Online headline: "Obama Will 'Evaluate' Bill Limiting Online Ammunition Sales" -- King Arpege has lost it for sure. What's next; will he try to change our Independence Day for July 4th to July 14th to correspond with the French Bastille Day?

---

Online headline: "Chick-Fil-A's Brand Approval Rating Plummets After Anti-Gay Controversy: REPORT" -- Yeah, among the staff at GLAAD (Gay Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation). Their point? Reminder: Eat at least once at Chick-fil-A tomorrow, August 1, 2012.

From the 'it's not one world' department - Online story: "BAMAKO, Mali -- A spokesman for the radical Islamic group controlling northern Mali says a couple who had an adulterous relationship was stoned to death this weekend in the town of Aguelhok. * Sanda Abou Mohamed, a spokesman for the group Ansar Dine, told The Associated Press by telephone on Sunday that the couple was executed according to Shariah law. * A resident of the northern city of Kidal, who had spoken to witnesses in nearby Aguelhok, said the man and woman were buried up to their necks, then pelted with stones until they died earlier Sunday" -- Guess Ansar Dine either didn't want to waste bullets...or just get an extra rush out of stoning.

---

Online story: "JERUSALEM -- Mitt Romney told Jewish donors Monday that their culture is part of what has allowed them to be more economically successful than the Palestinians, outraging Palestinian leaders who suggested his comments were racist and out of touch with the realities of the Middle East. Romney's campaign later said his remarks were mischaracterized." -- Sure is refreshing to have a politician who trumps political correctness by telling the truth!

What's with the USA men's swim team? Their suits look like they are "saggin".

Latest from barackobama.com: "If we don't win this election, it will be because we didn't close the spending gap when we could. * Because right now we're seeing that voters have a choice between two very different men. Thanks, Joe" -- Yep, two different men, one of which offers 'real hope and real change', and one who hired you as his VEEP.

Regardless of what anyone says, if you give politicians a 1% tax for 10 years, they are not going to give it up easily when the sunset date arrives. The only important enough project on the list for considering a 'yes vote' is the military park near the I-185 exit at Ft Benning, BUT we can hound Council to earmark dollars out of the infrastructure portion of the latest LOST to float a bond to get that done quickly. To boot, almost 1/3 of that will be paid for by out-of-county/state consumers.

Online story: "The spot where Joe Paterno’s bronze likeness once stood is now occupied by freshly planted trees." -- No need to punish the dogs by not replacing favorite station with a suitable substitute.
---
I have heard, though haven't checked it personally, potUS Arpege had not had a Cabinet meeting this year to- date. That's not leadership, that's not even a clerical error ; that's basically just an indifference to welfare of our country and it's future.

I do not care WHY the evil monster did what he did in Aurora, CO, BUT I do care as to WHY THE SORRY SOB is still breathing.

I am proud our forefathers guaranteed our right to a fair trial, BUT we only need a 'fair trial' when there are two sides/opinions to a situation. Sorry, but the intentional act of mass violence does not meet that qualification.
---
Liberal's L-E "soundoff": "Muscogee County School District will get test scores up whenever we stop making excuses for underachieving children and hold their parents accountable. " -- Don't hold you breath on the MCSD allowing that! Allowing that? Yes, the MCSD has too many programs that take over the role of the students' parents. Busing students to and from school and day care and home, feeding students free breakfast and lunch (basically year round) and after-school snacks/meal, and furnishing some students backpacks of school supplies.
---
L-E's "Thought for Today, “Only government can take perfectly good paper, cover it with perfectly good ink and make the combination worthless.” — Milton Friedman (born this date 1912, died 2006). -- Hmmm, wonder when the government bought the L-E?
---
L-E headline: "Democratic platform may back gay marriage" -- May?The DIM&DUMBERats already support about every kind of perversion it can under the 1st Amendment, whether it be partial birth abortions or our libraries allowing 'patrons' to publicly access pornography online, so why would anyone think otherwise? Of course, now would be a good time for voters to decide which side of perversion do they support.

New stadium? The Olympic softball games were held in hysterically revamped Golden Park, and the results have hindered baseball and outdoor concerts ever since. More money was spent on a band-aid fix of Golden Park than it would have cost to build a new and better suited complex at a new location. The new softball stadium at South Commons was not built until after the 1996 Olympics.
---
I knew, I liked, Willy Bowman.. knew him for years as I was an avid baseball fan up until the hysterical remodeling of Golden Park. Had season tickets in the box seats abutting the home dugout. Bought many bags of peanuts from Willy, and shared many a light moment with him. He was definitely a welcome sight as I entered the stadium, but a spot in the CV Sports Hall of Fame... NOT! Lieutenant at Dinglewood would get my vote for the first food vendor to be considered for the CV Sports Hall of Fame. He served me many of pre-game meals that I would bet was the reason I played pretty good over my years at Columbus High. Lets wait a year or two and digest the info before reacting to it emotionally, then make an evaluation. Also knew Glenn Davis when he was a mere pup of a baseball player. Glenn definitely earned his spot!

Alabama has passed a law allowing for bigger bottles of beer to be sold, and stores are buying new coolers to accommodate such. My question is that since driving with an open container, and driving while under the influence of alcohol are pretty much laws in every state, then why are liquor/convenience stores allowed to sell cold beer, especially singles to anyone, but especially at drive-thru windows?
---
L-E headline: "OLYMPIC WOMEN’S GYMNASTICS * ‘An injustice’ * Coach objects to world champ Wieber’s exclusion from all-round finals" -- Way to go Coach... make the two who earned spots in the overall competition feel guilty, miserable, inadquate because they did better than another teammate. What about the other girls who didn't qualify for the overall championship? How does it feel for them not to be even in the discussion of "what's fair"? Turn in your whistle!
---
L-E story: "WASHINGTON — The U.S. Postal Service is bracing for a first-ever default on billions in payments due to the Treasury, adding to widening uncertainty about the mail agency’s solvency as first-class letters plummet and Congress deadlocks on ways to stem the red ink. * With cash running perilously low, two legally required payments for future postal retirees’ health benefits — $5.5 billion due Wednesday, and another $5.6 billion due in September — will be left unpaid, the mail agency said Monday. Postal officials said they also are studying whether they may need to delay other obligations. In the coming months, a $1.5 billion payment is due to the Labor Department for workers compensation, which for now it expects to make, as well as millions in interest payments to the Treasury. " -- The USPS has one trick left up its sleeve. Tell Congress the checks are in the mail; don't tell'em that they won't ever get delivered.

Online headline: "USA Overtaken Late As France Wins Gold In 4x100-Meter Relay" -- Well, potUS Arpege keeps saying he feels we should follow the French lead, and it looks like he's getting his wish. Of course, he's probably followed the French lead in WWII and we'd all be speaking German now.

