Online "headLIE": "Majority of Americans think President Trump is abusing his powers" -- Perhaps "Majority of  Liberal-Americans think President Trump is abusing his powers", or "Majority of Uninformed-Americans think President Trump is abusing his powers", or "Majority of Journalist-Americans think President Trump is abusing his powers", but not the majority of Patriotic-Hard Working-Tax Paying-Americans.

---
Random Thought: Of all the ways to get people listen to your ideas, ANGER is the least effective to rally long lasting support.

---
From the "now we understand why Fox parted ways with Gretchen Carlson" department - Online story: " (Carlson) quoted a December 2015 poll showing majority support for an “assault weapons” ban and said, “I’m with the majority today, taking a stand.” *  Interestingly, when confronted by Second Amendment supporters on Twitter, Carlson doubled down on her pro-ban stance, claiming that “the fact that you’re even using the Second Amendment as an argument against banning assault weapons shows me you’re ignorant. Don’t you know the 2nd Amendment was written before guns were even invented?”" -- Our "2nd Amendment was written BEFORE guns were invented"?  While the first use of a "firearm was recorded in Sweden during the 5th Century, use of what we refer to as "guns" appeared in 1364. I learned this from a PBS website so even liberals should know better.

---
Online headline/story: "MSNBC fires Greta Van Susteren, replaces her with liberal host *  Greta Van Susteren is out at MSNBC less than six months after she started at the cable channel. * MSNBC said that Van Susteren's nightly 6 p.m. show would be replaced with one hosted by Ari Melber, MSNBC's chief legal correspondent who also hosts his own weekend show, "The Point." -- Hmmm.. While not surprised that Van Susteren wasn't "liberal enough" (DOH! MSNBC's most popular host is Rachel Maddow.), MSNBC has another problem it will have to explain.. MSNBC fired a woman and replaced her with a man....

---
L-E headline: "Georgia Power Company spokesman explains why they're closing Columbus payment center" -- Hmmm.. sounds more like GA Power is no longer interested in being a participating "citizen" in Columbus... GA Power is eliminating local jobs, eliminating paying local property and B.I.D. taxes, and happy to let customers "pay fees" for the "privilege" of paying their bills to other bill payment agents. Hey, PSC, GA Power's expenses are going DOWN... how about adjusting their "rates" down...

---
Online headline/story: "NJ millionaires-on-welfare bust: More arrests to come, prosecutor says *  The seven wealthy New Jersey couples, including a rabbi and his wife, who allegedly gamed the system to collect about $2 million in unmerited welfare benefits may just be the tip of the iceberg. *  One of the couples allegedly received Medicaid benefits for multiple years despite their annual income of more than $1 million, the complaint said." -- Hmmm.. wanna bet that none of them was a Trump voter in 2016?

---
Online headline: "Study finds US city with the worst drivers" -- I'm wondering how Columbus didn't make this "list", but then I realize, the two-week narrowing of 13th Street wasn't factored in..

---
HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "President Trump 'obsessed with former President Obama,' columnist claims * President Donald Trump has spent much of the first six months of his presidency promoting his own agenda, but he's also worked to dismantle some of his predecessor's achievements. * In an op-ed in the NYT. columnist Charles Blow argued President's Trump's actions prove he's absorbed withe the former president's successes. -- "(Trump's) absorbed withe the former president's successes"?  Good grief.. Obama's "sucessess" would take less than 2 minutes to dismantle.. it's his failures that are taking so much time for a weak Congress to dissolve.

---
From the "only in California" and the "when you imagined California had no room to grow insanity wise" departments - Online headline/story: "San Francisco to pay $190G to undocumented immigrant over sanctuary law violation, lawyer says *  A man from El Salvador in the U.S. illegally who sued San Francisco after police turned him over to immigration authorities in violation of the city's sanctuary law is set to be awarded $190,000 *  A man from El Salvador in the U.S. illegally who sued San Francisco after police turned him over to immigration authorities in violation of the city's sanctuary law is set to be awarded $190,000" -- Good grief.. not only should San Francisco be cut completely off any more fed tax funds, but San Francisco should be sued for the return of previous fed tax funds!  Now.. how did the man get a car/driver's licence, and was he illegally registered to vote via California's "motor-voter" laws?

---
What's the latest in finishing the Uptown Columbus rerouting 12th Street project?  It was a combination deal with rerouting 10th Street and 12th Street back into 2-way streets with bike lanes? I though the money was already reserved to do so.Personally, the first half of the project (10th Street) is a commercial disaster, but... Council needs to either finish it or apologize for wasting money and correct the damage already created.

---
Wow! The first half of 2017 ends tonight at midnight..

---
Mainscream media is dumbstruck at how Trump "punches back" when they get too big for their britches.. yet not one of the leftist rebuked Obama in 2011 when he filleted Trump at the White House Correspondents Dinner while Trump had no opportunity to respond.

---
Trump is getting excoriated for "attacking" the woman co-host of "Morning Joe".. In reality, Trump is just punching back at people who have gotten away with being bullies with microphones for so long that they feel entitled to be unaccountable for what they say.

---
Online story: "Gainesville and Hall County are in early talks to establish a land bank authority — a tool giving local governments broad powers to obtain properties that are blighted, vacant or on delinquent tax rolls — and put them back to productive use," -- Good grief.. please make sure Columbus Mayor Tom-LYINGson doesn't see this until after today's filing date passes! Makes her T.A.D.s picayunish when compared to taxpayer abuse potential.. While the "idea" feels good, name me a government project that has actually "put them (confiscated properties) back to PRODUCTIVE use".

---
With all the disappointments Columbus has suffered during the demise of the L-E, I really thought we'd seen the bottom and could not be disappointed in L-E "failures" anymore... but I am wrong.. it's 10 minutes to 8:00 AM and the e-dition of the L-E is nowhere in sight..  will include any accidental-in-value stories tomorrow, as I have more Breakfact Club reades waiting on me to wait any longer on the L-E.

The recent revelation of property values in the Columbus Park Crossing area not only should wake up the Tax Assessor's office, it ought to revive MCSB conversations about selling the near 44 acres it owns on Whitesville Road being used as a school bus repair shop and graveyard. It wasn't too long ago that Jay Auto sold 24 acres at $1 MILLION per acre, and now an acre on Whittlesey just sold for over $3 MILLION. The MCSD has room to move those buses and repair shop to the old Brown Avenue School property.

---
Tuesday morning, after going to the National Infantry Museum with my brother, we returned via N. Lumpkin Road/Brown Ave. Wanted to see why the City felt paying 50+ percent more for properties than assessed value was a good investment for the taxpayers.. Scratched my head as I rode by that purchase, but really became disappointed as we rode over the replacement bridge over the railroad tracks. I thought to myself, why would the City leaders feel rebuilding that bridge as a 2-lane road would be beneficial to revamping that area.

---
You know, liberals have plenty of "words" on how to "solve" racism.. unfortunately, their actions are counter-productive to getting better results.

---
Republicans could do a lot for their public image by remaining in session and knocking out their version of healthcare...with or without Democrats.

---
Right now , either party could endear itself just by making it clear that it is working for the good of the country rather than " the party".

---
Remember the hullabaloo when it was reported that Hunter Biden was having an affair with his deceased brother's widow..while he was separated from his wife. Anybody got a clue about what they are up to now? They are Democrats, so we know mainscream media is not going to keep us up-to-date.

---
I had to laugh a bit when Fox smugly reported about the demise of CNN's "credibility". Fox should be concerned about its own demise.. O'Reilly is gone, but Shepard Smith and Juan Williams are not...  to boot, Fox keeps bringing in liberal spinmeisters who will not abandon their "talking points" to engage in meaningful conversations.

---
L-E headline: "Starbucks’ iced coffee may have fecal bacteria in it — so do all these other things" -- Hmmm.. think I'll stick with what I brew at home.

---
L-E headline: "Traffic congestion a major challenge for Midland shopping development" --  Hmmm.. how about some double-decker round-a-bouts..or maybe figure-8s or tunnels?

---
Online headline: "Susan Rice suggests race, gender bias linked to 'unmasking' backlash" -- If lying about the truth won't get you out of the "fire", then throw down the "Race" card.. and if that doesn't work, either, throw down the "gender" card. Seems Rice is forgetting she joined in supporting the lies of a black male and a white woman so she hasn't "a leg to stand on".. Hey, Susan Rice.. no leg to stand on?; then why not throw down the "handicap"  card, too!

---
L-E story: " A Muscogee County School board member claims the board chair’s accusation that he violated an ethics clause has no support. The alleged ethics violations stems from Frank Myers’ willingness to be deposed in the case of Columbus teen Montravious Thomas. Montravious attended Edgewood Student Services Center in Fall 2016." -- Good grief.. EVERY MCSB member should be volunteering to bring the truth out in the open..A young man's life has been devastated.. not only by the physical injuries but by an attempt to cover the School Administration's butt.

---
Wanna give Mayor Tom-LYING-son your 2-cents on what you think about her handling Columbus' present,, and future..Here's the donation website of her college..(www,sbc.edu/give). Visit there and make a "2-cents" donation in her "memory"..

---
Wallethub has a new "list" out.. it names the 50 states in order of their "patriotism" based on 13 bits of criteria..GA was rated the 9th MOST patriotic..(and 4th in the most important category "Military Engagement"). What is most telling.. and least surprising is that the bottom 7 states on the list (ranked worst to worse - New Jersey, Illinois, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Connecticut, and California."
) all voted for Hellary in the 2016 Election.. and they account for 140 Electoral College votes.. which is 52% of all the Electoral College votes Hellary needed to win..

---
L-E headline/story: "Wondering about the water quality in the Chattahoochee River? There’s an app for that *  Rafters, boaters, swimmers and all other river lovers now have a way to check the Chattahoochee’s water quality any time through an app and website called Swim Guide." -- I'm sure this will be a valuable asset, but where can this "app" be acquired.. an extensive search on "Google Play Store" was fruitless..

