From the "depths of hypocrisy libs will delve into" department - Online story: "First lady Melania Trump fired back Friday at a Massachusetts elementary school librarian who rejected her donation of Dr. Seuss books, claiming their illustrations are examples of “racist propaganda.” * To celebrate “National Read a Book Day,” the first lady had sent out a collection of 10 Dr. Seuss books to one school in each state across the nation. The titles included: "The Cat in the Hat"; "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish"; "Wacky Wednesday"; "Green Eggs and Ham"; and "Oh, the Places You’ll Go!" * She followed in the footsteps of her predecessor, Michelle Obama, who often read Dr. Seuss books to children. Former first ladies Hillary Clinton and Barbara Bush also read to children at Dr. Seuss-themed educational events. * Liz Phipps Soeiro, a librarian at a public school in Cambridge, wrote a letter to the first lady, which was then published on The Horn Book blog, notifying Mrs. Trump that her school would “not be keeping the titles” for their collection, explaining that her school didn’t have a “NEED” for the books, due to her school and library’s “award-winning” status. * “I work in a district that has plenty of resources, which contributes directly to ‘excellence,’” Soeiro wrote. “My students have access to a school library with over nine thousand volumes and a librarian with a graduate degree in library science.” * Soeiro went on to slam the White House and Education Secretary Betsy DeVos for not gifting the books to “underfunded and underprivileged communities,” -- Hmm.. let's recap.. the First Lady sent a collection of Dr Seuss award winning children's book to a public school library.. the librarian judged them "racist", and the librarian judged that her public school was privileged enough that the gift should be sent to lesser schools because she had a degree in Library Sciences... Hmmm sounds like the librarian is negatively judgmental of everyone else .. and ought to be relieved of duties as a public school employee.

---

Update on above - Online headline: "Mayor of Dr. Seuss’ hometown blasts librarian who rejected books" -- The mayor.. Democrat I might add, blasted Public School librarian Liz Phipps Soeiro for her hypocrisy, and sent a message to the Trumps that they. and their gift of books, would be welcome in his neighboring town.. What's missing is a reaction from the mayor and school board chair in Cambridge, MA condemning the librarian, and their disclose of the librarians' immediate termination.

From the "the (Tom) PRICE is (too far) RIGHT" department - Online headline/story: "Flight furor: Obama officials also took pricey, non-commercial planes * The use of private planes by President Trump’s Cabinet has come under intense media scrutiny in recent days, but officials in the Obama administration also took pricey flights on the government’s dime, including for personal trips. * Top figures during President Barack Obama’s tenure who used non-commercial planes for travel included then-attorney generals Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch, then-FBI director Robert Mueller, and then-CIA director and defense secretary Leon Panetta. " -- Hmm.. I guess mainscream media looks the other way when "it's the LEFT at the gate"..

U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price resigned under pressure from President Donald Trump on Friday in an uproar over Price's use of costly private charter planes for government business.

Online headline/story: "Cops using sneakers to spot MS-13 members, gang leader says * Forget the faces covered with tattoos. The gang signs. Even the guns and knives sticking out of their jeans. * The real way to spot an MS-13 gangster is by his sneakers. * Edwin Manica Flores, known as “Shugar,” allegedly told other gang leaders to avoid wearing clothes and colors associated with MS-13 as to not attract police attention. * He specifically told them to steer clear of blue and white Nike Cortez shoes," -- Good grief! Can you not see an ACLU lawsuit against the government for "profiling a shoe"?

Oh! Catch the President's Cup matches this morning.. Our guys have taken an 8-2 lead after two days. It's own early as not to compete against football, but should get you pumped up for the games later today..

From the "maybe we should rethink "the political party system" department - The mayor of Athens, GA a multi-decade Democrat has been "shunned" by the Athens-Clarke County Democrats... because she is endorsing her Republican Houston Gaines in the November 7 non-partisan race to fill an "open" House seat. You know.. "party politics" has reached an unacceptable low level when a local politician recognizes a candidate with another point-of-view would be better for her area than her "party's" candidate.

---

Online story: "The Savannah City Council approved on Thursday a resolution for Georgia lawmakers to rename the Eugene Talmadge Memorial Bridge, which is currently named for a former governor and segregationist." -- Hmmm... seems to me the Savannah City Council tiptoed around a couple of other Talmadge issues.. his corruptness.. and the fact that Talmadge was a DEMOCRAT.. surely the Savannah City Council and the Savannah Morning News knew this but decided NOT to mention it...

---

Online story: "(Georgia) State Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens has approved premium increases of more than 50 percent for the fout insurers STILL participating i Georgia's health care exchanges for next year" -- Hmmm...Georgia voters should "remind" Democrat Representatives David Scott, Hank Johnson, John Lewis, and Sanford Bishop by voting them out of office in 2018..

I made mention yesterday of a solo comment made supporting/endorsing Skip Henderson after his announced Mayoral race candidacy.. her Facebook public info indicated she was employed as a City Counselor in a city in one of our neighboring counties. I commented that the only support (at the time) for Skip (I'm withholding my support of him until all the candidates who might run have declared one way or another) happened to be someone from out of town. She responded that she was an employee at the Columbus Government Center. After checking the L-E public database of City employees, I find that she is indeed a "court coordinator for the Solicitor General".. Help me out here.. isn't it illegal.. or at least "frowned upon" for a city employee to campaign for a candidate running for a city office?

From the "conflicting headlines department - Online headlines: "San Juan mayor slams Trump administration's comments about Puerto Rico" and "Governor of Puerto Rico Confirms Trump's Responded to His Requests For Help-- Wait a minute.. don't governors "trump" mayors? Is San Juan's Mayor Carmen Yulîn Cruz to be remembered as the "bookend" matching former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagins following Katrina.

---

Online headline: "Terrifying hit that marred Packers-Bears game could result in a suspension thanks to a new rule" -- Hmmm.. so the NFL will invoke punishment on a "new" rule, but will not enforce a rule on the books that been there "forever"? Hey, ACLU... here's a REAL case for you to "tackle"....

---

Online headline: "Former Pink Floyd Member Roger Waters Kneels in Solidarity with NFL Players" -- Hmm.. from henceforth the group formerly known as "Pink Floyd" shall be referred to as "Pink-O Floyd"/

---

Online headline: "'Sanctuary' cities targeted by ICE in immigration raids as nearly 500 arrested" -- You know.. if any of the illegals rounded up have any record of being in the custody of a city illegally invoking "sanctuary" status to avoid helping enforce our federal immigration laws, those cities should be billed for the costs of ICE having to round them up.

---
L-E headline/story: "Defense attorneys seek separate trials in Upatoi triple homicide *
Attorney Jennifer Curry, who represents Burks, moved to suppress evidence police found on her client’s cell phone, arguing police had insufficient justification for the search. * She said police first arrested her client and another suspect for possessing marijuana at Spencer High School, and had the other suspect’s mother give them consent to search her son’s two cell phones, which the mother had bought for him to use. * The mother could not have given police permission to search Burks’ cell phone, Curry said." -- Excuse me, but is this attorney trying to set up one of those "inadequate defense" pleas after her client is convicted? Even she admits the phones were bought/owned by the mother and given to her son "to use", and if you've ever dealt with a cellphone company, you know that it's only the account holder that can make changes/purchases on that account.

From the "if there had been a "The Military Apprentice" TV show, this would have been the first contestant Trump would have told, "You're FIRED" department" department - Online headline/story: "General who oversaw Hurricane Katrina response slams Trump on Puerto Rico * “It’s kind of like Katrina: We got it. We got it. Oh, s--t, send in the cavalry,” retired Lt. Gen. Russel Honore told Bloomberg of the response to Hurricane Maria. “This is a hit on White House decision making.” * Honore came to national attention 12 years ago when President George W. Bush tapped him to fix the bungled response to Katrina in New Orleans. * He said the federal government needs to send more military support to the island of nearly 3.5 million people. * The model you want is what was done in Florida” after Hurricane Irma in early September, Honore told Bloomberg. He pointed to the thousands of National Guard troops that were mobilized throughout the state ahead of the storm. * The Louisiana native said if given the command, he’d move 50,000 troops to Puerto Rico, where he said the devastation was worse than what New Orleans dealt with after Katrina. * “They need to scale up,” Honore said. “(In) Katrina, I had 20,000 federal troops. Not federal workers, federal troops. * “I had 20 ships and over 240 helicopters,” he continued about Katrina. “And Puerto Rico is bigger than Katrina.” -- Good grief.. America is fortunate this logistics idiot IS retired! Comparing Louisiana's issues with Puerto Rico is at best stupid.. Louisiana had logistical support of America's power companies to repair the electrical grid, and is part of our mainland, and accessible by highways. Puerto Rico is an island,, an island in the middle of the hurricane season. If Trump had sent 50,000 men and 700 plus helicopters (we're talking the logistical idiots "scale") in ahead of Maria, this retired general would have slammed Trump for that decision also. Hey, General, where would those 50,000 men and 700 helicopters weathered out Maria if they HAS be sent in ahead?

Online headline: "Petition to remove Ray Lewis statue gets 50,000 signatures after he knelt for the national anthem" -- You know, this could have been avoided altogether if NO statue of Ray Lewis was erected AT ALL. The statue h=of him was about as well thought out as St Louis honoring a dead drug dealer.

