Online headline: "Sean Hannity fans call for Rachel Maddow boycott" -- What is this.. an out-of-sync April Fool's Day story? Surely this is a mainscream media "fake news" story, because I do not know of any Hannity fan who has or would watch Maddow... and like me, couldn't tell you for sure which network she's on, much less the time slot.

---
Online headline: "Democrats are pushing an unlikely source — Jerry Springer — to run for governor in Ohio" -- heh heh heh.. I guess this adage, with a bit of adjustment, fits well, "Any POT in a storm".  But you know, Springer would be an appropriate moderator for Ohio gubernatorial debates.. just think of the rating he'd get.. and the beratings the Republican candidate would get.

From the "Exodus 20:5 in the 21st Century" department - Online story: "Los Angeles police on Tuesday said they used spit collected from a sidewalk to tie a man to the sexual assault and murder of two women who vanished in 2011. * used a controversial DNA testing technique known as familial DNA testing to link the suspect, Geovanni Borjas, 32, to the murders of Michelle Lozano, 17, and Bree’Anna Guzman, 22,   * Familial DNA testing allowed investigators to compare forensic evidence from the victims to law enforcement databases to identify likely relatives of the person who may have committed the crime. The search resulted in a match to Borjas’ father, whose DNA was on file from a prior arrest, Beck said." -- Hmmm... No hock, Sherlock! ... Exodus 20:5 “You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me.”

Remember the item I posted yesterday about several properties being wrongfully carried as tax exempt or under assessed? Well,, I had to be at the Citizens Center, and ran into 2 different Coincilors who had just finished a "work session. and both were quick to let me know they had jumped on one of the items and the New York owner's property has been corrected already.. Seems that all the info has to be hand-inserted (and erroneously wasn't) currently but the new system will take care of that in the future. Of course, the new system will probably make getting mistakes taken care of an impossibility.. seems that we don't have anyone down there that knows how to correct computer mistakes.

---
From the "liberals have no clue" department - Online headline/story: "THE DEMOCRATIC CAMPAIGN FOR GEORGIA GOVERNOR IS BEING FOUGHT OVER FREE COLLEGE * TWO GEORGIA DEMOCRATS are running for the party’s nomination to seek the governor’s mansion in 2018: House Minority Leader Stacey Abrams and a member of her caucus, House Democrat Stacey Evans" -- Seems the future of "HOPE/Zell Miller Scholarships" is the focus of the "free college" conflict.. One is for the current status, and the other wants to limit such to lower income families.. The rub is that there is no such thing as a "free college" program.. The GA Lottery makes it's revenue off the backs of lower income families, and harder working families pay for the welfare programs most lottery players are on since they spent their cash on lottery tickets rather than on food or saving for their children's college fund.

---
In mid-March, the L-E reported that more cars than in the whole year of 2016 had been in a crash so far in Columbus in 2017. Anybody know how many have been involved in crashes since then? I doubted the info then. but.. BUT with the influx of Atlanta lawyer ads since has made me reconsider...

---
Uber-LIV's L-E "soundoff": " For every person who thought it was OK for a politician to assault a reporter, you have sold your soul." -- Hmmm.. and how about defending oneself when a reporter grabs one's wrist to begin the process?

What is it with taxing authorities in Columbus.. neither the City nor the MCSD seem to feel having a sufficient "Fund Balance" nor a proper "Maintenance Budget" are  good business practices..

"What a difference a day makes"... is an oft heard adage in the past.. Now from the "what a difference a president with leadership skills makes" department - L-E headline: "Consumer spending, incomes grew solidly in April". --  yet not one mention.. nor any credit.. of Trump's invigoration!

HuffPOOPOO headline: "The internet is buzzing about the mystery red lights seen in the White House" -- Good grief.. I'd have thought that the Internet would be "knowing" that Putin was calling Trump..,these people are sickos!

---
Merkel said Europe must stick together since it can no longer rely on others..Why didn't she say that Europe needs to conform to its contracts to support NATO obligations? And doesn't Merkel remember when Obama had her phones tapped?

---
A lawsuit filed by the mother of an American killed at Benghazi against Hellary was recently thrown out by a federal judge.. later, we learned that the Judge was appointed by Bill Clinton..doesn't common sense scream that the judge should have automatically..immediately..recused himself?

---
Isn't it nice to have a president who respects those who have given their lives to defend our freedom, and AND who respects our soldiers who are currently defending our freedoms!

---
Tiger Woods was arrested for DUI in FL around 3:00 AM yesterday., and released about 10:50 AM later that morning.. Hmmm.. DUI in the morning.. ..  and this may possibly explain his erratic driving off the tee on golf courses in early rounds before he pulled himself out of tournaments recently.

---
You know, the more "test" missiles N. Korea fires, the less actual missiles N. Korea has to arm with warheads.. But, if I was the Defense Minister in S. Korea, or Japan, or Russia, of China or even the Philippines, I do believe I'd go on record and say I must now assume that any test missile  may be equipped with such, and I'd consider it an act of war if a N. Korean missile crossed it's borders in any direction... and I'd be ready to take it down and reciprocate at Kim Jong Oooops' compound.

---
A Princeton professor melted down in a speech and went into a tirade about Trump being a "racist, sexist megalomaniac". You know, I find that when someone has a "bully pulpit" and a microphone,  and his target is not there to defend himself, the "ranter" is actually more of what he calls his target than the subject of his attack.

---
It's amazing at how local folks don't seem to understand the effect on the cost of their own healthcare when Columbus Regional doesn't get reimbursed by Phenix City when Columbus Regional takes care of their emergency indigents. I guess these same people would think it "OK" if Columbus' Fire Department couldn't answer a call to their home fire if the CFD was busy putting out a fire in Phenix City.

Does anyone know why Columbus Regional doesn't have a working contract/agreement with the Phenix City/Russell County, AL governments to provide emergency/trauma care for its citizens?

---
Hey, Columbus taxpayers: Remember Mayor Tom-LYING-son's assault on our property tax freeze? She said it was costing us in our appeal to new buyers and in attracting out-of-town businesses and other nonsense? Well, I came across an address.. 3100 Bellanca St.. and the owner's mailing address is in Ticonderoga, NY but still has a property tax freeze/property exemption.. Property tax revenues should be higher than the City is receiving, but they aren't because of poor record monitoring or updating non-exempt assessments..

Or another home with H1 exemption even though the owner has moved to Henry County, has remarried, yet lets his "ex" live in the old house here.. How does this qualify as his main residence?

Oh, and then there are sweetheart deals.. how about a home bought for $725,000.00 being assessed for only $557,000.00? It happens under Mayor Tom-LYING-son's watch.. oh, and how about commercial property at 1510 6th Ave.. with out-of-town ownership.. with over 65,000 square feet.. being assessed for 'only' $1,031,787.00 and paying 'only' $3,884.06 in property taxes?

HuffPOOPOO "headLIE": President Trump acted like a 'drunk tourist' during first foreign trip: report" -- First, President Trump does not imbibe with alcohol, but the worst thing is how mainscream media has lost its standing as "credible" and "honorable" by its tabloid approach to reporting..

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "The internet is buzzing about the mystery red lights seen in the White House" -- Good greif.. don't tell me the HuffPOOPOO, of all of mainscream media, did not presume it was the "Red Hotline for a call from Putin...

---
Have you gotten tired of these fake polls mainscream media is ballyhooing about Trump's time in office.. they have one thing in common.. all "say" Trump is a "loser". Let me ask mainscream media,, where were all your poll responders last November when the election was being decided, and the citizens/voters of 30 states picked Trump over Hellary?

---
Another HuffPOOPOO "story": "President Donald Trump may be planning to reverse another major accomplishment of former President Barack Obama. * the Trump administration is working on announcing plans to rollback President Obama's policies toward Cuba come June." -- To begin with, the only majot accomplishment of the Obama Administration was destroying Hellary's taking over chances. Besides, none of Obama's Cuban policies should have come to fruition to begin with because Cuba never complied with the human rights improvements.

---
L-E headline: "What lessons come from the failure of MCSD’s Camelot Education plan?" -- I hope the first lesson learned is that Dr Lewis will develop workable solutions to problems from within the MCSD.. Pawning off troubles to outside organizations does not improve the working knowledge on how to handle the situation in the future, nor guarantee that the best interests of all students will be the focus.

Monday, May 29, 2017

Let's not forget today.. all day, is Memorial Day. Be respectful.. and reverent as we honor the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice to defend our country and it's belief in freedom.

---
Only liberals can find a way to denigrate patriotism and love of country and freedom.. liberals label everything they can to segment..to divide.. the nation as a whole.. all I see are the tombstones of Americans willing to put their lives on the line for the ideals of our Forefathers.. Of course, we don't see a single tombstone highlighted with either a "Liberal-American" or "Editorial Cartoonist-American".

---
From the "mainscream media would find a way to knock Trump if he saved a baby from an attacking pit bull by saying Trump was cruel to a dog" department - HuffPOOPOO "headLIE"/video: "Emmanuel Macron appears to swerve Trump's handshake at NATO to hug Angela Merkel instead" -- Good grief.. Macron did what any civil gentleman would do under the circumstance.. The circumstance being meetin a group of "equals" and one is a woman.. a civil man first honors the woman, then others..Watch this video"
https://www.aol.com/article/news/2017/05/26/emmanuel-macron-appears-swerve-trump-handshake-nato-hug-angela-merkel/22111118/

---
It's gone too far.. This is what happens when a lie gets told so often that it seems to become the truth.. Trump's Executive Order to block refugees/travelers  from 6 dysfunctional countries is not a "travel ban".. it's a ban from entering only the USA..and after recent cowardly attacks on women/children in Manchester, Christians in Egypt, and the LGBTQ's in Orlando, I'd say Trump is RIGHT.

---
Hellary is going to get a job at Wellesley? As what, a revisionist history professor? Did you hear her talk about Nixon's " impeachment"? She made that up..Nixon was never impeached..he resigned rather than subject the office of the president to such angst..of course, she didn't mention her husband's actual impeachment nor his failure to save/preserve the dignity of the Oval Office.

