From the "let's downplay the results" department - HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Ohio votes down legalizing pot for medical, recreational use *  Turnout was low as early presidential politicking largely overshadowed campaigns and exacerbated voter disinterest that generally accompanies an off-year election." -- Good grief..the article didn't even mention that Ohio voters rejected the measure by a 2-to-1 margin.. That..is what's considered a "landslide"... and a definite plus for Kasich being the Republican Party VP choice.

Deja vu item like above - Online story: "Conservative businessman Matt Bevin won the Kentucky gubernatorial race on Tuesday night, handing the Republican Party its 31st governorship in a state that has elected Democrats to that office all but once since the presidency of Lyndon B. Johnson. * Bevin’s victory comes as a surprise after pre-election polls showed Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway, the Democratic candidate, holding a slight to substantial lead. Instead, Bevin won the race by a margin of 52 to 44 percent" -- "victory comes as a surprise"? Good grief.. when mainscream media is doing it's own poll analysis, I guess any Republican victory "comes as a surprise".. Hey, G.I. Jillary.. who are you hiring as poll analyzers?

---
Note about the KY election.. Matt Bevin associated himself with Trump... and blew away the number of votes mainscream media thought Bevin  would get.

Online story: "Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc is now linked to 35 confirmed E. coli food poisoning cases in Oregon and Washington, state officials said on Tuesday. * Health officials have urged anyone who ate at a Chipotle in the two states between Oct. 14 and Oct. 23 and suffered vomiting and bloody diarrhea to see their healthcare provider." -- "see their healthcare provider"?  ARRGGGHHHH!!!!!.. PC-ness will be the death of us all... me, I recommend doing what I'd do.. I'd call my DOCTOR or go to an ER..I'd also avoid Chipotle...

---
Online story: "The slogan "Death to America" is not aimed at the American people, but rather American policies, Iran's supreme leader said in comments reported on his official website Tuesday. * Khamenei says the "aim of the slogan is not death to American people. The slogan means death to U.S. policies and arrogance." The slogan has "strong support" In Iran, he said." -- Did Bill Clinton get a damage-control job defining in Iran as chief-word-definer?

---
Online headline: "Lucy Liu shares sweet photo of her baby son, Rockwell * The stunning actress surprised everyone when she welcomed a baby boy in August via a gestational surrogate carrier." -- "gestational surrogate carrier"?  Is Clinton moonlighting as chief-word-definer ?

---

From the "couldn't find this in the HuffPOOPOO news feed" department - Online headline/story: "San Francisco sheriff loses re-election bid amid 'sanctuary city' controversy *  Embattled San Francisco Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi convincingly lost his bid for re-election Tuesday after spending months in the national spotlight as the face of his city's controversial "sanctuary city" policy on illegal immigration.

Mirkarimi, 54, was defeated by Vicki Hennessy, a former sheriff's official who had the endorsement of San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee and the sheriff deputies association. With 42 percent of precincts reporting, Henessy had received 63 percent of the vote to 31 percent for Mirkarimi." --  Yes! By a landslide! There's hope Pelosi will be next!

---
Online story: "A man charged in connection with the June death of a Georgia sheriff escaped as deputies were trying to transfer him between counties Tuesday morning, officials said. * Treutlen County was transferring Jim Lowery to a jail in Laurens County when he got out of the transport vehicle and ran away, * Lowery slipped out of leg shackles.." -- "slipped out of leg shackles"? Good grief.. how does one "slip out of leg shackles?

UPDATE - the (_*_) has been recaptured.

Online story: "Newly released emails conflict with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's 11-hour testimony before the Benghazi Select Committee, according to a review of the transcripts and public records." -- "newly released emails conflict with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's testimony"?  Good grief.. the 'truth" conflicts with G.I. Jillary whenever she opens her mouth...

Online headline/story: "Lawmakers sound alarm over failing ObamaCare co-ops * Congressional lawmakers are raising alarm over the rapid collapse of several so-called ObamaCare "co-ops" -- government-backed alternative health plans -- that are failing, leaving tens of thousands of customers scrambling for coverage, and billions in taxpayer-funded startup loans at risk.  * To date, nearly half of the 23 co-ops established under the Affordable Care Act have gone or are expected to go under by the end of the year. The latest to be barred from selling insurance on the official marketplace is in Arizona. * An inspector general audit released over the summer found that in 2014, only one -- Maine's -- of the 23 made money that year. And it found half of them lagged far behind their enrollment projections." -- Only one made money? Sounds like 22, ni=ot 11, failed.....unless, of course, you're adding up number with Common CRAP math.

