Online story: "The days of the death penalty in Nebraska are ending. * Lawmakers repealed the death penalty on Wednesday with a 30-19 vote that overrode the veto Republican Gov. Pete Ricketts signed on Tuesday. One week earlier, lawmakers voted 32-15 to pass LB 268, which would replace the death penalty with life without parole as the state's highest penalty. * The number of death penalty states in the U.S. stands at 31 following Nebraska's repeal." -- Good grief.. well, when 1 door closes, another opens.. we should post signs in high crime areas that if one uses a gun in a crime, his/her sentence will included state banishment and a one-way bus/boat ticket to a state of his/her choice that doesn't have the death penalty:
Alaska, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin or the Dist. of Columbia.

HuffPOOPOO story: Saudi Arabia's implementation of the death penalty has skyrocketed this year, and rights groups are worried about the surge of capital punishment under King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud. The nation killed its 88th prisoner on Tuesday, which puts it on pace to nearly double last year's total number of executions by the end of 2015, according to a tally by Agence France Presse. * The 2015 total is high for Saudi Arabia, which along with China, Iran, Iraq and the United States ranks among the countries with the most executions each year. Amnesty International estimates the Saudi government executed at least 90 people last year, while Agence France Presse counts 87 killed. The 2014 totals were also up from the preceding year, which recorded over 79 executions, according to Amnesty. * Most of the executions this year have been carried out under King Salman, who ascended to the throne after the death of former King Abdullah in late January." -- Forget the bus tickets! One way flights directly to Saudi Arabia for such criminals!
---
You know, I firmly believe that any politician...any media reporter/columnist that feels "more and stronger" gun laws will solve street crimes has no clue on how to stop..even slow down..criminals.
---
So Cleveland has settled with the DOJ because of excessive use of force by the police..hmmm, has the DOJ ever settled with the Crips about their excessive use of force?

HuffPOOPOO "headlie": "Elizabeth Warren Is 'Mad As Hell,' And Wants You To Be Too" -- Hmm.. I don't know about "mad" as hell, but I would buy into "insane"..
---
From above HuffPOOPOO story: "A conference attendee asked Sen. Warren, a Massachusetts Democrat, a fairly straightforward question: Why isn't the government, with interest rates so low and the country so obviously in need of infrastructure and other investments, doing the common-sense thing, which would be to borrow money at those low rates and invest? * Warren responded, "We are not doing it because the people in Washington -- too many of the people in Washington -- do not represent the folks who elected them. They represent the rich and the powerful, who don't want their taxes raised," Warren said. "The only way we get change is when enough people in this country say, 'I'm mad as hell, and I'm fed up, and I'm not going to do this anymore.: -- Good grief.. how do people like Warren get elected??? Who is going to loan money to a government that prints its own and deflates the payback value of the dollars loaned?
---
You know.. Elizabeth Warren has a jaded view on minimum wages to boot.. she teaches one class at Harvard (she got based on her claim to be of Native American heritage), and draws a purported salary between $430K.
---
Senator Warren also has a liberals view on charity.. - between 2008 and 2011, her personal generosity. -yeah - on joint earnings averaging about $850,000.00 averaged about .028 percent.. When she says "charity begins at home.. she means..OUR homes!

Online story: "Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul is blaming his own party for the rise of the Islamic State group. * The freshman senator from Kentucky, who supports a smaller U.S. footprint in the world, says the GOP's foreign policy hawks, in his words, "created these people." * Paul told MSNBC on Wednesday that "ISIS exists and grew stronger" because Republican hawks supported giving out arms in the region "indiscriminately" and many of those weapons fell into the hands of the extremists." -- Obviously Paul thinks he's an oak, but he's really only a product of an oak.. a nut. It's Obamageddon policy that started with not keeping American "monitor" soldiers on the ground, and Obamageddon's policies of arming..re-arming... and further re-arming of the Iraqi soldiers which have fled battle scene after battle scene abandoning the weapons/vehicles we supplied. The GOP "oak" needs to be shaken soon and get the "nuts" out of it..