---

From the "better qualifications need to be implemented for becoming a Congressperson" department - Online story: "Democratic Texas Congressman Al Green is calling on black Americans to turn down White House invitations until President Donald Trump apologizes for calling NFL players who take a knee during the national anthem a "sons of bitches." -- Tell you what I'd do if I were Trump.. I'd issue a statement to all NFL players who have disrespected our National Flag and Anthem, and their supporters, that the only apologizing necessary would be to the family of Pat Tillman, and every active and veteran military personnel's families by the NFL executive/owners and the participating "sob" players. Oh, and Texas need to apologize for Al Green!

Through the grapevine of BCers. I have learned of a new.. most descriptive word for Democrat voters in Baltimore.. Balti-morons.. so much that was perplexing is now crystal clear..

---

It was an emotional moment when Rep Steve Scalise appeared in the House for the first time since he was shot ny a liberal assassin. Unfortunately, the enthusiasm was lesser on the left side of the House.

---

From the "she must be making this up on the run" department - HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Michelle Obama faces backlash after saying female Trump voters went 'against their own voice' * She said if you're a female and voted for Trump you lost your voice" -- Michelle Obama is an oxymoron in her own world...does anyone remember her chastising women who voted for her husband in 2008 instead of Hellary?

---

Online headline/story: "Zealandia: Sunken 8th Continent Reveals Its Buried Secrets * A nine-week voyage took scientists from around the world to drill and explore the seafloor off New Zealand and Australia. They found evidence of land-based fossils, revealing that the ancient landmass wasn't always buried beneath the waves. * "Zealandia, a sunken continent long lost beneath the oceans, is giving up its 60 million-year-old secrets through scientific ocean drilling," Jamie Allan, program director in the U.S. National Science Foundation's Division of Ocean Sciences" -- Hmmm.. so much for rising waters being the direct result of burning fossil fuels...

---

You know, Hellary made the mistake feeling that garnering a huge majority of the "popular" vote in California and New York would be tantamount to winning the White House..after all , the two states alone have over 30% of the number of Electoral College vote it takes to get elected. Fortunately, our Founding Fathers foresaw the possibility of politicians catering to big population states with taxpayer paid government programs to buy those votes. How does catering to.people's weaknesses make her a good model for our daughters?

---

What is Sen. Rand Paul's objection to Graham-Cassidy? His inflexibility for any plan other than his own has no support from either party nor the voters.

---

You know, the most infuriating response during a conversation about different viewpoints is one liberals consistently respond with...."we'll just have to agree to disagree".. Such response basically means the utterer has nothing to support his/her position, and/or just is not willing/able to listen/engage to intelligent discussion.

---

The L-E posted the MCSD story about increased graduation rates... yet doesn't mention the pitiful number of seniors who took the SAT and ACT college tests which exposes the poor quality of education most received..

---

L-E story: " An Atlanta committee will vote this afternoon on the future of a measure that would allow the city to move forward with reducing penalties for possession of marijuana. * The measure would reduce the penalty for possession of less than 1 oz. of marijuana to a $75 fine and no jail time." -- Good grief...making minor amounts a wrist slap will encourage every drug dealing gang to put tweens out on street corners selling just under an ounce of marijuana.

---

Stupor_LIV's L-E "soundoff": "When are the Columbus police going to stop chasing fleeing cars? The harm caused by chasing these fools outweighs any good. Catch them when they leave cover." -- Well, I'll tell you what.. when the CPD can station retired military snipers on every street corner with orders to "take out" any cars driven by criminals, I still want the CPD to chase them down.. I just hope the CPD spends more time on the firing range improving their pistol skills so we don't have to pay medical costs for wounded criminals.

L-E headline/story: "MUSCOGEE COUNTY * Alleged voter fraud moves to AG; prosecution possible * On Sept. 20, Muscogee County Director of Elections and Registration Nancy Boren testified at a State Election Board hearing, describing the impact of more than 20,000 voter registration applications submitted by canvassers working for the New Georgia Project in 2014 and 2016 * “Applications we received from these canvassers were extremely difficult to process, missing critical information, (containing) duplicate registrations submitted within days of each other, often five or more with different last four of Social Security number, driver’s license number and dates of birth by one day or more in one year; same handwriting on hundreds of forms … ” Boren told election officials. “A review of 3,112 pending voters for Muscogee County reflect the results of the difficulties with these forms.” * Of 208 voter applications investigated by state election officials, 52 were from Muscogee County, according to someone in the Secretary of State’s Office who didn’t want to be identified. * The New Georgia Project was founded in 2014 by an organization called Third Sector Development, led by Democratic House Minority Leader Stacey Abrams, who is running for governor. It was touted as an attempt to register residents underrepresented on the voter rolls" -- While it's "nice" that the State Board of Elections is "looking into" this, from my own past personal experiences with the State Board of Elections, said board is basically a "kangaroo court" with zilch powers to correct the situation. Sadly, the Democratic Party will do nothing either to kick Abrams out of its primary.. and we can only pray that the local Board of Elections continues to be diligent in uncovering intentional as well as accidental voting FRAUD attempts..

Does UpChuck Schmoozer even know what's going on in his home state? He opposes every tax cut proposal Trump wants to initiate, yet the state of NY is aggressively promoting new lower tax rates on businesses in its ad campaign.

---

You know, Trump's proposed tax cut plan would hit high income, high priced house owners particularly "hard" in New York and California. Of course the Democrats are against the bill.. high income, high priced house owners in California and New York are the biggest donors to the Democrats. Never mind that Trump's proposal raises standard deductions to $24,000 for families, or that small business owners get breaks that allow them better cash flow so they can hire more workers.. With the Democrats, it's all about protecting the interests of their donors.

Soapbox Moment: Two major attempts of using outside money to influence Congressional elections have been thwarted by voters in the last few months.. This past Tuesday, Alabama voters elected Judge Roy Moore over Luther Strange, the appointed successor to Sen Jeff Sessions' seat despite huge amounts of money poured into the selection of Strange by outside Republicans. Earlier this summer, a $30-to-$50,000,000.00 cash input by the National Democrats to get a non-district resident elected to fill the seat of Tom Price was beat back by Georgia's District 6 voters in what has to be more embarrassing to the DNC than Hellary's loss. We need a new campaign contribution law restricting who can donate to election campaigns.. and one that will pass muster with the US Supreme Court. A simple law requiring a donor (or over 50% of any PAC/Committee) to actually be able to vote in the election of the candidate he/she donates to would cover all aspects without infringing on the donor's rights. Example: Every registered-to-vote CITIZEN could contribute to the Presidential candidates. Only registered-to-vote CITIZENS of a state could donate in its US Senate races, all registered-to-vote CITIZENS of a candidate's District in his/her state could donate to in US Congressional and state senate/representative races, and all registered-to-vote resident CITIZENS could donate to candidates in City/County elections. Like I said, just common sense simple rules..

From the "now we know how budgets get busted" department - Online headline/story:

"Congress may pick a fight over an important feature left off new Air Force One planes * "Strangely to me, the Air Force has just announced that the next version of Air Force One will not have in-flight refueling capability. What do you make of that?” Arkansas Republican Sen. Tom Cotton asked Marine Corps Gen. Joseph Dunford on Tuesday, during a hearing to confirm Dunford's reappointment to chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

* "I think that was a decision that was not made by the Air Force, but made by the White House," Dunford said, "and I think it had to do with the fiscal constraints on the program." * Cotton, calling the decision strange, suggested lawmakers and military leaders might reverse it. "I think we might need to revisit that decision here on Capitol Hill," he said, according to Air Force Times. * the 747-8 models can fly almost 1,800 nautical miles more than the jets they will replace without refueling, according to Defense One — and even though presidents have never used in-flight refueling on the current planes — Dunford said the need to make ground stops for refueling, even in the case of emergency, "will certainly be a limiting factor, and we'll have to plan accordingly." -- Good grief.. if a refueling tanker jet can get to Air Force 1 in an emergency, then Air Force 1 could land and refuel just as easily.. and more safely. Trump's right... the "swamp" must be drained!

---

I'm tired of the mainscream media and Democratic Party claims of Russian influences of misinformation.. Of course, if there are any two entities that know about and practicing "influence by misinformation", the Dems and mainscream media are professionals.

---

Last March I mentioned that Charter/Spectrum broke its promise of 3 years of no increases when I switched over last January, but then Charter/Spectrum took "The Golf Channel off my "package" and said I'd have to "buy" a sports package for an additional $12.00 a month to get it back. I mentioned to them that it was they who promised me I'd pay the same price for this package for 3 years. I can live without the Golf Channel.. but this week, I sent a proposal to Charter/Spectrum telling them I'd trade in all my ESPN channels for returning the Golf Channel to me.

---

Maybe this will get the NFL's attention.. Direct TV has reported a surge of customers canceling their NFL packages. It was also noted that various networks were having to refund ad monies to sponsors of NFL games because the networks could not deliver the minimum "eyes" promised..