---
L-E headline/story: "New law allows Fort Benning children to attend any MCSD school — well, almost *  Five MCSD schools aren’t accepting transfers under HB 224: Clubview and Dorothy Height elementary schools, because they don’t have space for additional students, and Britt David Magnet Academy, Columbus High School and Rainey-McCullers School of the Arts, because they are total magnet schools and require all students to apply" -- Hmm.. sorta like they can go anywhere they want to go.. except they can't go where they want to go..

---

L-E headline: "Synovus named Most Reputable Bank in America" -- How does Columbus benefit since the name "Columbus Bank and Trust" is being phased out?  It going from "the bank of here" to "the bank of where?".. Remember when Callaway Gardens changed its logo from "30 Minutes North of Columbus" to "A hour South of Atlanta"?  Hardly  worked out for Callaway Gardens..

Wednesday, June 28, 2017

From the "simple fact" department - Online story: "House Speaker Paul Ryan sat down with Fox & Friends Tuesday to defend the Senate Republican health care plan. * The Speaker was responding to the Congressional Budget Office report that said 22 million people would be uninsured by 2026 if the Senate's replacement bill passed. * "What they're basically saying at the Congressional Budget Office is if you're not going to force people to buy Obamacare, if you're not going to force people to buy something that they don't want, then they won't buy it. So, it's not that people are getting pushed off a plan, it's that people will choose not to buy something they don't like or want." -- Try as liberals try to make healthcare a US Constitutional issue, the Founding Fathers did not include an amendment guaranteeing nor mandating such.

---
From the "it's not one world" department - Online headline/story: "Reports: Unsuspecting Yazidi sex slave was fed her own child by ISIS *  Vian Dakhil, an Iraqi Parliament member who is also Yazidi, has reportedly revealed on television how a starved ISIS sex slave had been tricked into eating her own child * "One of the women we managed to retrieve from ISIS said that she was held in a cellar for three days without food or water. Afterwards, they brought her a plate of rice and meat, she ate the food because she was very hungry." *  "When she was finished they said to her: 'We cooked your one-year-old son that we took from you, and this is what you just ate.'" -- And libs/mainscream media believe this is tolerable..is culturally acceptable..  well. not in MY eyes.. not in God's eyes..

---
From the "and I agree" department - Bill Russell.. was presented the 1st NBA Lifetime Achievement Award as a player and coach of the Celtics.. (the Celtics were "my team" growing up). % NBA "giants" presented him with the Award..Kareem Abdul-Jabbar ( I remember his as Lew Alcindor) , Shaquille O'Neal, David Robinson, Alonso Mourning and Dikembe Mutombo. After accepting the award, the 83-year-old turned to the other stars, pointed to each one of them and whispered, "I would kick your ass." ...and he would have..

Bill Russell's accomplishments: 11 NBA championships as a player (nearly as many as the other five players have combined), and two more championships as a coach; five league MVP awards and 12 All-Star selections over a 13-year career.  I always wanted Number 6 as my basketball jersey number but it wasn't allowed in high school or college.

---
Yesterday, I picked my younger brother up, and we made a morning celebrating our older brother's "would have been" 74th birthday..We went to breakfast at a Columbus icon, Evelyn's, then went to the National Infantry Museum to see the new exhibit honoring our Revolutionary War and earlier warriors. We talked about our ancestors contributions to the founding and establisment of our Great (Again) country. It was a good day.. Miss you, bro.

---
With healthcare being such an important issue, why don't  the Senate Republicans stay in session and challenge the Democrats do the same?

---
From a WaPo editorial - Headline: "Jon Ossoff: I lost in Georgia; here's what Democrats won" -- Good grief..
the only thing the Democrats "won" was..  the DNC lost the highest cost Congressionial election EVER, and, to boot, the Democrats LOST in their effort to make Trump look weak..

---
Since the US Supreme Court has basically accepted Trump's "entry ban" for people from 6 countries with dysfunctional governments, and will take it up in the Fall session as for specifics, the US Supreme Court should issue blocks for the 9th and 4th District Courts of Appeal on hearing any more cases involving immigration.

---
Again I ask, how can one convert an IRA retirement account, (particularly a non-Roth IRA) to gold and keep it at home? I understood IRAs were retirement accounts to defer taxing revenues until later in life, and there are penalties for early withdrawals.

---
Mainscream media TV journalists are such crybabies... I'm glad the White House is shutting off cameras at press meetings..Reporting raw news and "sound bite" news from press briefings is not a good way to get accurate news to the public.

---
A fellow BCer (and former dependent of the City coffers) brought up a few of Mayor Tom-LYING-son's "achievements":
*Over $3,000,000 of tax payers money for law suits among government entities;
*Highest unemployment in the State for the most months;
*One of the lowest bond ratings of the City in recent times;
*One of the highest crime rates in recent times;

I'll add "worse maintained roads"

In fact, I have a new #1 road in the embarrassing road list.  Slade Drive.. It has bypassed 54th Street and the section of Warm Springs Road from Manchester Expressway to Ezell's Catfish Restaurant. What's particularly embarrassing is that Slade Drive is named for one of our oldest and most prominent Columbus families. There are many Slades in our history, but one Thomas Bogs Slade was married to the daughter of my great-grandfather's brother Richard Kirven, and TB Slade was in the Navy receiving team as the Stature of Liberty was delivered from France.

---
I actually heard a mainscream media head say Trump should curtail his ego.. Excuse me, but I think the "ego problem" is mainscream media.

---
L-E headline: "Council considers spending $1M to pay workers 40-hour bonus" -- Excuse me, but if the "20 hour" adjustment more than makes up for ALL the variables in converting to the new pay schedule (as claimed), why should Council spend unnecessary tax dollars on DOUBLING it? It's not a question of whether each employee is worth it or not, but one of being economically accountable to the taxpayers,

---
Uber-LIV's L-E "soundoff": 'Why not allow all the illegal immigrants to become resident aliens, not citizens, and no voting rights? Bring them into our tax system. Give them a green card. Stop trying to deport them." -- Hmmm.. can't you just see a gang of MS-13's signing up for "green cards" and enrolling into the tax system.. me neither. Tell you what though.. if this Uber-LIV will identify him/herself, and commit to letting an illegal alien live (and any future arriving family members) live in his.her home. I might consider listening to his/her further drivel.

---
Once again, the failure of our Tax Assessor's Offices erupts.. Chick-fil-A just bought the property at 5520 Whittlesey (Shogun) for over $3,000,000.00 dollars and is going to raze the existing building and erect it's own. On the surface, it just sounds like business as usual.. but.. our Tax Assessor has the site.. WITH a 10 year old, 68-- sq ft building at a Fair Market Assessment of $1,239,418.00 .. and taxes collected have been "only" $20,450.39, Quick math indicates that if the assessment value had been kept up with, around $50,000.00 could have been coming in annually. Ironically, the Mayor felt going after us deadbeat home owners was the course of action to take.

Wonder if the Mayor's new computer software will do any better?

Tuesday, June 27, 2017

Online headline: "3 CNN staffers are out over retracted Russia investigation story" -- Things are much worse at CNN than has been obvious.. revenues must really be "off" if CNN is firing people for running "fake news".

---
Got this email from Tim Kane and the DNC yesterday - "Hal, there's a simple fact about our party: Democratic values are American values." -- "American values"?  I hardly think violent protests during and AFTER the election is an "American value"... I hardly think "obstruction of justice" is an "American value"...and I hardly think sabotaging legislation to rewrite our taxes and failed healthcarew programs is an "American value". I just wonder which "America" the Democrats value.

---
I am curious...really..about folks that undergo gender reversal operations..are they interested in the now opposite sex.. or want relationships with their previous gender friends who weren't interested in the opposite sex?

---
Online story: "In Georgia, just 31 of the 180 state House districts featured both Republican and Democratic candidates, a nation-high uncontested rate of 83 percent." -- It's even worse in North Columbus.. where RINOs run unopposed because there's no reason for the Democrats to provide a differing viewpoint..

---
I hate to see a PAC taking credit for Handel's victory against the Democrat's "all in" effort to elect Ossoff to take over Tom Price's District 6 Congressional seat. It was Trump's supporters that answered the call.. the all out assault on the president.. I just hope Republican candidates understand what happened was not about money, but about ideology, and America's future.

---
From the "Red Allen.. How about that" department - L-E headline/story: "Chick-fil-A to go up at Shogun site at Columbus Park Crossing * There are currently five Chick-fil-A restaurants open in Columbus and one in Phenix City. The most recent one opened last week on Manchester Expressway" --  If I read this right, the success of Chick-fil-A demonstrates that the fastest growing industry in Columbus is Christian based.. that ought to send chills up and down the Democrats' backs.
---
From the "there is a light at the end of the tunnel" department - L-E story: "His request to postpone the agenda item wasn’t granted, but the Muscogee County School Board’s vote on a controversial matter during Monday night’s called meeting produced the same result District 8 representative Frank Myers had sought. * The board unanimously voted 8-0 to table until the July 11 work session the item board chairwoman Pat Hugley Green of District 1 had placed on the agenda: “Board consideration of hiring independent counsel for potential accreditation matters related to board conduct.”" -- Hmmm.. it's amazing how a little light shining into the darkness can illuminate the truth.. unfortunately, it's taken "floodlights" to bring the MCSB out of the darkness.

---
Another from the "there is a light at the end of the tunnel" department  - L-E story: "Columbus city officials don’t like using words like “withheld” or “missing” when referring to wages city employees won’t see in their paychecks come August." -- Hmmm.. and City employees and Columbus citizens do not like Council/Mayor totalitarianism or wasteful projects that eat into the fund balance.

---
Oh.. have you seen all the "Share the Road" half-signs put up to remind auto drivers to be alert? If the City is going to spend that much money on signs, why doesn't it put out complete signs... like "Share the Road/Share the Expenses".

