Online story: "Cops anonymously told the New York Post that they aren't making arrests for minor crimes because they fear for their safety following the murders of two NYPD officers. * "I’m not writing any summonses. Do you think I’m going to stand there so someone can shoot me or hit me in the head with an ax?” a cop, who was granted anonymity by the Post, said. "I’m concerned about my safety. I want to go to home to my wife and kids.” -- You know, two wrongs don't make a right, but they sure will make the left sweat.. wait til "the numbers" start rolling in that not only "crime" is down, and revenues from those lack of arrests are zero, and the budget is kaput.
---
Of course.. the best move the NYPD could make is to be elsewhere whenever de Bl(_*_)io walks the streets or rides the subways of NY and when Cuomo or Obamageddon come to town..
---
Online story: "The number of law enforcement officers killed by firearms in the U.S. jumped by 56 percent this year and included 15 ambush assaults, according to a report released Tuesday. * The annual report by the nonprofit National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund found that 50 officers were killed by guns this year, compared to 32 in 2013." -- "Police Lives Matter"... more!
---
Chipotle... a NYC Chipotle restaurant (we have one in Columbus, too) refused to serve NYPD officers...employees even raised their hands and said, "Don't Shoot". Chipotle has not made an example of the franchisee or employees. ..Boycott Chipotle until they can verify every police officer in the country has been apologized to and fed free.

Online story: "New York's minimum wage will rise from $8 to $8.75 an hour on Wednesday, giving a boost in pay to some 700,000 workers." -- Hmmm.. Compositely, that's 75 cents an hour.. 75-cents times 40 hours, time 700,000 people, times 52 weeks will generate but a shade over $1 BILLION dollars gross in government estimated static income. The problem is that government doesn't calculate variables.. like hours cut-backs, or jobs lost because of the forced increase. Government also doesn't figure in additional costs to the City/State in unemployment compensation/entitlement programs from the influx, nor the losses in revenues NY government is counting on from misdemeanor street arrests/tickets. Jonathan Gruber is so right about liberals.

Oh.. The Huffington Post.. a.k.a. "the Huff Post/HuffPo" will now be referenced to as the "HuffPOO".
---
HuffPOO headline: "NYT Editorial Board Blasts NYPD Officers' 'Disgraceful Acts' of 'Self-Pity'" -- Hmm, what a declaration of the NYT's liberalism.. name calling when things don't go their way.. my guess is that the NYPD will now consider mugging NYT street vendors "minor crimes", and ignore them.

The NFL sucks! Rice and Suh..street thugs get reinstated after dastardly actions, and Peterson , because he has a parents' conscience, gets tromped on.
---
Good grief... Obamageddon says he's going to have to dust off his veto pen since Harry Reid won't be able to block House bills from coming to the floor of the Senate. What Obamageddon is actually saying is that the Democratic Party is the real party of "no".

Online story: "Atlanta - MARTA is looking to earn a lot more money from paid parking at its rail stations. * The financially challenged transit agency has just issued a request-for-proposals to hire a company to operate paid parking lots at 10 rail stations. * Currently, MARTA only charges for long-term parking at its rail stations. The daily rate is $5 or $8, depending on the station. The nine parking decks and two surface lots at the stations have 7,316 spaces. * MARTA earns about $2 million a year from parking at the rail stations (see chart below). The highest earner is the North Springs station, which generates about $1 million each fiscal year — or almost half of all of MARTA's parking revenues." -- Good grief.. government doesn't get it.. now that gas has dropped to $2:00-$2:25 a gallon, $8.00 will buy 3.5-to-4 gallons of gas, and it will be cheaper for MARTA uses who own cars to just drive into town and park there rather than park at MARTA and also PAY for tickets to ride into town. MARTA will lose revenues from parking AND fares.

MCSD project parsing time!
Item 17 - District-wide security improvements and replacement of outdated communications equipment: "$1,500,000.00 -- Hmm.. can we say "maintenance" and not SPLOST qualified?
Item 18 - Cafeteria and auditorium upgrades as "some" schools (Arnold, Clubview, Columbus, Eddy, Hardaway and Kendrick): $1,000,000.00 -- more maintenance.. not qualified under GA SPLOST restrictions.
What we are seeing is what happens when original SPLOST projects get built without any regard..intention, for that matter..of the MCSD administration to accept responsibility to the taxpayers to maintain and be accountable for such maintenance of the buildings we pay for.

It's not that we didn't already know it, but Louisville's Bobby Pitino just confirmed his lack of class ..Down 37-14, he called time out with 11 seconds left to try to score a meaningless touchdown.

There's a picture in the L-E today of a group of kids handing out blankets and care kits to the homeless. It's part of the Jr Marshal's program.. no doubt there is compassion here, but that's not the point I want to bring to light. The Jr. Marshal's program is funded in part, probably the greater part, by the Crime Prevention Committee which is paid for out of the Public Safety LOST. What to giving out blankets, care kits and compassion have to do with the Public Safety LOST restrictions?
