Online headline: "Obama defends trade deal with China * Republicans against
proposed China trade deal" -- Good grief.. This is an enigma.. the Republicans
are lined up with Elizabeth Warren...

Online story: "Oil leaked into the Hudson River on Sunday after a transformer fire and explosion a day earlier at the Indian Point nuclear plant north of New York City, and Governor Andrew Cuomo said he was concerned about environmental damage." -- "concerned about environmental damage"? Hmmm only in the minds of liberals can discernment that an explosion at a nuclear plant and an oil spill on the Hudson are a "concern", while "climate change" is catastrophic. Of course if Bush43 were president, Cuomo would blame him and declare a national emergency.
---
Thinking about the above item... how would anybody even know more pollution was added into the Hiudson River.. it's almost solid enough to build a road across it if the bridge ever collapsed.

Saturday, I heard a vendor at the UPtown Market Day pitching the benefits of "raw milk" as an alternative because "people" are concerned about foods being associated with autism. Excuse me, but we've been drinking "pasteurized" milk since 1864, and it's been only in the past 20 years or so that autism has escalated at such aa rate as we're experiencing today.
---
Fact about "raw milk" from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration: "Raw milk is milk from cows, sheep, or goats that has not been pasteurized to kill harmful bacteria. This raw, unpasteurized milk can carry dangerous bacteria such as Salmonella, E. coli, and Listeria, which are responsible for causing numerous foodborne illnesses. * These harmful bacteria can seriously affect the health of anyone who drinks raw milk, or eats foods made from raw milk. However, the bacteria in raw milk can be especially dangerous to people with weakened immune systems, older adults, pregnant women, and children. In fact, the CDC analysis found that foodborne illness from raw milk especially affected children and teenagers."

From the "stupidest headlines/story" department - HuffPOOPOO headline: "Is Saudi Arabia Now the Israel of the Gulf? * instead of writing about being on the (peace) boat (sailing from Iran to protest the Saudi bombing and blockade of Yemen), I figured I would write about how Saudi Arabia is apparently becoming the Israel of the Gulf countries -- a habitual aggressor in its neighborhood, enabled in its aggression by the United States. Indeed, it could be argued that Saudi Arabia has become a more dangerous regional aggressor than Israel, because so far, at least, Saudi Arabia's aggression in Yemen, like its aggression in Bahrain, has provoked a less vigorous international reaction, including in the United States, than Israel's recent war in Gaza." -- Good grief...somehow, mainstream media believes it is "god".... Jacob was renamed "Israel" after he "wrestled with God's angel".. and somehow, only mainstream media types can associate Saudi Arabia "wrestling" with Yemen as "a more dangerous regional aggressor than Israel"..

The 17th at the TPC Sawgrass..usually a tourney decider..Well yesterday,
three people tied at the end of 72 holes because all three birdied the 17th in
the 4th round, and 2 birdied it in the 3-hole aggregate playoff. Ricky Fowler
then birdied it for the third time in sudden death yesterday to win. On top of
that, Fowler teed it up on #17 6 times this week and birdied it 5 of those
times. Ricky Fowler should be the poster child for the 17th at Sawgrass!

Online story: "Four Ohio teenagers arrested Friday were charged with
felonies after damaging 24 school buses as part of a senior prank. * Clark
County sheriff's officials say the teens removed valve stems from tires on buses
used by Northwestern Local School District in Springfield. Authorities say the
vandalism forced school officials to cancel all classes in the 2,000-student
district on Friday." -- Good grief.. this reminds of a "blonde
Joke"..particularly the one when a blonde's remote door opener's battery dies
and she called for roadside assistance.. not realizing she was holding a key in
her hand that could manually unlock the door.. Why.. why didn't the school
system just announce via robo-call/media that parents would be responsible for
getting their children to school that day?

Dr Lewis, not being content with railroading an $192,000,000.00 SPLOST
through is wanting a property tax millage hike as well.. Claims that state
funding is down. I've asked one of my reps to comment on this .. first as to
whether State Funding is less than last year, and secondly, what determines how
much the MCSD gets. Will pass on the answers as I receive them.

From above L-E story: "Information will be given to the board on a program
being put together that will offer swimming lessons to MCSD kindergarten
students. The program is in collaboration with Columbus Parks And Recreation and
the Columbus Aquatic Center. * Complete pilot program details and a memorandum
of understanding between Columbus Parks and Recreation and the MCSD will be
provided to the board in June for final approval." -- Good grief.. not only will
the taxpayer keep being stuck for losses of the natatorium, but now MCSD
resources will be tapped for another form of non-parental daycare.. the first
thing I want to know is whether there will be school buses or vans used to
transport them...

L-E story: "From a breakfast with women to a lunch hosted by a noted
producer to a dinner with nationally known entertainment names, the
(Hillewinsky's) path took her through only the most gilded portions of greater
Los Angeles. And it raised anew the campaign conundrum for a presidential
candidate whose major argument is that she understands the angst of the
economically stressed American voter." -- Maybe she was collecting bead crumbs..
uh.. cake crumbs.. for bribing voters with...
---
L-E headline: "Obama to try to allay Gulf nation leaders’ extremist, Iran
worries" -- You know.. this headline would serve the world better if it was
included as a Webster's Dictionary example of "a lesson in futility".

Looking at the weekly DUI arrests in the online L-E edition, certain things
stick out.. too many have no current drivers' licence, no tag or no insurance.
The only thing that will curtail this is to confiscate the vehicles when a
driver is caught for a second time..