---
HuffPOOPOO story: " A U.S. senator visiting Cuba said bipartisan support was gaining in Congress to lift a ban on travel to Cuba and possibly also to end the long economic embargo against the Communist-led island. * A four-person Democratic delegation, including Senator Tom Udall, Senator Al Franken of Minnesota, and Representatives Raul Grijalva of Arizona and John Larson of Connecticut, came to Cuba while Washington and Havana work toward restoring diplomatic relations. Negotiators for both sides met in Washington last week, saying progress had been made toward the reopening of embassies after 54 years." -- Damn liberals.. wanna bet whether any of the four started with a demand that cop-killer Assata Sh(_*_)kur being extradited to the US is the first demand that needs to be met?
---
Online headline: "IRS believes hackers were Russians, sources say" -- Hmmm.. Russians? Well, only because IRS "lost" all the e-mails that show they could blame Bush...what a pathetic excuse.. IRS was hacked because of IRS incompetence!
---
Online story: "The Clintons, already under scrutiny for accepting foreign donations to their family foundation and keeping them secret from the Obama administration while Hillary Clinton served as secretary of state, have received money from another controversial source: the Federacion Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). * Soccer’s governing body, which donated between $50,001 and $100,000 to the Clinton Global Initiative and partnered with the former president’s foundation on other projects, is entangled in an international corruption investigation spearheaded by the U.S. Department of Justice, which spans countries from Qatar and Russia to Switzerland and the United States. * Bill Clinton served as the honorary chairman for the U.S. bid committee, which promoted America as the best place to host the 2018 and 2022 World Cup events. * In 2014, the Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee, set up by the Qatar government to ensure a successful FIFA world cup, awarded the Clinton Foundation between $250,000 and $500,000; the State of Qatar donated between $1 million and $5 million. * The money, according to the Clinton Foundation website, is for “research and development for sustainable infrastructure at the 2022 FIFA World Cup to improve food security in Qatar, the Middle East, and other arid and water-stressed regions throughout the world.” -- Can you imagine Hillewinsky ever being a "soccer mom".. how about a "cookie baking mom"? We know the answer to that..
---
Oh, Hillewinsky is back in South Carolina..after nearly 8 years since she left there with her tail tucked between her legs..... isn't that special....word to the wise.. don't buy anything she's selling.. especially the "cookies"
---
Online story: "A man was arrested on suspicion of starting a massive fire late last year that destroyed an unfinished apartment building and damaged adjacent office towers in downtown Los Angeles, authorities said Wednesday. * Dawud Abdulwali, 56, of Los Angeles, was arrested Tuesday morning on a traffic warrant and only later booked on suspicion of aggravated arson. * The arrest culminated a six-month investigation involving the Los Angeles Fire Department, the LAPD, and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. * He was being held on more than $1 million bail. Authorities noted his name may be an alias." -- "authorities noted his name may be an alias"? After 6 months of investigation? Excuse me.. but how can bail be set when the "alleged" perpetrator's true identity is not known after 6 months of investigation?
---
Online story: "As if the cheating scandal and inequality among schools weren't enough. Since the late 1970s, Atlanta Public Schools has failed to set aside enough cash in its pension fund for thousands of current and retired employees. That unfunded liability has now swelled to more than $530 million." -- You have to wonder whether it was internal use of "New Math" or "Common Core Math" that was used to calculate the pension funds...Hmmm.. bet if the APS withdrew pension participation from those caught cheating, the pension would be balanced again..but that ain't gonna happen..
---
From above story: "Voters on Nov. 3 could decide whether the school district should sell up to $400 million in pension obligation bonds. If residents support the measure, APS plans to take on the debt in two $200 million chunks. The first $200 million would allow school officials to pay down the liability from a woeful 17 percent level to 50 percent level of funding. The second half of the bonds would be sold at a later date and invested in the stock market. " -- Whoa! At least the voters have a chance to reject this bond issue as it will correspond with the General Election date, but how come liberals want to invest in Wall Street issues, but not let Social Security do the same? Hypocrites!
---
From the above story, also: "If the plan works, APS could improve its finances, help more kids graduate, and improve the caliber of teachers in classrooms." -- And the alternative results will be "status quo"?
