costs.
---
Another good idea expressed by a fellow BCer: Let the Whitewater concessionaire pay for it.
---
L-E story: "A suspect fleeing from Columbus police was nabbed Tuesday afternoon by Phenix City police after he swam across the Chattahoochee River near Oglethorpe Bridge, police said." -- Hmmm, I hope the police charged him for not wearing Personal Flotation Device (PFD). At least that charge will stick, and produce a fine.
---
The ultimate voting guide... even for the low-info-voter: "Voting guide. Do you want bigger or better government ? Then you should look at the candidates asking for your support and ask them why they are wanting to be elected.. to spend your money or to save you money. It's that simple.
---
What's wrong with this picture.? I'm talking about the IRS giving bonuses to employees who haven't paid their back taxes. Lottery winners get their payments dunned by IRS and state welfare fraud centers, so you think IRS would at least send out notices to its own payroll department to garnishee its own employees... especially on bonus payments!
---
Don't those mesothelioma ads bug you? Law group after law group blast ad-after-ad about a $30 billion dollar "trust fund" waiting to be tapped. I'd think most asbestos sources and uses have about been reversed, and that "trust fund" has about served its purpose other than being a lifetime source of welfare for the administrators? Why not end and dissolve that trust fund and return unclaimed monies back to the companies that paid into it? At a minimum, we wouldn't have to listen to those ads anymore, plus our world would be safer having so many lawyers having so much free time on their hands to chase this " ambulance".

Hmmm, Colorado and Washington State voters have opened the Pandora's Box. Well, boxes of cookies and candies laced with marijuana. Kids will have no clue about what will happen when their parents catch them with their hands in the wrong 'cookie/candy jar'.

GM's troubles just will not end.. Now an Impala, equipped with the automatic braking system, engaged itself when no apparent collision object was present. The car and driver got rear- ended. Maybe if GM gets a dose of being rear-ended......

Filipinos are protesting Judas 00-Barnum's upcoming trip there. Why are they butting heads with the police? All they need to do is draw a line at the end of every runway, and Air Force 1 won't cross it.

Online headline: "Material on Australian shore examined in jet hunt" -- Good grief... is MSM so desperate for news fillers that it runs with a story that has no indication of being valid. Latter comments from Australian spokesperson say the more they look at it, the less interested they are coming. Truth is, if it doesn't obviously look like a jet part, it probably isn't and doesn't need to take up resources of financial or emotional worth.

Online story: Allen West, a former congressman and retired Army lieutenant colonel, agrees with conservative pundits who believe the Republican Party is way too divided as it prepares for a tough battle against the Democrats in the 2014 midterms. * "We need resolute leadership on our side to bring all the different factions together -- bringing the Libertarians, bringing the conservatives, bringing the more moderate Republicans, mainstream Republicans, the establishment -- because we have to unify," he insists" -- West gets it! Wonder if he's a closet Breakfast Club blog reader...

Judas 00-Barnum and Pric Holder are hot and heavy to release drug offenders from jail using presidential "clemency". Has either of them or anyone in the mainstream media considered the message this sends to the drug dealers? It'll be just another "line in the sand" that drug dealers won't have to worry about the DOJ crossing over....
---
Online story: "An Augusta Republican running for Congress cites the Bible in his first campaign commercial as he accuses President Barack Obama of “immoral” spending." -- Good grief! Why can't the Republicans simply agree that there is no benefit to the Republican Party, this country or uncommitted voters to wage war on moral issues? The only thing it does is give libs and mainstream media "fodder" to feed on while keeping real issues from being discussed openly. It's one thing to state your positions on things in moral decline, but it's another to tell others they have to answer to you rather than God.
---
L-E headline: "RUSSELL COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE * DEPUTY CHARGED WITH TRAFFICKING *
Officials believe Williams was helping drug dealer; find 1.5 pounds of drugs at his home" -- Good grief.. word travels fast when Judas 00-Barnum and Pric Holder initiate "clemency" for drug dealers.
---
The L-E posted it's Q&A's with the two candidates for at-large Council Post 9 - Judy, Judy, Judy... your billboard proclamation of "Putting People First" should be your answers, and digging deeper into their pockets is not the way. I see one effort financed by the Crime Prevention Committee that's worthy and needed... the Jail Ministry. The rest are just placations. As for twice a week trash pick ups, the Mayor has already told us that the maximum savings would be around $250K.. that beaks down to less than $6.00 annually that households would save, and that is not worth having overloaded trash cans littering our air with odors. I love ya, but don't mess with or tiptoe around the tax freeze.. I already pay more than my share, but rather have the freeze than get dumped on more by an activist tax assessor's evaluation for a place I don't intended to sell until after I've departed this Earth.