---

From the "is there any wonder Megan Kelly had to make a public scene at Fox to get attention" department - HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Jane Fonda snaps at Megyn Kelly after question about plastic surgery * "You've been an example to everyone on how to age beautifully and with strength and unapologetically," Kelly said to Fonda. "You admit you've had work done, which I think is to your credit. You look amazing. Why did you say that -- I read that you're not proud to admit that you've had work done. Why not?" * The 79-year-old movie star appeared shell-shocked by the question, and she took a moment to respond. * "We really want to talk about that now?" she retorted. * "Well, one of the things people think when they look at you is how amazing you look," Kelly responded quickly." -- Good grief..Megan Kelly asked Jane Fonda about cosmetic surgery tweaks rather than what Americans really want Fonda to address.. her traitorous trip to a Vietnam prisoner-of-war camp! Good night... uh.. GOODBYE, Megan.

---

I almost laugh when I see ads for trucks saying $12,000.00 OFF.. Good grief.. I remember when you could have bought 3 current model trucks for $12,000.00.. Even worse is that if you do buy one with "$12,000.00 OFF" savings, as soon as you drive it off the lot, it still loses another 20 or 30% of it's "value" .

---

Looking at just the Columbus Council members' home assessment changes made by the new software, you really have to know that banks/mortgage companies will have to re-evaluate ALL of their "home equity loans". When a home is re-assessed $33.000 -to-$100,000.00 LESS than it was the year before, that hits directly at any equity value of the property.

---

A friend of mine told me of her re-assessment horror story last night.. the 1,200 sq ft, 1923 built rental home she bought in 1996 for $54,000.00 was re-assessed at over $83,000.00 in the new assessments. She had it professional evaluated this week and it was valued at $56,000.00. Fortunately, she already had an appeal on the re-assessment value, so she can add the professional evaluation to her appeal documentation, but why should she have to do this? The Board of Equalization needs to be 100% recalled for dereliction of its duties to the citizens of Columbus.. too bad "drawn and quartered" is no longer a punishment option.

---
From the "utterly mis/uninformed LIV" department - Uber LIV's L-E "soundoff": "GOP Bill of Right Wouldn't it be nice if Republican voters believed First Amendment rights were as important as Second Amendment rights?" -- Excuse me.. can this "soundoffer" point to a single Hellary rally or liberal campus speaker has been attacked by Republicans?

---
From the "well, I finally caught Trump in a lie" department - L-E headline/story: "Trump’s tax plan cuts rates, ends many deductions * The Trump administration on Wednesday proposed the most sweeping changes to the federal tax code in decades, outlining a framework that would cut individual and corporate taxes, eliminate widely used exemptions and deductions, and tilt the United States closer to the type of tax system embraced by other industrialized nations. * As he departed the White House for Indiana, Trump insisted that his tax plan would benefit the middle class and not the rich. “My plan is for working people and my plan is for jobs,” Trump said. “I don’t benefit.” -- Hmmm... Trump just lied about saying "I don't benefit"... Trump does benefit.. his vision will benefit him by seeing America Great Again"!

---
From the "put this in your calendar app today" department - Just a reminder that the Exchange Club of Columbus will be selling its "world famous" foot-long hot dogs October 12-14th at the Columbus-Ft Benning Shrine Club on Edgewood.. If you can't get by to dine, call in and get a lunch order for your entire office crew.. get meals to take out or dine at the Shrine Club. Call phone-in orders to 706-341-1947 or fax them to 706-561-099 - Make an extra donation as well...Columbus has really benefited over the years from Exchange Club projects!

L-E headline: "Henderson’s decision on Columbus mayoral race coming Thursday" -- You know, Skip could have been a shoe-in if he'd stepped forward and shown leadership against the TAX Freeze Assault and the Property Tax Re-Assessment issue..  Now,, I don't know.. guess we'll have to wait to see if Tollie Strode will step to the plate..

---
L-E story: "Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg agreed in an interview Tuesday night that sexism was a “major, major factor” in Hillary Clinton’s loss to Donald Trump last November." -- You know.. Ginsburg may be right.. but it's because real women don't accept Hellary or Justice Ginsburg as realistic examples of "real women role models".

Online headline: "Report: North Korean officials are reaching out to Republican analysts for help understanding Trump" -- Heh heh heh...KIm Jong Ooooops should irts realize that he's not dealing with Obama any more; secondly, he'll get better advice from watx-ching the original Steve Reeves version of "Superman" when he says, "I'm here to fight for truth and justice and the American Way."

---

Kim Jong Oooops isn't alone in wondering how to "understand" Trump.. Democrats don't.. establishment Republicans don't, and mainscream media don't.. Neither do black activists.. they are so use to being catered to by politicians who just lay down and concede their concerns/actions are "right", while Trump says, "show me".. That is what is happening to the NFL right now.. activism is being called out for what it actually is.. just the wrong issue on the wrong stage..

---

Soapbox Moment: History is neither right nor wrong.. history is just the recording of what was. We have choices today.. we can remember and move on with a good idea of how to avoid stumbling over the same obstacles as in the past.. or we can turn our heads backwards and stare at the mistakes, and trip over the same ones while blindly trying to advance without visual guidance.

LeBron James says only uneducated people voted for Trump..guess that means LeBron voted for Trump.

---

I think every NFL owner, coach, player and management exec should be made to visit every member of Pat Tillman's family and explain  why they equate disrespecting our National Flag and Anthem as a suitable  protest for social injustices each feels he/she has experienced.

---

Hey, mainscream media... has not the name Emanuel Kidega Samson crossed over your news feed? You know, the immigrant from Sudan who shot up a small Christian church in Antioch, TN... I guess a real story isn't as important as trying to blame Trump for a bunch of football people being outed for misplaced judgement.

---

I heard something yesterday, but haven't seen confirmation that I can say makes it a fact, but if Congress has removed federal spending on major sports facilities in the future, I'm all for it!

Official news from Magnolia Market arrived yesterday.. ad news.. I remember when the movie scene in the  Black Sox scandal when a little boy looks mournfully at Shoeless Joe Jackson and says, "say it ain't so, Joe".. I'm looking at the announcement from Joanna Gaines about this being the last season for "Fixxer Upper", and I speak for my bride as we;; when I say, "say it ain't so, Jo".

Every St Louis police officer should boycott patrolling any neighborhood any St Louis Councilperson or their staff members live in.

Online headline: "15 Cities to Live in if You Hate Trump" -- Not even going to insult your intelligence by naming any of them.. they are self-evident by the mayors' political affiliation of the cities..

NOT! Burger King has now associated the horrifying clown with every McDonald's in the world to even those who will never see "IT".

From the "when is enough going to actually BE ENOUGH" department - Online headline/story: "Teen who shot cop was loose thanks to judge's slap on the wrist * The Yonkers cop who was shot in the face during an armed ambush Monday left the hospital to the cheers of fellow officers — as it emerged Tuesday that the teen who blasted her was free thanks to a Bronx judge’s leniency. * (Kayla Maher) was struck by a bullet cops say was fired by 18-year-old Frank Valencia of New Rochelle. * According to the Bronx district attorney, Valencia had been released by a judge a week earlier in a case involving his possession of a semi-automatic handgun, 300 rounds of ammunitions — plus a machete and a set of brass knuckles * Because he was 17 at the time, Judge George Villegas of Bronx Supreme Court gave him a sweet deal at his Sept. 20 sentencing, in which he received only probation and youthful-offender status" -- Good grief.. Violent street thugs/gang members can not be treated like children...our court system has delved deeper into being a major part of social injustice... now it the NFL players said this what they are protesting, we could be a bit sympathetic.. but it's not what they are saying.

So the tax bills are approved.. looks like we should start analyzing Council members' FMV assessments... half went up..and half went down... some even WAY DOWN.. and since they ALL are Homestead Exempted/Tax Frozen, how did the Board of Equalization handle them.. are they pluses or minuses?

First the "UPS" from 2016:
Huff's went up from $121,259 to $156110..
Baker's went up from $259,749 to $262,070
Woodson's went up from$107,149 to $121,720
Barnes' went up from $66,060 to $86,700
Allen's went up from $241,507 to $283,130

Now, according to what we believe, their actual tax value will be at the 2016 frozen rate, so technically, their taxes should be based on the same FMV of 2016

Now for the "DOWNS" from 2016:
Thomas' was FMV'd at $283,500 but now is FMV'd at $247,670..a decrease of about 13%
Pugh's was FMV'd at $156,023 but now is FMV'd at $98,250... a decrease of about 37%
Henderson's was FMV'd at $346,157 but now is $345,050.. a decrease of about 1%
Davis' was FMV'd at $703,685 but now is FMV's at $592,060... a decrease of about 16%
Garrett's was bought at $210,000 in 2016 but is now FMV's at $199,080.. a decrease in value of 5% in one year.

Davis's situation needs to be delved into.. he bought acreage in 1997 for $158,333 per acre for the 2.88 acres. Last year, the homestead exempt 2 acres were FMV'd at $108,900 but should have been valued at $316,667 alone, and the other unprotected .88 acres should have been valued at $139,000 but were valued at only $47.000

Now, before the Tax Office sends out ANY new bills, these 10 properties should aired and parsed openly so the rest of us will have some idea of how their property will be affected.

From the "averages and results are not always what they appear to be" department: L-E headline/story: "MCSD beats Georgia average on SAT for first time * The Muscogee County School District’s average total score on the SAT beat the state average for the first time (by 1 point) and the average of Georgia’s three other second-tier cities by more than 50 points – and is 9 points shy of the national average.

