Yesterday was the annual "running of the bulls" in Spain. That reminded me that John Wells participated in it a few years ago. It wasn't the running that triggered the memory, it was his incessant, ever present 'bull'.

Unfortunately, you can bet which way she will vote.. it is a new tax, and she is a DIM&DUMBERat politician. Vote "NO!"

What the DOT doesn't want discussed is that this T-SPLOST will free up its normal sources of tax revenues to spend as politically as it wants. In other words, not in Columbus.

Giving out food, welfare, and other entitlements is EXACTLY how DIM&DUMBERats buy student, youth and leftist votes in this country!

Why is that when the L-E publishes commentary of obvious political figures, say Michelle Obama or Bob Hydrick, the L-E will publish a disclaimer to such, but when lesser known, but very obvious political figures, such as local D&D treasurer, Judy F(racking) Brouillette, or Sanford Bishop staffer, Karl Douglass, are published, the L-E does not connect their political affiliations?

From the City Manager's Agenda: GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - L230 TRANSPORTATION FUNDS - BUENA VISTA ROAD CORRIDOR STUDY: Authorization is requested to enter into a contractual agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation to accept $60,000 in L230 Transportation funds ($48,000 - 80 percent state, 20 percent local match $12,000) to conduct a study along Buena Vista Road from Wynnton Road to Illges Road to determine if improvements are needed." -- Doh! Of course improvements are NEEDED! Now, take the $60,000.00 to wasted on determining this, and apply it directly to the needed improvements!

More from the City Manager's Agemda: "GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION STUDY: Authorization is requested to enter into a contractual agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation to accept State L230 Transportation funds to develop an Alternative Transportation Study for $120,000 ($96,000 - 80 percent with 20 percent local match $24,000) to promote a safe, convenient and efficient environment for bicycle and pedestrian travel that will encourage the use of public streets, off-street facilities and public transit." -- Forget spending tax dollars from motorists; start collecting fees for bicycle license plates, and bicycle driving licensies.

Once again the MCSD is wasting tax dollars by entering into summer feeding programs. Parents need to be held responsible for feeding their children, and the school system needs to save tax dollars by eliminating operation expenses during the summer months.

Put that in your ballot box and vote on it!

While it's a moment of opportunity, a reminder that The First Tee of Columbus, GA has reorganized to become Fore Kids Columbus, GA. The First Tee (national) advertisements for donations worked against the local effort as no money sent to The First Tee (national) got filtered back to the former Columbus chapter, and none of the PGA events in GA made donations to any First Tee chapters outside its area, The First Tee (national)restrictions on programs made it difficult and costly for The First Tee of Columbus to continue running its children & youth programs. Fore Kids Columbus, GA is resuming and expanding its ideals created originally as "Seniors for Kids". Thanks for your continued, ongoing, and renewed support.
