From the "have you ever noticed" department - Online story: "(Chief U.S. District Judge Orlando Garcia) on Wednesday halted parts of a Texas law intended to aid federal immigration enforcement by punishing so-called "sanctuary cities," in a ruling handed down two days before the measure was to have taken effect. * The court cannot and does not second-guess the legislature, Garcia wrote in a 94-page decision. "However, the state may not exercise its authority in a manner that violates the United States Constitution."" -- Have you ever noticed that when I report an obstacle thrown into the path of law enforcement's ability to "serve and protect" more effectively, the court order is always issued by a Clinton or Obama appointee? It's even sadder in this one, because the judge's citing of "the state may not exercise its authority in a manner that violates the United States Constitution", is procedurally correct, but interpreted incorrectly,  was written for clarity because the law is about enforcing the existing US federal laws that "sanctuary cities" are not upholding. Bottom line, just another example of liberal judicial activism.

From the "don't tell me you cannot see the FLAW in thinking " department - Online story: "Hall County elections officials are closely monitoring the actions of cities in Gwinnett County that are scrambling to comply with providing voting materials in Spanish to the county’s large Hispanic population that comprehends little or no English. *  Gwinnett County and its cities are compelled to provide language assistance to Hispanic residents under Section 203 of the federal Voting Rights Act. The U.S. Census Bureau determined late last year that Gwinnett County must comply based on demographic data showing that more than 5 percent or 10,000 citizens of voting age are members of a single-language minority. * Hall County Board of Elections and Voter Registration voted 2-1 to voluntarily comply with Section 203 of the VRA and not wait to be forced into compliance. The vote was taken along party lines at a time when the board had three members. Two Democrats voted in favor of providing bilingual ballots, and the lone Republican voted against it." -- When "more than 5 percent or 10,000 citizens of voting age are members of a single-language minority"? How can an American CITIZEN reach 18, have graduated from a public or private school. and still be considered non-bilingual? Of course this shouldn't have happened if the Gwinnett Public School system was doing its job..or if 2 of the three Board of Elections official weren't Democrats! The LAW is a FLAWED one to begin with because it covers up a bad education system.

Looks like the L-E not only has blocked comments on the daily 'ego-ads' of the Together 2017 group but have cut off access for ALL advertisers being able to get feedback from readers. The L-E is basically punishing its paying advertisers in order to keep the Together 2017 group from pouting. It's even sadder that the L-E benefits from running the Together 2017 ads as an " in kind" donation as it reduces their corporate income tax responsibility. Oh, and it saved them even more since the L-E doesn't have to pay for news content copied from other news services to fill-up that space.

I tell you what, the Cajun Navy and other small boat owners were just as, if not more, heroic than the British fishing fleets that saved the lives of the trapped British soldiers at Dunkirk.

---
From the "this just ain't right" department - There's a 55 acre piece of property attached to a homestead exempt property in a very exclusive section of town that paid only $525.00 in property tax last year. This property is completely surrounded by other homeowners in a neighborhood setting yet is given a special conservancy status. We're not talking about a potential park or outdoor area the public can share, but private residential property. This is just WRONG no matter who writes or interprets the laws. It's also "funny" that the "conservancy exemption" only affects properties of more than 10 acres, so most homeowners cannot do the same on their larger than 2 acre homestead exemption qualified homes.

Yesterday , I reported shocking news that Pelosi condemned the antifa protesters and that Feinstein acknowledged Trump could be a good president. Now that the shock has worn off, let's press them both about actually voting "yes" on Trump legislation.

The more I think about the FBI posture on not releasing files on Hellary because one person,  the head of the FBI’s Records Management Division, David M. Hardy  feels there's not enough public interest is ludicrous! Anybody who thinks this does not need to be working in a government law enforcement job. Let Hardy know you're interested in seeing Hellary held accountable:

Tucker Carlson was talking with a rep of the National Council on Math..She tried to defend the use of social injustice in math problems. You know she was absolutely wrong in feeling that making white students feel guilty through word problems will make everbody else become more comfortable, more proficient in math. What makes students more proficient, more confident in math is for all of them to be at their grade reading level so they can comprehend the math problems they are expected to master.

HuffPOOPOO headline: "US Immigration and Customs Enforcement warns of imposters looting homes in Houston" -- Good grief.. yesterday I mentioned that looters were shooting at and assaulting brave volunteers using their own boats to move isolated families to safe areas, and now this. There's a special place in HELL for these predators, and the courts should encourage the law enforcement personnel in disaster areas affected "to take no prisoners"..

Online headline/story: "Gunshot victim wasn't a burglar, Corpus Christi police say *  And now police say the initial account -- that the homeowner fired at a would-be burglar -- doesn't appear to be accurate. * Witnesses said the gunshot victim, 33-year-old Gilbert Soto, made several attempts to enter the house in Corpus Christi, near South Staples Street and Lipes Boulevard, the Corpus Christi Caller-Times reported.
* Police responded to a call around 11 p.m. local time Friday, an hour after the storm hit. When they arrived, they discovered Soto, naked, with a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to a hospital. * Soto died from his wound Wednesday, the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office said. * Police have not released where on the property the man was shot but they say the homeowner feared for his and his family’s safety, the Caller-Times reported." -- Good grief.. a naked man tries several times to break into a man's "castle", and the police question the naked man's intent/motives?

Online headline: "Aaron Rodgers says Colin Kaepernick 'should be on a roster right now' and supports players who do not stand during the anthem" -- Aaron Rogers.. you're "dead to me" also.. It's attitudes like yours.. not standing up for what you believe in, that allows players like KaeperPRICK et al to inflict wrongful injuries to the American citizens beliefs.

From the "this is what the American flag is about... not what KaeperPRICK 'feels' " department - Online headline: "J.J. Watt has helped raise over $5 million for Houston in the wake of Hurricane Harvey after initially hoping for $200,000"

In a list of "worst/best states" economically. Georgia ranks 29th... but  while these figures overall are encouraging, they;d be way more impressive if Columbus/Congressional District 2 was not included in them:

29. Georgia
> 2016 GDP: $461.11 billion (9th largest)
> 5 yr. GDP annual growth rate: 2.2% (10th largest growth)
> Unemployment: 4.9% (7th highest)
> 5 yr. annual employment growth: 2.4% (11th fastest growth)

HuffPOOPOO  headline" "Sen. John McCain to return to Senate next week" -- Good grief.. hasn't Hurricane Harvey been enough disaster for Trump to handle , and now "Hurry-Cane John" is bringing his hot-air wind back to Washington? Now add "America" to our "Texas/Louisiana Prayer List"

---
Online headline: "Wasserman Schultz leads efforts to remove Confederate names, statue" -- Good grief.. this coming from a Democrat who would not remove a felonious Pakistani aide's name from access to the Congressional e-mail system.. what needs "removing"  is Debbie Washerwoman Schultz from Congress.. and the streets of America.

---
L-E headLIE: "Trump has leverage over Mexico and Canada on NAFTA" -- WRONG! it should read, "AMERICA has leverage over Mexico and Canada on NAFTA".. and we did when Clinton sold us out in signing it.. Mexico will pay for "the Wall". and use of our highways back and forth between Canada!

---
L-E headline: "SEC enters 50th season since racial integration" -- In the Fall of 1965, I was eating my first meal at the athlete's dining room at SMU in Dallas.. I remember Jerry LeVias, first scholarship black athlete in SMU AND the Southwest Conference history, sitting 15 or so places down the table from me, and one of the other football players sorta "bumped" him into his table and the tray in front of him. LeVias sat there and "took it" .. bravely.. By the time his career at SMU was over he was an All-American. I hope that big jackass finally apologized to LeVias. Since then, Jerry LeVias has been inducted into many "Halls-of Fame. but it was that day in August of 1965 that he went into mine.

From the "good news/bad news" department - L-E headline: "FDA approves first-of-its-kind ‘living drug’ for childhood leukemia * Novartis executives said in a call with reporters that the therapy would cost $475,000 per treatment." -- Yippee ki yay! What a break through! Unfortunately, at 475,000.00 for a procedure, 600 people a year will feel like someone's tied a string to their hopes, and will yank it away when the patients reach out for it.. You know.. I read an earlier version of this, and projected treatment costs were "only" $300K per treatment.. I guess now that the news is out, Novartis is "gouging " more.

---
OK.. access is back, maybe the L-E was just insulating the "TAX THAW" advocate and soon-to-be former District 133 Representative from more embarrassment:
"While many people have said the same thing in slightly different ways,
Ronald Reagan had a way with words....this quote of his works for all aspects of our lives.. whether in sports, public or private sector offices, or in doing God's work: Reagan said, "On my desk in the Oval Office. I have a little sign that says: "There is no limit to what a man can do or where he can go if he doesn't mind who gets the credit." Why does "Together 2017" so insistent that we know who is behind its projects, rather than what benefit the projects have made for the community?

L-E story: "The Mayor’s Commission on New Government and Judicial Building is getting closer to making a recommendation to Columbus Council on what to do with the 46-year-old structure." -- You know, The Commission would do more service to Columbus in recommending how we get rid of a 52 year old obstacle to progress in our city prior to the next election.

---
Stupid ... Very STUPID LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Not by my definition - Joe Arpaio is not a patriot. Pray for Texas AND Louisiana.

