Some 45+ years ago, I read Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged". It was the longest book I'd read to date (though I have read the Bible since). At that time it was a little on the sci-fi side though I flinched a few times in the 70s as government regulations and restrictions became harsher and more invasive. I am going to read it again, only this time I'll be reading it as a history book and a guide/expose for the Judas 00-Barnum agenda.

L-E story: " Malaysia has awarded a manufacturing license to a 2 billion ringgit ($618 million) venture that will assemble fuel-efficient SUVs for China's Great Wall Motor Co." -- How ironic...capitalism's pendulum has swung back, and China is now outsourcing it's manufacturing jobs once outsourced TO China by American businesses.
---
Michigan runs some pretty slick institutional-type ads to interest people to come to Michigan. Sorry, Michigan, you're wasting your effort and money until you do something about the war-ravaged images of Detroit are repaired.
---
Online story: "There is yet another ObamaCare surprise waiting for consumers: from now until the next open enrollment at the end of this year, most people will simply not be able to buy any health insurance at all, even outside the exchanges." -- Hmmm, so even though Judas 00-Barnum claims 7.1 Million signed up, that leaves an additional 40+ Million who didn't have insurance at all last year without it (or the possibility of getting it) for this year as well. Now, of the 7.1 Million he claims.. does that mean if the signees don't keep up with their payments, they won't be able to get re-instated, and at year's end, there will be a zero-gain?
---
An illegal alien who is a self declared Moroccan terrorist who planned to blow up a school using a remote controlled toy airplane "bomb", is considered by government agencies as a case of someone "slipping through the cracks". No. Judas 00-Barnum "slipped through the cracks".
---
Judas 00-Barnum is such a hypocrite. Equal pay for equal work has too many environmental variations to set a standard that isn't flexible for experience, dedication, and special skills.
---
Once again, Judas 00-Barnum could step up to the plate concerning equal pay for equal work, and reduce tax dollar waste with one stroke of his pen. Simply reduce the salaries of his male White House staffers
---
Equal pay for equal work. Hmmm, wonder how that will pan out for unionized Northwestern football players? Wonder if the back up right tackle will make as much as the All-American contender he's behind. Wonder if the standard quality left tackle will be paid as much as the All-American right tackle? Oh, let's talk about equal pay for cheerleaders.... does the blonde dating a geek get paid the same as the blonde dating the star quarterback? Judas 00-Barnum is nothing more that a pot stirring malcontent.

There's talk about making every member of Congress attend sensitivity seminars concerning sexual conduct. Whatta waste! If a member of Congress needs such an educational "lesson", then his/her constituents should do us a favor and send somebody else to represent them.

L-E editorial comment: "Seven years ago, when National Public Radio legend Garrison Keillor broadcast his iconic "A Prairie Home Companion" live from the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts * days later, many Columbusites felt offended and betrayed when Keillor published an essay in Salon.com titled "The Spring Blues," in which, after a few more peremptory tributes to its beauty and hospitality, he called Columbus "a good place to be sad. * Which brings us to the Gallup poll published on Yahoo! ranking 189 American metropolitan areas. By this scorecard, Columbus is the seventh most miserable city to live in. We're depressed, underpaid, unhealthy and hungry; we don't like where we live, we don't like where we work, and we don't like the people with whom we live and work * Think about how many people live here purely by choice. No chains of job or family or other obligation bind them here. Also, look at the Yahoo! list of cities supposedly "better" than this one, and count the ones you wouldn't consider moving to if they sent a limo. You'll quickly run out of fingers. * It's important that we know what our assets are and what our problems are. We fail ourselves and each other if we ignore either." -- Hmmm...there's two very important aspects that the "misery poll" probably ignored in assessing Columbus. We're big enough to have one of most any activity you'd want but close enough to Atlanta to go and sate that desire, then return the same night. Additionally , we are only 4 driving hours away from the Gulf beaches or the mountains of GA, TN, and NC. Those are wonderful pluses.

L-E headline: "Court: Pecan Street teen points gun at sister, claims mother doesn't love him" -- Where is the info on whether the gun is legally owned by anyone in that house?
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "If JFK were alive today and running for president, he would still be a Democrat because he could never stand the rich-get-richer, poor-get-poorer concept of the Republican Party." -- Arrggghhhh!!!!! Another victim of history as presented by public education. Behind George Washington, Kennedy is considered the second wealthiest president ever of our country. His father was basically a "rum-runner" (though his "rum" was "Scotch") during prohibition and a great exploiter of the people. The Kennedy family defined the "rich-get-richer" Democratic Party hierarchy. Their only generosity to the "poor" was using other peoples' tax dollars to buy votes for themselves and the Democratic Party.

