HuffPost headline: "Great Lakes still at 37 percent ice coverage * The amount of ice present nearly a month into spring is astonishing scientists -- and taking a deadly toll." -- Hmmm .. "Global Warming"? "Climate Change"? -- Perhaps it's merely God's way of reminding scientists...and Algore (where's he been the last few years anyway?), and Libs in general, of who's really in charge of CHANGE.

Soapbox moment: Having elected school boards is a community's own worst enemy. Elected people are "politicians" and politicians are more concerned about personal popularity, power, and getting re-elected than they are about service. Most run on a "it's about the kids" mantra, but that's not what their focus should be. No, focus should be on what's good "for" the kids' futures, and what's good for the taxpayers today and tomorrow. The school board is not about running the school system, it's about making sure the school system is preparing the students for real life, and making sure the taxpayers are getting value for their investment. The school budget for 38,000 people (32,000 students and 6,000 employees) is bigger than the City's budget for that 38,000 plus another 160,000 people. Since we do have elected school boards, and it would take legislative action to change back,, perhaps some other changes might help. Perhaps having all seats limited to one 4 or 6 year term. Perhaps having the school superintendent be confirmed by a 2/3rds vote every two year or a public referendum when the school district elections are held. For years, the number one problem for our schools has been the superintendent rollover cycle and bringing in new ones from outside who are not familiar with the children or the current administrative staff.

Online story: "G(_*_)briel G---- N(_*_)varro, 20, faces first-degree murder charges in the death of Allison Leedy, also 20. * On April 12, Navarro allegedly strangled Leedy in the Renton apartment where they lived, then texted her family. * "If you are getting this you are responsible for Allison's death. You turned her against me," Navarro wrote, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. * N(_*_)varro also texted the woman's father, writing: "She's dead. I have the last laugh." -- Why is this man still alive? An intellectually stupid and egoistical idiot electronically confessed over the personal fingerprint of either his or the daughter he killed's cellphone. That and a jury of the first 12 people walking by the first court room the SOB could be taken should have resulted in a death sentence to be carried out on the Court House steps. Case solved, case closed, great deterrent for others. That's fast and speedy justice.
---
From same story above: "Police said that N(_*_)varro also called 911 and lied to a dispatcher, saying that he had flooded his apartment with propane gas and rigged it to explode if anyone entered. He also allegedly said that he was armed with a hand gun. * Renton police responded to the apartment complex and shot a window out with bean bags in an attempt to clear the residence of any gas. N(_*_)varro surrendered a short time later. * Police told KCPQ that they believe N(_*_)varro's actions were an attempt to get officers to shoot him." -- "were an attempt to get officers to shoot him"? Well, why didn't they? It would have saved a lot of anguish for the woman's family and the taxpayers a lot of money.

Just watched a slide show of the homosexual activist organization, Act Up, advertising campaign posters over the years. If the Supreme Court is wanting to do something about truth in political ads, then start with Act Up's claims that the GOP/Republican Party founded the KKK. The KKK made sure no Republicans were elected in the South for a century after the Civil War.
---
You know, KKK members are not Republicans.. they are just anti-Democrats like most people.

Has anyone in mainstream media asked Judas 00-Barnum why he didn't enact legislation on the minimum wage when he had a supermajority control of both the House AND Senate his first two years in office? Well, it's the same reason Bill Clinton didn't do it his first two years in office with majorities in both houses of Congress.. Democrats don't want to raise the minimum wage.. Democrats want to wave the thought of raising the minimum wage under low info voters' noses as a way of distracting Republican campaigns on vital issues.
---
So Chelsea Clinton Mezvinsky is pregnant. Talk about a child to be who will be constantly bullied by the acts of her grandparents.. One grandfather went to jail, and the other was indicted by Congress. One grandmother fraudulently raised her own salary as head of a government supported charity organization, and the other has more scandals in her past that Roman Polanski, Woody Allen and Judas 00-Barnum combined.