---

Online headline: "Bill Clinton Will Reportedly Play Major Role At Democratic National Convention" -- Interesting...very interesting since Hillary announced months ago she was 'going to be busy' and would not attend the DIM&DUMBERat Convention. Also, potUS Arpege will not know what XpotUS Bill will say as he won't have his speech loaded in a TelePromper.

---

Bill Clinton AND potUS Arpege giving speeches at the same convention... guess the delegates may as well book an extra night hotel room, because there's no way the convention will end on time.

---

Online headline: "Colorado Theater Lacked Security On Night Of Shooting Massacre" -- This must be a smear campaign from some union based security company. The day I get screen at a movie theater is the day I see my last movie at one.

---

Online headline: "Gray's Store, 224-Year-Old Rhode Island General Store, Closes Its Doors Today" -- Hmmm, my guess would be that the owner was waiting for the Supreme Court to overturn HELL-thSCARE, but when it didn't, the owner felt he couldn't afford anymore taxes.

---

The sheer number of support ads for the T-SPLOST should be a wake up call that a few people want this a little too much for it to be good for most of us.

Small businesses aren't successful because other people help them along the way; small businesses are successful BECAUSE they help OTHER PEOPLE along the way.

Latest from barackobama.com: "Hal -- Americans have been making quite the impression in London over the past few days -- from the Olympians making us proud to Mitt Romney, who badly stumbled out of the block. -- " from the Olympians making us proud to Mitt Romney, who badly stumbled out of the block"? Getting beat by the French makes him 'proud'? Compared to himself, he feels Romney has "badly stumbled out of the block"? Who is this masked man?

---

Online story: "LONDON — A mysterious woman in red has caused an international incident at the London Olympics. * Indian officials are mystified – and miffed – after an unknown young woman managed to march with the country's athletes and officials during the opening ceremony Friday night.

-- Hmmm, could it be... no, it couldn't possibly be that Mitt Romney was right in his discernment over not enough security being a potential problem...

---

Online headline: "(Defending Wolrd Champion gymnast) Jordyn Wieber will miss the All-Around Final in women's gymnastics at the London 2012 Olympics. -- probably political sabotage. Remember when the scores were shown and the individual judges were identified by their countries? That's not the case anymore.

---

L-E story: "After-school programs are important, she (Anne Thibault of CSU, the program director) added, because statistics show much of juvenile crime happens between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. * She said children get bored and often have no way to express themselves except in a negative or illegal fashion. " -- What it is is another taxpayer (and remember, 47% don't pay any fed income tax) subsidized extended daycare program, and when the GA Department of Education grant money runs out, it will be piled back on local backs to keep it going. Pretty soon, the education system will be doing all the parental jobs responsible people are expected to do, such as get their children to school, feed them, and spend time with them. As it is headed, all the education system wants from parents is a place the children can spend the night.

---

According to the L-E, the natatorium project is on schedule. Great, when it's finished, another $1.2 million in debt service per annum gets piled on the backs of those who pay income taxes.

---

Thought provoking L-E "soundoff" of merit: "Discriminatory outrage * Democrats are outraged about outsourcing jobs to China, so why are they OK with 22 million foreigners illegally working here and sending their pay home? Americans lose jobs either way. Do they just hate Asians?" -- Standing "O" for this submitter!

---

As to the above L-E "soundoff" question: -- The reason DIM&DUMBERats appear to favor illegal aliens over Asians who actually live/work in other countries is that the D&Ds can't create more social service jobs in Asia, nor can the D&D's sign them up for voting or unionization.

---

L-E headline/story: "Columbus woman reports more than $2,000 stolen from under mattress * Anyone with information should contact Columbus police." -- Hmmm, and maybe the IRS and the Welfare department should be contacted as well.

---

Obvious liberal L-E "soundoff": "Don’t those ninnies running against Sanford Bishop realize that “getting the federal government out of education” means losing federal money, without which we’d be back to one-room schoolhouses?" -- Federal dollars are more of a hindrance to public education. Federal dollars usually come with so many strings and caveats attached that even more local money is required to implement the fed based programs, so less dollars actually get to the classroom.

How can potUS Arpege claim small businesses didn't do it themselves, and claim he became president by his own hard work?
---

It's noon on Saturday, and I was sitting down to watch the Olympics. NBC had women's basketball, MSNBC had men's beach volleyball, and Bravo had an interview of a women's tennis player more interested in Michelle Obama being there than in the fact that she won. Fortunately, ESPN had the Senior Open Championship from Scotland. There is justice in the world.
---
L-E headline/story: "MAN FINED FOR FINAL DRINK * Judge Michael Joyner sentenced 27-year-old (Koda) Purvis to 10 days in jail or a $145 fine. " -- Should the fine fit the crime? There's no way that the city has processed this situation for $145.00, so the fine should be based on what Purvis cost the taxpayers for his stupidity.
---
From Karl Douglass commentary: "Mayors Rahm Emanuel and Tom Menino are both highly regarded public officials." -- Maybe in the DIM&DUMBERat world, but the real world knows both as racist thugs.
---
The L-E had its endorsements today for contested MCSD Board races. One was right.
---
Online story: " A judge has barred the University of Colorado Denver from releasing any records about Colorado shooting suspect James Holmes, a former graduate student." -- Hmmm, under the circumstances, perhaps Columbia University and Harvard should reveal potUS Arpege's school records.
---'
The supporters of the T-SPLOST have a list of 10 reasons to vote for it. The reason you should vote against it is simple, 'they' want us to pay for their personal interests.
---
Taxes do not create jobs; they create permanent government workers needing more taxes each year to support their raises/perks.
---
The only time government jobs should expand is when the growth of a community spurs established tax revenue growth to pay for new jobs to service the needs caused by the growth of the community.
---
Campaign expenditure records can be very interesting and revealing. Incumbent Marshall Countryman spent almost $4,300.00 dollars on yard signs from an internet company in Iowa. I'm sure a local company would have loved to get that business, and the city would have loved to get the sales taxes he avoided by buying online.

Let's face it.. the Mayors of Chicago and Boston are racists! Who but a racists would try to keep Southern Fried Chicken out of his town.

---

How can anyone associated with the DIM&DUMBERat Party talk about Romney being an embarrassment in England? Well, I guess it's pretty easy since D&D's aren't accustomed to dealing with, or hearing, the truth. Most of them were not embarrassed over Clinton's sex antics, and heaven knows none of them has a clue as to how the rest of America felt embarrassed by the 'gifts, potUS Arpege has given England such as returning the bust of Sir Winston Churchill, giving a collection of DVD movies in the American vs European format, and who can forget his infamous 'gift' of an MP3 player full of his own speeches he gave the Queen.

