Yesterday morning, I got tired of Fox News blanket covering a jihadist
situation in Australia, so I changed channels. Went to CNBC, and good grief..and
what CNBC was interested in was the downward move of oil. ... and not in a
positive manner..those guys must be margined to the hilt on oil futures. You
would think a liberal owned media would be happy that consumers are getting a
break at the pump, and have extra funds to pay bills and buy presents.. You
know, all the elements will combine to move the economy.

Online headline/story: "Republicans blame Cruz for year-end confirmations *
Particularly galling to one Republican was that Reid was now in position to win
confirmation even for judicial nominees who had been approved by the Senate
Judiciary Committee since the midterm elections in which Democrats lost power.
Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, said Saturday evening that was a violation of
precedent "and of course, I object." -- You know.. beginning in January, the
Republicans can make rule changes.. one of such should be that their be no
post-election appointments CONFIRMED by either "the committee" nor the Senate as
a whole until the new Senate has met in January.
---
Online headline: "'Star Wars Episode 8' plot details included in hacked
Sony emails" -- "8"? Did I miss Episode 7?
---
Online story: "A Texas officer is under investigation after allegedly using
excessive force and tasing a 76-year-old (unarmed) man." -- Hey Ferguson.. look
no looting, no arson! The law will take care of an improper police action or
clear him.
---
HuffPost headline: "Dozens Of School Children Killed In Taliban Attack" --
Hey, Dianne Feinstein... the Taliban... waterboard them, talk'em to death,
excuse them, or decapitate them?

From the "suspicions confirmed" department - Online story: "Dr. Vivek
Murthy is a Harvard- and Yale-educated physician, and has identified obesity and
chronic disease as areas of focus for his tenure. He will be the first Indian
American to hold the position of Surgeon General. * The Senate voted, 51-43, to
confirm Murthy for the nation's top public health post, which has been vacant
since July 2013. * Sen. Mark Kirk (Ill.) was the lone Republican to vote for
Murthy, while three Democrats voted against him: Sens. Joe Manchin (W.Va.), Joe
Donnelly (Ind.) and Heidi Heitkamp (N.D.)." -- Hmmm, see, there are no
Republicans in Illinois... just a few RINOs.. One good thing is 3 Democrats "got
the message" in November and are preparing for 2018 re-election campaigns.
---
Online story: "HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — The families of nine people killed in
the Newtown school massacre filed a lawsuit against the maker and sellers of the
Bushmaster AR-15 rifle used in the shooting," -- Versus suing the estate of
Nancy Lanza? Obviously she didn't keep her guns secure from her psycho
son.
---
HuffPost headline: "US Asks The Vatican For Help With Guantanamo Inmates" -- Hmm.. not a bad thought.. the Pope seems to side with them, and the Vatican's walls are higher than Gitmo's.

L-E headline: "Cadillac Williams 'blessed and fortunate' on graduation day
10 years in the making" -- A man with a plan! This is a better example of role
modeling than any touchdown in his past!

Online quote source: "“The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of
despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement,
who can tolerate not knowing... not healing, not curing... that is a friend who
cares.” - Henri Nouwen -- Hmmm...Obamageddon is not our friend..he can't be
quiet on anything, and leaves for the golf course after the news cameras stop
rolling.

Online headline/story: "Liberal black governor asks if disruption is the
goal of protests * Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick chastised the latest
demonstrators to tie up the city in defense of two unarmed black men killed by
police as being "disruptive. * "And I think it does beg some questions: What is
it we're trying to accomplish beyond disruption?" Patrick said." -- Hmmm too
bright lights ...one, even liberals are finding out you can't negotiate with
other liberals and malcontents.. also, even shows that libs in government are
getting tired of protests they used to encourage.

A few days ago, an UGA football player was granted a 6th year of
eligibility. Good grief..this is precedent setting, especially in a world where
lawsuits are open to unionize and pay college players. With the NCAA now saying
colleges can get 6 years from a player, colleges will now compete with the NFL
on whether the players "go pro" or stay in college ( not to be confused with
staying in classes). The NCAA needs to enforce a 4 year time period players can
play. No "red shirting", and exceptions based only on players going into the
military service straight from high school, and students going to schools like
Brigham Young which requires students to complete a two-year missionary
project.