---
You know, if I was Trump or worked on his staff, and was responsible for setting up communications with various major governments in the post election atmosphere where the previous administration's appointees controlled the State and National Security Departments, I, too, would want communications between the new president-elect and world leaders to have a direct communication avenue that bypassed the "leaky" atmosphere of Obama's minions. Events have proven Trump's philosophy were "right on".

---
Wow.. Greg Allman was younger than me...

---
When street thugs shoot other street thugs here in Columbus, GA.. do they just think they will probably get away with it like most do in Chicago either by police overload, DA ineptness, or witness/jury apathy?

---
Uber-LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Singleness of purpose -  The motivation for Republicans to repeal Obamacare is to give the super wealthy a nearly $1 trillion tax reduction. About this goal the Republicans are unified." -- Good grief.. how do we fight ignorance when liberals are in charge of our education system and mainscream media?

---
Those ubiquitous "Together 2017" ads.. now they are showing up as "pop up" ads on Internet news stories, as well as daily in the L-E.. Somebody has suggested that the L-E is running them for free, but we all know that the L-E is not on good enough financial grounds to afford such generosity, so I ask again.. who is paying or these ads, and how much has been spent on them? Seems to me, a lot more public good could be accomplished if just the money spent on ads was spent on community projects..as opposed of saving the L-E from extinction..

---
Trump calls his first overseas trip a "home run".. Yes!  but, mainscream media will report it as a "run home"..

---
You know Advanced Disposal could "clean up" its own backyard... and image.. with some fence screening at its Veterans Parkway business site.. it certainly is not a pretty sight to ride by. In fact, a lot of businesses along the heavily traveled Veterans Parkway could help with Columbus' image to tourist and passers-through by tidying up their sites,, and getting rid of all the barbed wire..and razor wire.. would be a great first step.
What must tourists.. and even business scouts looking over Columbus really think about our crime situation.

---
You know.. even George Will does not ask the consummate question.. How does a non-resident,, one who lives and is registered to vote in another Congressional District, be allowed to run in another District?

---
While I generally move on once I glance at any Leonard Pitts commentary headline, I did have the curiosity to read the first two paragraphs of his  Siunday's piece..L-E commentary headline/content: "Right-wing intolerance for inconvenient facts * BY LEONARD PITTS JR. * Miami Herald * Some people will call it surprising that a reporter was reportedly assaulted Wednesday night by a political candidate. Truth is, it is not surprising in the least. * For those who hadn’t heard: Greg Gianforte, a Montana Republican running for Congress, was charged with misdemeanor assault for allegedly body-slamming Ben Jacobs, who works for the British newspaper The Guardian, hard enough to break his glasses. This, because Jacobs tried to ask for Gianforte’s opinion of the GOP health care bill in the wake of an estimate from the Congressional Budget Office that it would leave 23 million Americans without health care." -- Well, suggesting that a British reporter's question started the eventual results is what Leonard "the Pitts" does best.. leave out pertinent detail.. Pitts conveniently (as it supported his biases) tap-danced around the fact that said "reporter" grabbed Gianforte by his wrist.. an assault condition in all 50 US states.. but that's what Pitts does to get his writings into liberal tabloids.

Last week, I was in Atlanta and drove most of the length if Peachtree from downtown to Oglethorpe University. Yesterday, I drove up 2nd Ave from 12th Street to Manchester Expressway. Peachtree in Atlanta is in a lot better shape than 2nd Ave in Columbus...and don't think every business visitor to Columbus doesn't notice this. And when you think about it more, it doesn't even seem probable.. much less possible..

---
Saw retired WTVM9 newscaster Dick McMichael doing an ad for Beltone hearing aids..He said he's no longer missing so much of what he hears people say. I guess that means he might start hearing what politicians say...and stop voting for Democrats.

---
I've tried to stop at McDonald's for my favorite "Big Mac", but after verbal exchanges with John Pezold, finally outgoing GA District 133 Rep, I cannot pull through the drive-thru without imagining a "double Whopper" so I usually end up at Burger King, but yesterday, I wanted fish and McDonald's "Pick 2" for $5 bucks "lured" me in. Didn't see the Pick 2 menu, but ordered it anyway, but the girl barked back that the "Pick 2" menu had been discontinued, and two fish sandwiches would be $7.58 plus taxes.. just said, "no thanks," and drove over to BK and ordered a "double John Pezold".

---
Online headline: "Report: Manchester Suicide Bomber Used Student Loan And Benefits To Fund Terror Plot" -- Hmmm.. wonder how much in student loans foreign students have in our country?

---
Crime is escalating.. again.. and 3 of the worst neighborhoods produce chances of being a victim of violent crime between 1-in-less-than-10 in Memphis, TN and  Kansas City, MO, and Chicago. Imagine just walking around on the streets where you live with 9 other people KNOWING there's a good chance one of you will be going to a hospital..or  morgue..

From the "why does the L-E hire employees that know nothing about how our government operates" department - L-E headline/"story": "Bad sewer pipes turning South Lumpkin Road red *  Drive out South Lumpkin Road and you might wonder what happened to the nicely paved road now covered by Georgia red clay. Along with the work, the two lanes of traffic have been reduced to one as crews replace about 2.5 miles of failed 30-inch sewer pipe from Fort Benning to the South Columbus Water Resource Facility in Columbus. *  Work is underway, possibly through the end of June to replace the sewer pipe and avoid a major failure in the line due to excessive corrosion, said Vic Burchfield, vice president of Information, Security & Environmental Services. The last of the old pipes were removed Thursday, and the main work left is to repave the road. *  The Water Works was forced to dig up the corroded pipe after only eight years of service and replace it with high-density polyethylene pipe, which shouldn’t face the same problems in the wastewater environment. *  Almost $5.1 million have been spent on the project so far, and it will take another $400,000 to complete the paving, Burchfield said. Columbus residents aren’t footing the bill because the line serves Fort Benning, " -- "Columbus residents aren’t footing the bill because the line serves Fort Benning"? And people wonder why, I call him "Hasn't Ever Ben Wright"... who does "Hasn't Ever Ben Wright" "feel" Ft Benning gets it's funding from...Now, what company sold that pipe for construction, and hasn't the L-E identified the contractor, supplier, and pipe manufacturer?

---
L-E story: "Phenix City police are investigating an alleged block party shooting after 12 people were taken to Midtown Medical Center for gunshot wounds and other injuries." -- 12 shooting victims? Dang, the most victims in a single event in Chicago this year has been "only" 10.. Wonder if Chicago street thugs will try to top this? Now, the big question is why the Phenix City victims were taken to Columbus rather than a Phenix City facility....

---

You know.. no matter how often Hellary "throws" her "victim" or "woman" card out onto the table, she always gets "TRUMPed"

Saturday, May 27, 2017

From the liberals have their gender-neutral panties in a wad" department - Online story: "Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has declined a request to host an event to mark Islam's holy month of Ramadan, two U.S. officials said, apparently breaking with a bipartisan tradition in place with few exceptions for nearly 20 years." -- Hmmm... under the recent jihad circumstances, this is appropriate.. of course mainscream media had no issue in 2009 when Obama distanced himself from the National Day of Prayer by nixing a formal early morning service and not attending a large Catholic prayer breakfast the next morning..

---
HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Mayor Bill de Blasio staffer faces charges of child pornography  * The 29-year-old computer programmer analyst was charged with "promoting a sexual performance by a child and possessing a sexual performance by a child under 16," both of which are felonies, notes the Washington Times. * The NY Post also reports the illicit content on (29 year old Jacob) Schwartz's computer allegedly included 3,000 images and 89 videos. *  According to court documents they showed, "young nude females between the approximate ages of 6 months and 16, engaging in sexual conduct...on an adult male." * His lawyer is quoted by the New York Daily News as saying, "If the alleged actions are true, it really seems like a product of someone with a psychological problem calling out for help, not to evade the law. *  Schwartz works with the Department of Design and Construction *  He's also the president of the Manhattan Young Democrats, and founded a climate education nonprofit called Common Climate." -- "seems like...someone with a psychological problem"? In a word.. SICK! Seems like! What it  "seems" like is the "climate" just got hotter for the Democratic Party's claims that we should be accepting of alternative diversity!

---
More about that "partnership" Columbus Regional is entering into with Piedmont... seems it's not just an idea that "materialized" by coincidence.. Piedmont has done "the deal" with Athens as well.. did the Columbus L-E or Council even know this and look at what has gone on in Athens?

---
Did you see VP Mike Pence addressing the US Naval Academy graduates? What a relief it is to know Pence is next in line if something happens to President Trump..compare this...shudder.. to thinking about Veep Bleep Biden stepping into the Oval Office had something happened to President Obama. Shudder even more if the line of succession were Kaine following Hellary!

---
Did you hear Pence mention the "Global War On Terror"...a.k.a. GWOT.. America is back! Obama actually squashed the use of that phrase.

---
28 Christians dead as we speak, and more likely to die from the wounded in Egypt by Islamic jihadists. While it's "nice" that Muslim leaders are "condemning" such actions, I want to know WHAT THE MUSLIM LEADERS ARE DOING ABOUT IT!

---
Did you hear Hellary tell Wellesley College grad students she feels there should be "open fact debates"?  I guess she meant for those not above the law like she is.. Let's get her involved in some "open fact debates" about Benghazi, her Foundations, her Wall Street speeches, her husbands "bimbo eruptions", the Whitewater files, Vince Foster, e-mail-gate.. Abedin's husband/Weiner's wife, and whether of not she knows how to bake cookies..

Of course, my favorite line she ranted was aimed at Trump's budget figures, but she hit herself right between her eyes... " “Let’s call it what it is. It’s a con.”" -- Yeah,, she just described her whole career.. if that's what you can call her life journey.

---
L-E headline: "Very cool! Great Wolf Lodge Georgia is drawing closer in LaGrange" -- Hmmm.. how come we got "Whitewater and Ziplines and Lagrange hit the lottery?

---
Online headline: "Polling locations changed ahead of 6th District election" -- Hmmm.. guess the Dems need a polling place in another District where Ossoff lives and is registered.. Excuse me.. it bothers me that anybody can run in a District where he doesn't live, nor can be registered to vote..heck.. how does he even get to vote for himself?

