Weekend update.. Just a reminder that no Breakfast Club is being published on Sundays...
----

Online story: "A jury has awarded $240,000 to two Muslim men who say they were fired from an Illinois trucking company after refusing to deliver alcohol." -- Good grief... Hey, what about the bakers who refused "to deliver" a gay wedding cake for a gay wedding  who were fined for standing up for their religious beliefs!

You know.. what would have happened is a White House staffer was Muslim and decided he wouldn't deliver a beer to Obamageddon when ordered?

How can electric car manufacturers claim their cars don't pollute? Isn't the pollution involved in the manufacturing process the same as emissions?

---
Online headline: "Gov. Jerry Brown Says Ted Cruz Is 'Absolutely Unfit' To Run For Office Because Of Climate Change Views" -- "absolutely unfit"? Good grief.. Moonbeam Brown is the same idiot that believes that artificial turf is the answer to droughts, and moved to protect immigrants in the country illegally from deportation if they are victims of certain crimes and cooperate with the police.... Excuse me, but how does artificial turf help climate change when it is actually a heat generating "blanket", and how can committing any crime be considered cooperating with police?

---
Online headline: "Disturbed Man Tries to Get Into White House" -- Ooooops, thought this was a G.I. Jillary campaign ad about Bernie.

---
Instant repeat - Online headline: "Disturbed Man Tries to Get Into White House" -- Tries to get into the White House? Seems like it's a little late to close that barn door...

---
Spent Saturday afternoon downtown with my bride, one daughter, and  my granddaughter. never thought I'd ever say O had a less than pleasing meal from a Mark Jones restaurant , but I had a Philly-cheese steak sandwich, and I did not have a "clean plate club" experience...

---
Next was to head over to the "UPtown Spooktacular".. my bride and I used to actually participate in this event when we had a business on Broadway so we were looking forward for our granddaughter to experience it.. what a disaster.. fortunately, a number of other families have sounded off on it on Facebook so I don't have to expound too much more, but needless to say.. we want do this again unless the format returns to a  children friendly format...
---
To make it a complete Halloween "hat trick". we took our 3 year-old granddaughter to the movie Friday evening... to see "Hotel Transylvania 2".. Talk about a Halloween trick...it cost $48.59! And that's only the beginning of the Halloween trick! Remember when you used to pay a set price for a ticket and all the taxes were already included in that price? Well, no more.. Now, Carmike has started adding on the 8% local/state sales taxes onto all the tickets and concessions prices.. on top of that, there are new higher prices as well... the Senior tickets are now $7.56 ($7.00 plus .56 in sales taxes) and the ticket for our 3-year-old was $8.91 ($8.25 plus .66 in sales taxes). Oh, and the "kids pack"... that extra pricey purchase so kids will have their own snack to amuse them.. it is now $8.64 ($8.00 plus .64 in sales taxes) .. guess some people had already experienced this because there was a mostly empty theater and parking lot when we left at 8:30. --- Afterthought... remember the theater boxes of candies you can buy at Target for $1.00 plus tax that Carmike sold at $4.00 including taxes? Well, now Carmike is charging $4,00 plus .32 in sales taxes.. new price for the $1.00 box of candy is $4.32....If you buy one in the future, I'd start looking for the expiration date and carry a "Swifter" refill to wipe the dust off. --- Another afterthought.. it cost $17.55 to take our 3-year-old to see a movie, and she was ready to see it "again" as we left.. I think that before we take our 3-year-old to a movie again, we will just wait until the DVD comes out and buy a copy we can watch with her to her heart's content... and save a ton of money.

Oh! Those highly ballyhooed  electric vehicle chargers at the corner of Broadway and 11th St... They are really are a waste of time and money when non-electric vehicles use those paking spaces and Metra meter maids aren't working..

---
What do the University of Minnesota, Houston, and Texas A&M have in common? How about the first ever tie for the ugliest football uniforms  for the weekend...

---
Online story: "Hillary Rodham Clinton soaked in standing ovations and weathered protesters over a day of campaigning intended to solidify her advantages in the African-American community and highlight criminal justice and economic policies that she says will treat blacks more fairly." -- "she says she will treat blacks more fairly"?  More fairly than when... when she was in Arkansas? When she was in the Senate? Anyway, it's about time, G.I. Jillary admitted it and says she's going to be better.. of course.. how do you believe a liar...