---

From a fellow BCer; a bit edgier than I usually pass on, but it really exposes/highlights the bias/hypocrisy of liberals:

---

Online story: "NEW YORK — CNN chief Jim Walton said Friday he is quitting, saying the company needs new leadership at a time its flagship U.S. network is suffering through some of its poorest ratings ever. * CNN's ratings traditionally fluctuate based on the intensity of the news. Fox and MSNBC have insulated themselves from that problem somewhat through its partisan prime-time hosts. * Walton has resisted this approach, believing CNN's strength lies in being a nonpartisan news source and the company's reputation would be damaged worldwide if the U.S. network changed." -- "believing CNN's strength lies in being a nonpartisan news source"? He has to be kidding! This is the same news source that censored sadistic torture news about Saddam Hussein because the Baghdad staff feared it would lose invites to Hussein's parties.
---
Of course VpotUS Biden-Biden and Dingy Harry Reid were upset at what Mitt Romney said about the British Olympic security; it's been nearly 4 years since they have heard the truth from a president/presidential candidate.
---
One of our state reps running for re-election has received 36 different donations from the campaign accounts of current (I can only guess they are unopposed) or retired representatives. This should be a crime... the laundering of other people's money. How can diverting 'gift' money from its intended use be legal or ethical?
---
L-E headline/story: "Feds expedite proposed Atlanta transit project * The proposed hub — planned in an area known as “The Gulch” located downtown near Centennial Olympic Park, the Georgia Dome and the CNN Center — will serve as a terminal for high-speed and commuter rail, a streetcar, Greyhound, MARTA, pedestrians and cyclists. * “It is a model that should guide us through our many other transportation challenges,” Lewis said. “We had a shared vision of a centralized transportation hub in the heart of downtown Atlanta, where rail, bus and train would meet seamlessly.” * U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood says in a statement that centralizing transportation choices will help relieve congestion and create economic opportunities in metro Atlanta." -- Huh? How can funneling all forms of transportation into one complex 'relieve congestion"? Only in the eyes of politicians.....

L-E headline: "Consumer confidence slips during July" -- "Consumer confidence slips"? It's more like having your legs knocked out from under you by a crack-back block.

HuffPost headline: "Mitt Romney Olympics Gaffe 'Insulted Everybody,' Harry Reid Says (EXCLUSIVE) * WASHINGTON -- Mitt Romney embarrassed the United States, and himself, by going to London and insulting the British in advance of the Olympics, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Thursday evening. * "It's not good for us as a country -- it's not good for him -- but as a country to have somebody that's nominated by one of the principal parties to go over and insult everybody," Reid said." -- Coming from Reid of the party that has seen potUS Arpege embarrass America and Americans with his bowing to foreign leaders, conducted an apologizing tour, exposed his racist viewpoints, accepted a Nobel Prize for nothing he's done, caught making a whisper deal with the Russians, chummed up to Hugo Chavez, and ignored the Gulf oil spill needs for over two months, and signed the HELL-thSCARE tax bill without anyone reading it, Reid really doesn't have a standard that could cause him personal embarrassment, much less National Pride.

---

Seems what Harry Reid thinks is embarrassing to America is that Romney comment on the fact that only about one-half of the planned security guards were hired and the Olympics are happening. What would be embarrassing is for some act of terrorism erupt and there not be enough security to handle it.

---

Latest from barackobama.com: "Hal -- My upcoming birthday next week could be the last one I celebrate as President of the United States, but that's not up to me -- it's up to you." -- Well, I won't be able to take all the credit, but we can do this.
---
Online headline: "Rev. Jackson, Gun Control Advocate, To Meet With Aurora Shooting Victim's Family" -- Unbelievable! With all the violence going on in his son's Chicago-land district and never a peep, I guess he feels it's safer to go to Aurora.
---
Online McClatchy story: "John Laird, secretary of the California Natural Resources Agency, which oversees the state parks department, revealed last week that the department had been sitting on $54 million in "hidden assets" for at least 12 years. Some of that money could have been used to avoid the park closures and steep service reductions that have played out over the past two years amid deep state budget cuts." -- "sitting on $54 million in "hidden assets" for at least 12 years"? "Some of that money could have been used to avoid the park closures"? This is not oversight; this is not a memory lapse; this is about theft planned for future execution.
---
RE: The T-SPLOST: Ask yourself why a group of people is so interested in spending its own money in getting the T-SPLOST passed... There's only one answer, that the people see the personal benefit of much more tax dollars flowing into their pockets than they will pay out in additional taxes.
---
NYC Mayor Bloomberg has lost it! He wants to ban soft drinks over 16 ounces. and now he wants the NYPD to go on strike if more gun control laws aren't passed. Guess what Mayor, the Supreme Court would strike down any law you proposed to do that, but more importantly, Mayor Bloomberg, you've asked your law enforcement unit to BREAK the LAW by going on strike! Arrest the anarchist!

US Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma brings up the fact that there are 47 separate federal job training programs fraught with waste, overlapped services, and mismanagement in 9 different agencies. There are cases where $76,000.00 per person has been spent training people for minimum wage entry level jobs. Seems to me we have a case where all these agencies are just training their staffs for perpetual positions.

Schick Hydro 5 update: Yesterday morning, I changed blades from the one I started using on April 1, 2012. This makes it only the third cartridge I've used Since January 1st of this year.

Now potUS Arpege wants us to compare his business plans with those of XpotUS Clinton's plans. Let's do that! Clinton cut business taxes, potUS Arpege wants to raise them; Clinton's food stamp program had about 2 million on it, potUS Arpege's program has about 40 million people on it; gasoline was about $1.22 under Cliunton, and now its up 91%; personal wealth grew 42% under Clinton (and a Republican controlled Congress), and personal wealth under potUS Arpege, Pelosi, and Reid has dropped 35%, and we haven't even begun to compare expenditures or deficits.

---

Why does Fox News use Bob Beckel as a DIM&DUMBERat analyst and spokesperson? He doesn't really present liberal issues in a manner of an alternative answer; he tries to keep discussions limited to D&D mantra.

---

I really think that Romney needs to keep a packet of his tax returns with him at all times, and when anyone asks him to release them, then respond by saying his taxes are ready, but I'll do it only when potUS Arpege releases his college transcripts/records.

L-E story: Viraj K. Shah, of Steam Mill Food Mart, was charged with commercial gambling last month. He has made campaign contributions to a number of candidates seeking re-election, including $2,400 to District Attorney Julia Slater. Slater, whose office advised police in the recent investigation, has begun forfeiture proceedings against Viraj Shah, whose store on 4451 Steam Mill Road is shown below. Inside, view a list of contributions from those connected to the gambling raids. Candidates include District Attorney Julia Slater, Sheriff John Darr, Marshal Greg Countryman and Municipal Court Judge Steven D. Smith" -- Hope we will see those donations re-donated to local charities, The Jail Ministry would be a good one that immediately comes to mind.