---
L-E "headlie/"story": "Here’s why the L-E ran the name and photo of Vardman * We have no agenda here. The newspaper exists to bring facts to the light of day." -- Good grief.. non-stories or half-truth stories about the mayor's and school board/superintendent actions/non-actions belie any claim the-at the L-E "exists to bring facts to the light of day?! And when you get down to the bottom-line, the L-E published the photo/name in hopes of getting more readers to report to corporate HQ.

---
L-E headline/story: "Zuckerberg gives Harvard graduation speech  *  Facebook’s CEO returned to Harvard on Thursday, telling graduates that it is up to their generation to create a purpose for today’s world, to care about others, to fight inequality and strengthen the global community." "to create a purpose for today's world"? Good grief. 6uckerberg has "created" chaos and self destruction and undermined the order of social worth with his creation.. What grads need is to emulated, and carry forth the values of "the greatest generation".

---
L-E story: "Khizr Khan, the Gold Star father who became a national celebrity after speaking at last year’s Democratic National Convention, has a book planned for young readers. Khan’s “This Is Our Constitution” comes out Nov. 14" -- "This is our Constitution"? I believe Khan better define "we", because all the "we's" I know already have "The Constitution".. it's the one our Founding Fathers created. nurtured, and passed on to .. and for.. the best future for America.

From the "did you know" department - Herman Wouk is alive! Today is his 102nd birthday..Wouk won a Pulitizer Prize in 1951 for "The Caine Mutiny", but his "Winds of War" is what I remember him for best.. Wouk's research for detail had him bring to light, Arminius.. the German warrior who defeated Caesar in the early years of the 1st Century A.D., and is credited to thwarting Caesar from taking over Europe.. A few year back, I remember when artifacts from that battle were discovered/uncovered. Arminius  is an nearly.. if not the earliest known connection with my Armentrout ancestry.

L-E story: "A federal judge has tossed out two life sentences for D.C. sniper Lee Boyd Malvo and ordered Virginia courts to hold new sentencing hearings. * In a ruling issued Friday, U.S. District Judge Raymond Jackson in Norfolk said Malvo is entitled to new sentencing hearings after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that mandatory life sentences for juveniles are unconstitutional." -- Good grief! I do not think any judge nor jury gave Malvo 2 Life Sentences because :they were mandatory", they were give because it;s JUSTICE since they couldn't execute him because of his age! Fortunately, the Fairfax County (VA)  Commonwealth’s Attorney is already on the record to go after another life sentence.

---
L-E headline/story: "FCC: No punishment for Colbert’s joke about Trump * There will be no fine for Stephen Colbert’s risque joke about President Donald Trump. * A Federal Communications Commission spokesman said Tuesday that the agency received “thousands” of complaints about the late-night host’s May 1 show, so it reviewed the material as “standard operating procedure.” * The agency found that the joke, which involved Trump, Russian leader Vladimir Putin and a crude word for penis, did not warrant punishment." -- Good grief..does the FCC mean that if Colbert used the words "Penis Holster" instead of "Cock Holster" the FCC might have been offended?  If the FCC was not offend by this, "“You talk like a sign-language gorilla that got hit in the head. In fact, the only thing your mouth is good for is being Vladimir Putin’s cock holster.” intentionally voiced over the public airways, then neither Facebook nor the L-E cannot censor it either. Personally I'm embarrassed that the FCC head that Trump inherited has no common decency, and I hope Trump replaces him as soon as he gets back into the USA. I'm actually embarrassed to actually cite Colbert's complete comment in my blog, but sometimes, you just have to bring wrongs to light with a sledgehammer.

Online headline/story: "Tourism in the US has drastically declined since Trump was elected" -- Hmmm.. and especially from the Mid-East and Central/South America...Only liberals would label terrorists and drug dealers "tourists".

---
Good grief.. Ben & Jerry's is banning cones with two scoops of "the same flavor" in it's campaign for "marriage equality" in Australia.. Huh? ..this sorta sounds "backarsewards" if you think about it.. Two men or two women represent "two like flavor scoops" more than marriages between men and women.

---
Sooner or later there had to be a "list" of the "15 worst  careers if you want to pay off your college debt", and now it's out..as you probably suspect, most are "snowflake" oriented in people/social services.. but the list leaves off the #1 worst job to pay off your college debt... being a protester at a $15.00 per hour minimum wage rally at a fast food outlet!

---
Online headline/story: "Federal appeals court upholds nationwide block on Trump's travel ban *  A majority of judges on the appeals court in a 10-3 decision said they were "unconvinced" the travel order had more to do with national security concerns than a "Muslim ban." * Trump's March 6 travel ban targets six Muslim-majority nations -- Libya, Iran, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. The order barred people from those countries for 90 days." -- Hmmm.. I wonder if anyone has injected the fact that in these countries,Christians are purged and subject for genocide measures by the culture of Islam?  No wonder they are predominantly Muslim...

---
Online headline: "Milwaukee middle school brawl: Five injured, three arrested after fight * Five people were hurt during a fight between several students at Webster Middle School near 53rd and Green Tree, officials with the Milwaukee Fire Department said. *  A Milwaukee Public Schools spokesman issued this statement to FOX6 News: "MPS is working with the Milwaukee Police Department to investigate a situation that occurred at Webster. Students who were involved face both district disciplinary and potential legal consequences. * “This type of behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated." -- "This type of behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated." ? Good grief.. it's only BECAUSE this type of behavior has been accepted TOO LONG that it has escalated to this point!

---
Oh! Remember the Montana Republican candidate "accused" of "body slamming" a mainscream reporter just hours before the polls opened for that "Special Election"? Well, he whipped his Democrat opponent by 24,000 votes!  Maybe this is what it is going to take to get mainscream media reporting fairly, rather than making up, the news about Republicans in the future.

---
Online headline: "(GA) Minority House Leader Stacey Abrams: ‘I believe in government’" -- ...believe in government.... what? Government control of every aspect of life? Government intervention in majority rule? Government control of Freedom of Speech? Government control of the rights of others? Yeah, I can believe Stacy Abrams believes in government, but she believes in the government designed by Lenin, not the government designed by our Founding Fathers.

---
Online story: "An ad unleashed Thursday by the Congressional Leadership Fund takes aim at Democrat Jon Ossoff’s military credentials just ahead of the holiday break. *  “Ossoff is a liberal. And immature. And he lied to us about his national security experience,” *  Politifact Georgia found no evidence he exaggerated his resume, though it said he left out “relevant context” about his experience." "left out RELEVANT CONTEXT about his experience"?  I do believe that is what is known as a "half truth", and we all know that the "half truth" is the Blackest of all lies".

You know, I still don't understand.. comprehend.. how a candidate can run for a Congressional District Office and have no resident in that district.

---
Since Mark Cantrell is on record for thinking $220,000.00 is too much to spend on new electronics for the MCSB board room...and I agree..but does Mark Cantrell agree with me that spending $312.00 per square foot ($750,000 per building) on a 2,400 sg ft metal/slab constructed buildings  for wrestling and weight rooms is way too much?

Oh, how about a revote on spending over $900,000.00 on 50 +/- parking spaces at Columbus High?

---
L-E headline/story: "Columbus jobless rate improves in April but is still near bottom of state * Columbus still has one of the highest unemployment rates in the state, however, with it only better than Albany’s 5.6 percent. " -- Boy, if I hadn't gotten on Queen Tom-LYING-son's band wagon before, I'm surely not going to WISH HER ON  the rest of GA citizenry for a state/federal job! What's missing in this story is that Macon is in the bottom 3 with Columbus and Albany which are all in Congressman Bishop's District 2.

---
On target L-E "soundoff": "Odd budget priorities: The city can’t afford to hire enough paramedics, but it can build a roundabout to service a parking garage, a pedestrian bridge and two dead-end streets." -- Oh, and let's not forget the Queen TT Lounge on the RiverWalk, the dog runs, the Dragonfly Trail, narrowing of car lanes on 13th Street, the AquaCenter, the Whitewater and ZipLine "investments" , or the City Manager's raise and PPV Dodge Charger..

---

L-E headline: "Columbus Council considers hiring full-time Recorder’s Court judge" -- Excuse me, but why, after years of the current setup being satisfactory, do we "need" a higher salaried, full time Recorder's Court judge? There's only one acceptable condition Council should consider this move... if it will ELIMINATE part time judges, and reduce overall salary/benefits drain on the budget.

Online headline/story: "Was Ariana Grande targeted? Former Jihadist says ISIS saw show as 'perverted PR opportunity' * Ariana Grande sold-out Manchester Arena show may have specifically targeted by ISIS because of the singer's self-assurance and sexy, proudly feminine style, everything the terrorist organization despises. *  "To hit a den of immorality, as ISIS acolytes are calling it, it's a great target for them," he said. "Ariana Grande is a big name brand; the media will descend on it. Children being killed will get coverage, and that emotional reaction. So, all these things are hitting at the same time at the same place." -- "perverted PR opportunity"? Hmmm.. the Islamic jihadist (_*_) was from Libya.. Where have we recently heard the name Libya... Oh! It's one of the 6 countries Trump wants to ban "refugees" entry from.. How about that.. Hey liberals, it could have been at a Katy Perry California or New York concert just as easy

---
Online headline/story: "Montana Republican congressional candidate allegedly assaults newspaper reporter * Jacobs told MSNBC's Chris Hayes that he was trying to ask Gianforte about the CBO score when "the next thing I know, I'm being body-slammed." -- Well, at least one mainscream eporter "feels" what mainscream reporter does to Trump every day.. Now, all we have for an "ear witness" as to what the question Jacobs asked Gianforte is Jacobs himself... fake news?

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Democratic Sen. Al Franken says he won't run for president against Trump come 2020" -- Dang! Now who will the Democrats put up since their best.. well most representative of Democrat candidates has bowed out? Heck, he could have even played himself in SNL skits/spoofs.

---
Nancy Pelosi said Trump's budget takes 100s of billions of dollars away from job creating programs..wait a minute, what in the heck does Pelosi even know about creating a non-government job?

