Nearly a week has passed and the L-E has not updated its scholarship fraud story on Sanford Bishop. The Albany Herald mentioned 4 more scholarships given to an aide and 3 of his wife's employee's children. Bishop's act was not a one-time error in judgement, it has been an arrogant series of 'I'm-a-Congressman-and-your-rules-don't-apply-to-me'.

The "Honor Flight" is one of the best, maybe even the very best, program to honor the sacrifices and memories of our veterans, but unless there was an unforgivable error made in one person's information, how can a 78 year old be included on such a flight? Being 78 means she was born in either 1931 or 1932, and she would have been only 14 or 13 when WWII ended.

This kills me. On Phenix City's Council's Agenda is one from the "Police Department" : "Resolution in reference to declaring a 1984 Pontiac four-door vehicle surplus to be sold to the highest bidder at a public auction." -- Selling a 1984 Pontiac as surplus 'to the highest bidder at public auction'. Excuse me, but cashing it in during the "Cash for Clunkers" program would have fetched a lot more than the 'high bid at a public auction'.