L-E story: "WASHINGTON — The number of Americans buying new homes plummeted in March to the slowest pace in eight months, a sign that real estate’s spring buying season is off to a weak start. * The Commerce Department said Wednesday that sales of new homes declined 14.5 percent last month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 384,000" -- You know.. this is after the coldest January/early Feb weather in at least modern history, and you'd think that there would have been a build up of interest spurred by those storms.

HuffPost headline: "Bombshell Finding Reveals Deadly Texas Fertilizer Blast Was Preventable" -- Hmmm, so was the Boston Marathon Bombing, Benghazi, and the re-election of Judas 00-Barnum, but they happened anyway, and the HuffPost just proselytized it was "Bush's Fault".
---
HuffPost story: "In response to a string of recent break-ins, the Traditionalist American Knights of the Ku Klux Klan has given a local Pennsylvania chapter the go-ahead to form a neighborhood watch group. * It’s just like any neighborhood watch program. It’s not targeting any specific ethnicity. We would report anything we see to law enforcement" -- Sorta like the Black Panthers...... except with white hoodies rather than black. Please note this is in PENNSYLVANIA, not the South, and I personally feel both groups are anachronistic, unnecessary, are national embarrassments, and have are non-Republican in origin.. yep, DEMOCRATS.
---
You hear this often in an apology: "I'm sorry if I offended anyone". Whatta copout. It says one is not revoking the statement, which is still offensive to those that one thinks shouldn't have been offended.
---
HuffPost story: "U.S. Vice President Joe Biden told Ukrainian presidential candidates and members of parliament on Tuesday that Washington was ready to help Ukraine's economy but warned them they must fight the "cancer" of endemic corruption." -- Boy, that must have sent shivers up their spines. They've seen what Obama-bin-Biden have done for the American economy, and how Obama-bin-Biden have fought the American taxpayer and Republicans who are fighting the administration's "cancer of OObamaCRAP corruption". On the other hand, the Ukrainians know Obama-bin-Biden won't cross any "red lines".