MCSD’s average total score is 1051, Georgia’s is 1050 and the nation’s is 1060, according to results for the graduating class of 2017 released Tuesday by the New York-based College Board, which administers the SAT college entrance exam.: -- First I would challenge the "fact" that this is the first time Muscogee County has bested the GA average.. I'd like to see the 1950s and 60s numbers.. Secondly..also throw in the FACT that new SAT scoring eliminates the "penalty" for wrong answers as was the case in the past.. making "guessing" advantageous. Thirdly - with the exception of Columbus High School (85%), only 41% of MCSD seniors took the SAT versus 61% in all Georgia. In fact, 7 of our high schools had less than 42% of seniors taking the tests, and 3 of those had less than 20% participation.. Progress is and should be celebrated, but is this really progress?

---
L-E headline: "Ex-candidate trying again for MCSD board, aiming for District 2 seat" -- Good grief.. once again, the L-E is giving free advertising for a regurgitated candidate who is not a candidate until he qualifies in the Spring of 2018.. We are so fortunate to have John Thomas, and Frank Myers standing up for transparency for the citizens. On the other hand. Bart Steed takes work contracts from the MCSD.. and we have no idea whether the work was bid out.

---
L-E headline: "COLLEGE BASKETBALL * Adidas exec, 4 coaches are charged in bribery scheme
Looks like "taking something" is rearing its ugly head again...I wonder if they will take: 1 - a knee, 2 - more money, 3 - the 5th Amendment.

---
Once again it looks like all the high school football teams in Muscogee County missed the top 10 ranking in every qualification..  After learning that only 41% of MCSD seniors even took the SATs, and none of the high schools are good enough for stste football rankings, tell me again why the MCSD/MCSB is spending so much SPLOST money on sports facilities and electronic systems that are obsolete the day they are installed..

---
The last Kmart in Columbus will be gone in 6 days. It's ironic that K-mart, which blew into Columbus in the 60s and tore up the community's "blue laws" (keeping the Sabbath holy), is now dragging its tail between its legs as it slithers out of Columbus..

---
From the "I don't know which is worse" department - L-E headline/story: "Lawsuit seeks to declare Colorado River a person * This is the essential question in what attorneys are calling a first-of-its-kind federal lawsuit, in which a Denver lawyer and a far-left environmental group are asking a judge to recognize the Colorado River as a person." -- Good grief.. I don't which entity is the stupidest.. the suing party , or the L-E for printing such idiocy.

Talk about roaring hot air, I see  Hurricane Judy F Brouillette is back in the letters page of the L-E.

From the "I really thought I was through with the NFL crap yesterday department:":

Mainstream media is quick to defend NFL players' right to their opinion but condemn Trump's right to his opinion.

FROM the "INTERESTING QUESTION" DEPARTMENT: Would the National Anthem NFL protesters defend other NFL protesters who waved Confederate Flags to protest removal of Southern Memorial statues?

A Democrat spinmeister was on Fox last night chastising President Trump using the phrase "son of a b***h" as being totally unacceptable for a government official to use. I also remember NOT HEARING him or any other Democrat Spinmeister chastising Bide or Obama for their open Mic " big f****** deal and other comments.

You know, while I didn't plan more comments about the protesters in the NFL, a fact came out that should undermine the whole racial aspect as well as undermine the depth of the protest. It was announced that 1 - in - 8 player knelt ..hmmm 1 - in- 8 is less than 13%... hardly a majority of players...not even a majority of black players.

Let's see..libs confuse me...KaeperPRICK got on his knee and libs salivated over his right to disrespect the US flag yet KaeperPRICK had no right to disrespect his employers policies. Tim Tebow took a knee in personal prayer on a football field and libs excoriated his rights to religious expression. A Washington football coach took a knee at midfield following a high school football game and was vilified, and his firing has been upheld in the US Court of Apppeals sending libs into an unrighteous lather. On the other hand, Monica Lewinsky got on her knees in front of Slick Willie in the White House, and libs cared less. Anybody see a pattern here?

You know the NFL protesters aren't really covered by the 1st Amendment of the US nor individual state Constitutions. At best, the NFL protesters are engaged in a work place disagreement, and their employers do have the right to set conditions of employment and fire those who disregard their employment rules.

Let's end the NFL crap in a winner-take-all wire cage match between KaeperPRICK and Villanueva!

You know, if the pro-sports protesters are sincere in their claim they are seeking "social justice ", why aren't they aiming their efforts at obstructionist Democrat politicians?

Never has the "race card" been more pertinent than the NFL today... throwing it is the first move of the left when some one asks for facts.

In 1967, there were 13 black players on the Green Bay Packers football team.. 50 years later, there 36..where is the "social injustice"?

Now... let's move on!

Online headline: "North Korea accuses US of declaring war, says can take countermeasures" -- Hmmm.. looks like Kim Jong Ooooops has just declared turkey hunting season is open.

---

In 1948, North Korea adopted It's official name as Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea. Now with Kim Jong Oooops at the helm, the 21st Century demands a more fitting name..how about the Democrat Party Peoples in Korea..the acronym would be more cryptic..D-PRIK.

---

Mainstream media seems dead set at trying to get Judge Moore on the November ballot. Guess mainstream media doesn't feel the Democrat candidate would have a chance against Luther Strange in the November General Election. I do know, mainscream media has archives of negative stories to bombard Judge Moore on in the General Election...Me, I don't know...but the November election is the important one.

From the "California is not just another state.. it's in another world" department - Online headline/story: "Model’s gruesome murder: Victim’s trust fund boyfriend sits in jail after years of the high life * (Model Iana) Kasian died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head, was scalped, had portions of her face torn off and had the blood drained from her body, according to an autopsy released by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office. She had reportedly been tortured for eight hours before succumbing to her injuries. * The 36-year-old (Blake Leibel) aspiring screenwriter — who authored a strange graphic novel about a condemned serial killer — has been charged with one count each of murder, mayhem, aggravated mayhem and torture in the May 2016 death of 30-year-old Iana Kasian. He also faces special circumstance allegations of murder involving torture and mayhem, which make him eligible for the death penalty in California." -- "make him eligible for the death penalty"? Good grief! If the "special circumstances" only make him "eligible" for the death sentence, the Leibel's attorney is a doofus if he can't get the case thrown out altogether based on Leobel's Canadian citizenship and having California's "sanctuary city/state" status.

---

Online story: "When voters in Virginia head to the polls this November, they’ll be casting their ballots the old-fashioned way. * The state’s Board of Elections decided earlier this month to de-certify the widely used Direct-Recording Electronic (DRE) voting machines ahead of the gubernatorial election – prompting counties and cities to replace their touchscreen machines with those that produce a paper trail" -- You know.. I can can live with the "one eligible citizen, one vote" concept via paper or electronics.. but if paper ballots are used, then each voter should be required to have a set of his/her fingerprints on the ballot, and computer scanner be used to verify the fingerprints don't match another ballot's fingerprints nor any in the FBI felony database.

---

Online story: " Chelsea Manning was turned back at the Canadian-U.S. border because she was convicted of espionage for passing information to Wikileaks, the former U.S. intelligence analyst said on Monday. * She said she was stopped at the border and detained overnight before being handed a report stating she was inadmissible "on grounds of serious criminality," according to a picture of the report she posted online. * The offenses Manning was convicted of under the U.S. Espionage Act "would equate to an indictable offense, namely Treason" if committed in Canada, the report reads. * Manning said she was getting a Canadian lawyer and planned to challenge the finding of inadmissibility before a Canadian tribunal." -- Good grief.. does "she-it" believe that the our 9th District Court of Appeals has a mirror image in the Canadian Court System? Hey, Chelsea.. the Canadians are RIGHT.. it was TREASON!

---

Megan Kelly.. the left welcomed her as she vilified Bill O'Reilly and Fox, but since she landed ar NBC, the left would as soon she disappear.. Sorta reminds me of how the left celebrated John McCain during the Republican primaries in 2008, but then shunned him as soon as he won the nomination.. Now what is it that drives McCain to reseek liberal's approval that he now sells his soul to them again?

---
L-E story: "Lindsey Donalson, the 28-year-old accused of aiming a gun at two officers, pleaded not guilty to two counts of aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer. He was booked into the Muscogee County Jail under bonds totaling $40,000. * Montgomery said Donalson aimed the gun at them after they told him to drop his weapon. An officer then fired his 9 mm semi-automatic service pistol twice, striking the suspect in the leg, according to police. No one else was injured." -- Two things here... when witnesses are available, and the perp pleads not guilty, then why are criminals given taxpayer paid attorneys. and second, why was the perp wounded in the leg.. are our police in need of better weapon training or taught to endanger themselves and other people by going for a not fatal body area?

Monday, September 25, 2017

From the "all of a sudden, mainscream media is concerned" department - Online headline/story: "Kushner reportedly used a private email address to communicate with top White House officials * Among others, Kushner communicated with prominent current and former aides including previous chief of staff Reince Priebus, former chief strategist Steve Bannon, senior economic adviser Gary Cohn, and spokesman Josh Raffel. Sources told Politico that topics discussed primarily had to do with "media coverage, event planning and other business. * The revelations about Kushner's use of a private email account comes following a harsh presidential campaign during which Trump repeatedly lambasted Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton for using a private email server when she was Secretary of State." -- Good grief.. NOW mainscream media is interested in the use of a private e-mail address by a presidential adviser! Probably because mainscream media feels snubbed about not getting invited to "event planning".. Wish mainscream media had been concerned about what "event planning" Hellary was conjuring up about the events in Benghazi et al vis her private e-mail address and PERSONAL SERVER!