WTVM9 story: "A mother speaks out after her son was shot by a Columbus Police officer Tuesday morning.
 * Tammy Cain says her 29-year-old son is currently at Midtown Medical Center where he is being treated for a gunshot wound to the leg. Cain says she is still trying to understand how a traffic stop turned into a shooting." -- "traffic stop"? It was a drub bust! ,,but what I want to know is why WTVM (9 thought the unsubstantiated, conflicting-with-the-truth, opinion was newsworthy?

---
L-E tory: "If 11th Street is one of your main routes out of downtown Columbus, you might want to reconsider it for a few weeks. * Construction crews have blocked most of 11th Street between First Avenue and Broadway for storm and sanitary sewer repair work." -- Hmmm... Remember the "promise" in the 90's that the Water Works bond issue would correct ALL the sewer problems then and in the future..and isn't it "funny" that this is never reported by the L-E when it mentions a sewer collapse

Reading about the growth of the ice caps at both poles makes us naturally wonder where Algore is, but also , where's Tipper?

Hershey says slumping candy sales are because of an "income gap". Good grief, when " point of  sales " displays at Walmart ask for $1.29 for a candy bar...that is no longer an impulse buy.

---
Online story: "“Representative democracy” has failed; the private sector is “inept”; and only bigger government – led by China and the US – has the power to save the world from climate change. * So says Bill Gates in a dogmatic but somewhat confused interview with The Atlantic" -- Good grief.you know, in a way Gates is right.. with socialism as he desires, then no one outside government would be able to afford, even own,  a car so carbon emissions would basically cease. Even if a socialist government confiscated Gates' wealth, there isn't enough money to provide cars for everyone.

I have a hard time with the local Habitat for Humanity's concept of improving eyesore areas when it created a very public one when it recently moved. kitchen and bath equipment is not pretty "yard art".

---
Jonathan Gruber extra-stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Congressman Gowdy, you and your committee gave Hillary her biggest boost for the presidency." -- Well, only if you were looking for reassurance that she hasn't recreated herself into a "truth machine"...

FTR: It's now 4 days past the extended deadline for the Whittlesey Road widening project completion date.

From L-E story: "Colorado voters decided to let the state keep $66 million in tax revenue generated from the sale of recreational marijuana. An existing state law requires excess tax revenue to be returned to taxpayers, but on Tuesday voters agreed to make an exception with the marijuana revenue and direct it instead toward public education and drug-prevention programs." -- This is what happens when politicians smell more money .. it's not going back into the taxpayers pocket..period.. it's the same way here in Columbus.. this is the motivation to remove the tax freeze that has worked so well at keepin Columbus Councils from being even more wasteful that the are.

L-E story: " No one was injured when a Columbus police caught fire early Monday at a Cusseta Road gas station, according to an incident report. * Officials said they are still investigating the incident, but they believe a mechanical issue may have caused the fire. Foul play isn’t likely, Columbus arson investigators said. * An official with the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office said he was driving in the area around 1:15 a.m. when he noticed a burning patrol car parked at the 1011 Cusseta Road gas station. He immediately called 911, police said. * Columbus firefighters and police arrived on the scene and found the 2013 Dodge Charger engulfed in flames. * Officials said they extinguished the fire and determined that it caused extensive damage to the front end and engine compartment of the car. The estimated cost of damages wasn’t listed in the police report." -- What's missing from this story? How about the whereabouts and action (or non-action, it seems) of the driver of this Columbus police vehicle, and why was it pulled into a commercial gasoilne station?

L-E story: "DETROIT — The U.S. is speeding toward what could be a record year for auto sales. * Sales of new cars and trucks rose by double-digit percentages at most major automakers in October, and companies are raising their expectations for the rest of the year. U.S. sales rose 14 percent to nearly 1.5 million, according to Autodata Corp. * It was the best October since 2001." -- Dang.. Bill Clinton must be a busy man as it looks like Detroit has hired him to create a new definition for "sale".. It seems to me that there are more "leases" than "sales", and dealerships are making a lot of low-ball lease offers that over value their turn in value in 2 or 3 years. Be on the lookout for another collapse of the dealer structures,