---
Have you noticed that Democrats are a lot nicer to black voters when they are making campaign promises that ater they get elected?

---
Online story: "On Wednesday, Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders told students at a town hall meeting he supported decriminalizing marijuana." -- Well.. it's what Bernie thought Democrat voters wanted to hear... but it wasn't anything original.. Obamageddon just decriminalized that for 6,000 this past weekend...

---
There are a lot of problems with Obamageddon's edict to release 6,000 convicts who are considered "non-violent", but the worst is that a lot of those convicts were sentenced for only 1 or 2 charges while other charges were dropped  in order to get a lesser sentence via  a plea bargain, or because a witness would not appear (or was shaky) or because the DA's office wanted to get a conviction on the easiest charge(s) it could win.... Oh.. and let's not forget the charges that were dropped because one criminal snitched on another one...

---
The movie "Jobs" was a bust... guess seeing trailers of Jobs being a greedy capitalist was more of the truth than liberals wanted to know about him.

---
After game 4 of the World Series, Bill Buckner became the happiest man in America.. he must have felt like Jimmy Carter did when he learned Obamageddon became president.. now everyone will think the Mets' Daniel Murphy's game 4 error was worse than Buckner's

HuffPOOPOO "headlie": "Starbucks' Red Holiday Cups Look A Whole Lot Different This Year" -- Naaaah, they're basically still the same... they still don't have "Merry Christmas" on them..

---
L-E headline: "COUNTRYMAN AND CREIGHTON-BISHOP *Lawyers: City officials’ suit against city is ‘heavy-handed budget negotiating tool’ -- Hmmmm... and both those budgets could probably be met if Countryman's salary was the "same per employee" as Boren's or Darr's, and if Bishop only got paid for the time she actually spent in the office.. now,  throw in the saving of their collusive nepotism in the past for the "Jr Marshal" program and there would probably be money left to put back into the City's "fund balance".

---
L-E commentary content: "There's an obstacle in Georgia's DUI laws way too big to call a "loophole." This is a yawning chasm into which have fallen (sic)--(perhaps "failed") both reasonable justice and common sense. * According to a story aired on Atlanta's WSB-TV and picked up by AJC.com, some drivers who fail breath, blood or urine tests are getting those tests suppressed as evidence on the grounds that they were too drunk at the time to give informed consent. * Got that? If you're really smashed when you get caught, you can argue later that you were too wasted to know what you were doing when you consented to an alcohol impairment test. And the drunker you were, the better your chance of getting the court to suppress evidence of how drunk you were."  -- Good grief.. whoever the lawyer was that brought this up and the judge that even considered this should be placed in "stocks" out side the court house for public response.. I will provide the stones...

--
L-E headline: "Spencer makes history with first winning season in 38 years" -- Oh.. football...Now, can anyone provide any season in the 21st Century that Spencer has had a winning season in academics?

Since Hallmark started its Christmas movies yesterday, I want to share this, a family Christmas story: When my mother was about 14, she went to New York on  trip with her Dad..it was October of 1934.. Her Dad pulled a pine cone out of a sack he brought, and buried in the plaza at Rockefeller Center..The family went back in early December, and Mother saw the now famous Rockefeller Center Christmas tree where her Dad had planted that pine cone..that was Christmas magic

Online story: "New House Speaker Rep. Paul Ryan on Sunday renewed his vow to unify congressional Republicans but suggested no compromises with congressional Democrats on their push for immigration reform or passage of a family leave act. *  Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Florida, said at a women’s forum two weeks ago in Washington, “You deserve quality time with your family,” . “But every mother and father in America deserves that time too. And we Democrats will be loud and clear in calling on you to make paid family leave a priority at the outset of your speakership.
" -- Hmmm... Lower taxes and National Debt so that less income is needed to raise a family would be a better solution.

---
Online story: : "An armed man attempting to rob a neighborhood store was shot and killed by a customer who had a concealed carry license, Chicago police said Sunday." -- Yes! and more such armed law abiding citizens would put a bigger dent in the crime rate than any new law will.. Oh... BTW, these are the figures for Chicago through October 31st:
Year To Date
Shot & Killed: 378
Shot & Wounded: 2180
Total Shot: 2558

---
Online heahdline: "ACC suspends officiating crew following controversial end of Duke-Miami game" -- You know.. that was a fun video to watch/rewatch bit why doesn't the NCAA use the video replay to rule that the play ended before the touchdown and give the win to Duke. In this day and time.. there's no reason not to correct a bad call/no-call on the last play.