---

L-E headline: "White House: Obama won’t be seeking new gun laws " -- Yeah, right.. We all know how well he keeps his campaign promises.

---

Campaign disclosures can be very revealing. Mainly revealing of campaign reform that needs to be addressed. Take this one donation for a perfect example:

The "Committee to Elect Vance C. Smith Jr - P.O. Box 171 - Pine Mpountain, GA 31822 has redirected money donated to one politician (who no longer serves) to another politician's campaign. We cannot expect our elected politicians to clean up after themselves, so maybe a referendum needs to be put on the ballot to make all political campaign accounts be turned over to the coffers of the level a politician last serves before retiring or losing an election. Those donations were NOT given for a politician or ex-politician to use for personal use.

---

The same recipient of the above donation also received a number of donations from the campaign accounts of other politicians. One particularly foul one is a double contribution by "Ralston for Representative Committee, INC - P.O Box 1196 - Blue Ridge, GA 30513. On June 16, said donee made 2 donations of the maximum amount of $2,500.00. One was designated for the primary election and the other for the general election. Question: How can a candidate accept a donation for the general election when the primary election hasn't been held?

---

Red hasn't asked me to do a campaign ad for him, so this is voluntarily submitted. Until a candidate comes along who loves Columbus as much (or more, if possible) than Red, then Red is the man we want, we need. His opponent is, at best, a community organizer, and I have had my fill of elected community organizers. I also wonder about how said opponent supports himself as his profile does not list a job source of income.

---

L-E "headlie": "Senate passes tax cuts for all but richest Americans" -- Other than this is only a partial extension of the current laws, the truth is that the Senate cannot pass a tax cut for "all but the richest" to begin with. 47% of Americans don't pay federal income taxes as it stands now, so how can you give them a tax cut?

---

L-E headline/story: "Cuba willing to sit down with U.S. * HAVANA — Cuban President Raul Castro said Thursday that his government is willing to mend fences with bitter Cold War foe the United States and sit down to discuss anything, as long as it is a conversation between equals. " -- I guess Castro means he wants to sit down only with potUS Arpege.

The unemployment numbers for Columbus are something to worry about. Obviously, BRAC did nothing for the situation, but Columbus having a higher percentage than Atlanta is really something to be concerned about, as big cities seem to attract more unemployed seeking government aid. Columbus being lower than Albany and Macon is no comfort either. Speaking of Columbus, Macon, and Albany, other than being on the high end of the state unemployed list, what do the three cities also have in common? How about all (or a major portion of) three being in Congressman Bishop's district.

Interesting....

London 'bobbies' carry no pistols, but private security carries assault weapons.

---

Online story: "In one of his most direct statements on gun control since his election, President Barack Obama Wednesday called for a "common sense" approach to assault rifle sales in light of Friday's mass shooting in Aurora, Colo., saying no "mentally unbalanced individual" should be able to get their hands on such weapons." -- From another online story: "As far back as the Gun Control Act of 1968, there have been federal laws against selling weapons to mentally ill individuals. But the Virginia Tech tragedy in 2007, in which the shooter Cho Seung-Hui was able to pass two federal gun background checks even after a state court ruled that he was dangerously mentally ill, highlighted the need for better record-keeping and interagency communication to enforce those laws." Sounds more like a case of federal malfeasance in enforcing EXISTING federal laws... sorta like our immigration laws not being enforced, and voter fraud laws not being enforced. We don't need new laws, just new leadership.

" -- This just highlights the shortcoming in our education hierarchy. Just as there should be able bodied people qualified to step into our local Superintendent's shoes already on the staff, the same goes for the UGA. Not having a plan for a successor is a horrible way to run a business or school system. No business professor would teach business students to operate without a succession plan. At least I hope not.

Online HuffPost story: "The LA City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to ban all (marijuana) dispensaries, although patients and caretakers still can grow marijuana at home. * It goes into effect 30 days from when it is signed, which means by September * Councilman Jose Huizar, who introduced the measure, told HuffPost that the ban was necessary because of a proliferation of dispensaries that are not in violation of the city's 2010 dispensary ordinance, including not being too close to each other, schools or libraries. * "We failed to [regulate] for the past five years. No matter what we try to do … to regulate it going forward… we will fail again," Huizar said" -- Well, well, well.. Sanity has struck back in California. Heard on Fox News clip: Even Diane Feinstein, D&D Senator from CA, and chair of Sen Security Committee blames the White House, too, for security leaks.

---

WRBL3 story: Mayor Obamalinson on the T-SPLOST:

1 - “We're roughly putting in 70 percent of the revenue but our projects will equate to about 50 percent of the value of the projects in the entire region,” said Mayor Tomlinson." -- Actually true, but at the same time she's contradicting the theory that out-of-countians/state shoppers pay about 35% of the local SPLOST/LOST taxes we already have in place.

2 - "We have a penny SPLOST falling off,” (in about a year). -- That would be the MCSD SPLOST, and you know the MCSD will be right back at the trough wanting another one as soon as it can.

3 - "“We have to weigh whether we want to have a tax system that sends a great deal of money to other counties versus the fact that we are going to have reduced revenue stream from the state,” -- Huh? How does a region specific tax be considered as revenue from the state?

---

In a nutshell, the supporters claim the T-SPLOST is going to fund the projects ; but that's money straight out of our pockets, but with 30% of that going to other counties. There is no fairy godmother picking up the costs.

---

WTVM9 story: "Thomson man sets head on fire during bar bet" -- And there was actually "film at 11:00". A new low for the 'newsleader9' team.

---

From L-E story: "(City Auditor John) Redmond contended that the ( Inspections and Codes) department lacks a “management continuity plan” to prevent a leadership vacuum in the event of change at the top." -- Man, does John Redmond need to be appointed Auditor for MCSD! It's a crime that there has been zero development of a 'management continuity plan' since we went to an elected school board!

---

From L-E story: "(School board incumbent Rob) Varner wants a superintendent who sees where education is going, not just where it is." -- DOH! Then why did he vote to bring back Phillips? Phillips put in his 'stuff' 7-8 years ago, and most of the CRCT tests owe their results to the program foundations he initiated.

---

How about an appointed school board with qualifications of being active in management/ownership of a local private business would lead to a better balanced board which knows the benefit of nurturing customers of all races, and what elected Superintendent is not going to be responsive to the voters of the city?

---

The number one question every school board incumbent needs to be asked is, "As it appears that there will be a $40M-$50M + revenue shortage from the 1% sales tax, what projects from the last SPLOST need to be removed from the projects list in order that Columbus citizens are not encumbered with unfinished projects and future debts?

---

Tuesday, July 24, 2012

Hugo Chavez has likened his own challenger to Mitt Romney. How coincidental can you get. The world likens Mitt Romney's opponent to Hugo Chavez, and potUS Arpege is proud of that.