---
Random Thought: "Big Brother" is.. well, BIG BROTHER! Was making a copy of my bride's Passport for her to carry while on a mission trip incase her real one is lost/stolen/etc and she needs the information to get help. I noticed this on the last page: "This document contains sensitive electronics. For best performance, do not bend, perforate or expose to extreme temperatures." I guess you could go to a country that doesn't have a reciprocal extradition status with the US, but the US will know where you're are...

---
Mainscream media went out of it's way to point out, maybe even make-up.. ways Poop Francis snubbed President Trump..I saw online headlines with "stern", "cold", and "rushed him out" describing their meeting. You know, Trump was cordial in his manner and words in spite of previous comments that have earned the Pope his "Poop Francis" moniker in this blog. Catholics should be outraged if Poop Francis was half as disrespectful to our president as mainscream media reported.

---
On Fox yesterday, Herman Cain nailed the Democratic Party disrespect for its minority base...the DNC belittles their ability to make personal decisions, and take action to become independent of the Democratic Party.

Do Democratic Party supporters really understand how the Democrats have basically "dissed" them and created a segregated society within their ranks?

---
Whiney L-E headline: "Women CEOs earn big pay, but few get to that level" -- DOH! Few men get to that level as well...

---
L-E headline/story: "a majority of the board also blocked, with a 3-4-2 vote, Lewis’ request to approve a contract with Atlanta-based Unified AV Systems for as much as $220,894.87 to upgrade the audio-visual technology in the board’s public meeting room at the 8-year-old Muscogee County Public Education Center. * Cantrell started the inquiry with this declaration: “$220,000 is the cost to build a home. That seems like a lot of money for audio-visual equipment." -- Good grief.. How would 6 cameras enhance recording better than 2? I mean, what are the 4 extra ones going to be focused on.. catching board members picking their noses? Of course, why is an out-of-town supplier being recommended.. I'm sure the MCSD could initiate (rather that just post a bid date) contact with local electronics sores/specialists and get more than adequate service.

---
Even the RINOs don't like Trump's budget proposal.. we can't blame all the waste on Democrats.. the majority.. but not all.. What "WE" need to work on is helping voters in RINO districts get rid of them in the next GOP primaries...

---
Do you think that McClatchy caught the number of subscriptions the L-E had in 1990? About 55,000 as I recall...and current subscriptions are in the 20,000 range.. if the L-E is not making up "fake news".

You know, I pretty much recall that Columbus today has between 55,000 and 65,000 (depending on which City official is right).. and with "most" households having at least 2 readers, the L-E use to be a reliable sour ce of info/news in Columbus.. using the reduction in subscriptions as a measurer, the L-E is fading away... and, alas... without much dignity

L-E headline: "Food stamp cuts could ripple through the economy" -- Yes.. in a positive manner.. the less taxes needed to staff and distribute such will stay in small businesses' pockets, and create jobs so that people can buy their own groceries...with CASH!

Wednesday, May 24, 2017

The proposed budget submitted by President Trump is $4,000,000,000,000.00.  With a population of 300,000,000 million people, that's  13,333.00 per person being spent.. I'm starting off with this figure to give perspective to the cost of a new cancer drug (Keytruda) that "targets" tumors, and was just approved by the FDA that would cost $150,000.00 (or about $108,000.00 if you use a "GoodRX" coupon) for one person for one year...but it's not covered by any government healthcare program. You know, what good is medicine that most people, or their private insurance companies, cannot afford . The sadder thing is that history shows us that once a med hits the market, and even though the development costs were calculated into the price, the price will escalate annually at way above inflationary influences, while the costs will remain pretty much level or even decrease.

From the "is this a Democratic Party grandstand move, or something they should be held accountable for in allowing an IRS employee take the 5th" department - HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "US Senate panel says it will subpoena Michael Flynn businesses * "While we disagree with General Flynn's lawyers' interpretation of taking the Fifth ... it's even more clear that a business does not have a right to take the Fifth," the panel's vice chairman, Democratic Senator Mark Warner " -- Remember Lois Lerner.. the IRS department head that denied conservative Tea Party organizations from getting their 501 (c) 3 status approved? The same Lois Lerner who plead "the 5th" to the Congressional Investigative Committee? The Lois Lerner who then "retired" and is drawing a 6-figure pension the rest of her life? Well, do you remember Senator Mark Warner subpoenaing IRS for HER files and correspondences? Let's impeach Senator Warner for malfeasance!

Has anyone heard if Council has addressed.. even acknowledged.. the move by Columbus Regional to partner with Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta? Since Council authorizes 3-mils of our property taxes to Columbus Regional, and can no longer be assured that this money will be restricted to paying for indigent Columbus patients, Council should review,, even put any future payments on hold until it can get Audit approval of the CR-PH books.

Online headline: "3 men arrested in Manchester bomb investigation, UK police say" -- Hmm.. I guess the 4th one was scraped off the floor.. the ceiling, the walls, and a few bodies..

---
Online story: "BANDA ACEH, Indonesia (Reuters) - Religious police in Indonesia caned two men for gay sex on Tuesday, with hooded men inflicting 82 lashes on each of them as hundreds of people watched the punishment ordered by an Islamic court. * Cheers and applause went up from a crowd gathered outside a mosque in the city of Banda Aceh, capital of the conservative province of Aceh, as the masked men took turns to flog the pair on a raised platform." -- Whoa.. maybe libs should reconsider their hatred for Trump.. These are Islamic religious leaders, not even the Islamic jihadists that we call RCS (aRe Chicken S***) (and formerly known as ISIS). And the Indonesia was never one of the countries Trump wants banned from having anyone from one of them banned entry into our country.

---
Online headline: "NYC's De Blasio: 'Children Will Die' Because of Trump's Budget" -- Well, children all over died before and after OObamaCRAP went into effect..and.., and children die in NYC.. and Chicago.. just for existing in an environment where the Mayor's handcuff police procedures on the street.

---
Online headline: "Uber admits stiffing NYC drivers by tens of millions of dollars" -- Hey,, this is the company that soon-to-be ex-GA District 133 Representative Pezold wanted to let operate without collecting  sales taxes,, and then we learned that MCDonald's had inked a deal for Uber to deliver food for them...

---
You know.. charity begins in the heart of conservatives, while liberals believe it starts in the wallets of other people.

---
There are differences in what true charity is..the main difference is whether it's a one-time "need" for a hand-up, or whether it's simply "want" for a daily hand-out.

---
It's sad to see liberalism so widely preached on too many college campuses. Students should be learning to make the most out of their college education so that they can support charities later on, not become drains on them.

---
You know..it's amazing...well, more like pathetic, that while world leaders recognize that Trump IS making America Great Again, while our mainscream media tries it's best to deny and undermine it.

---
Further tales of the Courthouse saga of jury week would not be complete with out mentioning the Jury Room on first floor must have been a Dr's Office at one time..In the only pile of magazines I thumbed through I found issues back to 2008.

---
Wonder if Mayor Tom-LYING-son considered the plight of drivers trying to back their cars out of curbside parking spaces on 13th Street during rush hours when cars are stalled bumper-to-bumper getting to work or home?

---
Projects like reducing car lanes on busy thoroughfares to increase room for bicycles and pedestrians to make shopping easier could be described as "thinking outside the box", but.. BUT it's more like "feeling" without thinking about the consequences.. I guess it's better described as "feeling-outside-the-reality".

---
From the "this university should have it's credentials evoked" department - Online headline: "Notre Dame Snowflake Brigade: Pence Made Us Feel ‘Unwelcome, Uncomfortable, and Even Unsafe’ -- Good grief.. if a university hasn't prepared all it's graduating students for Real World 101, then the university has failed all its grads.. and alumni. Steps should be taken to weed out the professors who most influenced the "snowflake" attitude.

L-E headline/story: "WebMD names Columbus as the town that may help cure Alzheimer’s *
Dr. Jonathan Liss, the center’s founder, launched the Columbus Memory Project in April with the full support of Mayor Teresa Tomlinson, who held a news conference for the announcement." -- Hmm... maybe Dr Liss can help Mayor Tom-LYING-son remember not to spend money on non-revenue producing projects, and to stay with the budget revenue streams provide.

Tuesday, May 23, 2017

Since I'm serving on jury duty this week..won't ..can't talk about cases, but I can tell you about the 2:00 lunch break elevator ride Monday. The cab stopped at the 6th Floor, and Mayor Tom-LYING-son squeezed in right in front of me.. I smiled, she looked trapped. She quickly turned around facing the door, asked over her shoulder if we were a jury..we murmured back yeah/yes. Then she loudly added, "Thank you for your service". No body responded in kind. She exited in haste and silence on the ground floor. Bet that was the longest 6 story ride she ever experienced..

---
While looking down from the 11th Floor of the Courthouse at the street below, I wondered to myself.. why hasn't Mayor Tom-LYING-son installed "roundabouts" at the intersections of 9th Street and 1st and 2nd Avenues.. she could even design them to handle the railroad tracks so traffic could keep moving even when the trains would be normally blocking all cars.

---
Online headline: "Brian Williams Claims Trump is Destroying the Public’s Faith in Media" -- Wit a minute! Williams... Brian Williams.. isn't this the former NBC anchor/reporter that was dumped from the NBC line-up and later situated at MSNBC where honesty  matters even less than at NBC?

---
Now Manchester, England.. 22 dead at a concert, another 59 +/- wounded after another cowardly suicide bombing at the gathering of teens. children, and civilian families. We've got to find a more fitting name than ISIS for these Islamic POS's.. how about "RCS"? After all, they "ARE Chicken S***"

From the "bet the WaPo choked on its own regurgitation" department - Online story: "President Donald Trump's first budget proposal will include creating and funding a program that will give six weeks of paid time off for mothers and fathers following the birth or adoption of a child, the Washington Post reported. * This expands on the previous paid parental leave proposal that Trump touted during the presidential campaign in that fathers and adoptive parents are also included, not just biological mothers." --  Bet the WaPo editor sought a barf bag after approving this story for print..

---
From the "Fred Sanford, "It's the big one Elizabeth, I'm coming to see you" department -- HuffPOOPOO story: "Fareed Zakaria had a positive reaction to President Trump's recent speech on Islam, even comparing it to a caliber reminiscent of former President Obama's speeches. * The CNN host said about the speech on Monday, it "was very carefully done, it was nuanced. It was frankly the kind of speech President Obama could have given." -- "kind of speech President Obama COULD have given"? Good grief, the key word is "COULD".  President Obama COULD have helped our nation... President Obama COULD have healed our nation.. but like Zakaria's comment says, Obama could, but WOULD not..

