From the 'catastrophic PR' department - Online story: "HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. -- Lifeguard Tomas Lopez helped save a drowning man and got fired for it. * The reason: He left the section of a south Florida beach his company is paid to patrol. The Orlando-based company, Jeff Ellis and Associates, says Lopez broke a company rule and could have put beach goers in his section in jeopardy. * By the time Lopez arrived, witnesses had pulled the drowning man out of the water. Lopez and an off-duty nurse helped him until paramedics arrived. The victim survived and was hospitalized." -- Jeff Ellis may just join Jimi Heselden, inventor of the Segway, as the worst enemy of his own company. Jimi Heselden, you ask...Heselden drove his personal Segway over a cliff to his own death.

Online headline: "Lawmaker Hospitalized After Choking" -- Oooops, my bad! Had visions of VpotUS Biden getting decked by potUS Arpege after Biden said he knew it was a tax all along.

---

Latest HuffPost projections now have state electoral votes down to 240 for potUS Arpege, that's about 50 less than HuffPost was crediting him for a month ago.

---

Online headline:m "Obama Bus Tour To Kick Off Thursday In Ohio, Pennsylvania" -- Hmmm, which bus.. the one he threw his grandmother under, or the one he had made in Canada?

Which MCSD Board memberes will be remembered as the stupidest.. the ones that rejected the seven principals nominated by outgoing superintendent Andrews, or the ones that will change their vote for the same seven principals re-nominated by interim superintendent Phillips?

---

Since Fox News hired Juan Williams after NPR fired him, Williams has become an Alan Colmes clone, and is no longer a good link between Conservative & Liberal views.
---
Online headline: "Obamas' Martha's Vineyard Vacation: First Family Forgoes Annual Retreat" -- Guess the owners wanted payment in gold rather than newly printed 'obamadollas'.
---
When it comes down to details, ALL government spending is taxation. What was Chief Justice Roberts thinking when he altered the HELL-thSCARE case in midstream?
---
Numerous cities canceled 4th of July fireworks displays because city coffers were empty. Would be willing to bet that those cities have DIM&DUMBERat Mayors.

L-E story: " It will never happen again. A century plant on Wynnton Road in Columbus has bloomed, its stalk shooting up about 25 feet into the air. Despite its name, the plant usually lives just 10-30 years and blooms only once. “It is always thrilling when it happens,” Columbus Botanical Gardens Director Norman Winter said of the blooming." -- Well, you better hurry up and go see it before GA Power Co makes a half-century plant.

Isaiah Crow-well probably isn't aware that if he gets drummed out of the NFL, there's only arena football left for him.

LOL... an internet acronym should become the National Motto for America...LOVE-it OR LEAVE-it.
---
L-E's "Quotable": “I don’t know whether war is an interlude during peace, or peace an interlude during war.” Georges Clemenceau French statesman (1841-1929) " -- Only the French are confused...maybe because they salute the enemy with both hands reaching for the sky.
---
Once again, the L-E has published a vitriolic anti-Bush, anti-personal responsibility letter written by Judy F(racking) Brouillette. treasurer of the local DIM&DUMBERats Party. Once again, the L-E leaves out this vital piece of information.
---
L-E story": "ATLANTA — Unemployed veterans may be heading back to school in mass under a federal program to get out-of-work veterans trained and back in the job market. " -- Excuse me, but what about all the specialty training our soldiers got on the job? Most of our vets have very good technical training already; is this something other than a redundant waste of tax dollars?
---
L-E story: "Associated Press ATLANTA — Georgia could lose $33 million of its $400 million Race to the Top school grant because of proposed changes to a new evaluation system for principals and teachers. * State officials are looking at scrapping evaluations of teachers by their kindergarten to second-grade students, arguing that ratings by children so young would likely be positive and not reliable. * They also want surveys by older students to be informational and to not count as 10 percent of a teacher’s formal evaluation." -- It's true! The inmates ARE running the asylum! It's just wrong to pay for a program of student evaluation of the system where popular mentors would get more student approval than the mentors that drive students to be the best they can be. This could lead to a teacher of an elective, say music, being chosen as the top teacher in the county over a teacher committed to mentoring students to excellence in some required core curriculum course. Wait, didn't that already happen here?
---
L-E headline/story: "Double amputee Pistorius set to run at Olympics * The “Blade Runner” will be competing in the London Olympics in his favored 400 meters, after all" -- Well, why not let wheel chair racers enter the Marathon, and snow machines enter the downhill events at the Winter Oylmpics?
