Online headline/story: "US to Tell US Citizens to Be Vigilant in Europe * updated guidance prompted by al-Qaida threats * Officials have been concerned that terrorists may be plotting attacks in Europe with assault weapons on public places, similar to the deadly 2008 shooting spree in Mumbai, India * Sweden announced it has raised its threat alert to the highest level ever because of an increased threat of terror attacks * In Britain, the security level stood at "severe" - the second highest in a five-step scale" -- Sweden is worried...Sweden... how sick are these people? I'm not talking about al Qaida, everyone knows how sick al Qaida is, but when people think being tolerant or embracing of the growth of a jihadist movement will exempt them from acts of terrorism, that's sicker! The 'Ground Zero" Hamas-que comes to mind in our country.

Last Tuesday's Council meeting must have the Chamber of Commerce gurus, Mike Gaymon & Co, pulling their hair out. How can they go to other companies, and 'sell' Columbus when some of our Council doesn't understand the difference between right & wrong and racism! What do other communities think when one of our Councilors describes employee disciplinary action for lying as a "public lynching", and GNN announces it to the world!

Online headline: "Will Gibbs Be Next to Leave White House?" -- I bet he'll be last one to leave; after about two years of showing how inept he is, who would hire him?
---
You know, there was a tribute to Bobby Cox aired yesterday at 3:30 PM. Since it was a football and Ryder Cup Saturday, do you think anyone actually watched it? That's a shame, but it points out how out-of-tune TV is with reality...now that's a "reality show" worth producing!

Yesterday, as I passed a 1st Avenue intersection while a fund-raising run was being conducted, there was a safety monitor, bedecked in her orange vest, puffing away on a cigarette. There's an oxymoron somewhere in this...
---
L-E headline: "Officials: Schools run normally in wake of incidents on school bus * Schools, administrators take several steps to keep students safe" -- Hmmm.. could it be that the garish color of the buses makes them easy targets? How about a 'camo' paint job?
---
L-E headline/story: "Georgia voter registration deadline is Monday * Those registering for the first time should bring a government-issued photo ID * No identification is necessary for anyone already registered who just needs to make a change in their name or address on record" -- Read the last sentence carefully...very carefully. As I see it, it makes vote fraud easy. Anyone could go into the Board of Elections office and make a change of address of someone who has moved out of town (or died) and then call in for an absentee ballot to be mailed to the new address. Identification should be required for any and all voter transactions!
---
L-E headline: " MARTA price increases to go into effect " -- Hmmm, guess all those empty seats will demonstrate how much potential revenue could be derived if people actually filled the seats.
---
L-E headline: "ELECTION 2010 * Tea party could run out of steam * Novelty may wear off by election day * By DAVID LIGHTMAN * McClatchy Newspapers" -- Hmmm.. Is this just wishful thinking or denial by McClatchy in general, or is the L-E editorial staff just avoiding putting its opinion/"HOPE" out for public perusal?
---
Looking at the graph in the above article, one thing stands out loud and clear: None of the DIM/DUMBorat incumbents have the confidence of the majority of their state's voters, and at this point, are not likely to get 50+%.
---
L-E story: "Electronic Arts, a major game developer based in Redwood City, Calif., said it has dropped the Taliban label from a version of its “Medal of Honor” video game after families of troops complained it was offensive. " -- Now, if we could just get EA to drop some of the violence and sex from other games that they sell to teens.
---
L-E headline: " U.S. SUPREME COURT STARTS NEW TERM MONDAY * Kagan won’t help court decide many cases * Justice recuses herself in 21 cases because of work as ex-solicitor general" -- You know, I'm not worried what her vote would have been in those cases, as she should already know the facts, and guilt of such cases since she had to file the charges, but these cases would not be the "acid test' of what her overall point of view will be as a liberal.