Ask yourself.. why does Columbus' Mayor Obamalinson submit a new budget with a $4,000,000.00 deficit just before election time? Realities are that $4,000,000.00 is way less than 2% of the budget, so that can't be it, so.... we are left with the obvious answer that she has $4,000,000.00 of campaign promise projects thrown in.
---
L-E story: "BRUSSELS — Official figures show that governments across the 28-country European Union recorded lower budget deficits in 2013 amid lower spending and an economic recovery that shored up revenues." -- Hmmm so when governments collect and spend less, the economy works... how come Judas 00-Barnum hasn't tried that?
---
Interesting headline: "Is Diversity Just Another Name for Discrimination?" -- In a word...possibly. If an otherwise qualified applicant for inclusion into a group, a workplace, or social setting is denied access because of any thing but being less qualified, or fast tracked regardless of qualifications FOR inclusion, YES.
---
Online story: "Georgia governor to sign 'unprecedented' bill expanding gun rights" -- I guess, unlike the mainstream media, Gov Deal has read the 2nd Amendment of out US Constitution, and is simply voicing his approval.
---
Online headline: "NEW IRS CONTROVERSY? Report: Staff with conduct, tax issues still got awards" -- And mainstream media is shocked? Has the MSM simply forgotten Judas 00-Barnum appointee,Timothy Geithner, was atax cheat?
---
Online quote source: "“The highest form of ignorance is when you reject something you don't know anything about.” - Wayne Dyer" -- Hmmmmm.. sorta explains why normal people have such a hard time understanding why liberals support things/people without being able to give a reason why they do. Example: "Name one humane or valid accomplishment Hillary made as Secretary of State that makes her desirable as their president .. same or as Senator.. or as First Lady of the US or Arkansas... hey.. it ain't easy... now double the number to two humane or valid accomplishments and watch a meltdown. Don't get me started on Judas 00-Barnum.
-----------------------
You know... in the mayoral debate Monday night, Mayor Obamalinson mentioned "her" idea of "Creative Village" built along the banks of the Chattahoochee between Total Systems campus and Bibb City. Of course that would mean she no longer wants the public housing "village" to be the located on prime property, but it also means that all the atrocious GA Power Towers running along the bank would have to be relocated and esthetically improved. Those towers are the worst eyesore along the RiverWalk as it is.
---
Why does Boehner keep sending bills to the Senate to repeal OObamaCRAP? All he really has to do is appeal the law to the Supreme Court to review the ruling based on protocol that all tax bill must originate in the House, and OObamaCRAP was a Senate bill that House Speaker Peliso took straight to vote without even let it be read, reviewed or discussed.
---
From the "I'm curious" department: Albany, GA newspaper headline: "Childs and Duke compete to challenge Bishop * Bishop runs unopposed in Democratic primary while Childs and Duke campaign for the Republican nomination" -- I'm curious to know if anyone has seen this mention in the Columbus news?
---
L-E headline: "Mayor's budget includes parks and rec fee increases" -- Yep... but only 'selective" areas. There's no bicycling use fees for the Rails-to-trails program, the Natatorium will drown in debt, buses will run empty, Whitewater fees will dwindle compared to upkeep, but $4,000,000.00 in unfunded campaign promised budget requests will remain in.
---
You know, in a recent interview, Mayor Obamalinson basically suggested it's easier for an opponent to snipe at a record of an incumbent because the opponent does not have one to compare. What the opponent does have is an opportunity to unseat an incumbent who made promises the records show she didn't keep.
---
L-E story: "After six weeks of discussion, Columbus Council once again failed to approve paying part of the tab for a $244,000 public restroom beneath the Frank Martin Memorial Bridge on the RiverWalk." -- Once again, Council can't decide whether it wants to GIVE a s***, or just DOESN'T GIVE a s***. Perhaps a Royal/Mayoral Flushing is in order

You know, if atheist don't believe in God why should they care, feel threatened, about the words "one nation under God" when the Pledge of Allegiance is spoken. In their minds, they have nothing to lose by saying them or not saying them.

Arizona needs to... NO, must send John McCain out to pasture.... mainstream media just keeps a camera on him to keep from having report on relevant issues.

Remember Hank Johnson" GA's District 4 Congressman who thinks Guam will tip over if we move more military equipment to its shores.. Well Hank Johnson is a member of the Congressional Safe Climate Caucus...38 members of the House who have made a commitment to end the conspiracy of silence in Congress about the dangers of climate change. Well ,these should be the targets for the Republican Party to get rid of..38 people who have self-identified themselves as wackos.
---
A new report released by the Columbus Consolidated Government shows that overall crime in the city has decreased 24 percent from the first quarter of 2014 compared to the fourth quarter of 2013." -- Hmmm, wonder if anyone noticed that we transitioned from the most frenzied/pressured quarter, the Holiday Season, to the coldest quarter when it is even too cold for criminals to want to be out "working"? Wonder, too, if Mayor Obamalinson may be cooking the crime books just before election time?
---
Speaking of "crime", a spokesperson for Public Safety last week reported that they solved 200+ crimes with the arrest of one person. No evidence/stolen property was recovered, no witness were recognized, nor was there any questioning of the timing or the facts mentioned. How convenient if you're the Director of Public Safety and running for re-election.
---
WTVM9 story: "General Motors Co. and a battalion of trial lawyers are preparing for an epic court fight over whether GM is liable for the sins of its corporate past." -- You better believe it! Judas 00-Barnum bailed out the unions, and stuck American taxpayers with a loss of $10,000,000,000.00, yes $10 BILLION dollars., Then, with full knowledge of the safety issues, the "new" GM went about their business making no effort to amend it's policies.
---
Online headline/story: "Democratic National Committee asks Chicago to apply for 2016 convention * Chicago did not submit a bid for the Republican National Convention. " -- Hmmm I guess the theme song for the convention will be the Sam Cooke Classic, "Bring it on home.. to me". Guess Sam wants to be able to vote.
---
And we thought we should be concerned about Kathleen Sebelius being able to get another job...I think WOW/Knology brought her on board to help rollout the new digital cable boxes yesterday.