I've got to take a breath.. back to back non-negative stories by WaPo and CNN has me spinning

L-E headline/story: "Juvenile court judges seek raises *  A rise in juvenile crime in Muscogee County, along with unfunded state mandates, has prompted local juvenile judges to request a pay increase. * The judge’s salaries are applied pro rata across six counties of the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit. With the pay increases, Muscogee County’s contribution would decrease by 44 cents, from 97,933.94 to $97,933.45.
-- Hmmm.. here we go again.. that ":new Math" from Common Crap Curriculum.. when I was in school 97,933.94 minus 97,933.45 was 49...not 44.

AMC has closed the deal on buying Carmike, and is offering a specialized "kidspack" on Mon-Wed during the summer.. It includes a ticket, fruit pack, and drink for $4.00..but only at Peachtree. The L-E story does not mention the accompanying adult ticket prices, but if AMC really wants to make us grandparents happy, it will reduce the cost of kids' tickets at the regular movies. As it is. our "senior" tickets cost less than my 5 year-old granddaughter's tickets (other than during the "matinee window")

Was in Atlanta Friday on leg 1 of our celebration of graduation of my son-in-law from UGS School of Law.. Went shopping/lunching with my bride at Lenox.. As we walked through Macy's, I saw a display of Versace clothing.. all glittery and outlandish.... and all locked to display racks/stands. I thought to myself.. what's the message here.. I'm sure Macy's was concerned about shoplifting, but the message I got was thatif I bought them and wore them on the street, I'd probably get mugged.. or worse.. by someone wanting them for free.

From the "it's more than protecting the source" department - When the WaPo or NYT receive files/reports containing possible classified information from people from within the White House, why aren't WaPo and NYT executives criminally charged for printing such facts, and not reporting crimes against America?

---
James Comey "testifying" in public is a sham...and waste of taxpayer funds. We all know that Comey cannot disclose security info and will utilize the "I cannot discuss this in public"  option whenever he's asked a pertinent question about national security.

---
Mainscream media is pathetic! It blasts Trump over what it believes without any evidence, yet yawned when Clinton gave China our rocket technology which allowed China to build a nuclear able intercontinental ballistic missile.

---
From the "I think Dusty held this L-E "soundoff" back  from the term of Obama" department - LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Wouldn't it be nice "If our president advanced an agenda of health care, tax reform, immigration, and infrastructure improvement (read jobs) instead of examining, at taxpayers’ expense, an election he won, and quit impeding the FBI?" --  Good grief.. if Obama had done the things in 8 years that TRumo as done in 4 months, I'd have been praising Obama all along.

---
Interesting...the King of Saudi Arabia met Trump on the tarmac when Air Force 1 landed. The same king snubbed Obama just last year. Guess the King of Saudi Arabia understands that Trump is not on either an apology or "bowing" tour.

---
Online story: "Outraged Cincinnati cops received an apology from the mayor of the Ohio city after his office inadvertently issued a proclamation naming a day in honor of a cop killer. * Mayor John Cranley issued the apology Thursday, saying that the proclamation never should have been approved" -- One guess as to which party Cranley belongs.

---
Last Tuesday, my bride and I were uplifted when the son of the man who did our lawn work brought his dad by to see us.. He'd had a major stroke last year and has lost a lot of his left-side abilities. WE were overjoyed by the moment, and learned from the son he is expecting his first grandchild soon. We congratulated him and his soon to be .. again... great-grandfather. I told him.. grandchildren make us forgive our children for everything we went through with them.. they both laughed boisterously in agreement.

---
You know. our laws would have no standing without the Constitution..or without respect for our nation's flag..We went to graduation at the UGA School of Law Saturday, and could not understand why candidates for law school graduation, people who become entitled to represent other people in our courts/legal system,  would ignore and disrespect the singing of our national them. The Dean should have taken names and make then take American history courses over the summer before they get their diplomas.

Online headline/story: "Minnesota yearbook: Behead Trump * The 2017 edition of the yearbook included a section titled, “Trump 2k17-2k20? How do you feel about him?” And let’s just say I’m surprised the Secret Service hasn’t paid a courtesy call to the campus. * “I would like to behead him,” one student declared. “I do not like him.” * “I feel like Donald is very racist and sexist and doesn’t care to give people a chance before knowing them,” another student lamented. * “I don’t like the way he comes off, he seems really rude,” said yet another" -- You know, a North Carolina school recalled it's Yearbook because one Senior used a Trump quote, "Build the Wall" .  Let's face it, children are not so much failing in schools, liberal schools are failing our children!

---
HuffPOOPOO story: "The father of former FBI Director James Comey has publicly blasted President Trump, describing him as "nuts" and "really crazy." * According to the Bergen Record, 86-year-old J. Brien Comey said in a recent interview, "I never was crazy about Trump." -- "not crazy about Trump"? Oh.. and what would he have about Obama, who should have fired Comey, or Hellary, who may have done something worse to Comey if she;d been elected.. I don't fault Comey's dad for being upset, but unlike Comey's dad, I fault his son, not Trump, for creating the necessity for Trump to fire him.

SoapBox Moment: The disintegration of brick&mortar stores is a consumer driven phenomena that will eventually bite consumers on their backsides.. back in the 70s/80's consumers  sent retailers a harsh mesage.. they'd rather have cheaper prices than dependable service.  Stores learned that consumers felt that if it's not on sale this week, it will be next week". Stores learned to buy more private label (i.e. store brands) merchandise, mark it up higher to begin with, then cut the price 2 weeks later to "retail" and call it a "SALE". As a result, brands we trusted lost volume, and had to raise prices to cover volume losses. Eventually, popular brands priced themselves out of mainstream appeal, and a lot are now either "gone" or are bit-players. Now consumers are intrigued by feeling they are paying less for online shopping (yet even when not having to pay for state/city sales taxes, online merchants are learning to add more profit into the shipping costs).  Eventually, though, consumers will learn that fit, fabric quality, and colors cannot be as exact online as shopping in person.. Now it's "novel" to shop/return via online avenues, but it will become a "burden" as more and more online purchases fail to come up to expectations. Unfortunately, the stores consumers use to shop at may not be there in brick&mortar anymore.

---
Mainscream media is now trying to promote the cost of protecting Trump's family as being more than protecting Obama's family.. to begin with, Trump's family is bigger.. but, what mainscream media won't discuss/admit is that Trump's leadership will reduce the cost of overall taxes to all American families and hat all American families are going to be a lot better of with Trump in office versus Hellary continuing Obama's next term.

From the "misinformed liberals squeal in spite of reality" department - Online headline/story: "Trump’s first budget is coming, and the spending cuts are severe *  It looks like the Trump administration's first comprehensive budget for the coming year will contain major spending increases for defense and draconian cuts in domestic programs. * Details of the president's more than $4 trillion fiscal 2018 budget plan set for release on Tuesday began leaking out late last week. * According to an Office of Management and Budget fiscal 2018 budget plan spreadsheet obtained by Third Way on Friday, the administration will seek to eliminate the Social Service Block Grant, a $2 billion program that helps help low-income families; zero out $3 billion of heating assistance for the poor * The centerpiece of the budget will be Trump's call for a $54 billion increase in defense spending next year as a major down payment on the president's vow to expand and modernize the military and U.S. nuclear defenses. * The money would go in part to increase troop strength by 56,000, * Experts say Trump's proposed 2018 total defense baseline of $603 Billion  * Trump will request a total of $2.6 billion for border security, according to The New York Times, with most of that money going towards materials and planning to begin building a wall along the border with Mexico and related work that experts say could cost as much as $26 billion before it is completed." -- The domestic cut numbers look big, but in reality. most of those cuts pay salaries for political liberals...Let's parse this so liberals will actually see what's going on.. Let's take the $5,000,000,000.00 for Social Service Block Grant for the "poor".. If you deduct the norm for administrative and operational costs of 78%, then  $3,900,000,000 is spent leaving $1,100,000,000.. if "ONLY" 10 Million "poor" apply, then those 10,000,000 "poor" would get but $110.00 per person. Let's take the military budget next.. adding $54 Billion comes to about $180.00 per American citizen for the best defense in the world.. and the $2,600,000,000 for more border security come to about $87.00 per American citizen.. and what that will do is put a severe dent in drug trafficking and lost jobs for American citizens which benefit ALL American citizens.. ESPECIALLY the poor.

Oh! Anybody heard anything about what's happening with the Ralston situation?

Friday, I posted my assessment about the future of a grassroots movement on the CSU campus to set up a "food bank" for feeding college students,, All I can say today is the Reagan was right on the money when he said, "“It isn't so much that liberals are ignorant. It's just that they know so many things that aren't so.”..I drew up the highway for such a plan, and libs stepped out into the traffic and became the bugs on the fabled "windshield/bug" analogy.  To start with, such a movement would be considered a "charity", and unless it's a 501 (c) 3 approved one, no donations are deductible and no 501 (c) 3 charitable foundations can donate to such.. Next, where do "they" put a HQ and storage unit for such?   CSU could hardly do so for an "unofficial group". Next, who.where do you send donations.. CSU can't take such for an "unofficial group". Next. Who decides which students are more deserving than others; there are 8,000 +/- students at CSU. Next, with 8,000 students in the same boat, at $10.00 per student, that $80,000 per month, close to $1,000,000 in 12 months., Next, who is going to be accountable for distribution, accountability, and report such to IRS? Next, who is going to watch over the administrative group to make sure they are accountable? Next.. CSU takes it over, and administrative costs are part of the program, soon, administrative costs exceed the donations? Next, CSU would add a mandatory funding fee to the 8,000 students parents who are already paying for their children to go to CSU plus feeding them. Yes liberals, Reagan was right.. especially about you being ignorant of real world 101 FACTS.

L-E headline: "CRIME AND COURTS * Understanding gang law" -- Good grief.. this is "front page" worthy news? What's Monday's subject going to be, "Understanding Sharia Law"?