---

L-E headline/story: "Judith Tucker set to retire from mayor’s office * “If you had to say just one thing about Judy, it’s that you can trust Judy, and that’s so invaluable,” Tomlinson said Thursday in an interview." -- Judith Tucker...What a wonderful addition to Columbus' way of life she has been..but I cannot ignore Tom-LYING-son's unfulfilled prophecy about her value of trust... Tom-LYING-son... and Columbus.. just think about what Tom-LYING-son's "legacy".. and Columbus' present and future could be if she was concerned about taxpayers trusting her.

--

L-E story: "President Donald Trump on Saturday tweeted that he was withdrawing his offer to visit the White House after the Golden State Warriors’ star point guard, Steph Curry, said he was hesitant to visit the president." -- Heh-heh-heh... I guess now Curry can STAY home and not worry about having to "take his balls and go home" once he got there..

---

L-E commentary column..headline/content: "COMMENTARY * If we live in fear bad folks with guns win * BY CHUCK WILLIAMS * On Labor Day morning, I found myself on Ewart Avenue knocking on doors of the modest homes. * The reason I was walking along Ewart Avenue and Forsyth Street, which dead ends into the park, is 19-year-old Takelia Johnson had been killed the night before in a drive-by shooting. * There was a man sitting on a nearby porch. He was more than willing to talk to me about trucks, and the like. See, my 2000 GMC truck was a year older than the one he had. The color schemes were similar. We talked about transmission issues. It was the type of conversation you would expect two guys to have. * Then, I tried to change the conversation and talk about the shooting the night before. * It didn’t take long for the conversation to end. And it was clear to me that others in the neighborhood wanted to know who I was and why I was snooping around. One guy sort of followed me until I got into my truck and drove back toward Buena Vista Road. * They didn’t want any part of an outsider meddling into their business — or so it seemed. On this morning, their business was a killing. * If you think about, that is a large part of the problem in Columbus right now. People are killing each other for little to no reason. Many of the homicides are gang-related. Those doing the shooting and those who witness them are not talking. * And those who are dying certainly are not talking." -- This is the best.. and unfortunately, the only recent column by Chuck that qualifies as superior investigative reporting.. about everything else he's published in recent years has been laced with his personal opinion .. and only aimed at selling that aspect as doing his job.. This, Chuck.. this Columbus, is actual REPORTING.. and what could "Make the L-E Great Again". Hope this is a new beginning.. not just a fluke ..

---

L-E story: "The rise of Tesla and its rivals could be turboharged by complementary services from Uber Technologies and Alphabet Inc.’s Waymo unit, just as the iPhone rode the app economy and fast mobile internet to decimate mobile phone giants like Nokia.
* autonomous electric cars available on demand - could transform how people travel and confound predictions that battery-powered vehicles will have a limited impact on oil demand in the coming decades." -- You know.. how would you like to be someone who retired, moved to Puerto Rico.. and bought a 6-figure Tesla as your source of transportation... and now realize that after you travel the next 300 +/- miles, that you will have to park it for a year or more until electricity is restored following Hurricane Maria?

---

Soapbox Moment: The older national black leadership in this country has failed the future of young black citizens.. these leaders could be out teaching about what they, and their parents, experienced growing up is changing.. getting better.. but.. BUT that's not what they have done.. Those grizzled and stalwart icons could be teaching the next generation about changes that have come and are still coming, but it seems that they have learned that they can benefit ego and financial wise by spewing the vitriolic aspects of the past more so than they can by pointing to the path that will continue the change into the future. Nothing has become so obvious as the rising death tolls of young blacks on the streets of the cities, the confrontational rebuke of police authority, young preteen football players "taking a knee" as our National Anthem is played at youth sports..and the drive of black leadership seeking separatism and segregation.. again..

---

You know, as bad as I think the NFL players National Anthem protests are, the holier-than-thou defenders of the action are even bigger (_*_)s.

From the "what's the pot saying now" department - Online headline: "LeBron James explains his Trump tweet: 'He's now using sports as the platform to try and divide us' -- Good grief.. if not for professional sports and the freaky high salary ranges they
provide for otherwise unmeaningful people, the KaeperPRICKs and Jameses would not even have a platform to speak from..

One last mention of the NFL/NBA/MLB prima donas.. I'm glad it's our military in charge/control of our nation's security and sovereignty.. not these sports' crybabies.

No other comments will be made on the NFL.. the NFL "is dead to me".

---

IRONY...irony is an amazing bargaining chip for for selling-out one's convictions ...Fox fired O'Reilly, and now O'Reilly is advertising his new book on Fox...and Fox is appreciative.. Sorta makes Fox a bit..no..a lot hypocritical.

---

From the "now he should understand.. but won't" department - Online headline/story: "George Clooney slams Hillary Clinton's failed campaign: 'I never saw her elevate her game' * Hollywood superstar George Clooney, who was an avid supporter and major campaign donor for Hillary Clinton, had some stinging words for the former presidential candidate. * Clooney said while he thought Clinton was qualified for the job, the way she ran her campaign infuriated him * “It was frustrating because I never saw her elevate her game,” Clooney told the Daily Beast. “I never saw it.”" -- Heh-heh-heh... Hey George.. now that you're drinking Nespresso rather that Kool-Aid, you're learning about the real Hellary.. she LIED to you, too.. she actually NEVER HAD GAME... and you cannot elevate what doesn't exist.

---

I'm curious.. who does McCain feel is benefiting from OObamaCRAP.. even the Arizona Governor wants the new bill. The only questions to ask McCain are "Why aren't you signed up for OObamaCRAP?". and "When are you resigning for health reasons?"

---

Online headline: "Anthony Weiner, once a congressman, faces jail as a sex offender" -- While I care not to actually see any of them, can you not imagine the "sexting pics/videos" that will stream out of his prison via illegally held cellphones?

---

Online headline/story: "Masked gunman kills woman, wounds several others at Nashville church * Police had not determined the motive behind the shooting, but the spokesman said certain items were found that might establish why the man opened fire." -- Hmmm.. sounds a lot like a copy-cat of the Dylan Roof hate crime in South Carolina.. but of course, mainscream media says there is no way a black can be a racist...of course, you
will not find mention of the shooter's or victims' race in this story.

---
Uber-LIV's L-E "soundoff": "I heard Donnie is going to visit the U.S. Virgin Islands. They won’t be that way long, after the Grabber-In-Chief gets done with them." -- Good grief.. Hmm.. how quickly libs forget that Bill Clinton has been a guest of convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstien on his Pleasure Island in the US Virgin Islands, so even if Trump was the person liberals try to "paint". I doubt "Slick Willie" would have left any virgins there for President Trump..

---
There's an actual PAID ad in the L-E encouraging drivers to avoid Fortson Road between Smith/Woolridge and Almond. This drives home the reasons our streets are in such bad states.. rather than fixing problems when they are small, the City waits until the massive deterioration has become a major problem requiring drastic measures to fix.. This portion of Fortson Road really caters to Harris County residents more than Muscogee County taxpayers so it is an even bigger slap in the face of local drivers.. When is the City going to fix the roads Columbus people need.. starting with 17th Ave from Manchester Expressway to Warm Springs Road, Slade Drive from Warm Springs to Cherokee Ave, 54th Street from River Road to Veterans Parkway, and 2nd Ave from 38th St and south. Hope other Columbusites mention the streets they have to drive on as well.

From the "how to lather up the mainscream media without really saying anything" department - Online headline/story: "House intel Democrat on Russia probe: 'If you had seen what I have seen, you'd want me to go full throttle' * Democratic Rep. Mike Quigley, who sits on the House Intelligence Committee, said the public would want him to "go full throttle" if they saw what he's seen during the investigation into Russia's election interference. *The committee's probe "is closer to its infancy than conclusion," Quigley said during an event moderated by longtime federal prosecutor Renato Mariotti in Chicago on Thursday." -- You know.. this is what's wrong with the mainscream media's bias. If someone hints at a direction mainscream media wants to report, mainscream media runs with it whether or not a "quarterback" has actually handed them a real or fake "ball".

While the bride and I do not watch many "violent" movies (other than "Marvel Superhero movies", my bride was out of town "grandbaby ogling", and Hallmark was running a mvie I've seen all too often recently, I decided to turn to Netflix/Hulu Friday night. Hulu had "The Magnificent 7" on.. I've been a Denzel Washington fan since "Carbon Copy", and though we passed on it at the theaters as we don't do "make-overs", I decided to watch it.. I figured it would pretty much plagiarize the 1960 version I loved, so I was prepared to "bail out" early if it was a yawner. It wasn't.. and while it followed the premise of the original, it had enough originality to enjoy. So, if you didn't see it for any of the reasons I/we passed on it, it's on Hulu now, and a worth a peek.

---

Online headline: "New antibody may finally defeat HIV" -- Wow! While clinical studies on humans has not yet started (soon!), this is big! And to think, it'll show up in history timelines as coming to fruition under President Trump.. Hey.. who's not YOUR president now?

Can't the Republican Party have voting privileges of McCain be revoked on medical reasons?

Brain cancer?... Looks to me like McCain's just suffering from "Swamp drain cancer"!