---
From the "this is what happens when students are allowed ..pushed.. to achieve goals" department - L-E headline/story: "Jordan High’s auto program earns additional $65,000 * Team Red Jacket won the 2016 Quaker State “Best in Class Challenge” in December, prevailing among five finalists and 55 semifinalists in the six-week competition to restore and customize a classic Ford Mustang. As a result, their 1996 Mustang qualified for the Barrett-Jackson Auction in West Palm Beach, Fla., in April, when the buyer returned the car to Team Red Jacket and donated the $50,000 winning bid to Jordan’s automotive program after hearing the team’s inspiring story. *  That enabled Team Red Jacket to sell their car again. And during the Barrett-Jackson Northeast auction last week at the Mohegan Sun resort in Connecticut, the buyer also returned the car to Team Red Jacket and donated the $65,000 winning bid to Jordan’s automotive program. That will allow Team Red Jacket to sell the car a third time, at the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auction" -- America.. Americans .. respond to hard work and efforts.. This is what the MCSD "lesson plan" should be the  bringing to every student at every school.

---
L-E page 5A (one of the most overlooked pages) headline: "Supreme Court allows a version of Trump’s travel ban" -- While this is not over since the case will get full attention when the US Supreme Court reconvenes on "the First Monday in October", I do think the Court has set a bad precedence for duplicating lower court judges that by basically (even though temporarily) "legislating" from the bench.

---
L-E headline: "Analysis: Senate health bill would leave 22 million people uninsured" -- Good grief.. with what people now are paying for healthcare PLUS their deductibles, OObamaCRAP forced most people to buy insurance they cannot afford to use..

---
L-E headline/story: "Royal Cafe and Deli on way, menu to feature Thai rolled ice cream *  Royal Cafe and Deli is not connected to the popular Royal Cafe country cooking restaurant near downtown Columbus." -- Excuse me, but does anyone else see the obvious injunction the 11th Street Royal Cafe will bring .. probably by the time you read this? Wonder how many lawyers will jump on the opportunity as "pro bono"?

---

I use the L-E digital e-print version ( on time delivery as early as I rise, plus no cheap ink to get on my hands of bathrobe) at $99.00 annually, but can you imagine someone subscribing for a year of home delivery for over $500.00?  What I gather is the L-E is trying to eliminate any paper editions.. which, in turn, will eliminate any reason for the L-E to maintain any kind of office... or STAFF..  here in Columbus.

Monday, June 26, 2017

From the "Dolly Parton's: "Here You Come Again" hit archives" department - HuffPOOPOO "headLIE": "Poll: Trump's approval rating plummets after Senate releases health care bill" -- Good grief.. there was a "poll" last week.. it was called the GA District 6 Runoff, and Trump beat back the entire Democratic Party and mainscream media effort to win one Congressional seat.

---
From the "the NYT could have printed some news, but didn't" department - Online headline: "The New York Times used a full page to print all of 'Trump's lies' since taking office" -- Of course, the NYT could have printed a whole Sunday edition of Hellary's lies and scandals.

----
It's funny.. Democrats are criticizing the Republican Healthcare reform bill, but they don't talk about them having the opportunity to install a good one when they could do so...

----
From the "if we can't explain/prove something, let's speculate and promote innuendo" department - Online headline/story: "Trump appears to admit Russia meddled in the US election in a tweet criticizing Obama *  President Donald Trump appeared to admit that Russia interfered in the 2016 US presidential election in a Friday night tweet in which he criticized Barack Obama for his handling of Russia's cybertattacks that were meant to swing the election away from Hillary Clinton. * "Just out: The Obama Administration knew far in advance of November 8th about election meddling by Russia. Did nothing about it. WHY," Trump asked." -- Good grief..mainscream media won't ask why Obama "knew" and didn't "do something" because mainscream media KNOWS the answer.. Obama KNEW Hellary was going to win, and Obama KNEW Russia couldn't actually change the results . Think about it,, what kind of influence could Russia have in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania? Those are the states that blue collar workers felt Hellary didn't care enough to address their needs, and Trump was there talking to them about what he would do for them..

---
From the "if we van't win with facts. let's explain my loss with dazzle and BS" department - Online "story": "Hillary Clinton isn't one to mince words and she recently ripped the GOP over their healthcare bill tweeting, "Forget death panels. If Republicans pass this bill, they're the death party." * She was retweeting a column written for the Center for American Progress, a liberal advocacy group and Harvard researchers that have claimed that anywhere from 18,000 to 28,000 people could very well die in 2026 if they were to lose their coverage due to the new healthcare policy." --  "18,000 to 28,000 people could very well die in 2026"?  Good grief.. in the first 6 months of 2017, over 500,000 fetuses have died of abortions alone.. cut backs to Planned Parenthood alone will save the lives of many millions by 2026.

---
Saw local radio celebrity Bear O'Brian Saturday night at the Denim & Diamonds Concert..... .he looks the same now as when I first met him 40 +/- years ago..haven't decided whether he still looks as young now, or whether he just looked OLD back then.

---
Meant to mention this last week when I first saw it, but after years of "repair", Cherokee Avenue by the Country Club is a 4-lane road again...was beginning to think that it would be a mayoral campaign issue NEXT year.

---
L-E headline: "COMMENTARY * Howard is best coach area has known * BY CHUCK WILLIAMS" --
Bobby Howard.. I call him a friend.. I call him a most successful coach, but I also remember Larry Oswalt in his short heyday.. Oswalt made the "benchwarmers" want to hustle in practice.. Oswalt made everyone want to be praised because it was hard earned and  gratifying.. neither Hyatt nor Williams knew the Oswalt his 60s players did. I'm saddened that Columbus won't get to watch Bobby Howard rack up his 1,000th  "W" next season.

---
I just read about a new local-area brand of water.. exceptionally "pure" water... being sold in cans.. excuse me, but why would I want to buy water sold in, I assume, aluminum cans?

---
L-E headline: "Depp apologizes for ‘assassin’ comments" -- That's not enough.. Depp needs to apologize for his Jack Sparrow role.. and .. ESPECIALLY..for his role as "Tonto".

---

L-E story: "When voters cast ballots for state representatives last fall, millions of Americans essentially had no choice: In 42 percent of all such elections, candidates faced no major party opponents." -- And too many of those had only RINOs running which basically means, only conservatives did not have a choice.

Saturday, June 24, 2017

Online headline: "Dennis Rodman defends North Korea, takes credit for Otto Warmbier’s release" -- Hmmm.. I think I know why Kim Jong Oooops likes Rodman.. compared to Rodman, Kim Jong Ooooops looks and sounds more normal.

---
Online headline: "Johnny Depp issues an apology for his 'bad joke' about the assassination of President Trump" -- Dump Johnny DUMP!

----
Michael Bell....one of Obama's early release "non-violent" drug felons...out 5 years early..rearrested on assault & drug charges...grabbed a court house deputy's gun and shot/wounded two of them...at least he killed himself.. but Bell is but 1 of 6000 released early by Obama...

---
From the "Democrat promises, especially California Democrat promises,  are never kept if there is money involved" department - Online headline/story: "California bans travel to Alabama, 7 other states, but Crimson Tide game with Fresno State still on * California's Attorney General said the state is pulling the plug on state-sponsored travel to Alabama and three other places - Kentucky, South Dakota and Texas. The addition brings the total number of states included in California's travel ban to eight, with Kansas, Mississippi, North Carolina and Tennessee placed on the off-limits list earlier this year. *  California's law, AB 1887, went into effect Jan. 1, 2017. It prohibits state-funded and state-sponsored travel to states with laws that authorize or require discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression or same-sex couples." -- Great law... NOT! Stupid even, to begin with,,, but,, yes, BUT all bets.. and promises are off when a big payday is in store..

---
Online story: "A Nebraska Democratic Party official was removed from his post on Thursday after an audio recording surfaced of him saying he's “glad” House Majority Whip Steve Scalise got shot last week. *  Phil Montag, now-former co-chair of the state party’s technology committee, was recorded saying he wishes Scalise, R-La., were “dead.” * “His whole job is to get people, convince Republicans to [expletive] kick people off [expletive] health care. I’m glad he got shot,” Montag said in the audio recording. “I wish he was [expletive] dead.” " -- The saddest thing is that this is only a CYA ploy for the Democrats.. he won't be shunned, he won't be really fired, he'll be back as soon as the Scalise is back on his feet.

---
From the "at least it's not the MCSD" department.. While the site "looks" like it is closed, a lot of "splaining" needs to be done about what's shown in these pics.. Dropping my beloved family member off for a couple of nights at his favorite "spa" (Northside Animal Hospital), I was faced with the following scenario.. Bluebird School Buses parked in the lot at the "Catwalk".. First I wondered if perhaps it was a field trip for some Sex Ed class, but it became more evident that Head Start in Troop County had placed these buses on view in an attempt to sell them. This raises more questions.. is the site allowed to be a "used bus" sales center?.. have any business license laws been broken/skirted in bringing out of county buses into Columbus to market?  Regardless, it's still a pretty poor decision.

---
Online headline: "Athens Rep. Jody Hice Wants to Carry a Gun Everywhere " -- You know.. at one time, my advice to him would have been, "just make good decisions, and you'll be safe".. but that no longer is true.. I'm not even thinking about the recent shooting of Congressman Scalise, either (though it does add more reason). Since Trump dropped his hat in the ring, Democratic Party tolerance for violence and hatred have escalated to the point Dems have no arguments left to assault the 2nd Amendment.

---
From the "hypocrisy at it's highest" department - Online story: "Britain’s Prince Harry has suggested that no one in the royal family really wishes to rise to the throne – and that it is duty, rather than desire, that prompts them to continue serving the British people." -- "a duty"? Good grief, then how about the "royal" nfamily vacating the palace and all get jobs.. Oh,, and be sue to leave "the people's" money and jewels.. and your desires.. where they belong!

---
L-E "headLIE/story": "Columbus marijuana advocacy group says ‘the prohibition days are over * The group now has an active Facebook page and meets every third T********* of the month at the Mellow Mushroom" -- "prohibition days are over’"? Oh.. and who appointed her King? Oh, too, and what a coincidence.. surprise. surprise, surprise.... the group meets at the Mellow Mushroom...

---

L-E headline: "Obama administration struggled to punish Russia" -- Of course it did... and after Obama went on his "apology tour", and refused to defend the "red line in the sad" he drew, what country would feel safe from Russia if Obama's Amwerica wasn't going to stand strong against Russia?