Online story: ":The Supreme Court has upheld Michigan's affirmative action ban, ruling that the state has the right to determine whether racial preferences can be considered in college admissions. " -- Hmmm.. shouldn't this be a precedence in states determining Photo ID's for voters, banning partial birth abortions, enforcing immigration laws, and Judas 00-Barnum overriding laws of the land?
---
Online story: "Md. gov candidate suggests Iraq War vet opponent not up for 'real job * Maryland Attorney General Douglas Gansler drew ire from a veterans’ group after he made the comments about his opponent for the Democratic nomination, Maryland Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown" -- Democrats... that's what Democrats are about.. feeling no one is able to take care of others but themselves.
---
Bleep Veep Biden is in Kiev and says it's time for Putin to stop talking and start acting. If there's anything that needs to be done, it's for Judas 00-Barnum to stop whining like a baby, and start telling the truth.

Have you thought about why government agencies, like the BLM, or DOE and others have their own SWAT teams? Combined with the Department of Homeland Security, there may be more soldiers in government agencies than in the military... or least will be after the next few rounds of cuts.
---
Online quote source: " Confucius said: “When it is obvious that the goals cannot be reached, don't adjust the goals, adjust the action steps.” -- Obviously this is not the creed of the Democratic Party, the S.A.T. tests, the Department of Education, or the Muscogee County School District
---
You know... reading about the MCSD candiates for District 8, Harris and Myers, scares me a bit. Harris doesn't understand her role as a protector of taxpayer concerns, and Myers more than understands how to talk politics. He's even found a way to act indignant and upset over his on political ideas and recommendations for the last SPOST, yet the SPLOST revenue expectations were clearly not going to be obtainable to begin with. Wow.. what a "can't win" situation for the taxpayers.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "ONCE AND FOR ALL: IT’S NOT ENVY * Americans aren’t envious of the one percent for their riches. They’re angry at the one percent for rigging the system and getting rich at America’s expense." ---Once again we here from a Democrat voter who buys in to the Democratic mantra that he/she/it's a "victim", and only by Democrat entitlement programs can you survive. What's sad is these LIV's believe it every time they hear it. Additionally, the Democrats who cater to LIVs discontent are mostly in the 1%, but feel they are more equal than their followers.
---
L-E's "Today in History" feature: " In 1969, Sirhan Sirhan was sentenced to death for assassinating New York Sen. Robert F. Kennedy. (The sentence was later reduced to life imprisonment.)" -- Hmm.. now can you name me one person, INCLUDING Sirhan Sirhan, who has benefited from him still being alive today?