Online headline: "Hillary Rodham Clinton's upcoming book will be called "Hard Choices," a title that reflects how the potential 2016 presidential candidate may try to define her record as President Barack Obama's secretary of state while she considers another White House campaign." -- Tell you what won't be a "hard choice"... me leaving it in the book case at Barnes & Noble.
---
You know, I'm willing to bet that few books ever written by (or ghost written "for") a Democratic politician have actually been read, and most copies are bought up by unions and liberal organizations to maintain the Democratic Party support for wanted legislation..
---
Online story: "The Southern Poverty Law Center reports that there are 939 hate groups operating in the U.S." -- Hmmm.. in a word, "WRONG"! Actually if you use the same judgmental format and apply it to the Southern Poverty Law Center, there are 940.
---
Liberals in the San Francisco area have unwittingly hoisted themselves out of an affordable housing market with their own petards. Seems an over zealous Mountain View City Council has forbidden Google from building housing units on it's huge campus because.. because (hold on, I'm trying to get my composure back).. because the Council is trying to protect the city's "burrowing owl population"! Seems the Council has stuck its head into the ground rather than its usual haunt.
---
I do not know how I missed this tidbit, but a CSU supporter asked I jump in on the fact that Columbus State President Dr Mescon wants to up the campus enrollment by two new Cougars.. Really, live & caged Cougars at a projected cost of $2,600,000.00 plus the expense of an Atlanta-based wildlife specialist to tend/care for the big cats. I don't care if the costs are 1005 covered by outside donations, those donations could have gone in the education of area students, not feed the ego of this wannabe-giant.

Remember that woman in Denver who was shot by her husband during the time she was calling 911 claiming her husband was claiming he was going to shoot himself? It's a shame that the police took 15 +/- minutes, but the hubby had eaten legal marijuana laced recreational candy. What was her responsibility as to staying in the house with a drug crazed husband with a gun? If her family has a lawsuit to file, it should be against the DOJ for not enforcing the federal law on marijuana use and sales.
---
Online headline: "Online headline: "College student jumped, didn't fall, from Denver hotel balcony after eating marijuana cookie: authorities * Authorities say a Wyoming college student who jumped to his death from a Denver hotel balcony ate more than the recommended serving of a marijuana cookie." -- Good grief.. there's a recommended "serving" of marijuana cookies? Hmmm , wonder what the fat calories are.. Also wonder if this student's family has a wrongful death suit it can file against Pric Holder for not enforcing federal marijuana laws in Colorado, too?
---
Judas 00-Barnum stated that if OObamaCRAP gets repealed, the federal deficit would grow. Hmmm, then I guess he's telling us that overall, OObamaCRAP will reduce the deficit. Please explain to me, show me, another government spending program that has done such. Even the most "successful" government program, the USPS, costs taxpayers billions of dollars in annual subsidies.
---
Open message to all candidates running for the MCSD board seats (and current members not up for election): 85% of all revenues go to paying salaries/benefits. This is basically the prime area to examine ways to cut expenses. The only other area to look into are the federal programs that require local funds to complete the funding.

WTVM9 headline/story: "Police: 6-year-old accidentally shoots woman in car, kills her * A woman was accidentally shot and killed by a child in Easley on Thursday afternoon, Maj. Tim Tollison confirmed to FOX Carolina. * Tollison said the victim, 22-year-old Alexandra Anita Santos, was in the passenger seat of a car on Hasting Road when she was shot. * The gunshot came from behind her and went through the seat, according to Tollison. * Tollison said Santos was accidentally shot by a 6-year-old child, who found the gun on the floorboard of the backseat. * The woman was brought to the Baptist Medical Center in Easley where she was pronounced dead a short time later. * Coroner Kandy Kelly said Santos died of a single gunshot wound to the chest." -- "sitting in passenger seat"... "shot came from behind her and went through the seat".. "coroner..said (she) died of a single gunshot to the chest"... Wait a minute.. a six-year old is being blamed for accidentally shooting through the backseat and hitting the passenger in the chest? This sounds like the 21st Century version of the old joke about a guy getting shot 25 times in what the sheriff claimed "was the worst case of suicide he'd ever seen"..