---
Soapbox Moment: The reasoning above.. if you can associate school board logic and reasonable.. is what we have in the MCSD.. This past SPLOST.. it should have passed with a higher turnout than General Elections if the voters really were behind the school board.. with 32,000 students, and 6,000 current employees, there were upwards of 65,000 parents, teachers/spouse, plus retiree employees who should have given overwhelming support if they thought the MCSD was doing a great job.. less than 9000 bother to support the MCSD effort.. even a November election date wouldn't have drawn many more support voters, which is why the MCSD chose an alternate date. We need solid contact with our representatives to get all SPLOST/LOST and local elections back on the General Election date in November.
---
Online story: "Tuesday night, the Muscogee County School Board gathered in a called meeting to hear the administration explain the options. Superintendent David Lewis plans to make his recommendation for the local governance option during the board's June 8 work session, then the board would vote on the choice during its June 15 meeting." -- Hmm.. June 15th.. that's going to be a rip-roaring session.. hope the MCSB brings sleeping and snack bags to work.. Not only is this being decided, but the tax increase Lewis want on property taxes is also on the agenda..
---
L-E story: "A boating company out of Dadeville, Ala., home of popular Lake Martin, has purchased property on the Georgia side of Lake Harding and plans to open a new marina before the end of June, complete with a restaurant, convenience store, docks and fuel pumps. * Singleton Marine Group also will refurbish an existing boat lot just off Georgia route 219 — also known as River Road — to sell new and used watercraft and accessories" -- Interesting... please note the HARRIS COUNTY address.. smart choice .. lower sales and property taxes... yes.. developing the whitewater industry is paying off... NOT!
---
A "get's it" L-E "soundoff": "When the cops were coming, I destroyed 10 kilos of heroin and meth plus 5,000 tabs of Ecstacy. But I surrendered 7 joints, so I’ve been completely cooperative, just like Hillary with her emails." -- What else can I say.... or add?
---
Jonathan Gruber stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Headline: “Driver ‘flips bird’ then shoots at family.” Just another citizen exercising his Second Amendment rights in the wonderful state of Georgia." -- Oh.. let's not forget the 1st Amendment rights either.. of the "flipper" or this writer...
---
Jonathan Gruber stupid liberal's L-E "soundoff": " I am so tired of the whining babies complaining about once-a-week trash pickup. If the lazy wimps would put everything that’s recyclable in the big blue bin, then they would only need once-a-week pickup." -- I wish the L-E would print once-a-week advocates's e-mail addresses.. bet most have a ".columbusga.com" trail to the mayor's office. Even IF we went to once-a-week garbage pick-up, the savings per household are only claimed to be $8.00 annually.. and that amount would be quickly ingested into the operating costs, so, in effect.. we would be giving up a pick-up date and no tax savings.. only in the "mind of minutia" is that "good". Even "Common Core Math" backs this up.
---
L-E's "Thought for Today": “Courage is the most important of all the virtues, because without courage you can’t practice any other virtue consistently. You can practice any virtue erratically, but nothing consistently without courage.” — Maya Angelou (1928-2014)." -- Bet this was not quoted at Clinton's inauguration nor even suggested to be on the walls of the Oval Office with Obamageddon...
---
L-E's "Late laughs": "HILLARY CLINTON’S Super PAC has reportedly been struggling to raise money. It’s gotten so bad, they may have to start reaching out to Americans. - Seth Meyers" -- Don't you love it when liberals turn on each other.. don't you get depressed that it won't affect how liberals vote anyway?
---
L-E headline: "Legal dispute over MLK Bible, Nobel prize headed for court-ordered mediation" -- Well, so much for the "apples" falling close to the tree.. seems there's an awful lot of Christianity and Peace missing from this equation.
---
L-E e-edition headline/story: "(sic)Uptown Concet Seies concludes wit depArture Friday night (Translation: Uptown Concert Series concludes with Departure Friday night) * What is allowed and what is prohibited? Feel free to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Food and beverage is allowed but no glass containers or outside alcoholic beverages." -- Hmm so the sanctity of a family event is sacrificed for the benefit of the area pubs and bars...but restaurants be damned!