Online story: "A defendant died after being shot by a U.S. marshal on Monday during an attack on a witness during a trial in a new federal courthouse in Salt Lake City, the FBI said. * Si(_*_)le (_*_)ngilau, 25, died at a hospital after he was shot in the chest as he rushed the witness with a pen in an "aggressive, threatening manner," the FBI said in a news release. * The witness, who was not injured, appeared to be in his mid-20s and was testifying about gang initiation, Caldwell said * A mistrial was declared after the shooting. In her order" -- "mistrial was declared"? Jury go home! CASE CLOSED! Taxpayers served well. When's the promotion ceremony for the US Marshal
---
Online story: "OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A sharply divided Oklahoma Supreme Court on Monday stayed the executions of two death row inmates who have challenged the secrecy surrounding the source of the state's lethal injection drugs." -- Good grief.. I thought there had been recent court rulings that this didn't matter. Give the (_*_)s a choice.. the "mystery shot of the day" or a couple of shots of 30.06 ammo. and move on.
---
Online headline: "Kentucky Inmate Starved To Death" -- Hmmm, why not move those Oklahoma death row inmates to Kentucky while the courts are wasting taxpayer dollars.
---
HuffPost headline: "US: Russia Has 'Days, Not Weeks' To Comply With Ukraine Accord" -- Yeah right..I just hope this "rollout" hasn't been planned by the OObamaCRAP crew.

HuffPost story: "If you're a millennial on your way to inheriting billions, chances are you were invited to the White House last month. * Jamie Johnson, an heir to the Johnson & Johnson pharmaceutical company fortune, wrote a piece for the New York Times dissecting his experiences as an attendee at a summit hosted by Obama administration officials -- which was closed to the media. Along with a handful of other wealthy youngsters with famous last names -- such as Rockefeller and Marriott -- Johnson took part in discussions on how the next generation of big name philanthropists can do their part on issues like climate change, human trafficking and healthcare for young people in the 21st century. * According to Johnson, the event focused on the somewhat new concept of impact investing -- when businesses seek to deliver measurable positive social or environmental benefits with each dollar invested -- as opposed to more conventional models of corporate philanthropy. With an expected $30 trillion in wealth being passed from baby boomers to younger generations throughout the next 25 years, impact investing could ensure philanthropic-minded systems of business for decades to come." -- Good grief.. Advice from a roomful of trust fund babies who haven't ever worried about consequences or responsibilities in their entire lives.. are being plied with Kool-aid, and asked to get out their check books to their parents' money give it away to a Community Organizer. I hope some new wills will be written this week by their parents.
---
Online story: "The Justice Department will announce this week new criteria for recommending that President Barack Obama grant clemency to federal drug offenders, a move that Attorney General Eric Holder anticipates will result in "thousands" of applications for reduced sentences." -- Isn't it the job of the President to support the Constitution, and the Attorney General's job to enforce, not abort, federal laws? Just because Judas 00-Barnum and Pric Holder don't agree with a law on the books, the law needs to be either changed through Congress or vigorously enforced. There are no other options granted by the Constitution.
---
L-E story: "The federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau on Monday released a report about the problem of “automatic defaults” on private student loans. * CFPB Student Loan Ombudsman Rohit Chopra said that the agency has heard from borrowers in good standing who suddenly have their loans placed in automatic default when the parent or grandparent who co-signed the loans dies or files for bankruptcy." -- "borrowers in good standing"? In good standing because someone else signed responsibility for the loan, and are no longer in the picture? What's happened is that loaners no longer think the $30K-$40K degree students got in sociology will get a job paying enough to pay off the loan by themselves.
---