Friday, June 23, 2017

From the "how can we make the facts seem less dire in the headline" department - L-E headline/story: "Columbus unemployment rate climbs in May with increase in layoffs" -- Hmm. and the "truth is", "Fewer people were employed in Columbus this past May" Of course, the bottom 3 in GA... Columbus.. is sandwiched between Macon and Albany .. great job, Mayor Tom-LYING-son.. and you, too, Congressman Bishop...while the rest of America is soaring, Columbus and GA District 2 continue to flounder. It's a Democratic Party thing.

---
And it just keeps piling onto Mayor Tom-LYING-son's "legacy"-- New "list" "50 Worst Cities to Live In"

Yep. Columbus made it.. number 50! According to "24/7 Wall St.":

"While it is not the only factor, wealth can have a significant impact on a population's quality of life. The typical Columbus household earns just $41,859 a year, much lower than the median income nationwide of $55,775. In addition, goods and services are about 4% more expensive on average in Columbus than across the country as a whole. Further, it appears the regional economy is getting worse. While national employment increased by 4% between 2013 and 2015, employment in Columbus declined by 2.9%, the largest decline of the 551 cities reviewed.

High crime is an obvious hindrance to quality of life, and violent crime is relatively common in Columbus. There were 556 violent crimes reported for every 100,000 city residents in 2015 compared to a national violent crime rate of 373 incidents per 100,000 people. The city's property crime rate of 5,543 incidents per 100,000 residents in 2015 was more than double the national property crime rate of 2,487 per 100,000 people."  -- Hmmmm... Go ahead, and run for US Senate in 2020, Mayor Tom-LYING-son.. but remember.. you can "run".. but you cannot HIDE!

---
Jonathan Gruber....remember him..the "architect" of OObamaCRAP.. well he evaluated the Republican changes, and declared such will make OObamaCRAP "WORSE"...how about that, 2 Democrats telling the truth about Democrat policies in one week...First Washed-up Schultz calling Jeh Johnson a liar and now Gruber talking about how bad OObamaCRAP was from the inception. You know.. if the Republican rewrite makes OObamaCRAP "worse", then Democrats ought to endorse it unanimously.. it would be their "ticket" to getting re-elected in 2018... of course, we KNOW nothing the Republicans add could make it "worse".

---
You know, Senator Upchuck Schumer went to the Senate "well" with a visual aid sign that quoted President Trump declaring the OObamaCRAP replacement bill as "mean".. Hmmm .. doesn't  it follow that Upchuck should be FOR whatever Trump's against?

---
Now here's some common sense approach to how to get more people who don't want to buy insurance to do so. Make it illegal for tattoo parlors/artists to tattoo anyone unless they have proof of  insurance..it is a medical..even surgical procedure, and if a person can afford a body full of tats, he/she should be able to afford insurance.

---
Rachel Maddow blames the weather discouraged voters and, Ossoff blames millenial voters got locked in their bedrooms by their parents, and he didn't have enough support from the DNC... Let'em keep on believing what they want to believe, because it's how they will approach 2018. Of course, Maddow and Ossoff could have been right.. well. a little.. as rain does melt "snowflakes".

---
Now that the dust had settled after Tuesday's District 6 runoff, we see that mainscream media actually made a good call..it WAS a referendum about Trump...and Trump won..again!

---
We need to organize... organize to support Nancy Pelosi... we need her to run the Democratic Party campaign.. when her support fails, we need to be out there with support protests outside the DNC,, "Two More Years!"

---
A fellow BCer pointed out that the new hockey team name.."Burn" , will work in Columbus..when the next season starts, "Burn" will celebrate Mayor Yom-LYING-son's outgoing path of destruction she's "blazed" over her two terms in office.

---
Another BCer added.. Mark Cantrell.. the one on he MCSB.....since you will vote to hire a person based on an unvetted resume' and blind recommendation, I know a guy with 50 beautiful acres you should buy because he says it's a really good buy..PS..don't call a realtor who might let you know you can only access it wearing hip-waders.

---
Mark Cantrell... his name really seems to be popping up in all the wrong places recently.. not only did his vote seal Dr. Vicker's job, his vote also passed the millage increase on our taxes!

----
Am I seeing things.. or could Dr Lewis and School Attorney Ellington be the same person.. you know, with glasses hiding his alter-ego.. like Clark Kent/Superman..

-------------------------------------------------------
L-E story: "Hall of Fame baseball coach Bobby Howard on Thursday accepted the job as head coach at Cartersville High School, he confirmed. *  In 39 seasons as a head baseball coach, Howard’s teams have compiled a 985-296 record. * He ended his tenure at Columbus High on March 5, 2015, when he retired three games into the season with the Blue Devils’ record at 3-0." -- It's sad, in a way, that Bobby Howard will win his 1,000th game at one of Columbus High's "arch rivals" and probably in Cartersville rather than the Columbus area.. Hmmm.. Dr Lewis.. we do not "thank you".

---
L-E headline: "Mayor answers variety of questions at public forum" -- Of course, she didn't answer any of the important ones...

---

I've come to look forward to the Friday editions of the Columbus L-E .. Natalia Naman Temesgen, a Columbus raised CSU professor, playwright, and weekly columnist brings fresh insight to age old problems and solutions.. make it a point to find her Friday columns...

Online headline: "Some Democrats are starting to turn their ire toward Nancy Pelosi" -- Shhh.. don't talk about this too loud.. more Democrats might hear us and do something about it..

---
Dems still don't get it.. even after their devastating loss in GA's District 6 race, they feel pushing for a $15.00 minimum wage is the key to their return to power... good grief.. the $15.00 per hour theme is about buying votes of people who have no clue about creating jobs or improving the economy. Ironically, every business owner would love it if every employee was productive enough to EARN $15.00 and hour at a minimum... our economy would be SOARING!

---
From the "it was bound to happen one" department - Online headline: "BREAKING: Wasserman-Schultz Accuses Jeh Johnson of LYING" -- We knew it would happen one day, and knew it would not be Hellary or Obama. but who'd think that Debbie Washed-up Schultz would be the first Democrat to publicly tell the truth?

---
So...it was Comey who prosecuted Martha Stewart ...for lying during a federal investigation...hmmm.. about the only way to convict someone of lying to a federal agent is to have recorded the interviews to playback in court. Hmmm, and Comey wants us to believe that it was procedure when he didn't have Hellary recorded

---
Online headline: "CNN THREATENS TO STOP COVERING THE WHITE HOUSE" -- Hmmm.. and what would be the difference.. CNN has always "reported" whatever it wants rather than deal with the truth.

---
Fresh off the devastation of Ossoff in GA's 6th District runoff, another Democrat is throwing herself into the 2018 7th District primary.. Kathleen Allen opened up with "“I don’t want to tell my community what they should care about,” Allen said. “I want to know what they do care about so that I truly represent everyone in our district.” -- Yeah right.. told you the Democrats don't listen.. if they did, they'd have heard loud and clear of what Americans want by the results in District 6.. no more DEMOCRATS!

---
Mark Cantrell must go! How can any businessman vote to hire an employee on a blind recommedation

---
Let's parse MCSB member Mark Cantrell's future...after voting for an unvetted employee based on an unverified resume or recommendation, Cantrell has pretty much ''Mark-ed" himself also-ran in his 2018 re-election bid.. post early if you're lining up to replace him.

---
The Tuesday GA District 6 failure by the Democrats did even more damage than just blowing $40+ MILLION on a Congressional race. The win by Handel bolstered the strength of Trump, and probably has dampened liberals enthusiasm to donate to the Democrats in the near future.

---
L-E headline/story: "Ramadan's month of fasting brings Muslims closer to God and family * Not one bite of food or sip of water from sunup to sundown. No alcohol. No sex. No tobacco." --  Maybe Muslims are praying to a god, but not my God...My God's plans for us is for us to prosper, not deprive our families.

---
L-E "headLIE" : "Democrats seethe over loss in Georgia * AMONG DEMOCRATS WAS A SENSE OF URGENCY ABOUT CRAFTING A POSITIVE AGENDA AROUND KITCHEN-TABLE ISSUES." -- The more accurate headline would have been, "Democrats SELF-DESTRUCT over loss in Georgia", and why would voters respond to Dems johnny-come-lately decision to " CRAFTING A POSITIVE AGENDA AROUND KITCHEN-TABLE ISSUES"...this would only amount to another campaign of promises that we already know Dems won't keep once they get to office..

---
From the "now we know how Comey could lie about there being nothing to prosecute Hellary on and keep a straight face" department - L-E headline/story: "FBI: Gunman who shot lawmaker had no target * the gunman who shot a top House Republican and four other people on a Virginia baseball field didn’t have concrete plans to inflict violence on the Republicans he loathed, FBI officials said Wednesday."  -- "didn't have concrete plans"?  Of course he did have a LIST of Republicans he wanted to kill! That seems "pretty concrete" to me!

---
From the "how does mainscream media know something and the Democrats don't" department - L-E headline/story: "GOP health plan really a rollback of Medicaid *  The bill, of course, would modify changes to the health system brought by Obamacare. But it would also permanently restructure Medicaid, which covers tens of millions of poor or disabled Americans" -- You know.. we listen to Schumer and Pelosi saying Republicans are keeping everything a secret but then mainscream media says it knows exactly what's in it.. . go figure.

---
Those incessant "Together 2017" ads I periodoically mention... well, this is taken from the "www.buildingabettercolumbus.com" webpage:

"Together 2017 is a campaign where our region’s business and community leaders do what they do best: partner together, combine energy with resources, invest in our community and promote our community’s brand and quality of life.

There are two distinct aspects of Together 2017: the first aspect is a year-long cross-platform media campaign using both digital and traditional advertising to generate excitement around Together 2017 and to elevate the brand of Columbus and the Chattahoochee Valley region. The second aspect is the creation of a fund that will be used to support community projects that make our region a better place to live and work."

" Two aspects": 1 -to elevate the brand of Columbus and the Chattahoochee Valley region -- From all the incessant ads, I do believe these folks have elevated themselves.
2 - "creation of a fund that will be used to support community projects" -- Well, from the number of ads run, and the cost of such, I do believe a huge fund would already exist if these folks just put this ad money into an account rather than into the L-E coffers.