Online headline/story: "Hotel magnate and Clinton pal pleads guilty to illegal campaign contribution scam
Sant Singh Chatwal, 70, masterminded a scam to raise more than $180,000 for Hillary Clinton, Harry Reid and a Florida congressman. Sources said the officials were not aware of any wrongdoing. * A source said Hillary Clinton received funds from Chatwal but was not aware of any wrongdoing." -- Good grief.. Hillary hasn't been aware of any scandals in her life.. doesn't she at least read the newspaper liike Judas 00-Barnum does?
---
Online story: "Hawaii legislators in both the House and Senate agree that it's time to end an exemption that allows police officers to legally have sex with prostitutes. * A bill cracking down on prostitution originally would have gotten rid of the exemption but then, last month, restored the exemption after lobbying efforts by Hawaii police officers." -- No wonder there's so much trouble with the Secret Service activities when Judas 00-Barnum vacations...
---
Online headline: "Greta Van Susteren fact checks Jay Carney" -- Wow.. that woulda taken all of two seconds.
---
From a fellow BCer: "All you young whipper-snappers will never know the satisfaction of slamming down a receiver on a rotary phone!" -- You know.. I remember those days, and the phone was tough enough to take it!
---
Online story: "As President Obama touts rising enrollment in ObamaCare and declares "this thing is working," one Alabama county has reported another negative side effect from the law -- widows of county workers getting dropped from their insurance." -- In a word, "OObamaCRAP"!
---
L-E headline: "Poll: Area residents feel unsafe walking at night alone * Mayor says lack of walkable streets, poverty to blame" -- Good grief! Is Mayor Obamalinson not a leftwing Democrat or what! Poverty... she blames poverty while she spends hundreds of thousands, no, millions on pet projects like the bicycle trail, Whitewater, high speed rail surveys, dog runs, buying overpriced apartments and a non-cemetery, plus other non-revenue producing projects like the Liberty area, and submits excessive spending plans rather than balanced budgets.. You know, maybe she right about poverty being the blame, but then again, she's driving Columbus into poverty!
---
And if Mayor Obamalinson wants to play the blame game that some streets not being safe to walk, she should immediately revisit the "sidewalk" program that put paved walk areas with no curbs between the streets and Mail boxes that demand Postal Delivery trucks drive on the sidewalks.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "The Republican scheme of voter suppression is a third-world dictator strategy. They must think if you control the vote you can control the people." -- Oh.. wanting voters to carry Photo ID is "controlling"? In my book, "controlling" is buying poverty votes with entitlement programs that promote more poverty.
---
L-E headline/story: "POLICE: CHILD PORN, SEXTS FOUND * Sex offender charged with exploiting a child, enticing after probation check * Probation officers discovered child pornography on a computer and suggestive text conversations on a cellphone during a routine check of a sex offender’s house on Thursday, according to court testimony. * (_*_) repeatedly confirmed the girl was 11 years old, according to testimony Friday in Columbus Recorder’s Court. After requesting the girl’s bra size, police said he asked if she “wanted to hook up with a really hot 30-year-old.” An officer said the preteen had sent several nude photos to (_*_).
* After defense attorney Richard Hagler argued that (_*_)’s bond be set at a “reasonable amount,” Judge Michael Joyner set it at $20,000. * “The point of a bond is not to punish you or say you did something really wrong,” Joyner said. “The point is to guarantee that the defendant will show back up in court. Since the defendant has family in the area and hired a private attorney, I felt reasonably assured that will happen.” -- Good grief! Why was any bond set when the (_*_) was arrested while on probation! There is nothing good for this community by letting the (_*_) back on the streets and able to access children by personal or electronic means!