You know..we already have a "Michelle" in Washington . We don't need a second one.. In fact, the truth is we don't need "Nunn".
---
The Mayor debate on WRBL-TV last night reminded me of the first Obama-Romney debate.. Martin ate Mayor Obamalinson's supper and dessert.
---
Mayor Obamalinson's said she wanted to create a "Creative Village" between the Total System campus and Bibb City. Sounds like she wants to eliminate the project homes between 2nd Ave and the Chattahoochee.
---
So Mayor Obamalinson's wants to create a "Rails-to-Trails" bicycle path through South Columbus. Hmmm, I want to see her riding it by herself without a police entourage. Maybe she'll connect it to the dog walk so the dogs can get exercise running after her. I know.. build the $250K bathroom there so even the dog owners will get exercise trying to make it across the dog playground to relieve themselves!
---
Planning ahead is important. in fact, it's very important, but to try to price costs of a pie-in-the-sky rail system 16 years out and predict a profitable operation is folly. I kind of doubt any train will ever hit 200 MPH , particularly when stops along the way will eliminate a long enough stretch with which to accelerate and decelerate smoothly enough to justify such a venture.
---
Why is Mayor Obamalinson's so excited about "grants"? " Grants" are earmarks of taxpayer dollars used to manipulate political power, and don't we all want to eliminate abuse in government spending.
---
Very LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Every time a corporation like Caterpillar avoids their $2.4 billion in taxes, the middle-class taxpayer ends up paying instead. Rand Paul and Republicans are cheering this behavior." -- Good grief.. every time a corporate dollar is given to the federal government in taxes, jobs are lost, local money is sent away, and local businesses lose the opportunity to circulate those dollars into the local economy.
---
L-E headline/story: "As Army shrinks, young officers being pushed out * During the peak war years, the Army grew to about 570,000, as commanders worked to fill combat brigades and support units to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan. Thousands of newly minted officers came in during 2006-2008. * Already down to about 522,000, the Army must shrink to 490,000 by October 2015, and then to 450,000 two years later." -mmm, and it won't be long before the Dpartment of Homeland Security will have more MRAPs and soldiers than the military.
L-E headline: " In the next two months, the city hopes to cut the ribbon on a “Resting Garden” currently under construction on the site of the first cemetery for black people in Columbus, City Manager Isaiah Hugley said." -- You know.. this is grasping at straws.. the City footed (as I recall) about a $50,000.00 scanning team looking for any traces that there might have been anyone.. anyone at all.. who was laid to rest on this site, and the scanner team came back with nary a trace of collaborative of evidence. This is just wasted tax dollars.
---
When you hear Mayor Obamalinson's talk about our homeless problem and the need for a 10 year multimillion dollar program, it sounds excessive for the numbers Colin Martin mentioned were chronic homeless.
---
Where are all the proponents of Columbus being a "No Kill" area? One of the requirements for speaking up or out about it should be that such people must adopt one of them.
---
It was quite evident Mayor Obamalinson was reeling in liberal la-la land and Colin Martin controlled the flow, and if he has enough campaign funds, to get his message across.
---
It's amazing what you pick up by accident when you get one of Mayor Obamalinson's friends and neighbors riled up in defending her. This morning, following discussions about how much quicker 911 response calls were in the Mayor's MidTown area versus other areas of town, it was discovered that her neighborhood is paying off duty sheriff deputies to cruise their area. Nice if you afford it, but what I find intolerable is that when they patrol in their take home vehicles , everybody else is paying for the gas, upkeep and the accelerated depreciation of those vehicles the taxpayers furnish. Hmmm, Maybe the Mayor will order gates be installed on all entrances/exits in Overlook.
---
I think it's time to give Jay Carney a new title...something like White House Guess Secretary since we are constantly having to guess which side of the truth he will be on.