Spent last night flipping back & forth between real TV and CNN (figured it was Atlanta based and would be more involved in the District 6 race). Enjoyed immensely as results came in and watching Anderson Cooper's smile droop as the night went on..reminded me of November 8, 2016 as Trump took the lead.

---
Looks like last night's results will trigger a new sequel to the "Wizard of OZ".  The working title will be.. The Ding Dong Witch is Dead".. Pelosi is a sure bet for the lead...

---
Last night put a big $50,000,000.00 hole in the Democratic Party purse...it also was a wake up call for RINOs for the 2018 Republican primaries... Handel campaigned supporting Trump and defeated the National Democrat efforts "Handel-ly".

---
The amount of money the Democratic Party  spent on GA District 6 (or is it District 4b) Congressional special election proved but one thing, the Democrats will spend obscene amounts of money to elect people to spend other people's money on government giveaway programs.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Ken just got a huge diversity makeover -- and we're so excited" -- Hmmm.. well, Mattel forgot a couple of aspects bit of diversity... a normal Ken...and a taller Ken.

---
Looks like Illinois may be hitting the "Perfecta".. Illinois is pretty much Morally and Fiscally Bankrupt...yet it cannot declare so for relief... by law..

---
I think it should be MANDATORY that Superintendent Lewis reveal the name of the person who gave him such a glowing recommendation to him about Dr Angela Vickers that he would offer her a high paying job.. sight unseen! A two year old story from the Tampa Bay Times reveals she was demoted from a principal's post  of a school with a failing history, and basically stuck in an alternative school. If this is what her resume was "built on" then the MCSD should never offer anyone a job based on his/her resume without a thorough vetting.

Online headline/story: "Rising unemployment pushes Hawaii to consider universal basic income * If you're unfamiliar with the concept, you can learn more about it here. But the gist of it is that everyone in a society receives a guaranteed income to cover the costs of needs such as shelter and food. *  The cost of living in Hawaii is higher than in any other state in the U.S., and if already low-paying service jobs disappear, Hawaii's already immense homelessness crisis may surge. The UBI would hopefully alleviate that problem." -- Good grief.. this is the ultimate goal of Democrats... their plans are fraught with "good intentions" but collapse under their own weight.. No matter what they see as a "Universal Basic Income (read minimum wage)" , the poverty level will always be higher and the number of recipients will continually.. grow exponentially. The end result will always be the same..  chaos and failure.

---
Online headline: "State Department probes Clinton handling of government emails, could pull her security clearance" -- "could pull her security clearance"? Good grief.. and for that matter, why does any former politician or government employee have ANY kind of security clearance?

---
Without a doubt, Allstate Insurance is running the best ad on TV now. I don't believe any dad cannot associate with the man driving along, basically talking to himself as his wife and children are engrossed with their smart phones.

---
You know, governments wanting to raise gas taxes is a real "Catch 22"..National Congresspersons have fought to make cars use less gas (therefore pay less in taxes, too) so we have ended up with more cars on the road using less gas, so states are getting less in tax revenues. Seems like what we have his is a failure for state and federal Congresses to communicate.

---
I read that NBC was not interested in picking up "Last Man Standing".. Seriously,, did anyone think NBC would? Of course, NBC said it was declining because it had "no room" in it's current "line up", but considering that not many people watch any of NBC's current "line up", ypou know that is not the real reason.

Random thought: If my petite wife and "big" me go to a restaurant, and order the same meal, our plates are fixed petty much identical.. and most of the time we have food left on the plate.. wish a restaurant would offer 3 different sized versions.. priced accordingly.. it would get our attention and business. Of course, if we go to one of the trendy millennial, the portions won't fill my wife, so how do you think I feel looking at what they serve me...

It's officially SUMMER! School starts in 6-to-8 weeks .. that ought to be a crime!

Today is a big day in GA politics.. after a $50 MILLION dollar spending campaign, will Democrats be able to buy the GA 6th District Congressional seat for an out-of-district candidate? If you have friends in District 6, contact them to remind them that their district's integrity is being compromised by out of state money and an out of district candidate. Better yet, drive up and cast a provisional vote. why not.. if an out-of-district candidate can run, why shouldn't out-of-district, but registered in GA voters vote?

---
More than $42 MILLION has been spent on TV and Radio ads for the District 6 Congressional race..isn't it about time that reins are put on the sheer amounts that can be bought? It's gotten to the point that whomever spends the most on such media is bound to curry favor and bias of the audio/visual media just based on the money spent rather than the positions candidates advocate.

---
From the "what short memories you Democrats have, grandma" department - HuffPOOPOO story: "Democrats slammed Republicans in a series of motions and speeches for holding private meetings to craft a replacement for Obamacare. They asked for the bill to be submitted to open committee hearings before it's subjected to a Senate vote, which Republicans say could come before the chamber's July 4 recess even though a draft has yet to be seen publicly." -- Good grief.. in 2010, when Democrats alone passed ObamaCRAP, no Republicans had a word in the construction, and the vote was taken without even non-committee Democrats knowing what was in the bill until they voted for it.

---
Kim Jong Oooops cut it real close.. Otto Warmbier died in American soil a few days after being released from a North Koreamn prison. You know, if Obama was still president.. or if Hellary was elected, Warmbier's family would not have been with him when he died.

---
Online headline: "Barack Obama to receive Kennedy Library's 'Profiles in Courage' award" -- Wow.. the Kennedy's get one last "stick the fork in" moment with Hellary..

----
The "DOH" headline of the week - "Colin Kaepernick's protest may be hurting his career".. "may"? Hmm.. first it's not "may", but even more damaging is his attitude..

---
Online headline: ":Cross in Pensacola park must come down, violates Constitution federal judge rules" -- Excuse me.. but how can denying the majority  it's protection under the 1st Amendment be struck down by a lower Federal Court? The Founding Fathers concept was "majority rule" with consideration for the minority..

---
L-E :headline: "America’s tech titans think Trump doesn’t get their needs" -- You know.. it's not all about what "tech titans" want.. Trump is looking at changes in the H-1B Visa program that will allow specialty foreign workers into our country but not at the expense of American jobs. Trump has no problem with higher paid positions, but does when out-of-country workers are brought in just to replace higher paid Americans.

---
Online headline/story: "Scalise attack was 'to some degree self-inflicted' claims CBS's Scott Pelley *  Thursday evening, CBS's Scott Pelley, who officially ended his tenure as the network's Evening News anchor the following evening, told viewers that "It's time to ask whether the attack on the United States Congress Wednesday was foreseeable, predictable and, to some degree, self-inflicted. *  It's clear from Pelley's subsequent commentary that his answers to all three elements are "Yes." It's equally clear from the examples he supplied as support that he sees (or wants viewers to see) the problem as predominantly about the conduct of those on the right." -- CBS has got to understand that you can't fire someone and give them a microphone on his.her way out the door.. Pelley will probably be hired as the next spokesperson for Schumer or Pelosi..

---
You know, the number one question mainscream media should be focused on is why mainscream media seems to focus only on negative stories about America becoming Great Again...of course, the answer is pretty easy..downright obvious in my book, it's just easier to print inuendo and rumor than dig up facts

Random thought in Letter-to-the-Editor form:

In a Monday's L-E story, Dr Lewis is attributed to saying,

'he does not personally know Vickers but that she comes highly recommended, has a

“wealth of experience” and is “the best fit for our needs right now.” -- doesn't

personally know Vickers... but the best fit for our needs?

Good grief! If this is not a confession of ineptitude, then Webster

needs to redefine it in its dictionaries! How does Lewis hire a person he don't know over

people he DOES know without condemning them ... and himself...

This is the second time this Spring that Lewis has tried to pawn off problems by

bringing in outside people to solve local problems. Now, I want to know who was the

guru Lewis got the glowing recommendation for Vickers.. one, because the board

should contact  that person and see if he/she was simply getting rid of a person under

his/her command, and two, whether the board ought to hire said guru to replace Lewis!

Monday, June 19, 2017

From the "I do not, no one should, condone, but am not surprised " department - Online headline/story: "Van rams worshippers leaving London mosque, injuring 10 * A van plowed into worshippers leaving a London mosque on Monday, injuring 10 people in what witnesses said was a deliberate attack on Muslims.* The mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said extra police had been deployed to reassure communities, especially those observing Ramadan, describing the attack as "an assault on all our shared values of tolerance, freedom and respect"." --
Sadiq Khan had me until he threw the "shared values of tolerance, freedom and respect" card.. Unfortunately, he never uttered such sympathy following the multiple.. and similar.. Islamic jihadists attacks in London at other places in recent times.

---
HuffPOOPOO story: "Six members of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS (PACHA) resigned recently. * One of them, Scott Schoettes, described their rationale for resigning in a Newsweek op-ed titled, "TRUMP DOESN'T CARE ABOUT HIV. WE'RE OUTTA HERE." * "The Trump Administration has no strategy to address the on-going HIV/AIDS epidemic, seeks zero input from experts to formulate HIV policy, and—most concerning—pushes legislation that will harm people living with HIV and halt or reverse important gains made in the fight against this disease," Schoettes added." -- You know.. only a closed-minded person walks away from an opportunity to participate in a discussion, and that /those people are responsible if nothing gets done...Now, what exactly have these "experts" added/accomplished to solving the problem? AIDS has been a huge focus since the late 70s.. so it's not something that has being ignored by Trump, so the problem may be that these "experts" actually have had little impact and Trump has challenged them on their motives/approach they bring to the solutions.

---
From "the (Democratic) Party's over" department - When we saw such hopeful pictures of Democrats praying following the shooting of Republican Rep. Steve Scalise, and Democrats joined Republicans in prayer at 2nd base at the game the next night, we had hope that maybe such violence would unite the Dems/Repubs in better serving the needs of the country... but.... BUT then the balloon bursts.. Online headline/story: "Congressional staffers boo Trump at unity baseball game * Dozens of congressional staffers erupted into boos, jeers and even vulgar gesticulations Thursday when President Trump appeared in a video at the Congressional Baseball Game at Nationals Park." -- Hmmm.. now we have to wonder what the Democrats were praying for at 2nd base..