---

From a WRBL3 story on the sanctions impose on Penn State by the NCAA: "The unprecedented sanctions are causing a lot of talk among sports fans. The phone board lit up Monday with calls for Bobby Z's show The Pressbox on 95.7 FM and 1580 The Zone. * “I don't like the scholarship reduction because we are punishing a kid that's in the 9th grade right now in Pennsylvania,” said radio caller Bruce Wayne." -- Aside from the poorly timed quote of a Batman'a alter-ego, no 9th grade Pennsylvanian is being punished. To the contrary, 'some 9th grader' has probably been saved from a like of innuendo.

---

PotUS Arpege says one of his campaign strategies is to suppress white non-college educated males. Why the hell isn't AG Eric Holder out protecting these voters' rights!

---

L-E story: "A man who grabbed a woman and kissed her arm Saturday afternoon in downtown Columbus faces charges including pedestrian under the influence, police said." -- "pedestrian under the influence"? Guess all future St Patrick's Day street parties/parades will have to be canceled!
---
Subsequent L-E headline: "Woman accused of punching, biting police officer" -- Guess acting Irish is now a police profile target?
--
Just as all his current campaign promises are rehashed from 2008, potUS Arpege has resorted to rehashing his old birthday pictures to reinforce his youthfulness.

Notice the candle age.
---
If the Aurora, Colorado terrorism had happened in Chicago, potUS Arpege's 'hometown', the media would probably have ignored it as not to show anything there that might embarrass his campaign tour.
---
John Kerry claims he lost the presidency because he got "swift boated" by veterans. May the veterans this year wage a 'swift kick in the (_@_)' to potUS Arpege's campaign.
---
Liberals have jumped quickly on their bandwagon for more gun control laws following the Aurora, CO terrorism, but where are the liberals protesting the Hollywood production of violent movies, TV shows, comic books, and music?
---
From L-E story comparing Walker & Senior in School Board race in District 3: " (Incumbent James) Walker joined the board in 1994. He is a retired command sergeant major in the U.S. Army who served twice in Korea and twice in Vietnam. He is a retired financial advisor. * One of the board’s greatest achievements, he said, is the building of the public education center on Macon Road that has made running the business of the school district better for employees and parents. He is also proud of several new schools that have been built and also of the new technology being put into all the schools." -- How pathetic.. Walker has to express his pride in "things' because he sure can't point out his pride in how these 'things' have resulted in better test scores and other student achievement.
---
L-E headline/story: "City planning land swap with Liberty District church * The city will also grade the city-owned land to the same level as the church’s parking lot and also pay the church $31,000, the difference in the two parcels’ appraised value." -- Doesn't sound like an equal exchange considering the church comes out better than the rest of the taxpayers in Columbus.. Especially since the church doesn't pay property taxes!
---
Liberal's L-E "soundoff": "There is nothing in the health care bill about cutting anything out of Medicare, in fact, it enhances Medicare. Just another lie the Republicans have generated, and apparently it worked with some people. " -- This must be potUS Arpege's and Nancy Pelosi's "dream' voter.. obviously, this liberal did not read the HELL-thSCARE bill after it was passed, either. Well, more accurately, no one read it to him/her.
---
L-E headline: "Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority hands out 12 scholarships to high schoolers" -- The A.K.A. Sorority does marvelous projects in Columbus, and we are fortunate to have such a group of dedicated women, but how much longer can any organization ignore 'diversity' and be a positive influence on acceptance of diversity in life? The ongoing segregation of any organization is a detriment to building unity in the community as well as the world.

L-E's "Thought for Today": “It is easier to do a job right than to explain why you didn’t.” — Attributed to President Martin Van Buren (born 1782, died this date in 1862). " -- Very true, but, unfortunately, we have politicians who don't know what's 'right' to begin with.
---
L-E's "Late laughs": " JOBLESS CLAIMS rose again by 35,000 last week. Not good. But it does show that if you're unsuccessful in this country, you didn’t do it on your own. You had help. Thank you, President Obama. - Jay Leno" -- What else can be added?
---
Counting the notices posted in other parts of the L-E, the Foreclosure Section was one of (if not "the") largest sections ever!

Online headline: "Barack Obama's Gun Control Plan Focuses On 'Existing Law' -- Now, if potUS Arpege would only focus on enforcing existing immigration laws!

---

Online headline: Westboro Baptist Church Threatens To 'Super Picket' Aurora Prayer Vigil" -- I really do not want to appear insensitive, but if a situation ever deserved a self-destructive nut wanting to do a copycat mass shooting. I do believe I could handle this opportunity a lot easier than the Aurora, CO terrorism. I could be accepting if the Southern Baptist group did the honors.

---

Online headline: "Afghanistan War Reaches Major Milestone" -- Ooops, my bad..thought potUS Arpege had reached a new level of groveling and apologizing.

---

WRBL3 headline: "New breastfeeding initiative across the country" -- Ooops, my bad.. thought the DIM&DUMBERats had proposed another welfare initiative to buy more November voters.

---

WTVM9 headline: "Deliveries could show 'calculation' by DKR shooting suspect" -- What's wrong with our justice and media systems? Neither seems to be able to accept that a certifiable maniac did something inhumanely devastating, and that he needs to be taken out to the nearest oak tree in Colorado, publicly strung up, and left hanging there until his carcass literally rots and falls to the ground.

---

The worst collateral damage of the mass terrorist murder at the Colorado movie theater is that movie theaters around the country will start checking women's purses to 'look for guns', but the theaters will really be glad because the situation gives them a real opportunity to crack down of people bringing snacks/candy into the theaters. Now we'll have to start paying $4.00 for the 'available everywhere else for $1.00 box of candy'.

---

The 2012 British Open was sorta 'deja vu-ish' to the 1996 Masters when another Aussie blew it BIG on the back 9.

---

From the L-E's "Today in History" : "One year ago, singer Amy Winehouse, 27, was found dead in her London home from accidental alcohol poisoning. " -- "accidental alcohol poisoning"? It was no "accident" she kept drinking alcohol until she was in her last drunken stupor.

---

New standards are not going to help with CRCT scores. The previous standards were 'new' at one time, and look what the results have been. The MCSD board needs to eliminate any/every program that is funded by the federal government because the 'strings attached' are strangling our teachers and students. And since he's here now, ask Phillips why his "old new standards" have been failure?

---

If you are in District 1 for the School Board election, either vote for Stewart, or against Hugely-Green... and I don't care which is the reason.

