You know, all the apologies GM makes now for not recalling millions of cars are just as hollow as the years of silence preceding them if the CEO of GM doesn't tell current owners to bring their effected vehicles into a dealership, and give them a free rental until the problems are satisfactorily fixed. Until they are repaired properly, those vehicles are moving time bombs.

Gun safety... why don't liberal Congresspersons and other anti-gun advocates understand that aiming more restrictions at the 2nd Amendment cannot be effective because only people who respect life and the law will live within the parameters of those laws. Restricting law abiding gun owners from easy.. as needed... access to the weapons with which they use to protect their families, homes and themselves just gives an advantage to criminals that are not going to exercise personal restraint and responsibility, regardless of how many laws regulating guns that are in effect.

Two more deaths of young black men occurred in Columbus in the past few days. One while hanging about the local college campus with a loaded gun, and another killed in the parking lot of a strip club. The racists will posture about the circumstances, but the breakdown is not racist based.. it's a disintegration of morals and culture that the Jacksons and Sharptons will not let discussions about happen. While GA does have good laws concerning IDs at precinct polling places, there are literally zero constraints on acquiring and using an absentee ballot, and that's where fraud is most likely to occur. Perhaps requiring ballots sent to nursing/group homes should have to be validated by an in-house notary public as to who filled the ballot out and signed it.

L-E headline: "Puig hits 410-foot HR in Dodger 3-2 win" -- I really do not care about, actually, I have no clue who Puig is or what position he plays, someone getting a headline for a 410 foot home run. I have memories of Mickey Mantle hitting prodigious 500+ foot home runs, but my favorite memory is one I can turn to at any time and relive. In 1957, my Dad attended a game between Boston and Washington in Griffith Stadium. It's special in that Dad got the program signed by Ted Williams, my baseball hero. At 10 years old, that alone made this a treasure I still cherish today, but there's more. Dad kept the scorebook as did most ardent fans of the day. In the middle of his pen scratches (as he recorded the actions of every play), in the column next to the line scores, he made a personal note about the home run Ted Williams hit that day. He noted, "Williams hit home run over the 438' foot marker. It hit 30' above the fence. That, my friends was a home run that deserved a newspaper headline!