---
From the Council Agenda in the L-E: "AMMUNITION FOR SHER-IFF’S DEPARTMENT - COOPERATIVE PURCHASE: GEORGIA STATEWIDE CONTRACT- It is requested that council approve the purchase of new ammunition from Golf States Distributors (Montgomery, Ala.), in the amount of, $18,900 by cooperative purchase via Georgia statewide contract. The ammunition will be used by the Sheriff’s Department to replenish duty ammunition for all sworn officers." -- Hmmm... two questions.. why is GA giving an Alabama company a statewide contract, and "Do we need $18,000.00 worth of "duty ammunition"? How much shooting is going on by law enforcement on the streets that we don't hear about?

---
Online story: "Administrators of Monta Vista High School in Cupertino, California are being blasted by African-American leaders for not taking action following the discovery of a hit list targeting black students last fall." -- Since so much is being made about racism/racial hatred, I'm wondering why there was no mention of the race/races of the students responsible..It is in California...

---
Golf has changed...maybe even transitioned. From wooden drivers and respectful viewers, to metal/composite drivers and fans straight out of Happy Gilmore...and I like it....sometimes, but somebody needs to stick a sock in the mouth of that one guy who stands next to the announcers microphone and yells, " GET IN THE HOLE" when players tee off on par 5s.

---
Online story: "On Saturday, MSNBC propagandist Joy Reid angered a numbered of people when she suggested that Rep. Steve Scalise deserved to be shot because of his voting record. * “Rep. #Scalise was shot by a white man with a violent background, and saved by a black lesbian police officer, and yet…” she wrote, in a tweet with a graphic of Scalise’s record." -- You know.. we should be use to MSNBC crap like this..but we aren't because we are caring people.. but this crap is the only way MSNBC can "get out it's message"..that more than a handful of people will actually see it.

---
L-E story: ":Superintendent David Lewis has recommended Angela Vickers, the supervisor of educational leadership for the Hillsborough County School District in Tampa, Fla., to replace Melvin Blackwell as chief student services officer. * At a work session last week, Lewis said he does not personally know Vickers but that she comes highly recommended, has a “wealth of experience” and is “the best fit for our needs right now.” -- "doesn't personally know Vickers... but the best fit for our needs"? Good grief! If this is not a confession of ineptitude, then Webster needs to redefine it in its dictionaries! How does Lewis hire a person he don't know over people he DOES know without condemning them and himself...

---
From same L-E story above: "Lewis is asking the board to renew the contract for Catapult Academy which provides academic services for students who are not high school graduates and have dropped out of school. Since its inception in 2015, 200 students have graduated from Catapult Academy. The budgetary impact is expected to be $432,000 annually. That is subject to approval of the FY18 budget." -- Let's crunch some numbers.. if 200 have "graduated" in the past 2 (or 3 years), the either 100 or close to 70 are being "graduated" annually.. at that rate, using $432,000.00 as the "cost", the cost per student "graduating" is between $4,300 and $6,200. Since the state gives us between $9,000-$10,000 per student, "we" are netting between $2,800 to $5,700 per student.. Why don't we replace Lewis with the Catapult administration, and reaping the benefits of 32,000 students being educated at much lower costs?

---
Also from the above L-E story: "Scheduled to speak at the public agenda are Ollie Tarver, Shanda Andrews and Theresa El-Amin. The subject matter was not given." -- Theresa El-Amin is speaking.. and the MCSB/L-E doesn't know what her "subject matter" is.. gimme a break..

---

From the "they had going for a moment" department -- L-E story: "North Korea accuses U.S. of ‘mugging’ its diplomats in N.Y. *  A North Korean delegation, returning home from a U.N. conference in New York, was about to board a plane Friday when more than 20 agents and police officers from the Department of Homeland Security confiscated the package, *  North Korea said its delegation was returning home after attending a session of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities." -- "after attending a session of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities"? Good grief.. after how Kim Jong Oooops handled Otto Warmbier, a delegation of Oooops' cronies claiming they are interested in Rights of Persons with Disabilities was an obvious cover-up for a spying venture.

Back on schedule.. complete screw up by Spectrum/Charter... avoidable screw up as well.. no excuse screw up... looking into alternatives for the future.

---
Trump was magnificent in Miami yesterday.. he's keeping his promises!

---
Online headline/story: "Trump says he's under investigation, takes swipe at Rosenstein * "I am being investigated for firing the FBI Director by the man who told me to fire the FBI Director! Witch Hunt," Trump wrote." -- I guess the sequence makes sense to mainscream media.. but it looks like Trump has some more "firing" to do.

---
Online story: "After a shooter in Alexandria left House Majority Whip Steve Scalise in critical condition and wounded four other people, a longtime New Jersey Democratic political strategist responded by introducing the hashtags #HuntRepublicans and #HuntRepublicanCongressmen. * The Democratic strategist also wrote on Facebook that he had “little sympathy” for Scalise because of his lack of support for gun control." -- James Devine.. Remember the name...Devine has run for office, consulted for numerous New Jersey campaigns, and worked in the offices of state lawmakers.

---
L-E story: "Congressman Sanford D. Bishop Jr. said Thursday he is pleased with the passage by the U.S. House Appropriations Subcommittee on Military Construction and Veterans Affairs of the first of 12 spending bills that the House will consider for FY2018 appropriations. * According to a press release, included in that bill is $28 million for a Fort Benning training support facility and $10.8 million for a Fort Benning air traffic support tower. * Bishop, who represents Georgia’s 2nd Congressional District, is a senior member of the committee." -- Good grief.. Bishop had "zip" \to do with his.. The Republicans approved this, and Trump signed it.. Bishop just "tagged along" to get his name and possible picture in the newspaper..

---
You know.. back in the mid-60s, I asked my grandfather (84 at the time) if he had any regrets in life.. His initial response was , "no".. then he mulled it a bit, and said, "I do have one..:I didn't buy the Ledger  back in 1930 when Julian Harris, his to-be-lifetime-friend, came to me.. I thought about his offer, but told him "no" because if I did, the first thing I'd have to do was fire him as he didn't have the business skills top run the paper"... I bring  this up, as somebody suggested that "someone.. how about you, needs to buy the L-E so Columbus can have a good newspaper going into the future". I told him that the L-E/McClatchy has about guaranteed this can not happen.. It's no longer a simple buy-out. A new owner can not step in to an existing situation and just "change things". The L-E is no longer a real business here.. it doesn't have a printing facility and basically just leases office space. To start up a new paper, one will have to build/buy a building, and purchase all the printing equipment, and with the few subscribers/advertisers the L-E currently has, the numbers would not dictate it being a smart investment.. Sorry to say this, but Columbus' future identity is in trouble.

I like Jeff Sessions. America has a great Attorney General after 8 years of White House lapdogs.

---
I'm not sure why, but isn't it nice, though odd, that we hardly know whether Jesse Jackson or Al Sharlatan are still working? Seriously, where are they?

---
Just heard an ad about converting your IRA account into GOLD, which you can then keep at home....hmmm ..wait a minute.."keep at home"? I thought IRA's were set up for personal savings, but with the government "keeping it" under lock and key until you retired.

---
Online story: "Rolling Stone will pay a University of Virginia fraternity $1.65 million, settling the lawsuit over a 2014 discredited story about a campus rape, a report said." -- Hmm.. now total justice would be that the VA fraternity take the $1.65 MILLION, buy manure and have it dropped on/in the Rolling Stones offices.

---
L-E headline: "U.S. looks to troop surge in Afghanistan" -- Adding 4,000 more troops? How about restoring America's presence to a safer level after Obama left 5,500-to-8,000 American soldiers without someone covering their backs...

---
L-E commentary headline: "We should call domestic terror what it really is" -- Yes! And the definitive name is "The Democratic Party Political Playbook To Return to Power".

---

L-E headline/story: "Former Brookstone standout Clark leads Southeastern Amateur * (Former Brookstone standout and current Georgia Tech golfer James) Clark leads at 15-under, followed by Jonathan Hardee of Boiling Springs, S.C., at 13-under and Dillon Woods of Jacksonville, Fla., at 10-under. * Ben Carr, a senior-to-be at Columbus High, is 3-under after three rounds, shooting 69 each day." -- Finally... the L-E "mentions" that the 88th Southeastern Amateur exists and is being played.. and that 3 golfers left after the cut, including the leader, are from Columbus.. Of course, only 2 of the 88 players from around the country NOT from Columbus will have need to take souvenir copies of the L-E home with them as the L-E has completely IGNORED the other 86's presence and contribution (physical and FISCAL) to our community.

Finally back online with my computer

Make up day

Posting items from wednesday-friday;

From the "how can we word it worse" department - HuffPOOPOO "headLIE": "Trump disapproval rating hits new record high" -- Hmmm ... in other words, a "new record high.. low"? Maybe among politicians.. but when someone is making much needed  and drastic changes, some feathers are going to be ruffled.. On the other hand, yesterday,  the stock market reached an ALL TIME HIGH.. and believe me, this is what history will celebrate.

---
You know, if there is a voter revolt in the 2018 Congressional races, it won't be that voters are voting against Trump, they will be voting against Republicans who are fighting Trump.

---
From the "Well , here's another nice mess you've gotten me into " department - Online headline: "Defense Secretary Jim Mattis says US is 'not winning' in Afghanistan" -- Hmmm.. let's look.. in 2009, Obama raise troop deployment there to 100,000.. and when he left office, he had reduced troops down to 8,400..(and his plan was to get it down to 5,500).. do the math.. of course we aren't "winning"!

---
Another from the "Well , here's another nice mess you've gotten me into " department - Online story: "Texas resident and non-violent drug offender Carol Denise Richardson was one of the lucky inmates to have their sentences commuted by former President Barack Obama. *  Richardson was sentenced to serve time in prison for theft of $60 worth of laundry detergent as well as violating the terms of her release, reports the Houston Chronicle. She was said to have stolen the detergent with an intention to sell it in order to buy crack cocaine. * "This defendant was literally given a second chance to become a productive member of society and has wasted it," said Assistant U.S. Attorney Ted Imperato. * "She has clearly shown a willful disregard for the law and must face the consequences for her crimes and actions." * Richardson will spend 14 months in federal prison and five years on supervised release." -- Hmmm.. the fallacy of labeling drug crimes as "non-violent".. there is always an "upheaval".