---
I read an amazing story about the "Cajun Navy". Got their name for their unselfish volunteerism in New Orelans/ et al during Katrina for bringing their personal boats and saved 1000s of people. Well, they went to Texas.. Houston (and probably others, too) this week..but I'm talking about what happened in Houston.. AS the Cajun Navy roamed the flood waters, looters actually shot at them, and in some cases, lured the boats to them (under pretenses of needing to be saved), and robbed/assaulted the boat owners. Not all people respond the same as most people.. these looters followed the Rahm Emanuel/Democratic Party political playbook,,  -- take advantage of Chaos and try to benefit personally/politically from it --

---
From the "whatever you thought about liberals/Democrats/mainscream media.. well your suspicions are confirmed" department - Online story: "ABC News reporter Tom Llamas is facing backlash for tweeting about “looting” at a Houston supermarket *  tweeted Tuesday, “We’re witnessing looting right now at a large supermarket in the NE part of Houston & police have just discovered a body nearby.” * In a follow-up tweet (since deleted) he wrote, “We informed police of the looting and Coast Guard is flying overhead. Multiple officers now on the scene.” * Many criticized him for not being more empathetic towards those who may be struggling to survive. * “In what conceivable sense is it a journalist’s role to narc to police on people in a disaster taking food? And so gross to call it ‘looting,’” said one commenter. * Another remarked, “Your privilege is showing, sir. Where is your empathy? Did you stop anyone to ask y? It’s one thing if they were taking stuff from Best Buy.” * Someone else suggested, “maybe don’t call it looting when humans help themselves to provisions in an emergency situation. what are they supposed to do??” * Amid the criticism, Llamas attempted to clarify in another tweet, “Let me clear this up–we were w/police who had discovered a dead body & mentioned we saw ppl w/faces covered going into a supermarket nearby.”" -- "don't call it looting"? "your privilege is showing"? There is nothing humane about immoral/amoral people! One mainscream media reporter reported the truth, and was vilified based on his own skin color... and the spineless reporter "apologized" ... basically for being insensitive! The real question is what drives people to loot (steal) rather than seek out places that are set-up to provide the basic emergency needs. It doesn't matter whether someone is stealing from Best Buy or a grocery store.. it's stealing. it's animalism.. I'm taking bets that not one looter left a note for the Grocery store owner listing what he/she has taken, and added his.her name/address with a promise to come back and pay..

After analyzing the Mayor of Houston's actions and tweets, one must assume that Mayor Turner got his political Masters degree from the Ray Nagins "Skool of Mayoring - N'Orleans Campus".

---
Now there's a list out about the "10 Cities in America with the Happiest People" -- To no surprise, Columbus is not listed... but... BUT, wait until 2018 when a New Mayor replaces Tom-LYING-son.

---
Wish someone would step forward and announce he/she is going to run for Columbus' next Mayor in 2018... huh? Gimmee a break,, Beth Harris doesn't count..

---
Online headline/story: "Sarah Palin's lawsuit against The New York Times just got thrown out * ederal judge Jed Rakoff wrote in an opinion dismissing the case, Palin did not have a "plausible factual basis" to claim that the paper had defamed her. * "Responsible journals will promptly correct their errors; others will not," Rakoff wrote. *  He continued: "But if political journalism is to achieve its constitutionally endorsed role of challenging the powerful, legal redress by a public figure must be limited to those cases where the public figure has a plausible factual basis for complaining that the mistake was made maliciously, that is, with knowledge it was false or with reckless disregard of its falsity." * -- Hmm.. two guesses as whether it was Obama or Clinton who appointed Rakoff... it was Clinton.. On the bright side, now the L-E will have to consider "proofing" its favorable stories about the School Superintendent and Mayor for " knowledge it was false or with reckless disregard of its falsity." Making a silk purse out of a sow's ear is just as wrong as reporting stories negatively.

---
From the "Fred Sanford.. it's the BIGGEST one yet, Elizabeth,  I'm coming to see you" department - Online headline/story: "Pelosi condemns Antifa violence in Berkeley after criticism * "Our democracy has no room for inciting violence or endangering the public, no matter the ideology of those who commit such acts," Pelosi said in a statement Tuesday evening. "The violent actions of people calling themselves antifa [sic] in Berkeley this weekend deserve unequivocal condemnation, and the perpetrators should be arrested and prosecuted." -- Good grief.. Pelosi must be concerned about not only her Party leadership role, but at getting re-elected at all! Now, where was she during the 2016 election campaign season when these same Democratic Party supporter paid criminals were attacking Trump rally attendees? Tha, my friends is the real question...

---
From the "pinch me, I must be dreaming" department - Online headline/story: "Feinstein stuns San Francisco crowd: Trump 'can be a good president' * Toward the end of the evening, Feinstein reportedly shocked the crowd when she declined to say that Trump should be impeached and then told the audience that they should be prepared to see Trump complete his four-year term. * “The question is whether he can learn and change. If so, I believe he can be a good president,” she said." -- "(If Trump) can learn and change"?  What I believe is happening is Trump's win has dried up all the Obama-Hellary "Kool Aid" supply in California, and it's Pelosi and Feinstein who are "learning and changing"..but only because they want to get re-elected.

---
From the "3 on a match" department - L-E headline: "Harvey continues torment as Trump sees Texas damage" -- Wow! You know, just a few months ago, this L-E headline would probably have read, "Harvey continues torment as Trump damages Texas"

---
From the "No Way in HELL!" department - Online headline/story: "FBI shuts down request for files on Hillary Clinton by citing lack of public interest * The FBI is declining to turn over files related to its investigation of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s emails by arguing a lack of public interest in the matter. *  Ty Clevenger, an attorney in New York City, filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request in March of 2016 asking for a variety of documents from the FBI and the Justice Department, including correspondence exchanged with Congress about the Clinton email investigation. *  But in a letter sent this week and obtained by Fox News, the head of the FBI’s Records Management Division (David M. Hardy) told Clevenger that the bureau has “determined you have not sufficiently demonstrated that the public’s interest in disclosure outweighs personal privacy interests of the subject.” * "You must show that the public interest sought is a significant one"_ "public interest.... is significant"? You damn right it is! Fire Hardy... TODAY! WEe've been siting back.. maybe too patiently.. for too long to see the Clinton's not be duly processed!

---
You know, wouldn't having the statue of Dr Martin Luther King, Jr standing side-by-side and equal among the Confederate era monuments/statues really be an incredible testament of how history and people have evolved... changed?

---
I'm listening to Fox News and have come to the conclusion that Fox needs to replace most of the Post-Fox & Friends reporters with business degreed reporters. Most have no clue to the damage caused by uncontained government spending.

---
Fox News doesn't get it.. yet . I try to watch it, but as soon as I see Shepard Smith or Juan Williams...CLICK!...a new station.

---
Online headline: "NFL Superstar Unleashes 4 Word Bombshell on Reporter Pushing Him to Protest Anthem" -- Dak Prescott! This is one proud Mississippi State alum.. "Hail STATE!"

---
The new multi-million-dollar Muscogee County GA tax assessment software is a fiasco. Even knowing that the homeowners' "freeze" stays, there's no consideration on the database to record freeze assessment and what current assessment is/would be if not frozen. The Tax Assessors office may as well trade in its computers and replace then with an abacus...

---
L-E headline: "Tax assessors feared for their safety in season of unprecedented appeals" -- Good grief.. next we're gonna hear the Tax Assessors are wanting psychiatric help because they feel "bullied".  Take a stand, Council, dismiss the whole Tax Assessors Board and issue a recall for the 2016 evaluations.. either "take a stand" or "Take a HIKE!"

---
L-E headline: "JIM BLANCHARD LEADERSHIP FORUM * Clark: U.S. not attracting best, brightest teachers * Ron Clark, educator and co-founder of the Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta, speaks Tuesday at the Jim Blanchard Leadership Forum." -- Hmmm.. wanna bet Ron Clark want be getting Christmas cards from the MCSD teachers this (or any future) year? And I'm sure his invitation to the Muscogee County Excellence in Education Awards nigh has been revoked.

---
Stupor-Uber_LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Sheriff Joe copped a plea Please remember that accepting a pardon means you agree that you were guilty of a crime." -- No it doesn't.. in this case, it means the President of the US recognized an injustice by a federal judge to deny Sheriff Arpaio a jury trial.

---

Looks like the "Together 2017" group is tired of my questions about its insistence to run daily ego ads about "who they are" versus letting the public know of good things they do.. The daily ad would not allow comments to be posted on Facebook today.. but "they" know who they are, and my sentiment hasn't changed: "While many people have said the same thing in slightly different ways,
Ronald Reagan had a way with words....this quote of his works for all aspects of our lives.. whether in sports, public or private sector offices, or in doing God's work: Reagan said, "On my desk in the Oval Office. Continue your prayers or Texas.. if your church has a relief fund, add to it , and look for a sister church in an afflicted area to aid.

---
From the "what's wrong with this headline" department - Online headline: "Trump praises storm response as historic disaster unfolds in Houston" -- Hmmm.. as I see it, the headline should read, "Americans. even liberals and mainscream media, praise Trump for leadership in storm response".

---
You know, Democrats are simply anarchists...anti-American...while the rest of the country turns its attention to praying and supporting the people of Texas.. nothing seems to divert the Democrats attention from spreading their hate message.

---
Over the weekend, mainscream media forgot about Russia, forgot about Trump, forgot about General Lee..in fact, mainscream media joined most Americans in concern over the plight of families in Texas..on the other hand, Democrats protested a San Francisco rally that was canceled by the Council. Is there any doubt the DNC cares only for itself? Is there any doubt that the DNC still doesn't know why it lost across the board in 2016.

---
I do not get mainscream media's objection to Trump's pardon of Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio.. Arpaio was denied a jury trial by a judge appointed by Bill Clinton. No jury.. at least not one that wasn't rigged, would have convicted Sheriff Joe for carrying out his sworn duties to uphold state and federal laws.

---
Trump was right to pardon Sheriff Arpaio after a Clinton appointed District Court judge passed judgement herself on the Sheriff, and also denied the Sheriff a jury trial. What Trump should also have done was press for impeachment of that judge

---
From the "what have you done for me lately" department - Online headline/story: "Malia Obama harassed by photo-seeking grandmother at Harvard University * On Saturday, the freshman made headlines after she snapped at a woman who was determined to get a photo of her outside a Harvard Square eatery in Cambridge, Mass. *  the former first daughter was approached by an eager woman asking for a photograph for her granddaughter. After Obama politely declined, the persistent grandmother stood outside the restaurant waiting for the 19-year-old to leave *  she had a few words for the snap-happy woman: "Are you gonna take it in my face like an animal in a cage?"" --  This is Boston, and the woman was a fan... you can bet she is a Democrat, too (no conservative would have made that much effort to get a picture of a Democrat). Guess the rose is off the bloom in Malia's mind..

---
From the "somebody got their wires crossed" department - There are two polls out with Los Angeles topping one and in the Top 10 in the other.. Los Angeles is rated the worst polluted city in America in one, and in the other rated as one of the Top 10 "most livable" cities in the other.. I'm not sure we can find a liberal on MSNBC, CNN, or "The View" that can explain.. justify this.