On a local issue.. I saw where there is a graduation ceremony set for Catapult Academy scheduled for the Civic Center in a few days.. Is Catapult Academy still using Edgewood School? And, are there really enough students enrolled in Catapult Academy's program to need/justify using the Civic Center for a graduation site?

From the "suspicions confirmed.. current jury system is a major part of the problem " department - L-E headline/story: "Facebook used to ID man who took laptop at gunpoint * The jury got stuck during deliberations, so Kendrick and Assistant District Attorney Chris Williams made a deal for Moss to plead guilty to robbery and being a convicted felon with a firearm" -- You know, when a defense lawyer let's his client take a plea bargain deal of "robbery and being a convicted felon with a firearm" while the jury is out and stuck on a decision, you have to ask what else the criminal is guilty of that the defense lawyer didn't want to come out..Of course, the important thing is why the jury was stuck when the criminal is still eager to admit to robbery and felony possession of a gun...

Two long time MCSD employees just retired. I got to know Melvin Blackwell when my girls attended Columbus High School. Blackwell was a good man who made parents and students feel good about him being in charge...future students.. and their parents will miss his contributions.. Didn't know Taunton so won't comment there..

L-E story: "The Chinese government systematically dismantled CIA spying operations in the country starting in 2010, killing or imprisoning more than a dozen sources over two years and crippling intelligence gathering there for years afterward * Current and former U.S. officials described the intelligence breach as one of the worst in decades * Years later, that debate remains unresolved. * But there was no disagreement about the damage. From the final weeks of 2010 through the end of 2012, according to former U.S. officials, the Chinese killed at least a dozen of the CIA’s sources. According to three of the officials, one was shot in front of his colleagues in the courtyard of a government building – a message to others who might have been working for the CIA. " -- Hmm.. right in the middle of Obama's first term and Hellary's stint as Secetary of State.. Hmmm.. right in the middle of Hellary's using an unprotected server in her home, and having Abedin and her husband, Weiner,  exchanging classified e-mails from the State Department. Hmmm.. hey, MAINSCREAM MEDIA, here's the story you should be in the middle of!

L-E headline/story: "Disruptive airline passenger duct-taped to his seat * Before he even boarded the plane, Anil Uskanil, a Turkish national, had been arrested by police at Los Angeles International Airport after a worker allegedly spotted him walking through a security door leading from the terminal to an airfield ramp shortly before 3 a.m Friday. * He was released after being charged with a misdemeanor, police said. The 25-year-old had been drinking, airport police explained in a statement, but wasn’t drunk. *  “He was very quiet, moving very sluggish,” passenger Grant Arakelian said, told the Associated Press. “He was trying to approach the cabin, like where the captain is.” * A flight attendant ran down the aisle with a beverage cart, using it to block Uskanil from the front of the plane. * “She jammed the cart in the doorway and she just said, ‘You’re not coming in here,’ ” passenger Lee Lorenzen told AP." -- Let me get this right.. a Turkish nationalist was captured by TSA AFTER he had breeched a Security Door, but was still allowed to get on an airplane? I'm willing to bet, I'd still be waiting in a holding cell this morning trying to make my one phone call.. but something else is confirmed.. the use of the "drink cart" to block the (_*_) from getting into the Captain's quarters.. I could swear I heard a flight attendant once mutter "you're not getting by me and my drink cart to get to the restrooms, buddy"

L-E editorial headline/content: "EDITORIALS * Matters of life and death, and money * Columbus doesn’t have enough paramedics. The Columbus Consolidated Government doesn’t have enough money to pay for more. And right now there aren’t enough incentives to keep some of ones the city does have. " -- Finally, an issue Dusty even understands.. Oh, why doesn't Mayor Tom-LYING-son just add toll booths to her bicycle trails and dog runs and let the users pay for their use oif the "necessary"  (yeah, right) public amenities.

Online headline: "Notre Dame grads walk out during Mike Pence’s commencement speech" -- Hmmm.. If I was the person in charge of shipping those students diplomas to them, I do believe I'd send them out with "Pokemon Go".. If I was a parent of such a student, and their diploma arrived at my mailing address, I believe I;d mark of the mailing tube, "not at this address" and "return to sender", and if I were an employers and had a Class of 2017 ND grad apply, I'd ask them what did VP Pence say, and if they said they "walked out" and /or "don't know". I'd put their application in "round file" next to my desk.

UBER LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Anyone supporting the deportation of the Shaw student has the heart of a rabid skunk." -- From the "looks like liberals are mostly talk" department.. Remember Jose Gonzalez Ochoa? The Shaw graduate that got arrested for driving without a license and his illegal status was discovered?  A "go fund me" page was setup to help him get a Visa.. so far 45 people have donated.. and 679 have "shared" the site on FaceBook.. Guess that means 634 of the "sharers" did not donate, but simply passed it on wanting money from "other people's wallets".. bet this "soundoffer" was a "pass it forward" person. And you wondered how liberalism propagates...

L-E headline/story: "Wondering what that smell is in south Columbus? *  “Controlling odors, that is the key,” said John Peebles, senior vice president of Water Resource Operations at the Water Works. “We spent over $1 million, probably close to $2 million, at this waste water plant," -- "we spent over $1 million, probably close to $2 million"?  You know, when I get my water bill, I'd like to know we have people figuring it that know there's a big difference in "$1 million" and "$2 million"  because I "feel" I'm being billed to make up the difference.. how about posting a "more correct/exact" number...

L-E headline: "Biden: It’s time for America to regain unity" -- Good grief.. Biden just spent 8 years as part of an administration that measured itself by segregating this nation, and now he talks "unity"? Biden's -years late and trillions of dollars short... besides, Trump has this back on track already.

Four GHSAA State Champions in golf will be crowned today.. It's a shame that Bull Creek didn't attract at least one.. even ALL, of these tournaments..

From the " did you remember this story being parswd when Bernie was shout "free education" while courting college students votes" department - Online story: "multiple reports are emerging that Jane Sanders is under FBI investigation amid accusations of improper financial conduct during her time as president of Burlington College. * VTDigger, an independent, investigative news organization in Vermont under the Vermont Journalism Trust, asked Sanders in April if she had been contacted by the FBI or the U.S. attorney for Vermont amid the investigation into Burlington College. She refused to comment. * Sen. Sanders cut off a local WCAX television interviewer trying to ask if he'd used improper influence with People's United Bank to secure a loan for Burlington College. Sanders said it would be "improper" to discuss the matter and insinuated that the allegations are political in nature. * The college closed in May 2016 under "crushing weight" from its debt, " --  Bernie's wife's school  went 'belly up' during the primary..Got this info from a story this week.. I cannot imagine this not being NEWS during the primary campaign other than since the Hellary "fix" was already in, mainscream media did not want to estrange college student votes when she also shouted out for "free education".

Online story: "Don't freak out but San Francisco, best known for the Golden Gate Bridge, and the historic LGBT rights Castro district, has a new tourist attraction. * For two days in July, the San Francisco Dungeon will feature a pop-up called The Rat Cafe! * The entry at the Dungeon will set you back $50 bucks, among other things, to the rat attraction which features rescued and rehabilitated rodents that will be scurrying around while you drink coffee or tea and pastries." - "The Rat Cafe"? "rats will scurry around ... for twoi days."? Guess AFTER the two days, the owners will put back the "D-e-m-o-c" back up on the sign and back to business as usual for regular DemocRATS to scurry around.

---
From the "it's worse than terrorism" department - HuffPOOPOO story: "The man who drove his car into a crowded sidewalk in Times Square on Thursday was high on synthetic marijuana, known on the street as K2 * Richard Rojas, 26, plowed down three city blocks, killing an 18-year-old woman and injuring at least 22 others in what appears to have been a drug-fueled rampage. * Rojas, a Navy veteran from the Bronx, has been arrested twice in the past for drunken driving -- in 2008 and 2015. * There was "no indication" it was an act of terrorism, Mayor Bill de Blasio told a news conference at the scene." -- "no indication it was an act of terrorism"? Hmm.. you know it's worse.. This has become an act of "normalcy" on the streets of NYC since de Bl(_*_)io  became mayor.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Joe Biden's new job revealed" -- Hmm.. Biden and The University of Pennsylvania are teaming up to create a foreign policy center in DC.... Biden .. after an 8 year hiatus from reality, Biden is now an expert on foreign policy?  Which country is he representing?

---
Online "headLIE": "ABC defends Last Man Standing cancellation * we made the decision not to continue with comedies on Fridays" -- WRONG.. ABC TRIED to defend canceling Last Man Standing...what ABC did was reveal how liberal it has become.. think back at how many times I've mentioned that the first clue you're dealing with a liberal is when you notice that people lose their sense of humor.

---
Soapbox Moment: Creating a Citizens Advisory Committee to work with the MCSB and MCSD on what can be done to create successful and localized alternative school programs for students with classroom issues is a good thing.  Another aspect than can be incorporated into the charges of a Citizens Advisory Committee is a board rating system.. posting overall "grades" of board members' decisions would give the voters  great knowledge in assessing whether board members should be supported or not in re-election bids.

---
You know, Republicans challenging Trump making good on his campaign issues are not really protesting Trump, they are supporting Schumer and Pelosi.

---
Have you noticed that Democrats and mainscream media have already assumed that a Special Prosecutor means Trump is guilty and will be impeached..and next week won't be quick enough to do so. Trying to convince Democrats that the job of a Special Prosecutor is to investigate situations and report his findings as to their reality/factuality is not what Democrats and mainscream media actually want to hear.

---
While I personally thought Trump should have fired Comey on day 1 of his presidency, I also understand Trump's philosophy or giving trust early in a relationship to see if a person with skills can be trusted for his/her loyalty as well. Comey failed..not only Trump's "test", but America..and himself.

---
Soapbox Moment: I'm certainly glad my middle daughter has already been graduated from CSU, and that I have only one left there. Just heard that CSU has a "food pantry" for students who obviously have gone to high schools with "free meals" because they expect them in college as well.  After years of having to buy outrageously priced "meal plans" so my daughters would be able to eat away at school, I realize it is expensive to be a prisoner of the university dorm & food programs, but it's just not right to promote a welfare program for students who are learning (at least I hope this is the goal) to become self-sufficient adults when they graduate. What's even worse is that when "food welfare" is not fully supported by voluntary donations (and it won't), the CSU will incorporate the costs in either an existing or new "mandatory fee" each semester for parents to pay for other people's children to eat as well as their own. You know, there is already such a "mandatory fee" in place that requires parents of students to pay for children of others to attend school on athletic scholarships.. Let your GA Representatives know this is just WRONG!

