HuffPOOPOO headline: "Pope Francis 'ashamed' the word 'mother' was tied to MOAB" -- I think I missed the HuffPOOPOO headline that Poop Francis was embarrassed at hearing most rappers use of "mother..."

Oh, while we're thinking about it.. don't think for a moment that local legislators and lobbyists aren't hard at work trying to get a casino law passed next legislative session that would put Columbus, GA in the running for a casino here. Ironically, the same man who chairs the oft ridiculed "Office of Crime Prevention" heads the group that wants to build the casino.

You know, the Democrats assault on the new healthcare bill focuses on what they call "millions" who get, in their opinion, negatively affected. Besides pure BS, as our country as always taken care that indigents still get basic healthcare regardless of their ability to pay, let's remember, 100s of millions of Americans are going to benefit!

---
Last week, I wrote about the infinite plausibility of GA's "automatic opt in" voter registration during renewals causing increased voter fraud conditions. A couple of know-littles poopooed the thought..yesterday, I got a "FB Friend Request"...from a person not only known to me in the past, but known to me to be dead. Wonder if the know-littles feel this can't happen either.

Online story: " Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott signed into law on Sunday a measure to punish "sanctuary cities," despite a plea from police chiefs of the state's biggest cities to halt the bill they said would hinder their ability to fight crime. *  Democrats have warned the measure could lead to unconstitutional racial profiling and civil rights groups have promised to fight the Texas measure in court." --  "Democrats have warned... could lead to unconstitutional racial profiling "?  Excuse me, but Democrats ARE, not could.. exercising "unconstitutional racial profiling" by ASSUMING all crimes are/will be committed by Latinos.

Online story: "Macy's is morphing into a discount store. * The department-store chain is testing self-service systems in its shoe departments and at its beauty counters, meaning customers would serve themselves instead of finding a salesperson to retrieve shoes or make eyeliner recommendations." -- Good grief.. "is morphing"? isn't  having too few employees per store what caused the previous closings of so many of their units.. I recall reporting how a major Macy's in California of 475,000 square feet had only 105 employees at the time..That meant that even if all 105 employees worked 9-to-9, 7 days a week, took no lunches, coffee or potty breaks, customers would get on 1 employee per 4,500+ square feet to ask help/ring up sales.

I guess the next sequel/remake to "A Miracle on 34th Street" will have to be shot at "Gimbels" because Macy's shut down Santa's Workshop".

---
Online story: "FCC chairman Ajit Pai said that his agency will be looking into complaints made against Stephen Colbert for what some labeled a homophobic joke about President Donald Trump. * "I have had a chance to see the clip now and so, as we get complaints — and we've gotten a number of them — we are going to take the facts that we find and we are going to apply the law as it's been set out by the Supreme Court and other courts and we'll take the appropriate action," Pai told Philadelphia's Talk Radio 1210 WPHT." -- "I have had a chance to see the clip now "? Good grief.. and Pai hasn't ALREADY shut down CBS? You know, this isn't about a guest exploding unscripted, or about a host reacting to someone who hits him with a "suckerpunch" from behind, this was about the man controlling the microphone INTENTIONALLY acting in an unacceptable manner.. It's not even about whether the target was Trump.. or any sitting/past president, it is about common decency that liberals believe they are exempt from being responsible for.

Online headline: "Puerto Rico files for biggest ever US local government bankruptcy" -- As "Queen" might respond: "dant dant dant dant, another Democratic Party government bites the dust"

---
From the "extra creepy" department - Online stroy: "Two baby lion cubs were presented to the public at a zoo in Chile on Thursday, born after a pioneering veterinary procedure that involved a reversed vasectomy of their father. *The cubs' mother "Masai" became pregnant after the father "Maucho" underwent the procedure, which vets at Buin Zoo in the suburbs of Santiago said took months of planning and a five-hour operation. * "This is the first successful reversal of a lion vasectomy reported in the world," said Marcelo Marconi, a urology specialist who joined the zoo vet team to lead the procedure. "It gives a way of preserving and maintaining a species in a zoo" -- Good grief.. who was the sicko that decided the lion needed/wanted a vasectomy to begin with?

---
From the "doh!" department - Online headline: "Horse wins 143rd running of the Kentucky Derby" -- Hmmm... as one did in each of the first 142 runnings.