Hank Aaron didn't have a lot going on for him as a team player. While in Atlanta, the Braves were a .500 team in their first few years in Atlanta; 85–77 in 1966, 77–85 in 1967, and 81–81 in 1968. The 1967 season was the Braves' first losing season since 1952, their last year in Boston. In 1969, with the onset of divisional play, the Braves won the first-ever National League West Division title, before being swept by the "Miracle Mets" in the National League Championship Series. They would not be a factor during the next decade, posting only two winning seasons between 1970 and 1981. Aaron was there until 1976. You know, his race baiting remarks since he's retired are probably why he wasn't much of a team player, and why the Braves team records were lackluster despite his individual offensive records. I think I've eaten my last Krispy Kreme donut.

Palcohol... Would you believe someone has packed alcohol in packets you can sprinkle into yours or someone else's water/soft drink/ or food, or even into "lines" for snorting?...and it's legal? Wonder how long it will be before Colorado has it in recreational marijuana shops..imagine lacing you own or dates happy joint?
---
Instant update: Ooops, Palcohol's approval for it's labels have been revoked.. at least temporarily.. the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms has an issue with the wight of the powder in the packets being correct. Personally, I have an issue with the product being approved at all.

The UAW announced that it's withdrawing its lawsuit about the "tainted" VW election earlier this year. Hmmm, yeah ,I guess the UAW would be interested in distancing itself from the taint it brought to itself during its attempt to undermine free democratically run elections.

Clemson is under attack that its football team has too much Christianity in its mix. If I had teenage son of quality abilities, I'd pray that Clemson would recruit him heavily....and I don't even pull for Clemson because they are ugly uniforms.

Hmmm. How about those gas prices! Local Regular gas is going between $3.50 to $3.70. Meanwhile, my brother spent the last 10 days in South Carolina where gas prices are about .35¢ a gallon less.

Listening to TV analysts talking about the depth and costs of security at the Boston Marathon is overwhelming. If the FBI or CIA had simply followed the security memos that Russia sent last tear, hardly any of the measures would have to be considered, much less implemented, for this or next year's running.

L-E headline/story: "MUSCOGEE SLIPS; HARRIS, CHATTCO, STATE IMPROVE 8 On the 100-point scale, Muscogee County’s score fell to 66.5 * High schools (average: 72.0)
• Columbus High (95.7)
• Early College (85.3)
• Northside High (78.6)
• Jordan High (73.5)
• Hardaway High (72.9)
It's absolutely that the L-E did not post the scores of Carver High. Carver has had more money poured into it in the last 20 years, over $60,000,000,00 in overhauls and a complete rebuild, has benefited from the most intense high-tech/laptop programs, and neither the L-E nor the MCSD want to publish the results. This is not just embarrassing, it's pathetic! Even more embarrassing is that the overall score of 66.5 indicate that the future numbers of our high schools will decline further.

Whoa! The L-E online does have a link to the numbers for all the schools including Carver.. the MCSD's bell weather project of the last 3 decades:
HIGH SCHOOLS (State avg. 72.0)
1. Columbus 95.7
2. Early College 85.3
3. Northside 78.6
4. Jordan 73.5
5. Hardaway 72.9
6. Kendrick 68.7
7. Shaw 68.2
8. Spencer 58.6
9. Carver 55.0
Carver got a 55 percentile.. Maybe the top 700-800 Columbus High students should be sent to Carver so they can benefit from all the built in technology and Carver students be sent to Columbus High to see what they are suppose to be doing to help themselves.

L-E headline/story: "Mayor Tomlinson faces challenger Martin in debate * Gloves come off at mayoral debate
* In her statement, Tomlinson pointed to pension reform, the Health and Wellness Center, Urban Service Districts and Redevelopment Districts, all of which were passed with unanimous support of Columbus Council. “It is a difficult and arduous task to lead a great city like this one. But that is exactly what you’ve seen,” Tomlinson said. “And yes, there were some folks on the front row of Colin Martin’s opening, but there were more elected officials at my opening.” -- Good grief, with all that's going on, Mayor Obamalinson chose to placate the government employees in an attempt to get their bloc vote.

L-E headline/story: "MUSCOGEE COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD | Q&A * Wells, Thomas, Morales, Steed vie for District 2 * John Wells, who has been on the board 28 years, is seeking re-election (answers this question) : Should the school district divide into three regions — east, west and central — as proposed by the superintendent?". )The answer given by John Wells): "Superintendent David Lewis has proposed the school district be administered through three districts, thereby decentralizing decision making while providing greater coordination of resources through the most efficient and effective method. His proposal should make better use of personnel with a greater focus on student improvement." -- Good grief.. Wells has been serving for 28 years, a number of those as the chair of the appointed School Board, and not once did an idea like this cross his mind..and he wants to stay on the board..

The AL-DOT should wait until my Cousin Florence Strang, daughter of one of my grandfather Kirven's sisters , now into her several times celebration of her 100th birthday, and lead pony of every event on North Eufaula Avenue passes on. I do not think the AL-DOT is strong enough to take Fonnie on in combat.

If the SEC Commissioner cannot, or will not, keep the viability of traditional rivalry football games, then the SEC need a new Commissioner.