---

If you get a chance to question Hugely-Green, ask her which SPLOST projects she 'feels' need to be pared off 'the list' because of major revenue loss for the overly ambitious plan. Ask every incumbent the same question!
---
There's only one worthwhile project on the T-SPLOST list that deserves our consideration.. that's the connector to the new industrial park at the Ft Benning entrance of I-185, but we can do that ourselves by demanding Council fund it from the last LOST tax revenues earmarked for "infrastructure" projects. This way, we don't have to be saddled with a 10-year-going-on-permanent sales tax for draining local tax dollars out of our county.
---
A member of the Penn State Board of Trustees suggested they wait 30 days before deciding on the fate of Joe Paterno's statue. It was taken down this weekend... with too much dignity (no bulldozer). 30 days more would not have lessened the disappointment we have in Paterno, so this was good.
---
Ex-Reds shortstop Barry Larkin being elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame stirs the embers of Pete Rose's career. It also stirs the anger of his personal destructive nature. You have to respect 'the game of baseball'; he didn't.
---
Don Imus is 72 today. I am shocked! I thought he had to be closer to 108.

The Breakfast Club - July 19-22 Catch Up Edition

We're Baaccckkkk!!!!!

---

While "anniversaring", I did keep up but more leisurely. Here's the recap:
---

The bloom must "really be off the rose". Remember when the media would only show Tiger pictures when he was 'walking on water'? Tiger could have at least smiled at the little guy as he brushed him off.

---

L-E story: "Visit Steak ’n Shake on Bradley Park Drive for dinner on Aug. 2 from 4:30 to 10 p.m. and 10 percent of your check will be donated to The Crisis Center of Russell County. " -- This makes as much sense as asking the City to send some property tax revenues to Phenix City. Of course, it makes better sense than One Columbus holding its "Unity Golf Event" in Opelika, AL.
---
Liberals L-E "soundoff": "Before you vote for Mitt Romney, please read about him in the August issue of Vanity Fair. " -- Now we know why liberals political views are so wacko; look where they get their data. Wonder if the article is before or after the 'centerfold'?
---
L-E "Quotable “We must rediscover the distinction between hope and expectation.” - Ivan Illich American sociologist (1926-2002) -- This should have been a required disclaimer on every one of now potUS Arpege's 2008 campaign promises!
---
From Council's Purchase Agenda published in the L-E: "Mobile data computers for police department: It is requested that council approve the purchase of 21 MW810 mobile data computers from Motorola Inc., in the amount of $235,347. ($11,207.00 each), via a cooperative purchase utilizing State of Georgia (Georgia Technology Authority) Contract # 980-2800008.The new mobile data units will be installed into 21 pursuit vehicles recently approved for purchase. " -- $11,207.00 for a laptop computer with a cellular modem? Maybe 20 years ago, but way too much by today's tech standards.
---
L-E headline: "SUSPECT IN JACKSON SLAYING MAY GO TO TRIAL IN LATE 2013 " -- 2013? This happened in 2010 and Strozier was picked up fast... why such slow justice? Isn't the public entitled to a 'fast and speedy trial' as well?
---
Looking at the picture of Strozier in the Saturday L-E, you have to wonder why close cropped hair cuts are mandatory when prisoners are incarcerated as felons awaiting trials..
---
Liberal L-E "soundoff": "Obama voted 17 times to cut taxes for small businesses. Meanwhile, the GOP has filibustered every job bill. The American people know who has our backs. " -- You can bet this liberal feels he'll get all of potUS Arpege's first election campaign promises fulfilled in he votes for him again.
---
L-E headline/story: "Romney’s foreign trip an audition as U.S. leader * GOP candidate has little foreign affairs experience * WASHINGTON — Mitt Romney auditions on the international stage next week as he travels to England, Israel and Poland looking to establish credibility as a potential commander in chief in his challenge to President Barack Obama. " -- "little foreign affairs experience" ? "looking to establish credibility as a potential commander in chief in his challenge to President Barack Obama."? Who are these AP reporters? If running an Olympics competition is not a major venture in foreign affairs, then what is it? And "credibility"? The AP considers potUS Arpege is credible with other foreign leaders?
---
L-E story: "MOSCOW — A stooped woman in her 70s dropped off a kettle and about $600 in cash in Moscow, while a thick-necked businessman unloaded an SUV packed with brand new strollers and jumbo packages of diapers. * It was part of a spontaneous wave of charity for flood victims in the town of Krymsk, jumpstarted by social networking sites and through a handful of independent radio and TV stations. It was also part of a growing penchant for independent action that unsettles the powerful. * A week after the unprecedented flood volunteerism emerged, a Kremlin-linked body proposed a bill that regulates charity drives. Critics suspect the move is aimed at keeping a tight leash on popular movements that could snowball into anti-government protest." -- Regulate charity drives? Who do the Russian politicians think they are... DIM&DUMBERat U.S. Congresspersons? Before long, Russian politicians will feel like charity is the responsibility of its politicians like DIM&DUMBERats in our Congress.
---
L-E's "Quotable": "Government is the great fiction, through which everybody endeavors to live at the expense of everybody else.” - Frederic Bastiat French economist (1801-1850) -- No wonder potUS Arpege, Princess Pelosi and Dingy Harry Reid and DIM&DUMBERats in general want to remodel our government in the likeness of the French!
---
L-E's Dimon Kendrick-Holmes just blew the MCSD logic of poverty being the main reason of low CRCT tests: "If you hail from north of Macon Road, you’re probably thinking to yourself that if the city split into two school districts, that the upper half would easily beat the state average in math. * Not true. Take away the 22 Title I elementary schools, and the remaining 12 schools would still fall short of the rest of the state. Take away the six Title I middle schools, and the remaining six would fall short as well. * Yes, the schools in north Columbus are below average, too." -- And eliminate Britt David Magnet, and it's even worse, especially when you consider that at Britt David, 14% of student ware on the free/reduced meal plan, and all 14% passed their CRCTs in every category.
---
From the 'huh? headline' department - WTVM9 headline: "Local surgeons help blind Africans" -- read "blind" as a verb as well as a noun, and you get a different picture.
---
Online story: "BOSTON (AP) — The mayor of Boston is vowing to block Chick-fil-A from opening a restaurant in the city after the company's president spoke out publicly against gay marriage. * Mayor Thomas Menino told the Boston Herald on Thursday that he doesn't want a business in the city "that discriminates against a population." -- How does the Mayor of Boston tie a position against 'gay (homosexual) marriage' with business/personal discrimination. Can the Mayor of Boston find one case of a gay being denied the opportunity to buy a Chick-fil-A product?
---
I sincerely hope the new Batman has a terrible weekend at the movies. It's not just about the evil monster in Colorado. It's about what Hollywood is blazing across our young people's brains as to what the future brings. The occult/dark nature of superhero, zombie, vampire, or medieval times and witchcraft seem to be becoming acceptable to our desolate young folks.
---
The monster who killed the people in the theater...Mike Huckabee said he's never going to mention the evil one's name. That way, the evil monster will not get the sick satisfaction of hearing hid name in the media. Hope all media outlets adopt Huckabee's philosophy.
---
L-E story: "CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. — The Defense Department on Thursday announced it is allowing service members to march in uniform in a gay pride parade for the first time in U.S. history." -- Guess the DOD will issue participants a 'Lavender Heart" service medal.
---