---
From the "how appropriate" department - HuffPOOPOO story: "Border Patrol in Arizona found a closed casket filled with 67 pounds of weed, worth over $33,000 over the weekend.*  agents stopped the hearse in the ironic town of Tombstone for an immigration stop. * Manure was put over the marijuana to cover the smell."-- Probably headed for Portland, Oregon.... which brings up a vacuous point.. why do liberals feel dried weeds are worth nearly $500.00 a pound, and manure makes sense to burn for fuel?

---
Looks like France's Macron has been purportedly hacked by "the Russians". You'd think Macron would had heeded the advice of Hellary and Obama to rid his hard drive of records of public ridicule.. Amazingly...(NOT) Macron didn't seem to mind when "hack" Obama spoke out for him.

---
A conservative guest on Fox pretty much shut down a Hellary supporter yesterday when he said Hellary would have won handily by 3,000,000 votes in any other country..The conservative countered with all those votes were in California, while the rest of the country trusted convenience store sushi more than Hellary.

Online headline/story: "Emory University to pay ‘100 percent’ of the financial need of students in country illegally * But international students pay full price and must certify they have sufficient funds to cover tuition  *  A program to be rolled out at Emory University this fall pledges to pay “100% of demonstrated financial need for undergraduate Undocumented Students (with or without DACA) who are admitted as first-year, first-degree-seeking students,” campus officials state online. * “Emory meets 100% of demonstrated financial need for undergraduate Undocumented Students (with or without DACA) who are admitted as first-year, first-degree-seeking students, and who graduated from a U.S. High school through a combination of grants and scholarships, institutional work study (DACA students only), and institutional loans. Undocumented Students without DACA status may receive an institutional loan in place of the typical work study award,” it adds." --  You know.. I was questioning the Emory committee last week on it's decision to allow/pay an impeached president who is also a disbarred lawyer , a noted misogynist, a pathological liar and philanderer to give life lessons to Emery graduates, but now Emory is exercising class/racial biases by preferring illegal aliens to American citizens.

---
From the "this is not that exclusive a burden on DePaul parents" department - "Online story: "“Is it worth paying more for college if the money goes to help undocumented immigrants? * Students at DePaul University, a Catholic institution, will put their values to the test in a referendum next week. * Two student groups that favor illegal immigration convinced the student government to add the resolution to the ballot. It would ask the administration to create a scholarship fund for undocumented students that would be funded by higher student activity fees. *  DePaul’s tuition for the class entering the school this fall, not including housing, dining and general fees, is $38,410 for most students. It was $37,020 for students who entered last fall." -- You know,, even parents at CSU are loaded up on mandatory fees of close to $1,000.00 a semester.. two of which are burdens on parents who send their children there.. one is the "University Fee", which has absolutely no restrictions on how the University uses/applies it, and the other is the "Athletic Fee".. ypu would think it covers your child's attendance, but the purpose is to fund scholarships to students to play for CSU.. There is something inherently wrong with arbitrarily burdening one set of parents with funding the education of children of another set of parents.

L-E headline: "IMMIGRATION * Shaw High grad held, now faces deportation" -- This IS tough.. but the same Constitution that would protect him if all the legal channels had been followed is the same Constitution that protects others from less productive illegal aliens.. and the Constitution only works for all when all work for the Constitution..

---
L-E story: "A city councilman honored the Columbus Georgia Metro Black Nurses Association with a proclamation Saturday at the annual “Xcellence in Nursing Brunch.” -- Question.. did Pops also present a proclamation to the Columbus Georgia Metro White Nurses Association? Oooops, I'm sorry, there is  one of those.. and there shouldn't be one ... for either...

---
L-E headline: "PROFESSIONAL SPORTS * With another team gone, it’s time to put baseball back on the table" -- Hmmm.. My words during the 1990 campaign for mayor seem to be haunting today's politicians.,, tear down the old ball park, build a new coliseum/civic center at that location, and build a new baseball/outdoor music facility where AutoNation Cars Sales now occupies. The ball/music park could have been done for about $7 Million then with PLENTY of parking. Council excitedly discussed the possibility.. but opted out to put a band-aid on Golden Park.. then a couple of years later, decoded to waste $7 Million of a softball do-over that ultimately destroyed Columbus' minor league baseball participation.. Now.. here we sit.. twiddling thumbs..

