Yesterday was the annual "running of the bulls" in Spain. That reminded
me that John Wells participated in it a few years ago. It wasn't the running
that triggered the memory, it was his incessant, ever present
'bull'.

From another fellow BCer:
YOU KNOW YOU LIVE IN AN UPSIDE-DOWN LAND IF:
THE SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES CAN RULE THAT LOWER
COURTS CANNOT DISPLAY THE 10 COMMANDMENTS IN THEIR COURTROOM, WHILE SITTING IN FRONT OF A DISPLAY OF THE 10 COMMANDMENTS.

Online quote service: "Some people regard private
enterprise as a predatory tiger to be shot. Others look on it as a cow they can
milk. Not enough people see it as a healthy horse, pulling a sturdy
wagon." Winston Churchill" -- Vote "NO" on T-SPLOST in July; vote
"NO" on every DIM&DUMBERat in November.
---
Liberal's L-E "soundoff": "Mayor
Tomlinson doesn't necessarily have a problem with religious symbols in public
places. The law of the land has that problem, and she’s required to enforce
it. " -- Whoa here a minute..."required to enforce it"? Not unless she has 6
Council votes.....
---
From L-E story on T-SPLOST: "Tomlinson said she is taking no official position on
the referendum. But she did say she does not like the fact that Muscogee County
will be putting more into the tax than it will get out. " -- History! A
DIM&DUMBERat politician who 'almost' doesn't like a new tax. Unfortunately,
you can bet which way she will vote.. it is a new tax, and she is a
DIM&DUMBERat politician. Vote "NO!"
---
What
the DOT doesn't want discussed is that this T-SPLOST will free up its normal
sources of tax revenues to spend as politically as it wants. In other words, not
in Columbus.

L-E headline/story: "MEXICO * Protesters accuse party
of buying votes * The protesters, including
students, youths and leftists, accuse his long-ruling Institutional
Revolutionary Party of giving out bags of groceries, pre-paid gift cards
and
other goods to voters ahead of Mexico’s July 1 national elections." -- Huh?
Giving out food, welfare, and other entitlements is EXACTLY how
DIM&DUMBERats buy student, youth and leftist votes in this
country!
---
L-E story: "ATLANTA — Georgia is about to do something it’s
never done before: Charge veterans for their care in the state’s two homes for
war veterans. * The legislation’s sponsor,
Democratic Rep. Mary Margaret Oliver of Decatur, said Georgia has not
been getting the federal funds it could get. (sic)" -- Another victim of the
potUS Arpege economic failure, or just another broken potUS Arpege campaign
promise? When will the D&D's play the "It's Bush's fault"
card?
---
From L-E commentary: "Top (Penn State) university officials — since-fired
president Graham Spanier, vice president Gary Schultz and athletic director Tim
Curley — apparently had agreed to report San-dusky to state child welfare
authorities until Paterno interceded, emails show. Curley, after
speaking to the legendary coach — once his coach — wrote
to Spanier that a more “humane” solution would be to handle this quietly and
in-house. " -- Papa Joe?.... more like "Whopper Joe". What a way to destroy your
life and your
memory.
---
Why
is that when the L-E publishes commentary of obvious political figures, say
Michelle Obama or Bob Hydrick, the L-E will publish a disclaimer to such, but
when lesser known, but very obvious political figures, such as local D&D
treasurer, Judy F(racking) Brouillette, or Sanford Bishop staffer, Karl
Douglass, are published, the L-E does not connect their political
affiliations?

From the City Manager's Agenda: GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - L230 TRANSPORTATION FUNDS - BUENA VISTA ROAD CORRIDOR STUDY: Authorization is requested to enter into a contractual agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation to accept $60,000 in L230 Transportation funds ($48,000 - 80 percent state, 20 percent local match $12,000) to conduct a study along Buena Vista Road from Wynnton Road to Illges Road to determine if improvements are needed." -- Doh! Of course improvements are NEEDED! Now, take the $60,000.00 to wasted on determining this, and apply it directly to the needed improvements!

More from the City
Manager's Agemda: "GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION - ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION STUDY: Authorization is requested to enter into a
contractual agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation to accept
State L230 Transportation funds to develop an Alternative Transportation Study
for $120,000 ($96,000 - 80 percent with 20 percent local match $24,000) to promote a safe, convenient and efficient
environment for bicycle and pedestrian travel that will encourage the use of
public streets, off-street facilities and public transit." -- Forget spending
tax dollars from motorists; start collecting fees for bicycle license plates,
and bicycle driving licensies.

Once again the MCSD is
wasting tax dollars by entering into summer feeding programs. Parents need to be
held responsible for feeding their children, and the school system needs to save
tax dollars by eliminating operation expenses during the summer
months.
Put that in your ballot
box and vote on it!

While it's a moment of
opportunity, a reminder that The First Tee of Columbus, GA has reorganized to
become Fore Kids Columbus, GA. The First Tee (national) advertisements for
donations worked against the local effort as no money sent to The First Tee
(national) got filtered back to the former Columbus chapter, and none of the PGA
events in GA made donations to any First Tee chapters outside its area, The
First Tee (national)restrictions on programs made it difficult and costly for
The First Tee of Columbus to continue running its children & youth programs.
Fore Kids Columbus, GA is resuming and expanding its ideals created originally
as "Seniors for Kids". Thanks for your continued, ongoing, and renewed
support.