The Congressional baseball game proved one thing definitively..that Democrats play better when Pelosi is not in the line-up.

---
I still wish the Congressional game was changed so that Republicans played the RINOs.. As it was, it looked like the RINOs were helping the Dems

---

Nancy Pelosi said the new healthcare bill is being kept from the public... hmmm...didn't Pelosi keep OObamaCRAP hidden from everyone until after it was voted into effect?

HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "President Trump's first cabinet panned as 'bizarre' *  President Trump met with his cabinet on Monday, and media reports are calling the meeting unlike anything they've seen before * Each member took turns praising Trump as he sat & nodded approvingly," wrote a New York Times reporter who was in the room." -- I imagine it was "bizarre" for the mainscream media.. after 8 years of Obama's brown-nosing so mainscream media would focus on his agenda rather than his failures, mainscream media actually saw what goes on when a group of highly qualified people get together and focus on Making America Great Again rather than appease mainscream media.

---
The GA state legislature better get a grip on how to handle Internet sales taxes.. and fast.. major retailers are shutting down their brick & mortar stores at record paces, and GA cities who have become lackadaisically content at suckling the teat of LOST and  SPLOST taxes  are going to find those revenues drying up at a faster pace. Columbus is already experiencing such because of major retailers closing up shops, and it reflects in the figures of Mayor Tom-LYING-son's next budget. And we really have to watch out for the SPLOST projects of the MCSD.. there are 3 more years of taxes to be collected, and there was no wiggle room in the bloated SPLOST budget for a drop in the revenue stream from "the git-go".

---
From the "I kid you not" department - HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Report: Dennis Rodman to visit North Korea * CNN reports Rodman will be touching down in North Korea on Tuesday. * He was seen at the Beijing International Airport but Rodman didn't respond to questions, according to CNN. However, North Korean officials did confirm to the media outlet that Rodman is expected." -- Looks like another "loose cannon" will launch another dud...Now,, how about another Slick Willie one-way trip back there.

---
From the "how does this promote justice" department - Online headline: "FEDERAL COURTS * 9th Circuit rules against Trump travel ban" -- Good grief.. with the previous 9th District Ruling already in the US Supreme Court "docket box", why would the 9th District Court even entertain a new case? Why.. one more attempt to stab Trump in the back.. That "Julius Caesar" play version showing Senators stabbing Trump ala  Brutus & Company was bad enough (praise to Delta and Bank of America for immediately dropping their troupe sponsorships), but the 9th District Court has set up a sequel to that play.. it'll be about liberal District Court judges stabbing the Statue of Liberty in the back.

---
Online headline: "Judicial Watch Releases New Hillary Clinton Email Admitting Blackberry Use ‘Against the Advice of the Security Hawks’" -- The story is too long to reprint here, but it's "worth the read" just to find out how arrogant and pathological this woman has always been. Her responses alone are worth Comey retracting his statement about not finding anything a good prosecutor could use to file charges against her.

http://www.judicialwatch.org/press-room/press-releases/judicial-watch-releases-new-hillary-clinton-email-admitting-blackberry-use-advice-security-hawks/?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=ads&utm_campaign=promoted+content

---
Online story: "As Fried Rogers Goldberg partner Brian "Buck" Rogers rolled with his family toward Jekyll Island for the State Bar of Georgia annual meeting to be sworn in as president, he talked about what worries him most. * "Access to justice is a looming concern," he said. "It has been for years, but with budget cuts I think it's something we're going to have to address." * President Donald Trump's proposed budget for next year has eliminated funding for the national Legal Services Corp., which supports legal aid groups all over the country." -- "access to justice is a looming concern"? You know.. taxpayers have been abused by the courts way too long.. Here in GA, it's all too common for a publicly paid defense be ruled "inadequate" by our Supreme Court and a second trial ordered.. Mind you, there is no consequence levied on the presiding defense lawyer/team that was ruled "inadequate" so the taxpayers are taking it on the chin. Maybe "Buck" Rogers (hmmm.. is he called "Buck" as a play on the comic rocketeer, or because of the "big bucks" he collects as a personal injury lawyer in big truck cases. How about the GA Bar opening up a fund to match taxpayer input to the indigent legal fee fund?

---
L-E headline: "MUSCOGEE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT * Nearly all staff get raise in tentative FY 2018 budget" -- Hmmm.. now, if Lewis could wave a magic wand and get all the students scores a aise as well.. You know, the slip in the economy of Columbus is not all Tom-LYING-son's :fault"... businesses do look at how well the available employable community is educated.

---

Random thought.. Lewis dipping.. no, gouging out nearly one-third of the fund balance demonstrates his lack of financial awareness and the community's future.. The MCSD SPLOST projects revenue stream  going to come under duress in the next three years of its availability.. We already see this in the City budget drawn up by Mayor Tom'LYING-son, and the MCSD may have to increase bond issuance to complete just what's on the table. Lowering the fund balance below 60 days will make it a bigger burden on the taxpayers ANF students.

From the "let's look at this on a Biblical perspective" department - Online headline/story: "Rosie O’Donnell snubs Trump with large donation to accused NSA leaker * Rosie O'Donnell donated $1,000 to the GoFundMe account started for the NSA contractor Reality Winner who is accused of leaking classified documents to the media."  -- Remember the story of the widow's donation in Mark 12, and Luke 21? And how the wealthy scorned her donation..well, like the Biblical wealthy, Rosie gave (and a comparative pittance at that) from her wealth while the Biblical widow gave from her heart.

---
Robin can finally say this, "Holy Bat Corpse".. Adam West ...  1928-2017.

---
You know, when it comes down to whether to believe Comey..or not..I think about him telling us that no District Attorney would think there was anything to prosecute Hellary on.. Comey was... is.. a liar.

---
After learning about Friday's logging truck brake failure that blew through the intersection Mayor Tom-LYING-son has picked for building a round-a-bout on River Road, I'm concluding she is just setting up ambulance-chasing friends of hers to capitalize on future round-about wrecks. There's no way a logging truck with brake failure can handle the effect of centrifugal force of unbanked curves on its top-heavy loads.

---
L-E headline: "‘Innocent people being affected’: CPD deadly police chases raise concerns" -- Good grief.. we all mourn the death of Frank McLemore, but the CPD is not the culprit.. the (_*_) who stole the car and tried escape capture is the killer. What the police did was keep said (_*_) from killing someone else at another place later..Same goes for David Pollard.. we all mourn his death , but the CPD was not the culprit.

---
Mainscream media is celebrating that street shooting deaths in Chicago is down through May of this year compared to 2016.. "ONLY" 260 have been shot and killed compared to 269 last year. You know. 260 people being shot and killed on the streets is nothing to celebrate.

---
The emergence of killer opioid pills should sober up supporters of politicians who believe that personal drug use is a non-violent crime. Unfortunately, it won't...

---
L-E headline/story: "Twitter users, blocked by Trump, cry censorship *  President Donald Trump may be the nation’s tweeter-in-chief, but some Twitter users say he’s violating the First Amendment by blocking people from his feed after they posted scornful comments.  *  “The viewpoint-based blocking of our clients is unconstitutional,” wrote attorneys at the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University in New York." -- Good grief.. you know what comes to my mind.. a scene from Animal House in which the pledges of a fraternity are lined up, bent over in their brief while upperclassmen paddle their behinds, then respond, "Thank you Sir.. May I have another.".. and the "twits" are upset because Trump stands up and gives them the finger when they want to keep "paddling" him.. Talk about a group of bullies being called out!

---
From the "mainscream media really doesn't understand leadership" department - L-E headline/story: "Quitting the Paris climate accord will take years *  President Donald Trump announced that the United States would withdraw from the Paris climate agreement. But it will take more than one speech to pull out: Under the rules of the deal, the earliest any country can leave is Nov. 4, 2020. That means the United States will remain a party to the accord for nearly all of Trump’s current term. * Negotiators for 195 nations will meet in Bonn, Germany, to discuss how to carry out the Paris agreement. Every country has already submitted an initial pledge for curbing greenhouse gas emissions. But officials now have to write rules for monitoring and verifying those pledges. * Technically, the United States is still the co-chair of a key committee on transparency measures. In the past, U.S. officials have taken a keen interest in this topic."  -- :technically, the United States is still co-chair"?  What does mainscream media not understand about leadership? Does mainscream media really "feel" Trump is responsible for Obama's promises? Remember, the Paris Accord is not a treaty, but a pact signed onto by Obama, not the US Senate.

L-E guest commentary that should be required reading in our schools - Headline/URL: "SUNDAY FORUM SPECIAL * Protecting the greatness Americans have inherited * BY CLAY D. LAND * U.S. District Judge *

http://digital.olivesoftware.com/Olive/ODN/LedgerEnquirer/default.aspx?olv-cache-ver=075140

-- Federal District Court Judge Clay Land is right in his assessment of education's failure to present the government of our Founding Fathers in the manner that it should. It's ironic, in a way, that the reason such lack of knowledge exists is because of  rulings by various federal court judges that prevent teaching the Constitution's basic tenets in their proper concept. The primary concern of the Founding Fathers was to assure the rights of the majority, but with respect for the rights of the minority.. yet now courts seem more concerned at pandering to the wants of the minority rather than upholding the views of the majority. We are fortunate, no blessed,  that Judge Clay Land is not one of the judges that wants to legislate from the bench.

---
From the "Once again, I can read the headline of a Leonard Pitts, Jr rant, and know how he's missed the point of his concern" department - L-E commentary headline: "Where did Maher get the idea he could say that? * BY LEONARD PITTS JR. * Miami Herald: -- Good grief.. Is Pitts just ignorant or in a self-induced stupor? Maher got the idea he could say whatever he wants when FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai said Stephen Colbert and CBS would not be fined/penalized for Colbert's comments about the Putin/Trump relationship Colbert tries to portray.

