The Breakfast Club - September 4, 2010

Can't improve this:
Word of warning for the men: Do not take your bride to "Going the distance" thinking you will 'earn points' for suggesting a 'chick flick'. It was a 2 hour torture that may be a better form of torture than 'waterboarding' for extracting terrorist info. In 2 words: trashy and raunchy!
---
Online headline: "Scientists say that the rate at which plants and animals are disappearing could drastically alter life in the future." -- That's assuming, of course, that there will be a future after potUS Imam-a gets through with his plan.
---
From above story: "(Sept. 3) --The rate at which animals and plants are going extinct could drastically alter life in the Earth's seas, according to a new study. * Mass extinctions throughout history have altered the structure of life in the seas, with dominant creatures being toppled and others rushing in to take their place, creating a whole new ecosystem." -- We must have too many scientists in the world if there are enough that have time to dream this contradictory stuff up. Between the ecology sector and Steven Hawkin, God does not exist; what will it take to change their perspective that they are small?
---
Chris Mathews is clamoring for potUS Imam-a to 'get rid' of the TelePrompTers. That's sort of like asking 'The Wizard of Oz' to come out from behind his curtain.
---
L-E headline/story: "Columbus man killed in dispute at Johnston Mill Lofts * Brian Alexander Brown, 33, was pronounced dead at 11:39 a.m. at The Medical Center, Muscogee County deputy coroner Freeman Worley said. * Brown died after being shot in the head during an altercation at Johnston Mill Lofts, an apartment building on First Avenue, Columbus police Sgt. Harvey Hatcher said. * Brown’s body will be sent to the crime lab in Atlanta for an autopsy" -- My guess is that the autopsy will disclose 'death by shot in head'...doh!
---
Go, Carver!
---
L-E story: "VANCE — Mercedes-Benz has hired the agency North American On-Site LLC to handle the hiring of more than 400 temporary production employees for its automotive assembly plant in Vance. * The Tuscaloosa News reports that Mercedes says the workers are needed to help the automaker handle a peak in vehicle demand.-- Hmmm, no wonder I feel my wife's car was put together by interns on a Monday morning.
---
GA Power has gone back to the 'PSC trough' ! PSC has already given GA Power one increase to cover construction costs for a new nuclear plant, and now is looking for another one for the same reason. This, in spite of a recent request for an 8.2% rate increase for service costs. If you see a PSC election with an incumbent running, and his/her opponent is nit a DIM/DUMBorat, vote the PSC person out.
---
Economy test? When have you ever filled your gas tank on a Labor Day weekend at prices lower than a month ago?
---
It's not just a game of semantics. The latest unemployment figures demonstrate finitely that the Republicans are indeed "the Party of Know".
---
When potUS Imam-a says he believes the country is moving in the right direction, he honestly believes it. Of course, it's not the right direction for recovery, but that is not his plan.
---
L-E headline: "Clinton says time is now for peace in the Middle East " -- Hmmm, wouldn't you like it if she had mention that November 2 will be the time for change in America?
---
L-E headline/story: "Jobs report better than forecast * WASHINGTON — The unemployment rate went up slightly to 9.6 percent in August as employers shed 54,000 jobs during the month, the Labor Department said Friday in a jobs report that nonetheless provided a surprise in better-than-expected private-sector and temporary hiring. * Much of the net job loss was the result of census workers exiting payrolls, as their work was complete. The narrower number for private-sector hiring showed that 67,000 jobs were added in companies and corporations, down from July’s 107,000 but above what mainstream forecasters had expected." -- If not for the McClatcy byline, I would have thought this was a Robert Gibbs 'spin'. When you reach the bottom of the barrel, does it matter whether you are on the bottom or top of the bottom of the barrel?
---
L-E story: "ATHENS, Ga. — The Georgia football program finished the 2010 off season with nine players being arrested, including one on the final day. " -- It all starts with recruiting.