Speaking of all the wasteful potUS Arpege "STIMU-LIE" dollars, what's the latest on those super expensive 'green' buses the City ordered?
---
Online headline: "George Soros' Son Strikes Out On His Own" -- Ooops, my bad, thought life had hit Alexander Soros with reality after all the lob pitches his dad his thrown him all these years.
---
Online headline: "Former SEAL Team 6 Member Creates Anti-Obama Super PAC" -- potUS Arpege better really know his facts before setting SEAL Team 6 loose again to take out an obvious meglomaniac terrorist leader.
---
Online headline: "DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz Backs Marriage Equality In Party Platform" -- What will the DIM&DUMBERats finally decide what constitutes 'a real marriage"? Heck, the D&Ds still consider Bill's and Hillary's 'a real marriage'.
---
In Colorado, "The Dark Knight Rises" was a dark night for all.
---
The T-SPLOST project connecting the new complex at the Ft Benning intersection is not enough reason to vote "yes" on the tax; the rest of the T-Splost is not worth the 10 years of regressive taxation that doesn't even come back to Columbus intact. Lets petition Council and demand the necessary funding for that 1 project out of our existing LOST Infra-Structure devoted revenues.
---
Online headline: "Obama Approval Rating Dragged Down By Economy, New Poll Shows" -- Wait until the Novemebr Poll to see how far.
---
Online headline: "Man With Fake Michigan ID Bombed Israeli Tourists On Bus" -- Wanna bet the fake ID was his ACORN issued voter registration card?
---
Online "headlie": "White House: Assad Is Losing Control" -- Huh? Last time I looked, Assad seemed pretty much still in control of the "White House".
---

Special Announcement

In honor of our 12th Anniversary, we are taking a special trip, so the Breakfast Club is taking a vacation until July 23rd. Enjoy a few days off, or plunge into back editions for a few days.
Thanks for your support.
Latest from barackobama.com: "
Hal --

Have you ever gotten to do something so cool you're almost jealous of yourself?

Pretty sure this would count: On August 12th, just three weeks before the Democratic National Convention and 12 weeks before Election Day, President Obama will have a few friends over to mark his 51st birthday -- in the backyard of his Chicago home.

And you're invited. -- T
his must be how potUS Arpege is planning to increase his' jobs created' number for August. He'll be hiring every guest his or her very on Secret Service body guard while in Chicago
---
How come the MCSD hasn't figured out that students did better when prayer was allowed in schools than since it has been removed?
---
The T-SPLOST lobby group is so desperate, it's resorting to pulling facts out of the DIM&DUMBERats playbook. Create 16,000 new jobs? No way! What will happen is that the influx of projects will stretch the current work crews so thin that the management will be able to raise their job bids and pad their bottom line, but adding jobs where job opportunities have been thin will not happen. The best we can expect is that existing crews will get full time versus part time work. This sort of reminds me of the intense push for the BRAC preparedness.. and we know the results of that!
---
WTVM9 headline: "Romney accuses Obama of casting shame on success" -- When you think about it, what job has potUS Arpege held in the private sector? He has no clue.
---
I wish the various legitimate Baptist Associations would sue Westboro "Baptist" Church to stop it from associating itself with other Baptist churches... or any Christian church, for that matter.
---
potUS Arpege complained about the War in Iraq being so wasteful of American tax dollars, but since then, he's pulled the troops out, reduced our troop levels, reduced the defense budget, but still says we aren't paying enough in taxes. Where's that peace dividend you promised, potUS Arpege?
---
Seeing the "Boottheboard.com" ad concerning the MCSD incumbents made me think that the anonymous group (Just Wonder if a certain current board member who's not running this year is involved) had a better graphic available to them. Can't you see a "Ron White" clio of him saying, "You can't fix stupid" followed by some overlaid sound bite finishing with, "but you can replace it"?
---
Ask the principles at 'SweetFrog' Yogurt Shop how they spell and define "honorable". It differs from yours and my definition.
---
From L-E story: "District 3 incumbent James Walker and challenger Athavia “A.J.” Senior were asked what qualities they would look for in the new superintendent the board has hired a search firm to help it find. * Walker said he wants someone who has served a district equal or larger than Muscogee County’s, and someone who can communicate well with the community. * Senior said the county needs someone who is invested in Columbus, proficient in budgeting and able to work well with others. " -- I think Senior has a better grasp of the situation. If Walker wants someone who has served in a district 'equal to or larger' and who can 'communicate with the community', Walker should be looking for someone inside the MCSD system!
---
From above L-E story: "(Pat Hugley)Green said the latest sales tax for schools voters approved includes a performing arts magnet, and the district currently has an elementary-level one at Wynnton." -- Well, Ms. Green, since there is going to be a tremendous shortfall of the SPLOST revenue expectations, are you going to spend money you won't have on a new Arts Magnet?
---
Yesterday, I e-mailed the Chamber to ask questions at the School Board forum concerning the revenue shortfalls of the SPLOST (more like a "SPLAT", now). This is a big concern to our community as the MCSD board could easily strangle us with unfinished projects and $50,000,000.00 in debt if the board proceeds recklessly.
The Chamber obviously "dropped the ball".
---
Combined with the Chamber's push for the T-SPLOST, the Chamber hasn't had a good week.
---
L-E headline/story: "Woman accused of child molestation dismisses lawyer, will represent herself at trial * "I do not want her as my attorney," Norman said. "I have the right to have her not represent me." * "You have the right to represent yourself," Allen countered." -- Well, I hope this exchange is attached to her trial transcript so that the GA Supreme Court cannot overturn her conviction based on 'inefficient representation'.
---
L-E headline/story: "MUSCOGEE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT * District behind state average in course tests * Muscogee County School District interim Superintendent John Phillips Jr. thinks the district’s scores on the spring end-of-course tests were “pretty good,” but improvement is needed." -- Well, this certainly "justifies' bring Phillips back in at $17 per month...NOT! The ironic part, well, perhaps 'moronic' fits better, is that the high schoolers of this year were the middle schoolers under Phillips' curriculum when he was here before. Guess Phillips' efforts weren't as good as the MCSD wants us to believe enough to justify bringing him back in.
---
For the record, these are the "numbers" of the high schoolers influenced by Phillips' programs:
---
Countryman beat Suddeth because Suddeth felt invulnerable to being held responsible. Countryman has been irresponsible with grant/tax money paid to Congressman Bishop's family for the Jr Marshal's program. Voters should take it from here.
---
l-E headline: "Drought grips more than half of nation " -- Oooops, my bad. Thought this was the latest jobs report.
---
I do applaud the efforts of the participants in the House of Heroes "Run Across Georgia". It takes great commitment and dedication. I also hate to see money they raised spent on a newspaper ad versus some Heroes House.
---
Judge Cohn was one of my other fathers in my life. There are not honors or accolades to great for him. I do think the MCSD is acting to hastily in announcing a school be named for him so close to his death.
---
Black columnist William Raspberry just passed. The Ledger-Enquire used to publish his columns, but changed to black perspective columns by Leonard Pitts. So, instead of bringing the perspective 'fruit' of a Pulitzer Prize winner, the L-E gave us 'the pits'.

