The San Diego Clippers' players staged a silent protest before their game yesterday.. looks like they also staged a silent protest DURING the game as well. You know, a better protest would have been to walk in wearing "We're NOT with Stupid T-shirts", strip'em off at half court, and walk out. Same game results, better impact.

Online story: "President Barack Obama said Sunday that comments reportedly made by the owner of a U.S. pro basketball team are "incredibly offensive racist statements," -- Why is this man president? Here is an opportunity to either 'stir the pot' or 'move forward', and Judas 00-Barnum chooses to 'stir the pot faster'. Why did he focus on a statement's "racial aspect" rather than the fact it was simply a stupid.. a very stupid comment by a jealous idiot. You know, now we have to decide which man's statement will cause more "racial" unrest, rather than which man was wise, and which was stupid... right now, both categories are a "tie".

Online quote source: "“There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.”
- John Holmes " -- You know... how appropriate is this being circulated today.. this is something that needs to scratched into the Clipper's owner's and into Judas 00-Barnum's TelePrompTers. This should be everyone's first and driving thought of the day.

HuffPost headline/story: "Killer Pig Virus Wipes Out More Than 10 Percent Of Nation's Hogs * The killer stalking U.S. hog farms is known as PEDv, a malady that in less than a year has wiped out more than 10 percent of the nation's pig population and helped send retail pork prices to record highs. * Since June 2013 as many as 7 million pigs have died in the United States due to the virus," -- When I saw the headline, I just knew there was a political or terrorist joke in it, but after reading that the industry has capitalized on raising its prices, I am more disturbed at why there's not some moratorium about human consumption of infected pork.

What happened? Seems like a few weeks ago, Gallop Polls had Columbus at 7th.. now Columbus is:
8. Columbus, Ga. – Ala.
Work environment index score: 41.3
Pct. feel treated with respect: 90.0% (19th lowest)
Pct. learned something new that day: 62.5% (52nd lowest)
Pct. with college degree: 21.9% (123rd lowest)
Median household income: $42,972 (99th lowest)
Perhaps the potential of a change in political leadership is a welcome breath of fresh air.
---
One thing about the Gallop Poll that stands out is why Detroit, why New York and other major cities with huge inner city unemployment and gang problems are not in the Top 10.

Online story: "With only weeks left before she retires, View co-host Barbara Walters on Wednesday found time to fawn over another liberal Democrat. The veteran journalist repeatedly hyped Senator Elizabeth Warren as a possible president. As though she were the politician's publicist, Walters enthused, "A small town, Oklahoma girl grows up, handles the challenges of being a young, single mother, practically a teenager. She becomes a Harvard Law professor, a congressional advisor, and then the first female senator in the history of Massachusetts." * The host blurbed, "...Could her next move be the White House?" -- Why not, Warren's also already learned how to manipulate the truth as well as outrightly lie without flinching.. so if you compare her to Hillary.. she's just as ready.
---
And it just gets better (well according to how you define "better" ) - Online story: "While U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren sleeps in her $5 million mansion in Cambridge, and got paid $350,000 to teach just one class at Harvard, she had the audacity to say in an interview with Jon Stewart this week that “the system is rigged to benefit the rich.” -- $350K for 1 class... Hmmm, how many would you say are in a class at Harvard.. 5 or 6, 8-to-10, 30/35? Let's just take the number 35 as a talking point.. parents are basically paying $10K for their child to be instructed by a woman who has lied and manipulated herself into a teaching and political career. And she's not so good at it outside the borders of Massachusetts.

L-E headline: "Synovus CEO: More expense cutting ahead * Stelling says more branch closures are a possibility" -- You know... no matter what Judas 00-Barnum's spinmeisters, no matter what the mainstream media reports... Synovos is a real company, a real business that has climbed out of the rec ession/bailout hole, and still needs to reduce expenses.. Do not... DO NOT believe any Democrat candidate's claim things are so much better.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Great. Wackos and drunks can have loaded guns at bars and restaurants in Georgia. Guns allowed in our place of worship. So much for “public safety.” -- What's it about libs... criminals, wackos, and drunks have always carried loaded (as opposed to "I'll leave my bullets in the car and just carry my gun) weapons into places illegally. That isn't going to change because of this law, but now law abiding patrons can be able to defend themselves.
---
Nice reminder in the L-E today.. a refresher about our Civic Center manager.. What I though about is the policy of event tickets being provided free to Councilors and other City employees to events taxpayers have to pay for. Is there a website link to who's been getting those tickets, and whether or not a 1099 form is reported to the IRS?

L-E story: "Joan Rivers refuses to apologize for comparing living in her daughter’s guest room with the captivity of three women kidnapped in Cleveland. * Rivers and her daughter discussed their reality show Tuesday on NBC’s “Today” show and she complained about her living arrangements, saying, “Those women in the basement in Cleveland had more space.” Rivers tells The Plain Dealer in Cleveland that it was a joke she made as a comedian. She says the women are free and people should move on." -- I've never really been a fan of hers, but she's right.. basically "absolutely right"! Political correctness has strangled communications in this country... maybe this is a first step, though small trite one, towards the future.. sorta like Alan Armstrong's...