---
Online story: "For eight years under the Obama administration, the Democrats sat idly by, watching the former president increase this nation’s debt by one trillion dollars every year – a 68 percent increase. * Even worse, Pelosi had the nerve to suggest that “with so much at risk for hard-working families, Republicans need to stop the chaos and sort themselves out in a hurry,” a comment that abdicated any responsibility the Democrats have for dealing with the problem." -- Now this is what honest media should be focusing on....

---
I'm fuming..Spectrum is running ads calling Dish "deceptive" about, basically, "bait and switch" deals.. Spectrum did this to me 2 months after I switched from WOW. I bought a 3 year, no price change "bundle",  but 2 months after, Spectrum dropped the Golf Channel off the package I started with, then said I could add it back for an additional $12.00. I think I was "bait and switched".

Long, but a "must read" - From the "tell of two states" department - Online story: "California and Texas are virtual twins. The two states that are home to one-in-five Americans are similar demographically and endowed with abundant natural resources. They differ most in their public policies. *  California taxes about 42 percent more than does Texas while also having more generous welfare benefits. *  But, according to a new, more comprehensive U.S. Census poverty measure which considers more factors than the old reckoning of poverty, California has proportionately 45 percent more people living in poverty than does Texas. * Last month, the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services released the 2013 caseload data for America’s mainstay federal welfare program, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, or TANF, along with enrollment numbers for separate state welfare programs. TANF’s stated purpose is to “help needy families achieve self-sufficiency” by “Reduc(ing) the dependency of needy parents by promoting job preparation, work and marriage” The U.S. Department of Agriculture also released information on its Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP — formerly known as food stamps — earlier this month. * Considering this updated information along with the strength of job growth presents an interesting picture. * First, to set the economic context, the “Great Recession” started in December 2007 and lasted until June 2009. * From September 2007, the end of the federal fiscal year, to September 2013, America saw a 1 percent decline in nonfarm employment for a net loss of 1.4 million jobs. In the same period, California lost 3 percent of its workforce for a total of 509,000 jobs. But, while the U.S. and California are still in the hole on job growth, Texas experienced a 7 percent increase in its nonfarm employment rolls for a total of 779,000 jobs, more than half the U.S. net jobs gain over six years. * Enrollment in the two the most common welfare programs during this same six year period tell an interesting story too. While the U.S. job base contracted 1 percent, its overall TANF rolls were virtually static, declining by 4,680 people. California and Texas diverged significantly, however, with California’s TANF and state welfare program rolls swelling 18 percent for a total of 203,318 people. Texas’ welfare rolls shrank by 36 percent or 50,996 people during the same period. * More revealing is the fact that, in 2007, before the onset of the recession, California’s 1.2 million recipients of traditional welfare comprised about 28 percent of the nation’s total welfare caseload in a state with 12 percent of the nation’s population. In 2013, California had a full third of America’s welfare cases, 33 percent.
* SNAP use is an entirely different matter. In six years, the number of people in the U.S. enrolled in SNAP skyrocketed 80 percent or 21,167,521 people. By comparison SNAP use in California spiked 103 percent for a total of 2,110,846 people. In Texas, the number of SNAP enrollees was up 67 percent for a total of 1,619,693, considerably below this program’s national rate of increase." -- And you wonder why 4.3 Million more voters in California (alone) preferred Hellary to Trump? Oh, and when libs throw out that Hellary got 2,860,000 more votes overall than Trump.. remind them that taking off California's 4,269,978 anti-Trump votes out, Trump won the majority of the other 49 states' voters by over 1,400,000 more than Hellary.

From the "it must be some sort of Californian version of 'new mat' " department - Online headline story: "5 assaulted at Berkeley protests as black-clad anarchists storm rightwing rally * The group of more than 100 hooded protesters, with shields emblazoned with the words “no hate” and waving a flag identifying themselves as anarchists, busted through police lines, avoiding security checks by officers to take away possible weapons *  Berkeley police chief Andrew Greenwood defended how police handled the protest, saying they made a strategic decision to let the anarchists enter to avoid more violence." -- "Hooded protesters"? The reporter forgot.. MASKED and pepper spray armed.. but the how can the Berkeley Police Chief claim allowing the "anarchists" admittance was to "avoid more violence"? The five rally attendees should not only sue the protesters, but the  Berkeley Chief of Police for "aiding and abetting" a felonious attack!

L-E headline: "Strong leadership needed to face threats, Perdue says: -- Especially after 8 straight years of America floundering like a barge without a rubber under Obama, McConnell, and Pelosi, and McCain. Thank Heaven we now have a proven leader in the Oval Office!

L-E headline: "16 Columbus Consolidated Government employees make over $100,000" -- Hmmm.. and you know.. I'm OK with this.. but I'm not OK with them not appearing to "EARN IT". And I'll tell you what.. Columbus citizens would be better off with a Mayor's salary in excess of $100,000.00, too. See what "only" $82,360.00 gets us... Mayor Tom-LYING-son... and we're already seeing  that the low salary is discouraging good candidates to step forward for 2018.

Stupor-LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Trump’s growing tribalism is dangerous. In order to accommodate him, his supporters may not be noticing that their moral moorings are beginning to erode, and this tends to make good people do bad things" -- "good people do bad things"?  It's the diminished moral composition brought on by Congressional compromises between the Republicans and the Democratic Party that has eroded the forward path of our nation.. government paid abortions, blanket-like entitlement programs, judicial activism, diminished crime sentencing practices, open borders, and sanctuary cities are solely the outcome of liberalistic Democrats being placated by RINO Republicans. Thank goodness the Moral Majority has been awakened!

L-E story: "Indivisible Columbus, GA hosted a rally Monday outside the Jim Blanchard Leadership Forum to call for Georgia’s U.S. Senator David Perdue to hold a town hall meeting to hear their concerns. *  About two dozen people participated in the rally" -- Good grief, less than 25 people show up and the L-E has 3 color photos on the second best page in the newspaper (3A - above the fold). Here's one of them:

From the above story/picture:

I've got to bring full exposure of one of the signs "Why not try to fix the ACA first instead of setting us back to square one?" .. I have two questions myself.. 1 - Why didn't the ALL Democrats and Obama read the ACA FIRST before signing it, and 2 - Why aren't ANY Democrats trying to help fix it now... surely none of them feels the original is working...

---
L-E headline/story: "Statue of Martin Luther King Jr. unveiled in his hometown * The statue paying tribute to King made its public debut Monday on the Georgia Capitol grounds in front of around 800 people including Gov. Nathan Deal" -- Hmm.. what a difference a political party makes.. Republican Governor Deal "unveiled" the statue to the state and world as opposed to Democratic Governor Lester Maddox making unveiled threats to Dr. King back in the 60s.

Can anyone shed light how this ultimately works.. a couple expecting their first child is asked if they want to save the umbilical cord of their soon-to-be-born child.. Fees are discussed (close to $2,000.00 initially and an annual storage fee as well). As this wasn't an option 30/40/50 years ago, it's new to most people, but I have questions.. What will happen to the umbilical cord if the parents reject the offer.. will the hospital dispose of it, or quietly sell it to a third party without the parents bill being reduced.. another question. is if after a few years of storing it in case their infant child needs usage of the stem cells, but the child seems very healthy and probably won't need access, does the storage facility just dispose of it or does it profit by selling the frozen/stored umbilical cord at this time to a third party laboratory?  This procedure is not going away , so let's address it now so all the cards are on the table..

One again, the L-E tries to disguise the growing Foreclose Section by splitting it into two sections.. maybe the L-E and Mayor feel the public cannot add 4 + 5 and get 9 pages of such..

Continue your prayers for Texas.. you know, Texans have one particular thing to be very thankful for .. Trump, not Hellary, is president.. Trump has a track record of getting things done...

---
We pray for the safety of those cursed with the flood waters generated by Hurricane Harvey, but let's not lose the Godsend opportunity presented..This is an excellent opportunity to share our love and compassion with neighbors and strangers alike... this is what it means to be a Christian...we find love in chaos...quite different from the Democrats Rahm Emanuel chaos concept..Emanuel opportunistically sought ways to capitalize politically on the misfortunes of others.

---
Online headline: "Trump was wrong to pardon controversial U.S. sheriff, Ryan says" -- Good grief.. Trump was right on in correcting a miscarriage of justice!  Sheriff Arpaio was DENIED a jury trial, and his guilt was assessed by a single US District Judge, Judge Susan Bolton, who was a Slick Willie appointee.

---
Online story: "Hundreds of counter-protesters gathered near a barricaded San Francisco park Saturday despite the cancellation of a free-speech rally that city leaders feared could draw right-wing extremists." -- Hmmm... just proves they were paid henchmen.. they showed up to be able to draw their paychecks..

Mayweather won.. now 50-0 and retiring.. All's right in the true boxing world..

One thing I got confirmed from another "helicopter parent" of the L-E's "Together 2017" daily ego-ad onslaught, is that all the ads are an "in kind" donation... Basically, the L-E is promoting itself along with others while possibly/probably DEDUCTING the expenses of space and production costs from other income revenue. If the L-E benefits from reduced taxes, then GA and the US government is taking a hit on services it could offer for social services.

From the "please explain this to me" department - Online headline/story: "Florida police fatally shoot woman threatening suicide *  a Sunrise Police SWAT team went to an apartment Friday where an armed woman had barricaded herself inside and was threatening to kill herself. *  the woman stopped communicating with officers, so the SWAT team entered the apartment. She says the officers encountered the woman and shots were fired. She died at the scene. No officers were hurt." -- SMH...

Online headline/story: "American journalist is 'caught in fighting' and killed in South Sudan, reports say * ( Christopher )  Allen, who worked for various news outlets, was killed in heavy fighting in the town of Kaya, Reuters reported. * “We are sad for his family. He came here to tell our story ,” said one rebel who knew Allen, according to Reuters. * The rebel asked not to be named but said Allen had been in the middle of the fighting and wearing a jacket marked PRESS, Reuters reported." -- You know.. if I was a South Sudanese Soldier, and I saw a jacket marked "PRESS"  associating with the rebels who I was fighting with, I do believe "PRESS" would become my main target, as I would think the "PRESS" was there to report the rebel side of the story.. Prayers to/for the Allen family.