Oh, and one of the specific requests is for "$10.00 Publix Cards"... Excuse me, not only are there no "Publix Stores" even close to either CSU campuses! If students have cars, to get to Publix, then they do not NEED donations for food...

---
WRBL TV3 headline: "MCSD Assistant Superintendent resigns from her position" -- Guess she didn't want to be competing against Lewis when he sends out his resume for another gig. Looks like a "double strike out" for ex-Polk County, FL in Muscogee County, GA

---
L-E story: "There are 146 public safety vehicles on the streets of Columbus that meet the city’s “replace now” criteria, but officials say there’s no need to worry. * “When we say ‘replace now,’ that doesn’t mean the vehicles are unsafe,” said Deputy City Manager Lisa Goodwin. “It just means they reached the written criteria for replacement.” -- You know, our law enforcement folks need safe vehicles.. not just for their safety (which is paramount), but also for the safety of all Columbus citizens.. a police vehicle out-of-control because of safety issues is a danger to average law-abiding citizens who may just be in the wrong place at the wrong time.. Guess Mayor Tom-LYING-son won't care until somebody on her bicycle trails get taken out by a police vehicle out-of-control.

---
You know.. I hope Paul Ryan calls for "impeachment" of EVERY Democrat in the House. Dems are wasting our time and money distracting Trump's time from getting things done to Make America Great Again. ..and it's a whole lot more likely that all Democrats could get impeached over traitorous obstruction of Congress versus Trump being impeached over Democrat claims.

---
L-E "soundoff": "Diogenes would need a lantern emitting the same amount of lumens as the sun to find an honest man these days." -- Well, he certainly would if he went to a Democratic Party campaign fund raiser, or Caucus..

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Immigrants in detention centers suffer horribly, while others make money off of their confinement. So who is breaking the ethical border, the immigrant or the money maker?" -- Hmm.. then  taxpayers would really benefit if we build 'the Wall", have no illegal aliens to arrest, and no jail keepers on payroll to watch over and feed them.

---
From L-E headline/story: " Now at 5 percent, how low can Georgia’s unemployment go?* Here are the April 2017 job totals for Georgia’s metro areas::
• Augusta — 241,800
• Savannah — 179,700
• Columbus — 121,100
• Macon — 102,800
• Albany — 62,700

Of course Atlanta leads with 2,739,500 jobs, but what's disturbing is the huge difference between Columbus and Augusta/Savannah, and the pathetic totals for Sanford Bishops District 2. which includes all or some of Macon/Albany/Columus.

Columbus/Muscogee County has either 189K or 200K depending on who's figures you use, while Augusta/Richmond County has 195K, and Savannah/Chatam County has 289K, Macon/Bibb County has 153K, and Albany/Dougherty County has 90K. Of course, the L-E's "crack" reporting shows Augusta/Richmond County with 40-plus thousand more "jobs" than people than the Census.. (maybe the L-E is counting dead people voting as a "job"), but anyway you "slice it" Columbus job totals are pathetic compared to Augusta and Savannah and lower than Macon or Albany, and Bishop's District 2 totals are pathetic compared to the rest of GA

---
Can anyone with Columbus' "Together 2017" give us an update on the "Little Libraries" .. like how many books have been taken and returned/not returned.. any damages.. etc?

---
From the "if there is none, let's show our bias ANYWAY" department - L-E "headLIE": "Chaffetz, who leads House inquiry, to resign" -- WRONG.. Chaffetz announced he will not run for re-election in 2018, and that he may retire earlier than that..

---
You know, when all races come together to applaud each other is a beautiful moment.. why then, does one sector want to segregate from another?

---
L-E story: "The opening of the $2.6 billion football stadium under construction in Inglewood, California, has been pushed back one year to 2020 because of construction delays caused by Los Angeles’ uncommonly wet winter." -- "$2.6 BILLION football stadium"? You know, that's almost 10 years of Columbus' entire budgets.. wonder how many bicycle lanes/parking facilities Inglewood's mayor included in that plan?

---
I'm confused.. confused at mainscream media being FOR dismantling our Constitution.. confused only because it IS our Constitution that protects mainscream media so it can make stupid arguments for dismantling our Constitution..

See ya' Monday.. taking a long weekend away from the keyboard to enjoy my children. See ya' Monday with my "Weekend Update".

Thursday, May 18, 2017

Online headline: "Former FBI Director Robert Mueller, special counsel will take over FBI Russia campaign interference investigation" -- You know.. it's not an issue of whether there was an "Russian influence" that Hellary lost.. America didn't NEED any Russian help to make the Trump choice.. it's a matter of Democrats and mainscream media accepting truth and reality. As it is, neither can accept that OObamaCRAP was awful, nor Hellary.. and for that matter, Bill, should be in jail.

---
Online headline/story: "Board considering advisory council * Though no formal vote was ever taken at their stormy meeting on Monday night, the Muscogee County School Board did take steps toward creating a citizens advisory council that will consider changes in the district’s alternative education programs. * proposal called for a group of 15-17 individuals, but there was talk that more members might be added. These prospective individuals have apparently been contacted: Waleisah Wilson, Marianne Young, Charles Redd, Tollie Strode Jr., Dr. J.A. Hud, Olive Vidal Kendall, Carolyn Randoff, Rev. Ralph Huling, Lisa Jenkins, Tonza Thomas and Bart Steed." --  There are some fine names "thrown out here...but seriously, shouldn't there be a game plan for appointing an advisory committee before any names are thrown out? .. People should actually fill out an application to serve..listing their education levels, community connection, and WHY they want to serve on such. There should also be criteria for the selection process..such as so many per Board District, so many per Council District, etc.

---
I'm getting tired.. no.. disappointed.. at commenters who voted for Trump for the right reasons, now expressing doubt and concerns about him.. for the wrong reasons.. We wanted real change, and even Washington Republicans aren't going to cooperate fully to adapt to the changes Trump brings because they've been there so long that they LIKE what they've ceated for themselves.. I'd rather these "doubters"  had voted for Hellary rather than be so shallow as to abandon the one person with the bravado and courage and skill sets to get America back on track for the future. Mainscream media is laughing at their inability to see through its propaganda siege.

You know.. it's unfortunate that brick&mortar stores are closing at a disturbing pace.. mainly because of a consumer "whim" to buy online. Buying online has its merits, but eventually, when sizes and or "fit" are wrong, consumers will yearn for opportunities to go into stores, and try on clothing for "fit" and flattery.

---
Online story: "Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke said in an interview Wednesday that he has taken a job as an assistant secretary in the Department of Homeland Security." -- Yee doggies, there's a "new sheriff in town"..

---
You know, while we should be pleased that Mayor Tom-LYING-son is cutting off tax funding of Uptown Columbus, one if the facts revealed was stunning..even numbing..only $35,000.00 is being "returned" to the city via fees collected from Whitewater and Zipline ventures.. this doesn't come close to the return-on-investment the city should be seeing on the MILLIONS of tax dollars poured into creating these private sector business's platform.

---
A US Senator from North Carolina collapsed..stopped breathing in a Washington road race..He was revived and taken to hospital..don't you know he's glad he didn't vote OObamaCRAP for himself...

---
What is wrong with voters who wanted the changes Trump could.. can.. bring? Do they not realize even Republicans of long service do not want real change in how business is done, and we know Democrats and mainscream media absolutely fear what's in store with Trump shining the light of truth on them.

---
Trump told Coast Guard graduates that no president has been treated so badly as he has been...and he was just talking about Republican politicians!

---
For all you conservatives/independents.. (liberals don't matter in this)..in January, the FBI stated unequivocally, that it had read the transcripts of Flynn's conversations with Russian officials and found nothing illegal..even questionable..about Flynn. Flynn was later fired by Trump for lying to VP Pence. There is nothing Trump would even have to ask Comey to drop. Gird your loins and support the only person in Washington who hasn't or doesn't want to sell you out for personal gain.

---
I knew the L-E was struggling, but not until last night at church dinner did I realize how much. I approached one table of community involved members, and 1 asked if I was still writing letters to the editor. I said one was printed last week. He expressed that he didn't see it because he'd canceled his subscription..Immediately, 4 others close by chimed in that they too had canceled theirs.

---
There was a lot of interest in mainscream media about the GA District 32 runooff when poll numbers looked like the Democrat had a real shot at winning... after the election gave the Republican candidate a landslide 57-43 victory, mainscream media is not so interested in spreading the results.. Anyway, so much for mainscream media polls reflecting our nation's values.

---
Online headline: "Krauthammer: Stunning that Republicans have given up on defending Trump" -- "Stunning"? You know, Krauthammer was not a Trump supporter early on, and had to be won over.. but recognizes that the Republican Party was glad to run on Trump's coattails as long as Trump got them the majorities .. now, Republicans are more worried because voters want Republicans to help Trump, but too many Republicans want what the Democrats want.. things to stay the same..

---
L-E headline: "‘You killed my son!’ mom yells after bikers found not guilty of murder" -- While crime is an issue that the mayor cannot dodge, we cannot blame all lack of containment on her.. there's plenty of blame to share with the DA's office, and especially on juries. BTW,, I've got jury call next week.. could take the "age" exemption, but will not.. of course, I doubt any lawyers will want me on their juries.

---
Did you know that there's a WW1 Centennial recognition breakfast at the National Infantry Museum on Saturday? There's a breakfast ($12.00) and reservations are a required (707-685-5814). It caught my eye as one of my favorite "collectibles" is a WW! Signal Mirror (with case) that my grandfather, Hal Armentrout, Sr, carried across France and Germany.. even more special, he sent it to my Dad during WW2 when he was stationed in the Panama Canal area. Seems radio connections weren't dependable, and the Army did not have signal mirrors, so Papa sent his to Dad..