---

From the "make the headline biased and bury the truth way down in the story" department - Online headline/story: "Couple arrested by ICE agents trying to get surgery for their infant son * Couple arrested by ICE agents trying to get surgery for their infant son * So they needed to make the trek to Corpus Christi, Texas, which would bring them past a border patrol checkpoint. * an ICE agent arrived... He told them officers could escort them to the hospital in Corpus Christi, but that they would immediately be arrested and face deportation. The couple agreed. * For two days the agents kept constant surveillance over the couple at the hospital. Both were then arrested and separately taken to be booked at the border patrol station. * Before leaving, the couple asked doctors to delay their son's procedure until both of them could get back to the hospital. They were permitted to return and the operation took place. * Advocate groups say the treatment by border patrol is usually reserved for criminals." -- Excuse me, but there are NO countries who don't treat undocumented entrants as CRIMINALS! What's missing here is that the child received surgery.. even though the parents were criminals and not paying for it.. Name me another country that would have done this.

Is it just me, or am I imagining a renewed assault from robocalls in spite of my long and continued registration in Do Not Call. I guess Do Not Call fell apart under Obama, too, like that other similar acronymed organization, the DNC did last election season.

---
L-E story: "Former FBI director James Comey was heckled and jeered throughout a speech at Howard University Friday by a group of protesters chanting “no justice, no peace” – a loud, contentious standoff that didn’t end until he finished his remarks. * The scene – a former official being shouted down and trying to speak over angry demonstrators – marked a bizarre public reappearance for the man fired by President Donald Trump in May. It was Comey’s first public speech since he testified before Congress in June about his firing, and few in the crowd of 1,000 could hear much of what he said." -- Hmm...First Pelosi was shouted down by Latinos at a Town Hall meeting IN San Francisco, and now, Comey ,,as in "Comey's Not My Homey" has been excoriated as well.. Looks like the Democrat voters have stopped drinking the Kool-Aid. This may spell "trouble" for Democrats in traditional taken-for-granted Democratic Party strongholds in 2018 and 2020.

 ---

L-E headline/story: "Former school board member to run for Frank Myers’ seat * Six months before the qualifying period starts and eight months before the nonpartisan Election Day, the first candidate for one of the five Muscogee County School Board seats up for election in 2018 has been announced. * Retired urologist Philip Schley, who served on the board for 21 years (1972-81 and 1998-2010), including as chairman for nine years, will try to regain his District 8 seat. * Schley told the Ledger-Enquirer in voicemail, “I have begun to despair of the harm that’s being done to public education by the inability of the school board to work in cohesion, and I’d like to try to correct that if I can.” -- Besides unwarranted newspaper space for a candidate who is not a candidate until he qualifies, this is an outright assault on the taxpayers to replace one of the 2 MCSB members that has raised the bar on transparency. What's even sadder is that the powers behind the school board cannot find any new candidates so they are regurgitating old ones like they did Cathy Williams. The school system does not need a candidate who was involved in creating the current mess returning as its "Messiah" on the nine-member board.

---

L-E "LATE LAUGHS": WHITE GIRAFFES were caught on video for the first time ever. Researchers knew they were white, cuz they were drinking pumpkin spice lattes. * Jimmy Fallon" -- "white" because they were drinking pumpkin spice lattes"? Well.. to be more specific.. more clarifying, maybe Fallon should have said "white liberals".. real Americans - black, white, Asian or Latino - do not drink pumpkin spice lattes.

---

L-E headline: "Here’s how Muscogee County high schools did on 2017 ACT" --

I am all for recognizing progress .. in any degree.. but let's not get ecstatic when results still show averages below "the average". Just pray that the incremental progress continues towards the top.

Friday, September 22, 2017

You know, North Korea's current nuclear/missile capabilities are squarely on the shoulders of Bill Clinton..Chinese money helped get Clinton elected, then Clinton sent previously top secret ICBM technology to China. China is North Korea's economic teat and collaborator.

I miss Peter Sellers...The sequel to "the Mouse that roared" would be perfect for Sellers...I can see Sellers portraying Kim Jong Oooops in "The Louse that Bored"

From the "now we know "What Happened" "department - Online story: "In her new memoir chronicling the 2016 presidential campaign, Hillary Clinton described how a Harvard law professor dissuaded her from attending his school, to which she had been accepted as a college senior, because "We don't need any more women at Harvard." -- I'm betting Harvard had better standards back then, and this was made up to create sympathy for her today, or... OR, Hellary interpreted the law professor. If it ever happened, he probably said "we don't need women like you... we need real women.

You know, I really think Hellary is lying again. Law professors don't determine whether you are or aren't going to accepted into Harvard.. or any law school.. Law schools have committees who review applications and the committee decides who to accept.

From "put a feather in Trump's MAGA hat" department - China's central bank has ordered all Chinese banks to stop doing business with North Korea. That. my liberal friends, is leadership, respect, and why America is on its way back to Greatness!

---

From the "how can we liberalize it to save face" department - L-E headline/story: "CAMPAIGN ETHICS * Ethics panel finds no probable cause on Myers, Thomas * After a 90-minute hearing Thursday in Atlanta, a state ethics commission chose not to pursue a complaint against Muscogee County School Board representatives Frank Myers and John Thomas for their efforts last year to defeat two board candidates in a runoff. * Though the ethics panel now called the Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission chose not to pursue the case, it also did not dismiss the complaint. The effect was to table the matter * Commission Chairwoman Mary Paige Adams made a motion to further investigate the complaint, but no one seconded her motion, so it failed. A motion to dismiss the case got a second, but failed as one commissioner voted for it and another voted against." -- You know, the L-E just cannot move on.. the ethics charges are moot.. but the L-E just doesn't want to let go... even more upsetting to the L-E is that the editorial board cannot even blame the outcome on a collusive effort connecting the ethics panel decision to Josh McKoon. Hey, L-E.. basically Myers and Thomas were declared POLITICALLY ETHICAL! Report the facts!

---

Uber-stupor-LIV's L-E "soundoff": "r The $425 million "given" to Iran was not “our” money, but theirs — interest on money held in foreign banks until Iran signed the nuclear deal. Obviously Fox left out that bit of inconvenient information." -- Good grief.. first, it was $1.7 BILLION.. CASH.. secondly, it was being held because of sanctions.. thirdly, if you had taken a gun away from a mugger, and the next day, the mugger promised to be a better person if you gave it back its gun.. wouldn't that make you stupid if you did?

---
L-E headline: "GEORGIA HOUSE * ‘Young, black Republican’ seeks House seat to be vacated by Pezold" -- Nice to see a Republican running to replace a RINO! But why does the L-E feel it needs to identify the candidate by his skin color.. If Gyening was white, the L-E headline WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN, "Young, white Republican’ seeks House seat to be vacated by Pezold"

---
L-E headline/story: "Columbus unemployment rate near highest in Georgia * • Macon — 5.4 percent • Columbus — 5.7 percent • Albany 5.8 percent" -- Hmmm .. what the L-E avoids saying is that Macon, Albany, and Columbus are all in Congressman Bishops District, and all three Mayors are DEMOCRATS!

L-E headline: "Cross Country Plaza may convert retail, restaurant space to storage" --
Just what a residential area needs... beautifully architectured storage garages... NOT!

A former NY Congresswoman was asked on Fox how a peace accord between Israel and Islamic would change the world..She said it would be dramatic as the middle-East has been a powder keg since before WWII. Huh? Good grief, the middle-East has been a powder keg for over a 1,000 years between the Jews & Christians and Islamism.

WTVM9 story: " Mayor Teresa Tomlinson has released a statement following the most recent homicides in Columbus. * There were three homicides in less than 12 hours to begin the week and Tomlinson says she is frustrated with the number of killings in the community." -- "Tomlinson says she is frustrated with the number of killings in the community"?  Good grief.. I think the community is a lot more frustrated with Tom-LYING-son than vice-versa.

From the "liberals just will not accept prosperity" department - Online story: "Georgia's business climate ranks third in the nation, according to a survey of U.S. corporate executives released Monday. * The "Winning Strategies in Economic Development Marketing" survey, conducted every three years by Development Counselors International (DCI), placed Georgia behind only Texas and Florida. For the first time since its inception in 1996, the report included findings on how the current political climate affects business perceptions. * A majority of executives surveyed, 57 percent, said the Trump presidency has not affected their investment plans. But only about one-third said they were more likely to explore domestic expansion in the current political climate." -- Aside from the point that GA was ranked 3rd despite Columbus, the writer just will not let go of trying to cover Obama's economic failures.. Between the lines, the writer pulls a Democrat Debbie Downer when he reverses facts that 43% of executives said the Trump presidency HAS affected their business plans, and a third of them said they were more likely to explore domestic expansion.. During the Obama years, executives were only looking for ways to move plants and jobs OUT of the country.

L-E story: "As founder of the Columbus Black History Museum, Johnnie Warner noticed a disturbing trend in the black community. * “... Prior to the end of the Civil Rights Movement, there were so many lynchings and killings of the black males by the whites,” he said. “And here we are now, we’re still living in fear — but because of us.”" -- "disturbing trend in the black community"?  To me, it's even more disturbing that people are trying to separate our community by black and others. The homicide rate affects the WHOLE community, and it will only get better when the WHOLE community is part of the solution.. The advocate's focus is only on black-on-black killings, but it's bigger than that.. it's drug issues; home invasion burglaries, it's disregard for policemen during difficult jobs issue. Yes, the sick-of-crime black community must merge in thought and effort with all of Columbus to get a handle on black-on-black violence..