Here's another Chester Randolph "mess" to disect.. A Columbus builder built his custom house in 2009..It was assessed at $670,000. In 2015, said builder sold it to a well known retired banker for $725,000.00. A few months later, the 2016 Assessment published it's value at $557,000.00. In 2017, the new asssessment came out at $561,000.00.. Now, does Chester Randolph think this is a fair assessment, and is it considered "an up, or down" assessment?

KaeperPRICK failed! The teams of Greenville, NC and Lufkin TX composed of white, black, and Hispanic 11 and 12 year old boys unanimously stood in respect..and emotional awe as the National Anthem wafted across the field at Williamsport, PA Saturday afternoon as they prepared to do battle to determine the LL National Champions.

In what I considered an upset, Texas came on late to take the US crown from North Carolina. With Hurricane Harvey  on land, I guess Texas needed a bright light shining upon it.

L-E headline: "MUSCOGEE COUNTY * School board rejects recommendation, proposes cutting property millage rate * (Superintendent) Lewis reminded the board, “We are balancing this year’s budget using fund balance. … This is one of those aspects of leadership that sometimes is not pleasant, but if we’re going to be fiscally responsible for our employees and the system going forward, I think it’s imperative to consider those things before making any decision that has long-term consequences." -- It's really disheartening to hear the fund balance is being used to balance the operating budget when the school system admits it piles on new projects for the SPLOSTs to get the maximum dollars in sales tax receipts which go only for buying buildings (many unnecessary*) and buses which add more maintenance costs which cannot be paid for with SPLOST revenues.

* - Last year we had 127 UNUSED classrooms that still required maintenance a nd utilities from the operating budget yet there's a new Fine Arts Academy this year and a new Spencer High under construction)

Does anyone know how fast the MCSD gets its share of the property taxes the City collects.. is it days. weeks, or months? Does anyone know if we can send our property tax for the school district directlt to the MCSD or MUST it go through the City collecting department?

L-E story: "Tomlinson said recent homicides are similar in that:
• The suspect and the victim are known to one another.
• They involve gun violence, which results in simple disputes, perceived slights or jealousies, becoming deadly.
•They typically involve people engaged in risk-based lives or hanging out with those that do, including drugs, house parties and being involved in crime.
• They happen in clusters related to retaliation or other factors that could be curbed by witnesses working with law enforcement — fighting the anti-snitch culture."

Hmmm... which "Mayor" do we believe.. the one that says Columbus has "no gang or crime problems" or the one saying we have an out-of-control "gang and crime problem"?

L-E Commentary headline/comment: "SUNDAY FORUM SPECIAL * The American republic was designed for evolution * AS I SURVEY THESE SNAPSHOTS OF SIGNIFICANT HISTORICAL EVENTS AND PERSONALLY MEANINGFUL OCCASIONS IN MY OWN LIFE, I DO NOT SEE THEM IN ISOLATION * BY CLAY D. LAND * In light of recent protests that seek to remove from public display those parts of our history that were not racially inclusive, I have contemplated whether some may find these historic prints inappropriate for a federal judge’s chambers. * But as I broaden my focus beyond these paintings consisting entirely of white men, I notice three other items hanging from my chamber walls — a photograph of Abraham Lincoln superimposed upon his Gettysburg Address, a framed photograph of myself with my then state Senate colleague Ed Harbison from a 1996 article appearing in the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer captioned “Promises of the New South have come true,” and a photograph of the six judges who currently sit on my court, including a black male and black female." -- Great perspective!... even better when you consider the evolvement of the Constitution is always led by the majority of people of America. The American people ourselves are responsible for the changes in views, temperaments, and made corrections of what was written by our forefathers. That's what has  Made America Great!  Too bad too many people cannot see the future because they only look backwards.

---
Anti-Christians....mainscream media.. atheists.. leftist.. unbelievers in general, just have no clue to what being a Christian is about.. Christians aren't perfect but are making an effort to follow Christ..in other words, if you're not trying to be a follower of Christ, you're just not trying to be like Christ.

Online headline: "Trump admin brings back prayers in the White House" --  Well, between the Executive and Legislative Branches, this puts the Judicial Branch in the minority..

---
Online story: "Rumors have started circling from political associates of Al Franken, hinting at a possible run by the Minnesota senator for the White House in the following elections that will take place in year 2020." -- Heh heh heh... Good grief, even the scriptwriters at Saturday Night Live could not come up with a skit showing FRanken beating Alec Baldwin Trump. much less "the Donald"...

---
From the "total acceptance has a limit" department -  Online headline: " CAITLYN JENNER CHEWED OUT BY TRANS WOMAN Over Trump Support" -- Heh heh heh.. so.. being accepted for who... or what... you are doesn't apply if you are conservative or a Trump supporter...

From the "sometimes absurdity is the equalizer" department - Online headline: "Scott Baio: Should We Tear Down Clinton Presidential Library Because Hillary Praised Former KKK Member?" --   "because Hellary praised  member former KKK member"? IMO.. no.. we should tear it down because of his misogynist actions ... then BURN it for Hellary's praise of  Senator Byrd..

---
You know, mainscream media and leftist hate Sheriffs Joe Arpaio and David Clarke... for the same reason... they upheld the laws and Constitution because it was their sworn duty. I love 'em for the same reason.-

Online headline/story: "Hitler image, Trump mask used by property manager to terrorize building, residents say * Residents of a New York City building are being terrorized by a property manager who wears a Trump mask and plastered the lobby walls with pictures of swastikas, Confederate generals and Hitler, according to reports." -- You know.. it's not the mask of Trump.. nor the images of Hitler, Confederate Generals or Swastikas that scares the residents.. it's know the leftist property manager doing this has key-access to their apartments!

---
L-E headline: "Some residents claim litter-bugs are trashing Columbus streets" -- "litter-bugs"? How about  LITTER-THUGS!

---
Uber-LIV's L-E "soundoff": "I wonder if David Duke or any of his followers serve on the boards of America’s great capitalist companies." -- Probably not, but it's a good question to ask of late Senator Robert Byrd, or Lester Maddox, or George Soros.

---
Stupor-LIV's L-E "soundoff": "If you didn’t appreciate Leonard Pitts’ column on Sunday, perhaps it was beyond your level of intelligence." -- Shouldn't the insinuation be that if you're getting your intelligence from Leonard "the" Pitts, you are below acceptable standards of self-sufficiency... in other words. a Democratic Party dupe?

---

L-E story: "The federal government is struggling to conduct background checks on people seeking security clearances, creating a backlog that one industry group says encompasses more than 700,000 applicants." -- Good grief.. after Obama's 8 years, all federal government employees brought in during his terms have to be re-vetted first before anything else!

Pray for Texas..

---
Trump is on top of the hurricane in Texas..Of course, the Texas governor was smart enough to ask ahead for Trump to use the full force of America's resources to help. Compare that to 2005 when the Governor of Louisiana failed to ask Bush43 in advance. It's against the Constitution for the President to "but in" on such issues until a state's Governor requests federal help.

---
From the "doing the right thing.. because it was the right thing to do" department - Online story: "U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday granted a pardon to former Arizona lawman and political ally Joe Arpaio, the self-proclaimed "toughest sheriff in America," less than a month after he was convicted of criminal contempt in a case involving his department's racial profiling policy." -- Good grief.. Sheriff Arpaio was set up by Obama policies that cut-off the hands of enforcing our existing immigration laws, and Sheriff Arpaio was doing the job he was sworn to do.. protect the citizens of Maricopa County , Arizona.. and America as a whole. Trump.. who this country NEEDED 25 years ago as well!

Maybe Democrats should look at "Climate Change" a little closer.. if it's happening, it's probably God telling Democrats they need to develop their moral backbones.

Online story: "Atlanta City Councilman Andre Dickens wants to force multifamily developers throughout the
Dickens is working on a plan to revise zoning ordinances that would cover the 22-mile path of the Atlanta BeltLine and require developers to set aside portions of multifamily projects as affordable units. While short on specifics, the ordinance would require any project of more than 10 units to set aside a percentage of its units as affordable. The ordinances would restrict the deeds on those developments to hold those affordable units for 20 years, he said. In exchange, developers would have access to incentives that would reduce property taxes, reduce parking requirements and allow for more density,"  --  "Councilman..Dickens want to force"? "Ordinances would restrict the deeds... to hold those affordable units for 20 years"? "developers would have access to incentives that would reduce property taxes, reduce parking requirements and allow for more density"? Good grief.. a planned community of FUTURE SLUMS! There would be no incentive for developers to maintain their properties; no incentive to tie up their money for 20 years; and "reduced parking requirements" would cut the desirability for non-supplemented renters to consider living there. Councilman Dickens need to go to real estate school and take a basic Economics class.

Looking forward to working with the Citizens 2015 SPLOST Committee...Like I said earlier, I am against SPLOSTs because I don't think we should ask our Valley friends to pay for our school wants..their counties and towns should get their tax dollars., but..it is an existing tool, so we just need to apply it wisely. One thing I learned was that more projects than can possibly be completed are put into the referendum requests intentionally. Doing so create projects that may sway personal votes, but the primary reasons is to make sure the MCSD can max out as many dollars as possible for the 60 month time frame. There appears there is a "Priority List" about when and what projects start, but it concerns me that when there is a known SPLOST revenue shortgage (and there is, currently) too many projects can be underfunded anticipating voters will vote for a new SPLOST to finish them...but if voters revolt, we could end up with too many projects started yet there won't be enough to finish them. . And if the voters decide not to pass a new SPLOST following the present one , the MCSD could end up with a lot of unfinished buildings tying up tons if money.

From the "..maybe 'the WALL' should be on our Southern border with Mexico.. AND the eastern borders of California and Oregon" department --Online story: "In a disturbing move that reeks of tyranny, Oregon Governor Kate Brown signed a Democrat bill into law that permits the Oregon government to steal guns without notice. * The law, based off of Oregon Senate Bill 719, has faced massive resistance from Republicans and Oregon citizens alike. Despite this, the local governments managed to sign it into law—Oregon is no longer a free state. * This new anti-second amendment law allows all officials in the state of Oregon to order the removal of guns from the possession of free individuals. There is no evidence that is needed to perform the confiscation. The gun owner isn’t given a hearing until after." -- This is  not America.. and since it's a word liberals throw out a lot, what the Oregon laws does is align Oregon with Hitler's NAZI Germany.