L-E story: "After an inconclusive 4-3 vote two weeks ago, Columbus Council voted 7-1 today to approve an ordinance restoring two-way traffic to two downtown streets. * Councilors Skip Henderson, Pops Barnes, Mimi Woodson, Evelyn Turner-Pugh, Red McDaniel, Bruce Huff and Judy Thomas voted to approve the measure. Councilor Gary Allen voted against it." -- The only thing worse than a do-nothing Council is a Council that does something about something that nothing needs to be done.
---
L-E story: "The Columbus Consolidated Government formally presented a proposed $263.1 million budget for fiscal 2015 to Columbus Council today. * The budget expects revenues of $259 million and expenditures of $263 million, meaning the city will have to dip into reserves for about $4 million," -- Budgets are made to coordinate reasonable expectations of revenues with reasonable expectations of expenses. Submitting a budget that is not covered by revenue expectations is irresponsible and arrogant.

The "National Action Network"... The Reverend Al Sharpton's organization owes the IRS $1.9 Million. Wonder if Lois Lerner ever reviewed the National Action Network's status?
---
That bigoted Westboro Church.. why hasn't the National Baptist group rescinded Westboro's use of claiming to be a Baptist affiliated church?
---
"I was not and am not a rat". " I am not a snitch.".. Hmmm.. a previous unpublish book title bt Dr, Suess? Nah.. Al Aharpton explaining his role in being and FBI "mole" with the mafia. Next he'll claim he's never been a racist or race baiter. Hmmm, why should you believe Al Sharpton today?
---
Tell you what, I'm not even following the "blade runner's" trial but just the clips of his sniveling testimony undermine any benefit of the doubt I might have given him otherwise. I think the judge who shut down his testimony felt the same way.
---
Online story: "A Vernon 7th grader was twirling a pencil that had a cap on the eraser end – prompting another child with whom the 7th grader previously had trouble to call to the teacher that the 7th grader should be “sent to juvie” for brandishing a gun." -- Good grief...he did get suspended.. Wonder if "Ethan the Kid" told the other kid he was going to "fill him with lead"?
---
L-E "Thought for Today": “The amount of satisfaction you get from life depends largely on your own ingenuity, self-sufficiency, and resourcefulness. People who wait around for life to supply their satisfaction usually find boredom instead.” — William C. Menninger, American scientist, physician, engineer (1899-1966)." -- Hmmmm... Certainly this will not show up as a "plank" in the Democratic Party platform. Of course, if the public education system did a little re-write, such as, "“The amount of satisfaction you get from life depends largely on your own government."
---
L-E story: "The rising cost of child care is among likely reasons for a rise in the number of women staying home full-time with their children, according to a new Pew Research Center report released Tuesday. * (There's a picture with the story that says a new mother) quit her job after crunching the numbers and realizing her salary after the birth of her son a year ago would go primarily to her commuting and child care expenses." -- You know, the reason most mothers went to work back in the 70s was because of high inflation and high tax brackets (up to 70%) imposed by the Democratic Party, Two incomes became necessary.. one spouse earned the family income, and the other spouse's income paid the taxes. When you parse the economic woes of this country at any stage of development, the Democratic Party agenda gets exposed.

There's discussion within the Muscogee County School System about shutting down the Planetarium as a way to cut costs. Seems there's about $108,000.00 in salaries/benefits/supplies plus utility costs that the parent school absorbs. Seems to me that a computer and projection viewer could be purchased for under $3,000.00 and a chaperone/teacher could run the set up with a remote device and make keeping the Planetarium open while saving all the salaries/benefits costs.

L-E story: " President Barack Obama’s aunt Zeituni Onyango... died Tuesday at age 61. * Onyango, a half-sister of Obama’s late father, moved from Kenya to the U.S. in 2000 and was denied asylum by an immigration judge in 2004. She remained in the country illegally , living in Boston public housing. * She finally was granted asylum in 2010 by a judge who said she could be in danger if she returned to Kenya because of her relationship with Obama." -- Wait a minute.. if having a relationship with Judas 00-Barnum and being worried about your future is the key to gaining asylum, how come Americans haven't been awarded asylum from him?
---
L-E story: "Georgia’s governor signed an executive order Tuesday to provide $4 million to cover costs associated with providing lawyers without conflicting interests for poor defendants. * The order signed by Gov. Nathan Deal moves money from the Governor’s Emergency Fund to the Georgia Public Defenders Standards Council. * The allocation comes after the state Supreme Court ruled last year that lawyers in the same public defender’s office cannot represent co-defendants in a criminal case if doing so would create a conflict of interest. The ruling effectively meant that many cases must be referred to outside lawyers." -- Wait a minute... what if Deal offered the prison system that amount to expedite and publicly execute prisoners who have been on death row for over two years instead? I believe that would probably discourage most new criminals from becoming criminals and needing public defenders at all.

You know, a politician dispensing tax dollars to lawyers is like robbing Peter's frends then hiring Peter to defend the Paul who robbed them.
