Obvious liberal L-E "soundoff": "Don’t those ninnies running against Sanford Bishop realize that “getting the federal government out of education” means losing federal money, without which we’d be back to one-room schoolhouses?" -- Federal dollars are more of a hindrance to public education. Federal dollars usually come with so many strings and caveats attached that even more local money is required to implement the fed based programs, so less dollars actually get to the classroom.