---
From the "and it just doesn't stop" department - Online headline/story: "New York senator drops F-bombs during speech  * New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand dropped several F-bombs Friday during a speech at an event held at New York University." -- What is it with liberals and their lack of civility? The recent splurge of uncivil rhetoric from Colbert, Maher, and now a sitting US Democrat Senator (not to mention in the recent past a sitting Vice President) is a blatant example of the Democrats being unable to express new ideas and resorting to "shock" statements to get attention from other liberals.

---
In a non-binding referendum with extremely light voter turnout (23%), Puerto Rico has asked for US Statehood. Hmm.. what, may I ask, does/can debt-ridden, government dysfunctional Puerto Rico "bring to the plate" to be considered for US statehood?

---
From the "bias.. what bias?" department - HuffPOOPOO headline: "Trump crashes wedding at his golf club in New Jersey" -- Hmmm... and had Obama do so, the headline would have been, "Obama blesses wedding in New Jersey"

---
You know, if mainscream media spent as much time digging up facts on why liberals' programs are failures, our country would be in much better shape physically and fiscally.. In fact, Trump would not have run for president if our country was in better shape.. of course, to be in better shape, mainscream media would have outed the Clintons in 1992, and the Obamas in 2007 and neither would have been involved in destroying America.

---
L-E guest commentary headline: "The media got it wrong: White working-class voters were not the reason Trump won * BY NED BARNETT" --  These guys just have no clue about reality.. Trump won simply because smart people of all races and economic levels realized that the Democrats had no clue of how to "Make America Great Again".

---
L-E Story: "Superintendent David Lewis will recommend an educator from Tampa, Fla. to replace Melvin Blackwell as chief officer for the division of student services in the Muscogee County School District." -- You know, MS Vickers is probably well qualified... but that's not the real issue.. the issue is why no one within the system has been promoted to replace Melvin Blackwell. The real issue is the lack of development of staff to step in.. step up.. when people retire or resign..a sign of real trouble in any organization. The real issue is that the spokespersons for the taxpayers have no real say so in the process... just a "thumbs up/down" for the Superintendents choice.

---
Those incessant "together2017" really bother me.. why are repeating ads promoting the same people something to celebrate? If "Together2017"  wants to run these ads, why not run them about how one of its  projects is doing? Why not ads that say "we are making a difference"?

---
From the "reality has not been accepted by Democrats" department - L-E story: "Columbus Mayor Teresa Tomlinson, pondering a run for the U.S. Senate in 2020 after her term expires, stepped out onto the national stage Sunday. * She has written an analysis piece for The Daily Beast, a popular news and opinion website focused on politics and pop culture. The article is titled: “HOW TO WIN: The Kind of Democrat Who Can Win in the South – or Anywhere.” The subheading is: “It’s how I won in Columbus, Georgia. People want progress. They just want it to be implemented in a pragmatic way." -- ROFLMAO! Tom-LYING-son won because of the very reason the GA Legislature ignores Columbus.. over 60% of voters here voted for Tom-LYING-son, Obama, and Hellary.. despite the direction the rest of supported Trump!..

---

Let's face it.. too much is being made over the confusion some people have over which bathroom facility they can use.. instead of "labeling" doors with words or generic humanoid symbols, just put photos of a Penis or a Vagina on the door.. pictures work for the cash register keys  at McDonalds...

Saturday, June 10, 2017

Online headline: "Trump unequivocally pledges to protect NATO from Russia — but still wants unprecedented backpay" -- "wants unprecedented backpay"? Now, why isn't mainscream media asking Obama why he let most NATO countries renege on paying their "fair".. and AGREED... amount?

---
From the "let's skew the facts with ambiguity" department - HuffPOOPOO "headLIE/story" : "While some defend Trump, many Republicans seem to trust Comey * * Chairman of the Senate Select Intelligence Committee -- GOP Sen. Richard Burr -- made a point of expressing his trust in Comey, saying, "I'm on the record saying I trust James Comey."As the two hour-long hearing progressed on Thursday, Republican committee members Sen. Marco Rubio and Sen. John McCain also notably appeared to take Comey's testimony in earnest." -- "many seem to trust"?  Let's see... the Senate Select Intelligence Committee is composed of 15 members.. 8 of which are of the majority party.. 3 is a stretch under any circumstance, under any definition, to be considered "many", but that doesn't impede the bias of the mainsceam media..

---
The only real matter for discussion and investigation of Comey's testimony is that he freely admitted  that he instigated "a leak" to the mainscream media.

---
If nothing else, Comey confirmed why we have a "swamp" in DC..too many "leaks".. Probably because 93% of DC voters voted Democrat.in November.

---
Here's a question every American should ask themselves.. why is mainscream media, the Democratic Party, and old guard Republican leadership opposed to Making America Great Again?

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "James Comey could snag a $10M deal for a tell-all book" -- Hmmm.. remember Matt Bissonnette, a former member of Navy SEAL Team 6 who wrote an account of the raid that killed Osama bin Laden? He finally agreed to forfeit $6.8 million in book royalties and speaking fees and apologized for failing to clear his disclosures with the Pentagon, according to federal court documents. So.. what's different about Comey writing about what went on in the FBI under his watch?

---
Mainscream media's bias is never so transparent as when you compare Obama and Trump issues side-by-side.. Mainscream media tried it's best to report Obama failures as successes, and now reports Trump successes as failures.

---
Wait a minute.. we read about the Columbus Government Center piping system being corroded.. doesn;t the Columbus Water Works supply the Columbus Government Center with its water? Should we be concerned about what running through the pipes in our homes as well?

---
Online story: "It’s hard to overstate just how massive Democrat Jon Ossoff’s $23 million fundraising haul is in Georgia’s 6th District special election." -- Did I read right.. that the Democratic Party has raised/spent over $23 MILLION dollars in campaigning to get non-resident Ossoff elected in the GA District 6 Special Election..if he can run out of the  district he lives in, why can't I vote against him from out of my district? * We also know that in roughly five months, Ossoff’s campaign committee has raised more than that of Republican presidential candidate John Kasich in the 2016 cycle. Ditto for Republicans Rand Paul and Carly Fiorina and Libertarian Gary Johnson. * Ossoff has raised more than House speakers Paul Ryan and John Boehner did during the last three election cycles. (Boehner had previously held the House record of $21.9 million, set in 2012, according to the money-in-politics site Open Secrets.) * Ossoff’s campaign committee fundraising is approaching that of fellow Democrat Russ Feingold, whose losing campaign for Senate set the 2016 fundraising record of $24.5 million." -- The saddest thing is that only 1-in-$20 dollars (about  $1.1 Million)  has been from GA residents...I still think that some sort of campaign donation parameters needs to be installed to put district residents back in control of its representation.. 3 things can be done that will help insure this: 1 - no candidate can accept funds until January 1st of the year of any General or Special Election; - 2 - Only voters who are eligible to actually vote in an election (and PACs with a majority of members eligible to vote in such elections) can make any kind of political donation to any candidate, and 3 - Any contributions received by a candidate and not spent be turned over to the government after the last voting day for the office run for. This would keep uncontested candidates from building "war chests" of special interest moneys.

---
Has anyone seen a 2016 penny like this one.. it appears to have a "halo" around Lincoln:

---
Here's another confirmed voter fraud incident - Online story: "Twelve employees of an Indiana group tied to former Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid and former President Bill Clinton were charged Friday for allegedly submitting fake or fraudulent voter registration applications before the 2016 presidential election." .. just for the libs who are in denial state that such goes on

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/06/09/canvassers-for-dem-tied-group-charged-in-voter-registration-fraud-scheme.html

---
For all Tom-LYING-son/Pezold supporters and for the "Keep The Freeze" group: Online headline/story: Hall County Commission to hold three public hearings on proposed 26-percent tax hike * Three public hearings have been scheduled to discuss a proposed 26.34-percent increase in Hall County property takes, officials announced Thursday." -- This could easily be our Columbus, GA homes future had Tom-LYING-son and Pezold got their wishes.

---
Yesterday, a Columbus Facebook user posted a picture of a logging truck that had run through the Bradley Part intersection with brakes "afire" before being able to stop south of the intersection.. I have yet been able to find a local media story on this, but the FB poster has said that "Theresa Tomlinson reinstates, that since a Logging truck's brakes caught on fire at the Bradley Park Road and River Road intersection it reinforces the fact that we need A "ROUND-A-BOUT" there immediately!!!!" -- Yeah.. right send a runaway logging truck through an unbanked roundabout where his "load" will undoubtedly shift and topple the truck and logs into the roundabout traffic..does not the Mayor remember the logging truck trying to manipulate a right turn off Veterans onto Double Churches Rd a couple of years ago that was turned over by its load shifting while doing.. at best 2 or 3 MPH? Of course she does.. but it's convenient not to recall it in public.
---
Yesterday, Superintendent Lewis  unveiled his "recommendation" for the Cabinet level position (Chief Student Services Officer --- a $120,000+ gig). You know.. this exemplifies why there are so many problems that afflict our students trying to get a good education.. The previous Chief Student Services Officer left for a private school opportunity.. The fact that Lewis has no back up working that can step up and take her place exposes the huge deficiency in management development.. On the other hand, our School Board constantly going outside Columbus for replacements for departing Superintendents magnifies the problem.
---
L-E headline: "Immigration officials say Shaw High grad eligible for domestic violence visa" -- Well, then "the system" works.. it could have been initiated years ago and this current problem would not exist ...
---
Uber-LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Five people shot to death in Orlando. But it wasn’t terrorism, thank goodness. Just a disgruntled ex-employee exercising his Second Amendment rights. So everything’s fine." -- Hmmm.. and what if the 5 who were shot had been exercising their right to carry guns and defend themselves?
---
L-E headline: "Columbus fire rating could lower county insurance rates" -- "could"? SHOULD is more like it...
---

Once again, I ask, who is paying for those incessant "Together2017" ads being run daily in the Columbus L-E? The one today one in particular should be scrutinized if GA Power is paying for it because it's "an expense" that GA Power will use to ask the PSC to raise the cap on what GA Power can charge us on future bills.