From the "beyond absolution" department - Online story: " A California Catholic school is facing a backlash from parents after officials took down some religious statues -- including one of Mary and baby Jesus -- over concerns that they were “alienating” prospective students. * The head of the San Domenico School in San Anselmo said parents of some prospective students who visited the campus – which was founded in 1850 and serves 671 students grades K-12 -- expressed concern about the religious figures"  * “If you walk on the campus and the first thing you confront is three or four statues of St. Dominic or St. Francis, it could be alienating for that other religion, and we didn’t want to further that feeling,” Amy Skewes-Cox, who chairs the school's board of trustees. * Cecily Stock, who is head of the school, said most students are not Catholic.-- "most students are not Catholic"? "it could be alienating for that other religion"? Good grief.. it appears the trustees of the San Domenico School  have sold their moral compass for "30 coins of silver".. and from what I read about him, Poop Francis probably agrees with the decision..Oh, in typical mainscream media reporting style, no one asked what "the other religion" is she was talking about.

Back to the mess the Board of Tax Assessors is making.. Chester Randolph points out that such&such percent of properties went down.. Now, since the Tax Freeze was overwhelmingly upheld, none of the Homestead Exempt properties that went down should be counted in Randolph's figures.. but let me show a few examples of what Randolph was referring to:

Representative Pezold, a "THAW" champion (who lost),  has two houses in exclusive neighborhoods.. his exempt home dropped from $561,000 assessment value in 2016 to $417,000 in the 2017 re-assessment.. except for the "Freeze" being upheld, his taxes could have dropped by a whopping 25%.. his non-exemption house  in another exclusive neighbor hood was assessed at $295.000 in 2016, and this year is assessed at $280,000.. and if the 2017 assessments AREN'T rolled back, Pezold WILL benefit from a lower tax bill.

That brings us to another "well-known local lawyer" (and  "THAW" advocate) home in the same exclusive neighborhood as Pezold "unfrozen" property, This lawyer's home was assessed in 2016 at $1,108,000.. the "new" assessment  values it at $903,000.. down $205,000.00!.. It's "frozen" so his taxes will stay the same, but if the "Freeze" had been thawed, his taxes would have been sliced by nearly 19%.

A third "THAW" advocates home is also worthy of mention.. a local doctor's home in Maplewood was valued at $512,000 in 2016, but reassessed in 2017 at $393,000.. Her tax saving would have been nearly 24%.. but.. the FREEZE was upheld so se will not see such.

Now, Chester Randolph.. which category do these homes go in.. the "up" or "down" assessments?

Online headline/story: "First grader sent to office for 'misgendering' fellow student *  A first grader at a California charter school was sent to the principal’s office this week after she accidentally “misgendered” a classmate in what’s being called a “pronoun mishap.” -- Good grief..  A quest for all of you who have children or grandchildren of 1st grade status:  Ask your 1st Grader if he/she actually knows what a pronoun actually is.. then ask them if they actually know what "gender" is, and thirdly, ask them how they know whether their classmates are "boys or girls".. It's time to squash the liberal movement to confuse our next generation of leaders!

---
Online headline: "Time for Trump to keep his promises: DACA is unconstitutional and bad for American workers" -- Well, he's been trying to get "the Wall" up, but he made a real step towards keeping his promise by pardoning Sheriff Joe Arpaio who was convicted of doing the job he was elected..and sworn.. to do.

---
Online headline/story: "White House imposes fresh sanctions on Venezuela 'dictatorship' * The new sanctions prohibit financial institutions from providing new money to the Caracas government or state oil company PDVSA. It would also restrict PDVSA's U.S. subsidiary, Citgo, from sending dividends back to Venezuela as well as ban trading in two bonds the government recently issued to circumvent its increasing isolation from western financial markets." -- Remember when I mentioned some Venezuelan patriots brought gifts to Trump and Pence to get their support.. you know..hats that read, "Make Venezuela Great Again".. well looks like "hats" are magic in Foreign {Policy as well as in presidential politics!

---
From the "PETA, where are you when you're actually needed?" department: "Online headline: "Student Group Says USC's White Horse Mascot Is a Racist Symbol" -- Good grief.. hey, PETA, would you explain to these idiots that horses have no racial issues, and the horses parents could be "mixed" and still produce a white foal..

From the "wrong question" department - Uber-LIV's L-E "soundoff": "What is it about Trump that makes hate groups believe they have now been empowered? -- The right question is , "What is it about leftist hate groups makes them feel empowered to break the laws and Constitutional Amendment protections of all citizens?"

From the "the blind pig sometimes finds an acorn" department - L-E commentary headline: "Kaepernick’s not being discriminated against * BY JOHN A. TURES 8 LaGrange College" -- DOH! If Bart Starr, or Peyton Manning had disrespected the USA's Flag/National Anthem, like KaeperPrick, American sports g=fans would have been up in arms, too. Let's pray associate professor  Tues "fattens himself up" finding more acorns..

While I follow neither boxing nor MMA, I hope Mayweather wins tonight.. I'd hate to see boxing lose it's pure form.

From the "what does it really matter " department - Online headline/story: "Florida executes man with drug not previously used in lethal injections * a 53-year-old man convicted of two 1987 murders, administering a lethal injection that included a drug never before used in a U.S. execution" -- "not previously used"? Good grief.. it worked didn't it! And now, :they" won't be able to say that again...

---
Instant repeat: From the "what does it really matter " department - Online story from above headline: "(Mark James" Asay was sentenced to death in 1988 for the killing of two men in separate incidents on the same day a year earlier. After using a racial slur during an argument, Asay shot Robert Lee Booker in the belly. He killed Robert McDowell by shooting him multiple times in the chest. Asay said later he believed McDowell had cheated him out of $10. * Asay was the first white man to be put to death in Florida for killing a black man since the state reinstated the death penalty in 1979." -- "first white man to be put to death.... for killing  a black man ... since 1979"?  Good grief...why does color matter so much to mainscream media.. besides, the real story is an (_*_) was executed for a heinous crime..The real question is why our Justice system took 30 years to disburse justice!

Carlton Gary.. YOU'RE NEXT!  31 years late, but better late than never..at this time..

From the "please get out of town by high noon" department - Online story: "Hurricane Harvey intensified to Category 2 by early Friday as it moved toward Texas, with meteorologists forecasting the storm could become a "major hurricane" when it makes landfall later in the day or Saturday. * Corpus Christi Mayor Joe McComb said no mandatory evacuations were in effect, but he urged residents in low-lying parts of the coastal city to leave. * "We are going to in the strongest possible terms encourage the residents in the low-lying areas, as they say, to get out of Dodge," McComb said at a news conference." --"get out of Dodge"?  Hmmm.. sounds like the Corpus Christi mayor was an "oater fan".  Mayor McComb adopted his best "Fred Graham as Duke Lee impersonation", and told Corpus Christ that "the town ain't big enough for the 326,000 of us".

---
Yesterday was the organizing meeting of the recently commissioned "Citizens MCSD SPLOST Committee"..  A lot of good MCSD executive staff was present as well to introduce themselves, and enlighten the "Committee"  as to procedures they use in decision making and when/where we can access information. All-in-all, the meeting was excellent.. well, maybe with one exception.. hopefully it will be limited to this meeting, but since when does a L-E reporter come to a meeting that is called to discuss/evaluate current statuses of school projects?

From the "please ignore what I do and concentrate on what I said" department - Online headline/story: "Canada ramps up deportations amid growing migrant influx *  As an influx of asylum seekers crossing from the United States strains Canada's immigration system, the country is ramping up its deportation of migrants, government data shows. * Deportations of Mexicans, who have flocked to Canada in growing numbers after a visa requirement was lifted in December, was already 66 percent higher in the first eight months of 2017 than the total from the previous year. * Deportations of Haitians, thousands of whom have crossed into Canada illegally in the hopes of avoiding deportation from the United States, have also soared. Canada has deported 474 so far this year, compared to 100 for all of 2016 when the government lifted its own ban on deportations to Haiti, in place since a devastating 2010 earthquake." -- Now we know why all the Hollywood grandstanders didn't keep their promises to leave America and move to Canada... Canada doesn't want them either.

---
From the "hitting the nail on the head" department - HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Kellyanne Conway says Democrats want Hillary Clinton to 'make herself useful or fade out' * Conway went on to accuse Clinton of her lack of “bipartisan efforts” on issues like infrastructure and tax reform, before saying, “she failed to make history and she succeeds at making excuses.” -- "she failed to make history and she succeeds at making excuses."? Talk about summing up a person in 11 words or less! Or in the time worn vernacular, Hellary was been weighed and measured and found wanting"

---
From the "yeah,, they really care about clean air" department - Online headline: "11 of the Worst 25 Polluted Cities are located in one state"  -- Hmmm.. One guess.. .. you're right.. not the coal producing states, not the oil fracking states.. but California.. guess we should have expected it because of the piousness of Democrats,... they produce humongous amounts of methane gas every time they make a political promise.

---
From the "I don't know who was stupider" department - Online headline: "Miguel Cabrera threw haymakers and started an ugly, benches-clearing brawl with the Yankees" -- Hmmm.. A batter squared off with a catcher.. Now.. who was stupider, the batter, who threw his bat down and swung at the catcher who was wearing protective gear, or the catcher who took off his helmet to engage in a fight with a man who held a bat a few moments before?

---
From the "oooops, how'd this can of worms get opened" department - Online headline/story: "REPORT: Nancy Pelosi’s father dedicated Baltimore Confederate monuments * House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi wants House Speaker Paul Ryan to dismantle Confederate monuments at the Capitol, despite her own family’s involvement in dedicating similar statues. * “The Confederate statues in the halls of Congress has always been reprehensible,” Pelosi said in a prepared statement following the violence that erupted in Charlottesville earlier this month" -- Of course, Of course, Pelosi had the power to do exactly that during her term as Speaker of the House just a few short years ago and failed to take action.. Even more "funny" is that her father was a 5 term US Congressman from Maryland before he was the Mayor of Baltimore during the tumultuous 1950s, and her brother was the Mayor of Baltimore from 1967-1971 during the riot years...hmmm seems the D'Alesandro-Pelosi has always been hypocritical (at a minimum) and opportunistic whenever they got a chance...