---
If you haven't seen it.. Google "Jeopardy pansy question" and watch the YpuTube video..The f\Final Jeppopardy "answer" was a pictoral one asking the contestants to identy=ify a particular flower that some times describes liberals.. the correct "question" was "What is a "bleeding heart".. but one contestant wrote in " (spoiler alert) "What is a pansy?" -- I'd have at least given her partial credit...

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Iran Officially Begins To Curb Nuclear Program" -- Hmm.. yeah.. Iran is putting its old stuff out on the curb to make room for the new stuff it now has access to...

---
HuffPOOPOO story: " In June, Turkey’s leftists rejoiced. The controversial, conservative religious party that ruled Turkey for 13 years was pulled from power by a left-wing underdog. History was made. * But now, less than five months later, the Justice and Development Party (AKP) has made an unexpected electoral comeback after Sunday’s snap parliamentary election, with the pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) pushed to the sidelines, leaving minorities, secularists and government critics reeling.
" -- Hmmm .. looks like maybe we should remodel our Constitution so we can get rid liberals elected by people displeased with RINOs in 5 months rather than having to wait for the next Congressional election two years later...

---
Online story: "It might be the world's most expensive gas station — not to mention a gross misuse of taxpayer money, according to a top government watchdog. * The lead oversight team monitoring U.S. spending in Afghanistan has found the Department of Defense spent $43 million to build a gas station in Afghanistan that should have cost roughly $500,000. " -- Hmmm.. maybe this was one of Kerry's "early deals".. You know.. that $42,500,000.00 waste could have been better spent taking care of our soldiers.

---
Ironic.. the sheriff in San Francisco is up for re-election and may become the first San Francisco sheriff not to get re-elected in the last 60 years.. Guess there hope that the citizens of San Francisco are fed up with being a "sanctuary city" and ... hopefully.. with sending Pelosi back to Congress..

L-E story: "“Yesterday I took a long leisurely ride and enjoyed the scenery. As I was riding the RiverWalk near the recycling center I noticed a black box nailed in a tree about 20 feet off the ground. No wires, no holes and permanently attached. I though this odd, so I took a couple of pictures. *  “About 100 meters farther north I noticed a second box. They do not appear to be cameras. I can’t imagine that you would place anything this high in a tree that would require any regular maintenance or checking. “Let me know what you find out.” They are Piper boxes or Piper beacons, and the two our Curious Reader saw are among 12 put up along the RiverWalk. Why, you ask? Piper is a company that builds the beacons that allow you to send out messages to anyone whose phone has the Piper app (which mine now does). Restaurants and other businesses can send out messages about specials or offer special to Piper users. * The ones along the RiverWalk give the Piper users brief messages about the area they’re passing through along the river. CSU apparently uses a series of them to give an online tour of the campus and to announce events." -- Good grief ... 12 trees have been damaged along the river in order to invade people's moments of solitude.. Now, if those "boxes" had been put there to block out cellphones, I couldd be all for them.. that way, the rest of us could enjoy a walk or bike on the RiverWalk without cellphone rings, beeps and conversations.

L-E's " Thought for Today":  “Our most dangerous tendency is to expect too much of government, and at the same time do for it too little.” — President Warren G. Harding (born this date in 1865, died 1923). -- Hmmm... this should be on every government salary/pension check and  EBT/SNAP card issued!

---
L-E headline: "New U.S. Bike Route 21 connects Atlanta to Chattanooga" -- I want to know when these bikes will require licenses and insurance so that bike owners are pulling their weight in responsibility.

---

L-E story: "Sandra Bullock’s political satire “Our Brand Is Crisis” and Bradley Cooper’s chef drama “Burnt” added to a pileup of flops at the box office, where new wide releases have gone a startling 0-for-9 in the last two weeks. * After five movies failed to draw moviegoers last week, Hollywood whiffed again over the Halloween weekend as four new movies went largely ignored in favor of trick-or-treating. The “60 Minutes II” scandal drama “Truth,” with Cate Blanchett and Robert Redford, expanding nationwide added to a plague of empty theaters." -- You know..I think that moviegoers simply are reacting to the increase in ticket prices by theaters who have ended loaded the prices with sales taxes that use to be built in the costs..