Tuesday, July 17, 2012

The Florida prosecutor in the George Zimmerman persecution has released 'testimony' of a woman called 'witness 9', and though it's not to be used in the trial, though it's not to be available for Zimmerman's legal team to cross examine, creates another cloud in the picture. Sounds like the Florida prosecutor has found another "Anita Hill".

---

Online story: "Penn State's Board of Trustees were furious over the way they were portrayed in the Freeh report, which detailed FBI agent Louis J. Freeh's investigation into the university's handling of the Jerry Sandusky criminal investigation" - Well, excuse ME! I am furious, as furious or more, than Louis Freeh's report! Penn State Board of Trustees, et over it, and pray Sandusky's victims can eventually get over it!
---
American Olympic athletes will be wearing "french Berets" made in China to the games in England. Wonder where the DEPENDS came from that our Olympic committee was wearing when this came to light.
---
Looking at the uniform 'designed' for our Olympic athletes, you'd think the designer was thinking that the Olympics are being held in "Gay Paree".
---
potUS Arpege is claiming that the government invented the Internet so businesses could make money off of it. Excuse me, but when I first experienced Internet communications, it was with a 300 baud phone modem on which you could actually watch each text letter appear one at a time. It was entrepreneurs who grasped the future and created Internet accesses that were user friendly, and fast enough to keep up with the user demand. I'd hate to think how far behind in technology we'd be if we had to wait on government to perfect/improve this technology.
---
potUS Arpege wants Romney to release 8-10 years of his tax returns. Romney should counter by releasing all his college records, and saying he'll release his tax returns when potUS Arpege releases all his college records.
---
The latest from barackobama.com:
"Hal --

Barack turns 51 next month, and there will be a little celebration at our house in Chicago. We'd like to give grassroots supporters an opportunity to join in the fun. You guys deserve it, and I know Barack would personally love to see you there." -- Question..if it's a 'grassroots' phenomena, how come he's sending out invitations?
---
All-State, State Farm, Alfa, Farmers, Geico, Progressive, 21st Century,,, all of them claim their car insurance will save you money compared to each other. 6 are obviously lying, and I'll take odds the other one is also.
---
In a TV interview this weekend, potUS Arpege said his greatest disappointment was in not bringing people together. Huh? He's done a yoeman's job at bringing people together! Black Congresspersons huddle together, Muslims huddle together, LGBT's huddle together, and Environmental wackos huddle together. The only diverse group anymore is the Christians, and we should pray that all Christians 'huddle together' in the November elections.
---
Online story: "In a victory for Republicans, the federal government has agreed to let Florida use a law enforcement database to challenge people's right to vote if they are suspected of not being U.S. citizens." -- This is not a REPUBLICAN victory by itself. It's a victory for every American who doesn't want his/her vote canceled out by a dead or otherwise illegal voter.
---
It's official now, that more BCers get their morning reports online rather than by e-mail, and that it's now reaching readers in 10 countries and 3 continents.
---
WRBL NEWS3 headline: ""Boot the Board," television ads appear on local television " -- While I agree with the anonymous groups sentiment, I am not behind this, nor do I admire anyone protesting in anonymity. Speak your piece proudly, or hold it.
---
WTVM9 News story: "WTVM) - "While the rest of state government eliminated 10,000 jobs during the recession, the university system of Georgia added more than 5,000 employees. * Colleges said they needed to hire additional staff to keep pace with increasing enrollment." -- What arrogance! If there is such additional enrolment, it is fueled by people who can't get a job trying to do something with their time using government encouraged student loans which they won't be able to pay back because they won't get a job when they get a useless degree.
---
Liberal's L-E "soundoff": "Talk about a bad economy — just elect Romney and you will find out what a bad economy is. " -- Yeah, and that's the only way you'll get the truth about the economy. potUS Arpege and his 40 Tsars have teamed up to keep the truth from their voter base.
---
L-E's "Quotable “Success without honor is an unseasoned dish; it will satisfy your hunger, but it won’t taste good.” - Joe Paterno American sports coach (1926-2012) " -- How ironic...Paterno wrote his own epitaph...
---
L-E headline: " PENN STATE SCANDAL * Paterno family vows to conduct its own probe * Rejects findings in report that sullies late coach’s legacy" -- Yeah..right.. like they really want to know the real truth. Maybe OJ can help them get strated on their hunt.
---
You learn something every day. Today I learned that Chuck Williams is younger than me. I thought he was my age, and had married a younger woman...

L-E headline/story: "Clemency denied for Georgia death row inmate Hill * Warren Lee Hill was sentenced to death for killing a fellow inmate * The board announced its decision Monday after hearing arguments Friday in the case of Warren Lee Hill, who was convicted in 1991 and sentenced to death for killing a fellow inmate while serving a life sentence for his girlfriend’s slaying. * (His lawyer, Brian) Kammer had asked the board to commute Hill’s sentence to life in prison without parole or to grant him a 90-day stay of execution to give the U.S. Supreme Court time to consider the case. A petition to have Hill’s case heard by the U.S. Supreme Court was denied last month, but Kammer has filed a new request with the high court. Kammer said he filed a motion Monday with the U.S. Supreme Court asking for a delay until that court has had a chance to review his request for a rehearing. " -- There are some appeals that can evoke public sympathy, but this is not one of them. I have no sympathy for Hill or lawyer Kammer, and if justice is to be served, Kammer should get the same results as Hill for wasting taxpayer and true justice's time and money.

From the 'lousy headline' department - L-E headline: "Funeral set for soldier hit by roadside bomb " -- Was the funeral ambushed by a roadside bomb?

L-E sub headline: "Alabama State coach says he will hold former UGA, Carver tailback accountable " -- Yeah...right! Crow-well will probably never set foot in a classroom there. He'll play the football season, and enter the draft before grades are posted for the semester.

I get a kick out of the T-SPLOST campaign ads. Everyone I recognize seems to have (or want) a vested interest in the proposed project list. VOTE "NO!".

Woe is us...woe is the US. The L-E's "Foreclosure Section" just hit a recent high of 13 pages worth.