---
From the "Fred Sanford, 'it's the BIG one, Elizabeth.. I'm coming to see you" department - Online story: "California’s state Supreme Court on Thursday upheld Proposition 66. The voter initiative is intended to speed up the state’s death penalty cases, which sometimes take more than 20 years to be resolved. * The plan called for death penalty cases to be completed within five years, but the five justices who formed the majority opinion said such a time schedule could not be guaranteed." -- Don't get TOO excited.. the US District 9 Court of Appeals hasn't spoken yet... but at least it's a start ...

Repeating myself: You know.. liberals celebrate sculptures that denigrate Christ drenched in excrement and urine by calling it freedom of artistic expression.. hmmm is there any difference in memorial sculptures?

Do you think that both KY Senators, McConnell and Rand Paul got less voter support in their last re-elections than Trump got in KY for President?

What good news! Charmaine Crabb, co-chair of the most successful "Keep the Freeze" campaign, is running for the Council Post 5 seat. Cannot vote for her but would if I could..You can bet I will support her campaign..we need Councilors who are active in our community in order to get positive changes.

You know, in 1990, the GA DOT wanted to put a massive, straight line thoroughfare from Macon Road to the proposed 13th St Bridge..Council rejected it because it would basically "rape" the Lakebottom area. Now the GA DOT feels 13th Ave should be narrowed for car/truck traffic. I guess the GA DOT figures people in Columbus and Phenix City, AL aren't buying as many cars.

From the "two-sided aspect not mentioned" department - L-E headline/story: "COLUMBUS STATE UNIVERSITY * CSU’s economic impact on local area more than doubles in past 15 years _The study reported CSU spent approximately $112 million in FY2016 on personnel and operations, and CSU students spent a total of almost $113 million." -- First, when CSU celebrated it's 50th year here in Columbus, it marked the 60th year of our family's donation to Columbus College/CSU.. Secondly.. no mention is made of the loss of property taxes for Columbus services is made as CSU buys up existing buildings/properties for school use, and thirdly, while $113,000,000.00 is a nice "sum", it only breaks down to a little over $1,600.00 per 8,000 students.. The bulk of student "contributions to the local area" go to CSU via tuition, books, food plans, and mandatory "FEES" . Yes we are proud of , and to have CSU here, but without Columbus, CSU would not exist here.

---
From the "how'd this happen... inquiring minds want to know" department - L-E headline: "PUBLIC SAFETY *Columbus Crime Stoppers regrouping after 2-year hiatus" -- You know, it's almost criminal in itself that this program disappeared... hopefully its revival will aid immensely in stopping crimes from going unsolved for so long.

---

L-E headline/story: "Columbus jobless rate stays at 6 percent; 600 jobs lost * “Due to the fact that a lot of summer jobs are held by students, it’s not surprising to see the July decline in jobs, especially with the earlier school start dates this year,” (Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark) Butler said." -- Hmmm... you know.. it's also just as true that there are more jobs created in Nov/December for the post-Thanksgiving and Christmas Season sales boost.. but that's never equated with the boost in seasonal job numbers that dissipate as soon as January appears.  The only real deduction that can be made here is that 3 of the GA cities (Columbus, Macon, and Albany are all represented by Sanford Bishop who gets but 1% of his re-election donations from under $200.00 donors.

From the "shhhh.. please don't tell Democrats" department - Online story: "The U.S. State Department has expanded its travel advisories, warning of dangers in parts of Mexico that hadn’t previously been addressed * The advisory stated that turf battles between criminal groups had resulted in crimes and killings in areas frequented by U.S. citizens. *  Chiapas was one of the states newly included in this advisory * “U.S. government personnel must remain in tourist areas and are not allowed to use public transportation.” *  The warning also included states covering popular tourist destinations such as Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and Cozumel. " -- Build that Wall!

---
Online story: "Former FBI Director James Comey is set to head a lecture series at Howard University this coming fall semester. *  The historically black university released a statement on Wednesday, announcing that Comey would be taking on a one-year role at the school. Comey is slated to deliver five lectures on public policy. " -- Good grief.. why would an institution of HIGHER LEARNING  hire a lecturer to give insight on "public policy" when he violated... INTENTIALLY violated... "public policy" by passing "non-public info" to an outside person to "leak" to the mainscream media? Howard students and alumni should be irate!

---
From the "Remember Joe Arpaio" depatment - Online story: "In 2013, a judge found Arpaio and his department had engaged in racial profiling against Latinos. Arpaio was later charged with contempt and convicted for intentionally ignoring the judge's order to desist. * the former Maricopa, Arizona sheriff who faces up to six months in jail for ignoring a court order to stop detaining suspected undocumented immigrants. * Arpaio's sentencing is slated for Oct. 5, but he plans to appeal his conviction. * “I enforced the law. Let’s leave it at that. The legal part of that will come out soon. I have good attorneys, and I am very confident the true story will come out,” he previously told NBC News." -- You know.. every sheriff in the country should be aligned with Joe Arpaio.. their ability to do their jobs correctly has been impaired by an activist judge!

---
There's another of those mainscream media polls out that claims Mark Cuban leads Trump by a 42-38 lead. The fact that a mainscream media pollster had 38% of its respondents supporting Trump had to be a big  surprise, but not being able to get but 42% for "the anti-Trump" should be very disheartening to the Democrats going into 2018.

---
Online headline: "Hillary STILL Talking About 2016 Election in New Book, Calls Trump “Creep” -- Well.. if anyone has a wide definition of the word "Creep", it would be Hellary..she's seen every aspect of a "creep" being married to Bill.

---
Online headline: "Hillary Compares Debating Trump to Sexual Assault" - You know.. there's a lot of truth in what Hellary says.. we know of many... but probably not all... of the "sexual assaults" Bill was involved with.. and they were probably inspired.. spurred on... by Hellary's "debates" with him...

---
Back tracking a bit..my bad yesterday..the US ship, the John S McCain was named for an admiral..2 in fact, Admirals John S.McCain, Sr & Jr..

---
From the "libs caught discriminating" department - Online story: "A mother is upset after her son was sent home from the first day of school for having hair that was “too long.” * Jessica Oates sent her 4-year-old son off for his first day of school Aug. 21, only to have him sent home after his hair was deemed too long to fit within the parameters of the dress code, according to WPVI. * “He’s never had a haircut. It’s just kind of a part of his identity,” Oates told KTRK. She mentioned that she was notified of the school’s policy about long hair prior to registration, requiring a religious or cultural exemption to allow it. * But before she could write one, Oates said, she received a note from school officials telling her not to send her son back until they had cut his hair. She said she tried putting her son’s hair in a bun but that also infringed upon the requirements, which state that a boy’s hair must be above his eyes, ears, and neck." -- Hmmm... typical liberal BS in our education system.. First.. has any GIRL ever been sent home for hair :too long".. this makes a case for "gender profiling" and "sexual discrimination"... Hope Mom sues! Oh.. and it that fails, she can declare him transgender and get royal treatment...

---
Larry Elder.. a black conservative talk show host has put out THE  "tweet", of the post-Obama years": "Shouldn't Obama, who descends from slave owners on mom's side and slave sellers on dad's, give blacks his book royalties as reparations?" -- No argument here...

---
From the "this about says it all" department...Venezuelan patriots have brought Trump and Pence a gift...in hope they can get the Dynamic Duo to install sanctions against importing Venezuelan oil (you can start by boycotting "Citgo" ). The gifts are hats, and they  "read", " Make Venezuela Great Again"... I have a feeling Sean Penn doesn't have one of these either.

---
Mayor Tom-LYING-son says our crime problem is all due to guns. Hmmm.. guess she's happy with countries like Venezuela and Brazil which don't allow citizens to own guns. I guess she'd be happy if we were still a colony of England because without guns, our forefathers would not have been able to fight for the freedoms we have today.. I tell you what, if it comes down to choices, I'll keep my guns and give up lawyers and politicians.

---
We got our garbage pick-up at 9:34 AM Wednesday.. now, why didn't we get it picked up on Monday since this is the usual time frame we get and the garbage trucks were supposed to work until noon? You know.. Tom-LYING-son took away our "twice-a-week" pick-ups, but this week I had to put out the trash TWICE and got only ONE pick-up.

---
Whether she "knows" it or not, Mayor Tom-LYING-son cannot stand tall in defense of local monuments.. Check out Sesquicentennial Park...Once it flew all the flags that have flown over our area, but now the flag pole assigned the Confederate Flag has been desecrated and the flag replaced...Oh, it's right next to the CSU Space Center on Front Ave.

---
L-E story: "After avoiding an appearance at an Aug. 8 Columbus Council meeting, two members of the Muscogee County Board of Tax Assessors showed up Tuesday at the request of frustrated council members. * Chester Randolph, chair of the tax assessors board, and Matthew Moorefield, the youngest and newest member, spoke only after councilors insisted that they do so. * Randolph said other tax assessors didn’t show up because of strong comments made by some city councilors regarding unprecedented tax assessment increases throughout the county. Those absent were Lawton Grantham Jr., Daniel Hill and Pat Bettis Hunter" -- You know, if any other City Department made decisions that had a 55% adjustment rate made, the Mayor and Council would be looking for a new Department Head.  The Taz Assessments were literally "dropped like bombshells: in June and property owners were give only to mid-August to research and file an appeal.. It make so much more sense.. and much fairer, for the Board of Tax Assessors to rescind such until January of 2018 so proper responses can be filed and appealed in the following Fiscal Year. Let's face it, Mayor Tom-LYING-son's budget did not include increased property tax revenues, so the budget will not be hurt using the previous assessments, but I do wonder since Tom-LYING-son has been hands-on with the new tax assessment software implementation as to whether she knew what was coming and purposefully decided to use the old figures in her budget to cover up her knowledge.