One of our BCer expounded on the Jakell Mitchell murder and the manner the
mainstream media has anesthetized the racial aspect. Here is one poignant
excerpt. I hope he will post the story and his response on his FB timeline for
"the Public".
"So why isn't Obama making a speech about how Jakell Mitchell could have
been his son? People want to say that black lives matter, but evidently some
matter more than others. Do black people feel that the lives of blacks only have
value if they are killed by a white person? if so, that is truly sad."
The only comment I'm adding is "does mainstream media also feel that the
lives of blacks only have value if they are killed by a white person or white
police officer.

From the "I hate even having to bring this up again" department - Online story: "While many of the allegations against Cosby are blocked from court by statutes of limitations, a Southern California woman has sued the comedian claiming he molested her in a bedroom of the Playboy Mansion around 1974 when she was 15 years old. * A lawyer for the woman, Judy Huth, wrote in a court filing Friday that he has interviewed two witnesses who corroborate her story * Attorney M*** S******** also states he has photographs of Huth and Cosby that were shot at the Playboy Mansion when she was underage.." -- You know..this Huth person.. says she was in the Playboy Mansion at age 15, and has two witnesses that can "corroborate" her story... hmmm.. well, if she was there, then she had a case against Hefner and the Playboy Club,, and those "two witnessess".. how old, and was she partying with them at Hefner's place as well? And those claimed photos.. Photoshop? Cellphone selfies? Hey, she says it was 1974, but if such pics did exist, Hefner himself would have had more interest in paying for them. This sucks of extortion gone bad.

Jonathan Gruber Stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "The CIA torture report showed
how horribly we treated prisoners. One way we can begin to scrub away the shame
is by showing Bush, Darth Cheney and Rumsfeld taking perp walks." -- Good
grief.. in my book, decapitation is treating prisoners horribly...
---
A knows-what's-going-on L-E "soundoff": "Went to the Bi-City Christmas
Parade. There were eight trucks pulling big bass boats (good, free publicity),
and one band, Central High School. It should have been just the opposite. Every
year it’s disappointing." -- MCSD band leaders will spout budget problems, but
the real culprit is the MCSD take on spending money celebrating a Christian
observance.. Guess we're fortunate there's no Ramadan parade..
---
L-E "Quotable": "Nothing will work unless you do." - Maya Angelou, American
poet (1928-2014) -- Hmm wanna bet al Sharlatan, Jackson, Obamageddon nor Pric
Holder have this comment autographed and framed and hanging on their office
walls?
---
In the L-E "letters" feature.. proverbial liberal timebomb (and Muscogee
Democratic Party officer) Judy F. Brouilette declares :"Those of you who blindly
followed the lemmings off the cliff and voted Republicans into control will reap
the disastrous consequences along with the rest of us in the coming years.
Republicans are demanding now, to prevent their shutting down our government
again, that Congress take the axe to provisions of the Dodd-Frank Bill, which
prohibits banks from gambling our taxpayer-insured depositor funds in risky
ventures. * Wall Street very nearly bankrupted our country in 2008, and we had
to rush mindlessly to their aid, because “they were too big to fail.” -- Hmmm,
as I recall it, Dodd and Frank basically CAUSED the 2008 catastrophe! It was
their bills that caused banks/mortgage companies to abandon good banking
practices of requiring ample and proof of income before getting a mortgage..

Good grief.. it's bad enough that we have venues that were built with no
concept on how it would produce revenues to simply cover operating expense (i.e,
ice rink, natatorium, dog rns, bike trails), but now one of the sites.. the ice
rink is offering 50% discounts in the newspaper thinking it will attract new
users. What is is going to do is give current users more time for less money in
the City tills.

The NFL has made a statement.. it's OK to bash your significant other in
public, and wrong to discipline your child. What's wrong with this
picture?