Oh.. "Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol 2".. take your spouse.. fun flick.. but it's not a children's show.. I do not know where the cut-off for PG-13 is anymore.

---
Online headline: "REPORT: OBAMA SAYS TRUMP PRESIDENCY “LIKE WATCHING A BUSINESS HE’D BUILT FOR 8 YEARS BEING SLOWLY RIPPED DOWN” -- Hmmm... of course, the rest of the country and world view Trump as a "bankruptcy judge" or a "salvage captain" ordered in to right a shipwreck.

---
Online headline: "(Hellary) Clinton: French election results a 'defeat to those interfering with democracy'" -- Hmmm.. Then ..Why is the Senate Investigation only focused on Russian influence on elections..What about Obama's intrusions on the elections in Israel, France, and, of course, ours? Of course, Obama can really be pegged as undermining "Democracy" as his preferences are for socialism/communism..

---
Well shiver me timbers! Knew I had a pirate in my family line-up, but today I found out that not only was the Post Civil War governor of New York (1865-1868) Robert Fenton an ancestral cousin, but also ancestral cousins with two passengers on the Mayflower!   OK.. back to real world 101..

---
L-E headline: "Carmike property purchase was a ‘measured’ decision" --  Great coup for Will White! I can see AMC is going to have a tough time absorbing its Columbus culture.. I can see AMC wanting to convert $5 Million+ of property in Tom-LYING-sonville to cash at a loss to shake that connection, but something else AMC has done is something it will regret.. the popcorn now being served is not as good as the popcorn, Carmike served..

LIV's L-E "soundoff": "If guns were made solely for self-defense, they would’ve gone out of business decades ago. They fail miserably at that. So much that you have to assume anyone carrying a gun has other intentions."-- Dang! Another one of those.. one of those who was taught history by liberals.. One must only check early American history in the settlement of "the colonies".. While early guns were carried by settlers, defense was secondary, and "offense" wasn't even in the picture... the primary use was for hunting.. it is not easy job to carry large quantities ammunition into battle for sustained offensive use.. whereas, stockades/compounds where people lived/settled have set storage rooms settlers could tap into if conditions of defense arose..

---
A beyond-recovery LIV's L-E "soundoff": "President Trump has only “street smarts,” or the ability to outwit the other fellow. President Obama has wisdom, or the ability to see the bigger picture. There is a difference." -- "Obama.. ability to see the bigger picture"? No, Obama had the ability to paint a picture of Utopia which does not exist, but is still sought by those who cannot cope with personal responsibility and accountability.

L-E "Together 201-|->" ad: "I'm proud to continue partnering with some of our region's most generous and influential companies, business leaders and citizens in an effort to showcase what a truly remarkable community we live i. - Rodney Mahone, President and Publisher Ledger-Enquirer (and Macon Telegraph). -- Hmmm.. first we need to know which community he's referring to, but, partnering with such entities as the school system and government should not be part of his "partnering".. No, Rodney Mahone needs to be their "watchdog".. secondly, all these "partners are keeping any investigative  research in check as the L-E probably would sink without the daily ad revenues of "Together 201-|->"being injected into the L-E's operating steam..

---
L-E headline: "I-85 bridge construction should be finished by Memorial Day weekend" -- Hmmm.. Having successfully reached 70 years of age, I do believe I'll wait until July 4th or Labor Day passes before I venture on to it...

---
L-E story: "The governance board of Wynnton Arts Academy voted unanimously on April 27 to terminate its charter and request a return to magnet status immediately upon termination of the charter contract." -- You know.. what on earth will Wynnton offer as an "arts magnet" when the Rainey/McCullers Fine Arts School opens?

In another school related action, "The board will hear an update on the Learn to Swim Program, a collaboration between the school district and Columbus Parks and Recreation that makes it possible for kindergarten students attending six elementary schools to participate in classes designed to develop swimming and water safety skills." -- You know.. what parents would willingly turn their children over to a City employee to teach them to them to swim. but why is this a burden on all the taxpayers in Columbus?

In another school board action, "The board is being asked to renew contracts with SSC Service Solutions, Beck Janitorial and Diversified for custodial services in middle and high schools." -- Wait a minute.. aren't custodial services under another discussion already? Shouldn't this be resolved BEFORE any contrats are signed or renewed?
