There's actually quite a simple reason potUS Arpege (promise them anything but give'm Arpege) is not going to the NAACP Convention....security is requiring 2 forms of photo identification.

The death toll in Columbus is climbing at nearly a 32% increase in the last three months. The last time I reported on the number of dead/dying trees put in for the beautification of Veterans Parkway, there were 19 such trees; now there are 25.

A short time back, Brad Pitts' mother wrote a letter to her newspaper countering a letter inferring voters should shun Mitt Romney 'because he is Mormon". Mrs. Pitts urged "prayerful consideration" from fellow Christians before voting for Obama -- "a man," she pointed out, "who sat in Jeremiah Wright's church for years, did not hold a public ceremony to mark the National Day of Prayer, and is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage." Hollywood's glamouratti is in turmoil, as castigating 'Brangelina' could get the chastisers removed from invites to A-list parties. It's going to be interesting as November gets closer.

Watching the king sized 'excavator' at work behind the old dam at the whitewater site makes me wonder how many archeological treasures are being destroyed that were buried under the silt. You think some watchdog group would be monitoring this. http://vsasecuritysystems.com/whitewater-project/

Online headline: "China Slams the Brakes on GM's Accelerating Car Sales" -- Guess China has decided to fire a shot across potUS Arpege's 'bow' to remind him who calls the 'shots'.

Online headline/story: "MLB All-Star: Fans Went Over the Line * "This is a game," (New York Yankees' Robinson) Cano said, according to ESPN.com. "We're All-Stars. And if I get booed, I don't really care. But when they start with your family, that's over the line." -- What arrogance... KC fans were just responding to Cano leaving its local power hitter off the AL entrants in the Home Run contest. This just shows how today's players think they are bigger than the game. Here's one more for you, Cano, "BOO!"

Online headline/story: "Rooftop missiles for London Olympics OK'd by judge *
The missiles will be installed within days on the 17-story tower, one of six sites around London where surface-to-air missiles will be stationed as part of a vast security operation for games that run through Aug. 12 * The defense ministry says the missiles, capable of shooting down a hijacked aircraft" -- Glad the Olympics are not scheduled here...roof top missiles would be banned by the US 9th District Court as "Muslim profiling".

Online story: "LONDON (AP) London's municipal authority has urged organizers of the upcoming London Olympics to rethink their relationship with top games sponsor Dow Chemical Co." -- There has already been a challenge about Coke and McDonald's being major Olympic sponsors, so it looks like the next Olympics may be referred to as "The Mole Hill Games".

There's a 26 picture slide show on HuffPost showing Chicago politicians who have been arrested/convicted of in-office corruption. Looks somewhat short of being complete, but the addition of photos of Jesse Jackson, Jr., Rahm Emanuel, and potUS Arpege would go a long way to updating what has to be considered Chicago's Hall of Shame.

L-E story: "“We know we are not getting anything more with Mc-Daniel except someone trying to make a 40-year career out of being city councilor,” (Jeremy) Hobbs countered. “It’s time to put someone to work who brings to the table energy, action and vision.” -- "energy..action..vision"? All Hobbs brings to the table is 'personal activism' for his own 'agenda'. Until someone runs against Red on a 'love of our city' campaign basis that is better than Red's, Red is the Man!
---
As I think back to another time when Hobbs ran against Red (from an address of what he told me was his aunt's home), we had a conversation in which he inferred to me that he was a lawyer. Since when has CVCC offered a degree in lawyering even if you haven't graduated?
