Online story: "Veterans of the Iraq War have been watching in frustration
as Republican presidential contenders distance themselves from the decision
their party enthusiastically supported to invade that country. * Some veterans
say they long ago concluded their sacrifice was in vain, and are annoyed that a
party that lobbied so hard for the war is now running from it * Jeb Bush said
that in light of what's now known — that Saddam Hussein did not have WMD
stockpiles — he would not have invaded." -- Good hgrief.. I thought the Democrat
mantra of "being for it before being against it" was the main impetus for
Republicans regaining control of both Chambers of Congress.. now it sounds like
Republicans are stripping the honor and memories of sacrifice from our vets,
too, and their families. As I recall. some 550 metric tons of yellowcake uranium
was recovered and sold/sent to Canada, and open threats about WMDs were enough,
in my book, to eliminate Saddam Hussein!

Comment on above: Hey Republicans.. it's one thing to say
"woulda-coulda-shoulda" today versus sitting on you rear ends then and there not
being a today. Stand tall and remind the rest of the world that America will
defend itself and its allies when some despot rattles his saber..rebuild the
respect and pride of AMERICA!

Online story: " Former Vermont Governor and DNC Chairman Howard Dean said,
"It is true the media really wants to see everything, and they have this
fundamental belief they should see everything, and I think Hillary's decided
they probably shouldn't. I think that's her prerogative." -- First, anytime a
Democrat starts using "think" instead of "feel", then what follows is the
current Democratic Party "talking point". Secondly, when a Democrat starts using
the word "think", it is only to bait conservative media into a winless frenzy of
debate of "what did Hillewinsky know and when did she know it". The main thing
here is that Dean has thrown out a "red flag" to divert conservative media from
what's really important.. Hillewinsky has destroyed the important stuff, and
when she finally syas, "well, here it is.. I'm in compliance.." there won't
being anything there.

doesn't she ask a child that's had his/her innocence stolen?

Online headline: "OHIO JUDGE BANS MENTIONING OF THE CONSTITUTION IN HER
COURT: -- Hmmm.. you know, I think I'd have my lawyer ask..If there is no
Constitution, then how can you defend your title.. sit in judgement in this
room? The Constitution is what authorizes your job as well as the rights of my
client.

Jonathan Gruber stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Lawyers, representing the injured people in the peanut butter salmonella case in Sylvester, caused the federal investigation of that processing plant and exposed a cover-up. Lawyers can help you when you need them." -- Hmmm.. there's just one itsy-bitsy, teensy-weensy detail left out.. the money initiative.. doing something because "it's the right thing to do" is noble... waiting until enough people have suffered so a class-action, big dollar, lawsuit can be filed is "lawyering as usual".

There was a picture or two of the Harris County High School graduation
exercise conducted in the Lumpkin Center at CSU.. it's somewhat perplexing that
the HCSD would would pay for use of a facility in another county. Maybe it's
because the lower taxes in HC have generated more growth in taxable property so
the HCSD has plenty of money to use in Muscogee County.

From the "what's wrong with this" department - From an L-E profile story
about a local person: " Family: Girlfriend, T****** T*LBERT and four children —
C*****, 20, C*****, 15, R***** Jr., 14, and M******, 9" -- A 38 year old man who
seemingly has 4 children with his girlfriend and hasn't ever married.. I could
be wrong, but it might.. probably is about some entitlement situation favoring
non-married head of household...

From op-ed commentary in the L-E: "Some have said that this is “all about
politics;” that the mayor is trying to get even with the sheriff and the marshal
for supporting her opponent in the last election. I have no clue as to whether
that is true or not, and in fact, as Hillary Clinton famously said, “What
difference does it make?” If someone is trying to do the right thing, as the
mayor is here, so what? What counts is what’s best for the public. * If you
think what I have shared with you makes sense, and the mayor is doing the right
thing, please contact your member on Council and ask him or her to support the
mayor on this." -- Good grief.. If the only argument for Mayor TomLYINGson is
comparing her with Hillewinsky, then there is no argument FOR her.. well, the
Mayor and Hillewinsky do share one thing in common... their versions of what the
truth "is".

L-E editorial: "Editorial * Think you know who really makes laws in
Georgia? * WXIA-TV reported last week on a group of Georgia legislators who met
with special-interest lobbyists in a Savannah hotel where, the station reported,
“they gathered in private rooms to decide what new laws would best serve the
corporations.”
* The host organization, probably to nobody’s surprise, was the American Legislative Exchange Council, better known as ALEC. * ALEC, by the way, is a 501(c)(3) “educational charity.” Contributions are tax deductible." -- Aside from the legal restrictions of a 501(c)3 organization being politically active, and legislators should know this, it's just plainly an act of stupidity... On the other hand.. it also reminds me of the uber-liberal MoveON.org et al having the same 501(c)3 or 4 status .. including president Obamageddon's

From the "?" department.. There's an ad in the Columbus L-E for an upcoming
fundraiser that consists of a morning SKEET shoot, and an afternoon of golf. heh
heh heh It's a fundraiser for the HC Humane Society.. you know, what would be
real interesting is to put shooters around the par 3 holes, and let them shoot
down incoming golf balls.