To make a point, just this morning, I received a video of a police arrest here in Columbus, and the introduction declared it was "an innocent Black Man". I received it from a well respected man who I met during our childhood, and have known for the last 20+ years here in Columbus as an active community organizer. I asked if he had witnessed the event or knew what initiated it. He responded, "I will investigate.. just disturbing".. My point is that a video was sent without evidence that the police were acting irresponsibly to a crime or without a call from the store owner..  and you can't "undo" a viral video... We.. every sub-community.., have got to first act responsibly rather than react to what is going on.

I'm in shock... a GOOD shock... I learned that Bill Murray is 67 today... he looks so much older than I do... ;-)

---
L-E headline: "How are you supposed to dress and act in court?" -- Hmmmm... I just wish that sentencing practices were as well spelled out as dress codes and civility expectations... I'm tired of seeing recidivists being recharged for new crimes when their previous sentences should have had them incarcerated during the crime spree.

---
L-E headline/story: "Teens putting off traditional markers of adulthood * according to a new study showing that teenagers are increasingly delaying activities that had long been seen as rites of passage into adulthood. The study, published Tuesday in the journal Child Development, found that the percentage of adolescents in the U.S. who have a driver’s license, who have tried alcohol, who date, and who work for pay has plummeted since 1976, with the most precipitous decreases in the past decade." -- This just adds to the importance of what Trump did to promote the work ethics of a 11-year-old lawnmowing entrepreneur! I'd gladly put a teen walking my neighborhood with a lawnmower to work!

---
Online headline: "Hillary Clinton decided to go to Yale law school after a Harvard professor told her: 'We don't need any more women at Harvard'" -- Poor Hellary,, she still finds it difficult to admit that real women did not associate her with being one...

Wednesday, September 20, 2017

Hey, Trump said he was wire-tapped before the election.. now there's proof! Hey, mainscream media, how about a lot of apologies!

---
When Trump said he wanted "to drain the swamp", we supporters knew he meant regardless of political party. We supporters aren't upset that Trump reaches out to get Democrats as well to support the return of America to GREATNESS! It sure hasn't worked out well with Dems or Republicans trying to run the country by themselves.

---
When Trump said Venezuela's problem wasn't an issue of socialism being poorly implemented, but a case of socialism being FAITHFULLY implemented, he nailed it!

---
If you measured Trump's speech to the UN in "home runs", Trump would have easily defeated Aaron Judge in the MLB ALL-STAR Home Run Derby.

---
Online story: "House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi got an earful on Monday after protesters in San Francisco angrily confronted her for striking a tentative deal with President Trump over a program to extend legal protections to young undocumented immigrants. * A group of protesters shouted “you’re a liar” at the California Democrat. The pop-up protest lasted more than 30 minutes and ended with a visibly shaken Pelosi cutting her scheduled news conference short. * “You don’t know what you’re talking about,” Pelosi told the group. “It’s clear you don’t want any answers.” -- Hmmm.. actually, Nancy, they do know what they "are talking about", and your answers aren't what they want to hear. Ironically, Pelosi will have to hold future Town Hall meetings/forums in non-sanctuary cities to get audiences that won't ask her hard questions.

Interesting... there are 8 states with more accumulated debt that state assets.. Rhode Island, Maryland, California, Kentucky, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Illinois, and New Jersey..We should demand that any Congressional Representative/Senator from any of those states be banned from participating in any budget aspect of Congress..

---
Online story: "A new poll by conservative-leaning Rasmussen Reports has found that more than half, 61 percent, of the 1,000 likely voters surveyed say Hillary Clinton should retire. " -- Hmmm... according to "conservative-leaning Rasmussen Reports, since there are only about 30 or so percent of 'likely voters" who support Trump. then the bulk of the "yeses" to Hellary retiring must be from Democrats... now the real question so-called conservative-leaning Rasmussen Reports should have asked is how many feel Hellary should be jailed.

L-E story: "Columbus Regional Health is moving forward with a major expansion of the John B. Amos Cancer Center. * The Columbus hospital and health care system is preparing to break ground on a 46,411-square-foot project which will nearly double the size of the existing 49,620-square-foot cancer center that opened in late 2004. The new facilities should be completed by late 2018. * The construction pricetag alone for the addition to the John B. Amos Cancer Center at 1831 5th Ave. is nearly $15.8 million," -- Hmmm... 46,411 square feet of real construction for $15.8 Million.. that's about $340.00 a square foot.. whew.. good the MCSD isn't building it.. the MCSD thinks a metal building on slab construction should cost $312.00 a square foot.

L-E headline: "Ethics hearing set for two members of school board" -- Witch hunt!  This is all a witch hunt...

---
L-E story: "The Muscogee County School Board during Monday night’s meeting approved superintendent David Lewis’ recommendation to borrow as much as $50 million in response to the Columbus Consolidated Government’s delayed property tax billing. * The vote was 6-1. Laurie McRae of District 5 cast the nine-member board’s lone opposing vote; Frank Myers of District 8 was absent. * " -- I agree with Laurie McRae.. it does look like a bit of "over borrowing".. perhaps a "line of credit" would be a better option so money could be drawn on an as needed basis.

---
In a "letter to the editor" in the L-E, a Cataula man suggests a test as to whether a flag should be flown:

"Here’s a simple test that might result in a clearer vision:

Take a sheet of paper, and draw a line down the middle. Label one side Caucasian, the other side African-American. Every time you see the Battle Flag displayed in some way, notice who is displaying it and put a mark in the appropriate column. I haven’t done this myself; it seems pretty obvious to me what the results would be.

The writer Aldous Huxley said, “Facts do not cease to exist just because they are ignored.”

You know, using the same flag test on "New Black Panthers, Black Lives Matter, the Rainbow, the Mexican, ISIS,  Puerto Rican, Irish or other countries' flags would give the same bias results.. Either ban all but the US and States' flags or leave'm all alone.

Hey, Hellary.. here's "What Happened?" - You beat Obama's 2008 vote totals in only 10 states, and you got more votes than Trump in only 20 states. Do the math... even "new math won't change the totals.

Hey Hellary... here's "What Happened?" - You got 65,000,000 votes ..but.. BUT 25% of your votes came from 3 states - CA, NY, and Il -- which accounted for 104 of your 231 Electoral College votes.. and those 3 states accounted for 45% of your total Electoral College votes. The reason you lost is... (drum roll please).. America rejected YOU!  More of America wanted TRUMP!

---
Hurricane Maria? What happened to Hurricane "L".. Wait a minute.. Hurricane "L" was Hurricane Lee! Guess mainscream media was more interested in destroying General Lee than interested in what Hurricane Lee could destroy.

---
Can you believe it.. well, it is California... California just passed laws making it a "sanctuary state".. in my book, this makes California a secessionist state, and no longer should entitled to federal support of any kind.. To be honest, except for losing West Coast ports, the US would be federal revenue positive in eliminating California altogether.. and if we build the Southern Border "wall" and extend it up the eastern border of California.....hmmm.. this is an idea that we should really run with!

From the "Trump WAS/IS right" department - Online story: "21-year-old Yahyah Farroukh, who was arrested in Hounslow on Saturday night, was responsible for planning the bombing that would have killed untold numbers of commuters at rush hour on Friday if the IED had properly detonated. Farroukh was a Syrian refugee who arrived in the UK from Damascus. * The man who planted the bomb, an 18-year-old who is yet to be named, is an Iraqi refugee who arrived in the UK three years ago as an “unaccompanied” child migrant. He traveled across Europe in an attempt to reach the infamous Calais migrant camp. * This is not the first time “refugees” have gone on to plot or carry out acts of terror." -- Hmmm.. Hey Democrats.. hey US  District Court 9, hey US Supreme Court.. I'm filing this as my American citizens' "Amicus Curiae (friend of the court) " brief.

---
The Emmy's were a bust Sunday night.. I'm not even talking about the viewers numbers either.. the fact that "This Is Us"  did not win "Best Series" shows how little Hollywood knows about the American TV audience.

---
L-E headline: "BLACK-ON-BLACK CRIME * Funeral directors denounce killings in black community" -- While I'm glad to see/hear activism roar on this problem, it still reflects on why the problem exists.. this is  not an exclusive  black, or black community problem/issue.. it's a Columbus issue.. our entire community is affected by the aura of drugs and death. The black community needs to merge, not segregate, this or any other Columbus issue.

Stupor-Uber LIV's L-E "soundoff": "FYI, Obama did not give Iran $425 million; it was their money, being held in our banks because of sanctions imposed on them for their nuclear program." -- First.. it was not $425 Million... Obama gave Iran $1.7 BILLION in cash and the a sanctioned nuclear path!

L-E headline: "Trump, in U.N. debut, urges world body to reform" -- Once again.. Trump "nails it".

What a refreshing.. wonderful weekend.. a new grandchild, a loving granddaughter, a UGA win, and ... and a dominating win by Mississippi State, and heading for Athens this coming weekend for a "dog fight".