---
Let's talk "assessment equality".. actually.. the LACK of such in the old AND new assessments:
One property owner on Smith Road with about 8.5 acres of undeveloped acres .. in last year's assessment, the land was valued at $10,000.00 per acre.. while a contiguous property belonging to a well-know local lawyer (not Tom-LYING-son) has 142 acres but were only assessed at $1,500.00 per acre. This year, the 8.5 acre owners' property has been assessed at nearly $28,000.00 per acre, while the property of the well-know local lawyer (not Tom-LYING-son) acreage has been assessed at $1,578.00 per acre..... and Chester Randolph "feels" he's done a great job..

---
Let's get Chester Randolph's opinion on this for an example of a decreased property value assessment:

Shogun North at 5520 Whittlesey BLVD.. you know, Chick-fil-A just bought that for $4.3 Million.. Last year Chester's group was happy with it being appraise at $1,239,000... and his group proudly assessed it this year at $1,164 Million.. .. meanwhile it was SOLD at $4.3 MILLION.. which, as I understand it, is the best way to determine FMV...a willing buyer/seller agreement,

The Board of Assessors should be immediately dismissed and Council issue a revocation of the new assessments Randolph is so proud of!

---
You know.. liberals/mainscream media celebrate sculptures that denigrate Christ by calling it freedom of artistic expression.. hmmm is there any difference in memorial sculptures?

---
In a follow up to yesterday's item about Kennedy heirs being arrested.. more specifics were released - Online story: "The son and granddaughter of Robert Kennedy, who were arrested after a rowdy party Sunday night at the illustrious family's Cape Cod home, were belligerent when confronted by police officers, breaking household items, sticking a tongue out at cops and inciting a mob that screamed, "You don't know who you're messing with," a police report revealed on Wednesday." -- "you don't know who you're messing with"? I think the police knew very well who they were "messing with:.. unfortunately, the :being messed with" people don't realize Uncle Ted isn't around to buy off the police and politicians anymore.

---
Online story: "A Washington state high school football coach who was punished for taking a knee at the 50-yard line for a post-game prayer violated the U.S. Constitution, according to the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals." -- Good grief.. maybe we can get Trump to issue an Executive Order to add about 20 more conservative judges to the District 9 Court of Appeals "inventory" When I think about the worst Court of Appeals decisions made this Century, ALL of them came out of the 9th District... naturally, it's the West Coast and a couple of other states...maybe the US Supreme Court should make District Court "shopping" by lawyers a crime in itself.

---

Even SNOPES.. won't conform this, but our unbiased L-E ran with it: Uber-LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Checking birth certificates, as Donald did to Obama, we find that Donald is the son of Fred Trump, wealthy slumlord arrested at a KKK rally in 1927. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree." -- From the Snopes.com website: "According to a New York Times article published in June 1927, a man with the name and address of Donald Trump’s father was arraigned after Klan members attacked cops in Queens, N.Y. * In 1927, Donald Trump’s father would have been 21 years old, and not yet a well-known figure. Multiple sources report his residence at the time — and throughout his life — at the same address. * To be clear, this is not proof that Trump senior — who would later go on to become a millionaire real estate developer — was a member of the Ku Klux Klan or even in attendance at the event. Despite sharing lawyers with the other men, it’s conceivable that he may have been an innocent bystander, falsely named, or otherwise the victim of mistaken identity during or following a chaotic event. * A person answering calls at the N.Y.C. Police Department’s Records Section said that arrest reports dating that far back were not available in any form. * "Charged with being disorderly, Thomas Erwin......and  Harry J. Free... were released on bail of $500 each.. Fred Trump of 175-24 Devonshire Road, Jamaica, was discharged" -- The L-E has become its own worst enemy.. it's become the bias it denounces .. this was inflammatory at best, yet intentionally run by executive decision.. Hope it's the
last straw" for those who are considering canceling their subscriptions.. I will keep mine so I can bring the "crap" the L-E prints to air..

---
L-E LIV's "soundoff": " It was refreshing to see Mayor Tomlinson refusing to remove the monument, in contrast to the cowardly politicians who removed statues in the middle of the night or those who steal flags from cemeteries. " -- Hmmm...

From the "we can dream, can't we" department: HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Democrats already prepping for 2020 candidates other than Trump * The Democratic National Committee is already preparing for the presidential election in 2020, and GOP opponents they are looking at include  *  The DNC list reportedly includes Vice President Pence, Ohio Governor John Kasich, Nebraska Sen. Ben Sasse, and even Nikki Haley, the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations" -- -- Good grief.. of course Democrats are wishing for another opponent.. Trump is unbeatable in 2020, and they know it and would give their souls to the Devil to get rid of Trump... wait a minute.... the Dems already has given the Devil their souls and have nothing left to bargain with...

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Michael Moore says he called Clinton camp to warn that Trump was going to win" -- and.... good grief, Hellary believes Michael Moore like she believes it's everybody else's fault but hers he was whipped at the ballot box! I bet Trump would have kinder words about Moore than Hellary would..

---
From the "when does the insanity stop" department: Online headline/story: "ESPN pulls Asian-American announcer from Virginia football game because he has a Confederate general's name * (Robert) Lee, an Asian-American sportscaster who started with the network in 2016, was moved to a different game "simply because of the coincidence of his name," ESPN said, referencing the Confederate general Robert E. Lee" -- Good grief.. what if he'd been an African-American named Robert Lee.. liberalism would have hemorrhaged !

---
Hmmm... I wonder how many men named "Robert Lee" were notified by Social Security that they are now dead?

---
Online headline: Niners assistant coach Katie Sowers becomes NFL's first openly LGBT coach" -- Good grief.. it's San Francisco.. does anyone even care? Besides, the players' wives probably feel better about her working in the locker rooms with their husbands..

---
For the record.. I sent the Southern Poverty Law Center a question about the "hate map" it publishes on its website.. I asked them why there was no category for "Islamic Hate Groups" (a.k.a. "cells"). We hear about them all the time when the FBI speaks, but the SPLC seems to ignore their existence...Hey, Boston, Orlando, NY, Ohio, San Bernadino, CA, et al.. the SPCL feels those were demonstrations of Ialamic "love".. What do you think? Oh.. did not hear back from the SPLC on my question....

---
From the "mainscream media lives in its own world" department - Online headline/story: "Salaries of reality, news and talk show stars" -- Hmmm.. Top dog in the world of liberalism is Ellen.... about $50 Million... hmmm.. as I recall, Rush Limbaugh earned $69,000,000.00... but of course, mainscream media believes "reality" shows are better than REAL LIFE.

---
You know, true Southern Heritage groups could distinguish themselves from the self-absorbed "hate groups" in a simple manner.. use the original "stars and bars" flag authorized by General Lee .. the square version., instead of the rectangle one that first appeared . The rectangle version was first introduced in 1863 as the "Naval Jack" to fly on ships. General Joe Johnson introduced this version to field combat in 1864 (possibly 1863, but documented in 1864). Anyway, the square Lee version is definitely a more elegant and worthy of remembrance flag than the "beach towel" version.

---
Online headline: 'Demon goat' appears in India, terrifying village with human-like face" -- Hmmm.. you really do have to wonder if the goat-herder was a lonely Islamic jihadist...

-----------------------------------------------

Online headline: "'Disorderly' Kennedy dad, daughter arrested over raucous house party" -- Guess "the bloom is off the Rose bush".... finally! Guess the Teflon coattails of Ted Kennedy has lost its "get out of jail free" magic.

---
You know.. it's cryptic ... and disturbing... that the recently rammed Naval ship was named for Senator John McCain.. I have a question, woukdn't it be more appropriate for Naval ships' names be reserved for Presidents (Commanders-in-Chief), or distinguished Naval service members... or at a minimum .. a state?

---
On one of HGTV's shows, a California couple with an "an all-in" budget of $1,000,000.00 was being shown 2 bedroom/2bath 1,500-to-1,800 square ft houses.. If I were the California governor, I'd ban any real estate shows from being shown nationally.. can you imagine how many families will never consider moving there regardless of what a job offer salary is?

---
Has anybody gotten any updates on that "high speed train" Mayor Tom-LYING-son wants in our future? Are there still dollars being spent on additional surveys or plans? Leyt's make this "THE issue for local State Representative and Senatorial races this and every two years after.

---
From the "possible scam of the year" department - Online headline/story: "Valerie Plame Wilson reportedly fundraising to buy Twitter to ban Trump from platform * Valerie Plame Wilson, the outed CIA spy, is working to raise enough money to buy a controlling share of Twitter and ban President Trump from the social media platform, *  Since launching the GoFundMe page on Aug. 16, Wilson has raised $5,000. Twitter is currently worth about $12 billion,  USA Today reported. She is attempting to raise $1 billion." -- Good grief.. even if she could raise the $1 BILLION, she still wouldn't get control of the company's voting power.. Sharehoilders are not going to support such an "economic bimbo" when the company is making them rich.. Now, what smart money will do if she raises the $1 BILLION to buy shares is SELL to her... then short the stock and buy it back lower as they bankrupt her.

---
Once again, Trump rules supreme in Arizona last night.. right out of the Reagan playbook, Trump addressed America face-to-face, and there was nothing mainscream media could do to stop it.. America is BACK!

---
From the "I see the L-E got the message" department - L-E headline/story: "Three homicides in three days. ‘We are tired of this happening in our community.’ * The coroner said the city has recorded 25 homicides this year. The current total is one short of 26 homicides his office investigated during 2016." -- At this rate, Columbus will blow through last years annual total by Labor Day! I am glad to see the L-E publish such info after I (and obviously many others) chastised them for not reporting such vitally needed info in previous stories about violent crime in Columbus.

---
You know, it was bad enough when Mayor Tom-LYING-son  took away our twice-a-week garbage pick-up service, but this week I had to take my garbage to the curb TWICE to get One pick-up (well, I'm hopeful it will get picked up today, because it wasn't on Monday)

---
From the "did the US District 9 Judges vacation in Spain this week?" department - Online headline: "Barcelona terror attack suspect freed by judge, three others ordered held" -- Good grief.. liberalism IS a worldwide plague!

---
L-E "headline: "MCSD board hires independent counsel for legal advice about controversial conduct" --
Thank heaven for Frank and John as the rest of the MCSB tries to insulate itself and its contracted Legal Service from scrutiny about wasting more tax dollars.