L-E story: "Georgia carried out its first execution of the year early on Wednesday, putting to death a man convicted of killing a 73-year-old neighbor in 1992. *  J.W. Ledford Jr., 45, was pronounced dead at 1:17 a.m. at the state prison in Jackson, more than six hours after his initial execution time. The delay was waiting for a ruling from the U.S. Supreme Court, which denied his request for a stay." -- This is why our judicial sentencing system is not a deterrent for heinous crime.. When Ledford brutally stabbed the 73 year old man (a doctor to boot) to death, Ledford was only 20.. and we have been paying for his upkeep and legal way too long.

---
L-E headline/story: "Pop-up market with food, retailers will be Thursday on 13th Street * Call it a pop-up market or a sidewalk sale or a street party. * No matter the name, the goal of an event Thursday evening off 13th Street in the Midtown area of Columbus is to help residents “reimagine” what the corridor could look like with fewer, slower traffic lanes, on-street parking and revived businesses along the route." -- " help residents “reimagine” what the corridor could look like with fewer, slower traffic lanes, on-street parking and revived businesses along the route."? Good grief.. residents can see slower.. even stopped.. traffic on 13th simply by looking west at rush hour.. and this is without reducing lanes...

To boot, what happens to the "Bike to Work" on Friday if an unexpected thunder storm pops up during either "rush hour" trek,, or afternoon West bound road rage occurs as short-tempered drivers sit stalled in the piercing PM sun as police escorted bike riders toodle along in blocked off traffic lanes?

---
L-E story: "Arrests of immigrants suspected to be in the U.S. illegally soared in the early months of the Trump administration, in part because of a surge in the detention of immigrants who have no criminal convictions, officials announced Wednesday." -- "a surge in detention of immigrants who have no criminal convictions"? Excuse me.. "immigrants" are not being arrested.. "ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS are being arrested.. most of which were WRONGFULLY ALLOWED in by the Obama policies that handcuffed law enforcement.. and let's not forget.. being an illegal immigrant is not based on whether a court convicts you, it's based on not being here legally!

From the "Comey said what" department - Online headline/story: "James Comey created records of 'improper' phone calls and meetings he had with Trump * Former FBI director James Comey reportedly created records of interactions he had with President Trump which he deemed "improper efforts to influence an ongoing investigation," according to a New York Times report *  Comey's memo on his February meeting with Trump was two pages long and highly detailed, officials told the Washington Post.* The former FBI director has a long history of maintaining extensive notes on his interactions." -- To start with.. are the NYT and the WaPo each other's "source"? "the former director has a long history of maintaining EXTENSIVE notes on his interactions"?  Wait a minute,, Comey is the guy that said no record of the Hellary interviews were made. Hmmm..talk about needing to engage a "Special Prosecutor", no telling what Comey has stashed away on Hellary..for his private gain..

You know.. mainscream media and Democrats yawned when Comey said no recordings/records were kept during the Hellary e-mail scandal investigation, yet now mainscream media and Democrats  are willing.. no .. eager.. to dive into what Comey describes as extensive notes of Trump meetings... don't ever again tell me... even imply.. that there's not a "double standard" in mainscream media and Democrats...

Online story: "A cyclist riding in New Orleans got hit by a stray bullet from a shooting nearby ... and the whole thing was caught on video. * Christopher Weiss was cruising along with his cycling club in NOLA, when all of a sudden he shrieked in pain and had to pull over. As it turns out ... he'd been shot." -- You know.. I can imagine this occurring along Mayor Tom-LYING-son's Dragonfly Trail as well.

HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Tim Allen lashes out at ABC after 'Last Man Standing' cancellation: 'Stunned and blindsided' *  "We make tough calls and cancel shows that we otherwise would have loved to stay on the air. That's the job," Dungey said. "But I canceled 'Last Man Standing' for the same business and scheduling reasons that I canceled 'The Real O'Neals,' 'Dr. Ken,' 'The Catch' and 'American Crime.'" * Allen's sitcom consistently performed well on the network, delivering 8 million viewers on Friday nights. However, Dungey explained, the network decided to eliminate comedies from Friday night programming." --  Canceled for the same business/scheduling reasons as 'The Real O'Neals,' 'Dr. Ken,' 'The Catch' and 'American Crime? I don't think so.. I did watch :Dr Ken a couple of times as it followed "Last Man Standing", but soon learned to change channels as soon as "LMS" ended.. For 6 seasons, we enjoyed "LMS".. for ever how long :Dr Ken" was on, we ignored it.. "LMS" was excellent entertainment, and "Dr Ken" was inane crap.

WRBL 3 TV headline/story: "Mayor Tomlinson announces bike sharing program * The mayor explained how bike sharing works. * “These are gonna be opportunities for people to come by with their smart phones, rent bikes for the first thirty minutes free. So if you don’t have a bike, or it’s not convenient for you to bring your bike with yo, you can get one down here, ride one around on a Saturday, a Sunday afternoon..no particular shop has to be open. You can just access that bike and go and ride for a bit and come on back,” says Teresa Tomlinson. * The mayor says the exact locations for the Columbus bike shares will be released at a later date." -- How about Mayor Tom-LYING-son announcing whether the City of Columbus is going to get cash-positive revenue from this venture she obviously has been involved with promoting while paid by taxpayers.

Of course.. it's going to be interesting when phone thieves use 'other people's phones" to unlock a bicycle and not return it.

The Monday School Board decision to reject Lewis's Camelot plans ....clearly have future implications.... 1 being that Dr. Lewis MUST find a solution for the problem from within our known resources, and 2, the Board does not need to offer any contract extensions to Lewis until he does.

---
You know, Dr Lewis says he has worked for 18 months on the alternative classroom needs. My questions (in no certain order) are..1 - why wasn't this "need" part of the SPLOST proposals, 2 - who else within the school system knew Lewis was doing so, 3 - were there other companies conferred with for this "solution", 4 - were there documented meetings within the school system to address local solutions, 5 - why wasn't this issue mentioned during the last election season, 6 - how much money did Camelot (and others, if any) spend "wining and dining" Lewis (and possibly others).

With all the secrets and information WikiLeaks had extracted from Hellary's illegal home servers, who says anything Trump said to the Russian Ambassadors wasn't already known, and Trump's confirmation just cemented his openess to be a good friend and ally, and create better relations with Russia for the future.

WLTZ TV headline/story: "South Columbus residents live in Third World Conditions *PARKWOOD MOBILE HOMES CITED 31 TIMES BY INSPECTIONS SINCE 2011 * The company is registered to a PO Box in Doylestown PA but former Army officer and local attorney * Chris Meacham is listed as a registered agent for the company. * Miraculously , Meacham told First News he didn’t know his own client * saying he couldn’t name any people associated with Parkwood." "Meacham... saying he COULDN'T name any people associated with Parkwood"? WOULDN"T is more like it! Why not ask Meacham who signs the check from Parkwood he gets monthly... What's even more disturbing is the lack of monitoring of our Tax Assessor's office, and Mayor Tom-LYING-son.. Parkwood paid $1,600,000.00 to a prominent Columbus businessman for the complex in 2011, yet the whole property  id assessed on a value of only $375,037.00

Astute L-E "soundoff": "I think it’s time to require an IQ verification before a Sound Off is published." -- Even better would be to have an IQ and BIAS reveal of the editor who selects what will make "soundoff"...

From the "proof of the above item"department - LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Garrett Walker is becoming a great councilor. He doesn’t seem to be a puppet. He has a mind of his own." Good grief.. he sits in Red McDaniels old seat, and Red McDaniels he ain't.. driving around town and seeing how bad the roads are reveal this fact pretty quick.. Even though the Whitesville Road section between Veterans and Airport Thruway has recently been repaved, there's already a sunken manhole cover that will shake the bumper off of cars...

---
L-E story: "Uptown Columbus Inc., the organization steering the redevelopment of the downtown area, will have to continue its mission without financial support from the city — at least for now. *  Mayor Teresa Tomlinson eliminated the nonprofit’s annual subsidy in her fiscal year 2018 recommended budget, along with funding for other service and cultural organizations such as the Naval Museum and Keep Columbus Beautiful." -- Don't ever say I don't agree with Mayor Tom-LYING-son on anything..but she hasn't gone far enough.. she needs to sell off the Liberty Apartments "the City" bought to bail out a certain church/pastor, stop the 3-mils of property tax paid in homage to Columbus Regional since Columbus Regional has partnered up with Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, and cut off the City funding to the Chamber. Oh. and start charging the Aquacenter users enough in fees to make the operation revenue positive.

L-E story: "Prosecutors dropped robbery and assault charges against a Columbus man Tuesday when victims didn’t recognize him as the gunman who last year took $1,600 and a gold necklace near Lakebottom Park. * C******** L*** C******* had been facing two counts of aggravated assault and obstructing police and one count each of armed robbery, using a gun to commit a crime, being a convicted felon with a gun, possessing cocaine with the intent to distribute it and possessing hydrocodone. * When witnesses viewing C*******’s videotaped police interview could not identify him as the man who on Feb. 16, 2016, pointed a silver semiautomatic handgun at them before taking the cash and necklace, prosecutors struck a deal for him to plead guilty only to the felony drug possession and misdemeanor obstruction charges." -- Wait a minute.. what about wrongful possession of a gun by a convicted felon!

L-E headline/story: "7,000 birds seized in Los Angeles County raid * Some 7,000 birds were seized in Los Angeles County in one of the largest raids of illegal cockfighting in U.S. history, authorities said Tuesday. * About 100 sheriff’s deputies conducted the raid Monday in a remote area northwest of Los Angeles, authorities said at a news conference. The birds, goats and about 50 guard dogs were turned over to animal control officials. * About 10 people were detained, including the property owners, sheriff’s Sgt. Bob Boese said, adding that arrests will be made after detectives and prosecutors determine which laws were broken." -- Wonder what the Las Vegas odds on the over/under number of illegal aliens involved is?

---

From the "should the Chamber be learning something from Trump" department - L-E headline: "Columbus chamber names its top two economic projects of the year" -- Good grief.. if the Chamber has not locked these two "projects" into iron-clad commitments, why would it announce to other cities that these "projects" are in play? If they are already "locked in" then they aren't projects.