                                                           Now: Sophia meets Win.
---
From the "dinosaur spotting" department -- Hmmm they still exist.. at least at Northside Hospital Women's Center in Atlanta:

---
Whatta weekend...Mississippi State demolished LSU, and that wasn't the most fun part of our weekend..introducing Winfield Mobley Wildes...born Friday..7 pds 3 ozs 20 3/4" ..Talk about opening the weekend with a big "WIN"!

---
From the "mainscream media wants to create, not report, the Trump story" department - Online headline/story: "As Trump visits U.N., New York prepares for 'Super Bowl' of security * a week of speeches by U.S. President Donald Trump and a parade of other dignitaries. * will bring street closures, thousands of police officers and hundreds of protesters to midtown Manhattan, an area already plagued with gridlock on an average weekday. * Trump will be on hand on Monday and Tuesday *  event also comes just days after a homemade bomb on a packed commuter train in London * A handful of anti-Trump protests in New York have been scheduled *  A march on Monday to combat "white supremacy" will start from Grand Central Terminal, while the left-wing activist group Code Pink has organized a Tuesday march to the U.N. to protest Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. * Other protesters will gather outside the U.N. to call out specific countries * NYPD's elite counterterrorism unit, along with detectives from the intelligence bureau and officers from the aviation, harbor, highway and traffic units, will be on hand throughout the week.  * The U.S. Secret Service, the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security and various other federal agencies are also involved in providing security * The U.S. Secret Service, the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security and various other federal agencies are also involved in providing security" -- Good grief.. mainscream media is more interested in getting security issues, and protest menus published rather than wait until the events happen then report them... Oh, President Trump will remind the world that AMERICA is BACK!

---
Hellary.. here's "What Happened".. in 2008, Obama won 28 states.. in 2016, you won 20 states, and you won New Hampshire on the basis that over 5,000 out-of-state identification same date registrants have never become NH residents and that state should be give to Trump, too.

Hellary... here's "What Happened".. in 2008, not only did PA, WI, and MI vote for Obama, but also FL,IN, IA, NC, and OH. In 2016, all 8 of these states voted fro TRUMP!

---
You know, America got to see..feel the difference between Obama-Biden, and Trump-Pence...Trump and Pence went to Houston, the 9-11 Memorials, and Florida to show leadership and be of help..versus Obama & Biden showing up for photo-ops on their way to celebrity political fund raising events

---
What is it antifas fear from conservative speakers.....that one may say something that bursts the bubble on what they thought they were scared of?

---
While at a restaurant in an Atlanta hospital this past weekend, I noticed one of those mandatory-to-post signs..This one was from the  "Justice Department". It read, " You have a RIGHT to work!"...What BS! You have a RIGHT to apply, and IF the employer hires you, you have an obligation to work, and if you make yourself valuable, you probably will advance within the organization. What bothers me most is that this is an example of the deterioration of the DOJ that happened during the Obama years.

---
After the latest Islamic jihadist attack on a British subway, Trump said the incoming travel restrictions should be tougher, but "that wouldn't be politically correct". Thank heaven we have a president who's not "PC", or we wouldn't have ANY incoming travel restrictions!

---
Kudos to President Trump for encouraging an 11 year old entrepreneur by letting him ply his energy mowing grass at the White House. I remember a time I would go door-to-door plying the skill I learned doing this same chore at my home and making money mowing our neighbors homes. Naturally, a NYT commentary condemned this act as a child labor violation.. It's wonderful to have a president who supports the work ethic in our future leaders..

---

In matter minutes during the LSU-Mississippi State game, 2 LSU (_*_)s were ejected for targeting our QB. The (_*_)s intentionally hit our QB's face mask with their helmets. Neither time did the (_*_)s even try to divert their paths.. both times our QB had already released the passes. You know, LSU coaches don't allow this in practice against their own players, so you know, whether in writing or not, the LSU staff must have a reward system for taking out opposing QBs.

---
You know, I'd be satisfied with a picket fence on our Southern border if...if anyone trying to come in illegally was considered an enemy, and our sniper-trained border patrol was ordered to stop the enemy at all costs.

---
6...count'em.. 6 SEC teams in the Top 25.. no other conference makes it tougher on its own members to break into, much less climb in the rankings.

---
We spent 2 nights in an Atlanta hotel we often frequent this weekend.. We were charged $115.27  for 2 nights.. sounds pretty awesome doesn't this.. now the rest of the story.. that figure was the total of 2 nights' charges for parking, state/county fees/ and taxes... ONLY! They also totaled over 26% of our bill (and we do not eat there). We knew (but that doesn't mean we like it) what the fees/taxes were, but what about evacuees who were suddenly thrust into an unplanned evacuation situation with their families.. GA could do so much  better by "foregoing" such fees under the circumstances.

---
Online headline: "Hillary Clinton rejects the idea that an impromptu June 2016 meeting between her husband, former President Bill Clinton, and then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch critically damaged her White House bid." -- Hmmm... looks like Hellary has identified the two people she doesn't blame for her loss...she's wrong about this, too!

---
L-E headline/story: "Millennials got a head start on retirement saving *
Whatever you believe about their financial habits, some millennials at least are sitting on six-figure retirement accounts. In a Fidelity Investments analysis of 59,000 millennials – those born between 1981 and 1997 – who have participated in their company’s 401(k) plan for 10 years, the average balance was $109,400 at the end of June 2017. * The common thread – and secret to a fat 401(k) – is consistency." -- You know, if I live another 10 years, I will still not collect Social Security of this amount.. what 401K's have identified is the horrible management we have gotten from Congress/Government in growing our Social Security deposits when we were younger.

---
One of our law enforcement leaders asked the question on Facebook. "What do you see as our strengths that we can improve on to make us stringer?" You know, until we are all unified. our community will not be strong. Until we are unified in direction, until we.. I mean everyone.. is on the same page for what we want Columbus to be in the future, Council will continue to tread water because leadership in our Mayor/Council is weak, and none have dared to step forward to offer us any.

---
Leftist-Enquires guest commentary headline/content: "An Al Sharpton for white people * BY JAY BOOKMAN Atlanta Journal-Constitution *  White House press secretary Sarah Sanders stood at the podium at the White House briefing room, with the White House logo behind her, and pressed for the firing of an ESPN host who had dared to criticize President Trump on Twitter." -- Good grief.. you know, it's not about anything but mainscream media supporting segregation and being upset that most whites have no problem with being in the melting pot that makes America Great.. Unfortunately there are more white separatist supporting  black separatism than there are actual White Separatist.

---
L-E story: "A South Korean company that uses a high-tech processing system to dispose of garbage and other wastes created by humans and farm animals — while also generating electricity to power homes and businesses — plans to build and operate a facility in Russell County." -- Hmmm ... could it simply be PER Kentec prefers to work Mayor Lowe versus Mayor Tom-LYING-son and her new tax tyrants?

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Everyone beats up on Clinton, but he was the only president to leave office with the budget in the black. Show me a Republican who has done that." -- Hmmm so Clinton had a "black" budget.. only because Newt Gingrich and the Republicans wrote and administered the budget.

---'
From the "getting to know the real POOP Francis" department - Online headline.story: "Pope Francis: World Government Must Rule U.S. ‘For Their Own Good’ * Pope Francis told the Italian newspaper La Repubblica that the United States of America has “a distorted vision of the world” and Americans must be ruled by a world government, as soon as possible, “for their own good.”" -- Good grief.. now you see how much damage Obama caused our country and our future.. if establishment RINOs, Democrats, and POOP Francis are against Trump, America is becoming GREAT AGAIN!

---
Hall County, GA "The Times" headline: "Latinos root for Trump reversal on DACA" -- You know.. this should exclude all illegal aliens in Hall County from becoming citizens of the US.. obviously they have no knowledge nor want to support our Constitution now or later.

---
Leftist_Enquirer's headline: "MUSCOGEE SUPERIOR COURT * ‘Stocking Strangler’ Carlton Gary’s appeals running out" -- Good grief.. after 31 years of avoiding the death sentence, I wish the L-E would simply stop covering this (_*_) until the L-E runs the headline, "Stocking Strangler’ Carlton Gary’s  life runs out!"

---
I'm beginning to believe that Ron White was suffering from "political correctness" when he put together "You can't fix stupid".. If he had penned it while Trump was president, he wouldn't have had to pull his punchs.. he's have named it, "You can't fix liberals"...

---
L-E story: "other benefits of getting the 13th Street Bridge and keeping the 14th Street Bridge nearby. “I think the best thing that came out of that new bridge was we were able to keep the old bridge next to it and convert it into a pedestrian bridge which we have is a fantastic thing,” he said. “It’s a good thing for both Columbus and Phenix City to have that pedestrian bridge.” * And there are no screens anywhere on that bridge." --" No screens"? Then it's "bombs away" at Whitewater rafters!

---
From the same L-E story: "A growing question about the odd screen fencing on the east side of the 13th Street Bridge and none on the west side finally has been answered." -- Hmmm.. You know.. when a bridge runs East-to-West, it's sides are North and South.. perhaps the writer meant the East and West ENDS of the bridge...

---

L-E headline: "MUSCOGEE COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD * Alternative Education Committee not in support of outside provider in MCSD" -- Nor should it..  education issues are local issues, and our community needs to solve them. Bringing in outsiders does not help us in the future.. same goes for bringing in outside Superintendents.. our MCSB should immediately implement leadership training for middle-to-upper administrative staff to develop a chain of command.