---
L-E editorial headline/comment: "EDITORIAL * In politics, ‘talk’ truly isn’t cheap *  BY DUSTY NIX  * According to the AJC’s Tamar Hallerman, the state’s 13 incumbent House members collectively spent almost $13 million in the two years before the 2016 election. All were reelected by at least 20 percentage points, and some faced no major party opposition.

Democrat David Scott ran unopposed in the Georgia 13th, and spent more than $938,000. Republican Tom Graves of the 14th, who faced two minor primary challengers and was unopposed in November, spent more than $770,000. * In 2015, a 75th birthday celebration organized by the campaign of John Lewis, the Atlanta Democrat and civil rights icon, cost $75,000 for the venue, $30,000 for catering and $50,000 for an event producer. The more than 1,500 “guests,” incidentally, paid between $25 and $5,000 each for tickets." --  Hmmm... Let's not forget District 2 Congressman Bishop.. he raised over $1,100,000.00 from
"large" donors and PACs (over $800,000.00), and but less than $10,000 from small  (under $200.00) donors..  He even has a fund raising golf tournament here in Columbus at a golf course that's not even in his district! Yeah, Bishop is "really in touch" with his constituents.. NOT.. it's more like he's under the "touch of the THUMBS" of lobbyists.

Tuesday, August 22, 2017

Online headline/story: "Top Republican senator: 'It's too difficult to say' whether Trump will be 2020 nominee * Sen. Susan Collins, a Maine Republican who did not support President Donald Trump as her party's presidential nominee in 2016, on Monday said it's unclear whether Trump will be the Republican nominee in 2020." -- "Top Republican"? Outside of MSNBC and CNN, Collins doesn't even qualify as a RINO... she's more like a "WHINO"..

--
From the Graduates of Brooklyn Law, demand your tuition back" department - Online headline/story: "Law School Professor Pens Essay Explaining How Eclipse Is “Racist” *  Are you looking forward to Monday’s solar eclipse — the first full eclipse to hit the United States in decades? You filthy, filthy racist. * That’s at least the take of Brooklyn Law School professor Alice Ristroph, who used a staggering 4,544 words in The Atlantic to explaining why the phenomenon of the moon blocking the sun just wasn’t diverse enough for her tastes. * “On August 21, 2017, a total solar eclipse will arrive mid-morning on the coast of Oregon,” Ristroph writes. “The moon’s shadow will be about 70 miles wide, and it will race across the country faster than the speed of sound, exiting the eastern seaboard shortly before 3 p.m. local time. It has been dubbed the Great American Eclipse, and along most of its path, there live almost no black people.” --  What she going to claim next... God, the creator of the heavens and Earth and all people's is a racist for creating the eclipse path?

---
Local question for Columbus, GA citizens.. Of those who normally have their garbage picked up on Mondays before noon.... who actually got their garbage picked up yesterday? My neighborhood did not.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Poll: Majority of Americans side with Trump in defending Confederate memorials * The data comes from the latest Rasmussen poll, which shows that 50 percent of likely U.S. voters agree with Trump's tweet that it is "sad to see the history and culture of our great country being ripped apart with the removal of our beautiful statues and monuments." Some 37 percent disagree with the statement, while 12 percent are undecided." -- Whatta culture shock for mainscream media.. a straight forward poll is hard to manipulate.. libs got less support than Hellary did.. just like a straight head-to-head election result.

---
From the "armpit of hypocrisy" department - HuffPOOPOO headline: "Anti-fascist stabs innocent man after haircut gets him mistaken for a neo-Nazi * the only explanation he said his friends could come up with for the attack: “They say it’s my haircut.”" -- Hmmm... I guess if our hair is not purple or "rainbowed", we are being judged by people who feel they are judged on their appearances...

---
I'm about worn out with seeing the people involved with "Together 2017".. unlike a well-known adage,, "things get done when no one gets minds who gets the credit" it seems the "Together 2017" effort is more about promoting the "doers" rather than what is being done for the community.

---
From the " now we know how Bishop gets re-elected in GA District 2 yet his district economics are pitiful" department.-- This was taken at the entry at Green Island CC yesterday.. There are courses in Columbus that are in Bishop's district, but that must not be good enough for him.. either that or his "donors" don't want to go back into his district unnecessarily.. Oh.. this is the 4th year in a row he's picked this venue... I would think that a course/community he represents would have appreciated the revenue surge this event would have brought.

Rep. Sanford Bishop - Georgia District 02 • OpenSecrets:

http://www.opensecrets.org/members-of-congress/summary?cid=N00002674&cycle=2016

Scroll down a bit in Bishop's website... an amazing figure is that he got only 0.88 % of his contributions for his 2015/16 re-election campaign funds from donations of less than $200.00 (total of $9,735.00 ) yet received over $1,100,000.00 from "large" and "PAC" contributions. Yep.. he's really into representing District 2... NOT! Nor GA nor AMERICA either

I also find it "funny" for a person to use a golf event as a personal political fund raiser.. I understand getting folks out for golf to raise money for a charitable organization... but a political one?

---
Did you see the "total eclipse" picture on the front page of the Columbus L-E? Excuse me, but why would a picture taken in Kansas be featured over what Columbus experienced.. guess the L-E used another McClatchy paper to do its work...

---
Uber-LIV's L-E "soundoff": "I’m not much of a morning news TV guy. I get most of my news from the Ledger. But now I turn on the TV to see who Trump has fired." -- "Get most of my news from the Ledger"? What a pathetic view of current and past history this writer must have of what really goes and went on in the past..

---
L-E story: "The University of Texas removed statues of Robert E. Lee and other prominent Confederate figures overnight from the main area of the Austin campus early Monday, hours after the school’s president ordered they be taken down. * University President Greg Fenves announced the decision late Sunday, saying such monuments have become “symbols of modern white supremacy and neo-Nazism.” * Fenves said the statues of Lee, Gen. Albert Sidney Johnston and Confederate Postmaster General John H. Reagan would be moved to the Briscoe Center for American History on campus." -- "University President Greg Fenves announced the decision late Sunday, saying such monuments have become “symbols of modern white supremacy and neo-Nazism"? How can a University claim to be a center of truth and enlightenment when its president is an obvious bigot? Now, did he ask that Austin Mosques be removed for representing Islamic Terrorism?

---
From the "end of discussion about whether the 2nd Amendment is good for America" department - L-E headline/story: "Ohio judge shot in ‘ambush,’ returns gunfire * An Ohio judge was shot Monday in what authorities called an ambush. * Police said a man ran up to Judge Joseph Bruzzese and began shooting as he approached the courthouse in Steubenville. Bruzzese returned fire, shooting at least five rounds, Jefferson County Sheriff Fred Abdalla said." --  Hmmm.. I guess this justifies "what's good for the judge is good for the jurors"

---
L-E headline/story: "Bergdahl chooses judge, not jury, for military trial * Defense attorneys had questioned whether Bergdahl could get a fair trial by jury because of negative comments President Donald Trump made on the campaign trail." -- "questioned whether Bergdahl could get a fair trial by jury because of negative comments President Donald Trump made"> Good grief.. Bergdahl is not being charged for what Trump siad, he's being charged for what being a traitor while wearing the uniform of an American soldier!

---
L-E editorial headline: "EDITORIAL * Jail crowding problem resurfaces" -- Good grief.. is the L-E finally realizing that Dar was right all along and the Mayor was living up to her name... Tom-LYING-son?

---
L-E guest editorial headline/content: "Georgia doesn’t have a spending problem * BY CHARLIE HARPER * To illustrate, let’s look at how Georgia actually spends its money — your money." --
This is a Fred Sanford looking heavenward, grasping his chest and saying, "Elizabeth, this is the big one" moment.. a mainscream media writer ADMITTING that what politicians spend is "Your (our) money"!
Why is it that liberals feel the only way to solve one tax reduction issue is to stick their hands in the taxpayers other pocket? Unfortunately, too many politicians have learned they can buy votes by promising segment of voters that he/she can get them what they want and other people will pay for it.. even though those are always broken promises..

L-E headline/story: "MCSD board to seek loan, asks city to reduce tax collection fee *  the school board passed a resolution requesting CCG to reduce the fee it charges MCSD for collecting property taxes by the dollar amount it will cost MCSD to borrow the money. *  Although the school district previously announced it postponed nonessential expenditures while CCG deals with the property tax controversy, MCSD chief financial officer Theresa Thornton told the school board during its monthly work session last Monday evening the administration now recommends securing a Tax Anticipation Note." -- Hmmm.. while I'm in total agreeance  with  the MCSB "demanding" relief from the loan costs because the way Mayor Tom-LYING-son has thrown our property tax situation into turmoil because  borrowing against expected revenue at competitively bid interests rates for a couple of months is a great deal better than 2.5% to the City for such time (2.5% for 2 months is a loosely calculated $15% APR).. but... BUT I'm am disturbed that here is an ex]isting term for such a transaction.. a "Tax Anticipation Note".. I do not want the MCSB/MCSD learning to lean on "anticipated revenues" as collateral for "now" loans.. we already pay bond revenues for using SPLOST revenues before they are received......Oh, and thanks for John Thomas for bring this option up!

From the "I wonder what the Las Vegas odds are that the public will be dealing with her again" department - L-E headline/story: "Teen admits lesser charge in stabbing attack * One of two Wisconsin girls charged with repeatedly stabbing a classmate to impress the fictitious horror character Slender Man pleaded guilty Monday, but she still faces a trial in the case next month focused on her mental health * The plea means her trial will look only at whether she is legally responsible for the crime or not guilty because of mental illness." -- Another plea bargain so a DA can claim to have won another case while hoping this girl will not come back an bite us on the butt down the road.. pathetic!

L-E headline/story: "Tech firms make push toward TV *  Apple has more than $1 billion budgeted for original programming, Facebook wants its own version of “Scandal” and Google is ready to spend up to $3 million per episode on a drama." -- Good grief.. America is DOOMED in the future... what America doesn't need is more programs that depict.. encourage,... "snowflakes"  making decisions when so many have no degree oriented careers and live in their parents' homes.
