From the "Straight shooting department" -- In a discussion about whether all soldiers should carry guns at all times, this bit of insight and foresight emerged from a career military man: "They "liberals" (Clinton in the 90's and others) have made it so difficult for us to protect ourselves in uniform. Even licensed, we can't carry in our cars, offices or on our person when on military installations. Our Privately Owned Weapons (POW) can't be brought on post loaded, in arms reach, and have to be locked and separated from the ammo.

I don't think every Soldier should be armed on post. Sometimes the active shooter on post is in the same uniform. It makes identifying the threat difficult for military police. However, if you're licensed a carry conceal then you should have a choice (rank dependent). Set limits, but I'm tired of driving home or stopping to get gas unarmed." -- Too bad the "Commandant" in Chief want let the good guys feel safe.. whether on an American base, or on a scouting mission abroad and having to wait until the enemy fires before taking steps to defend himself.

Now, Hillewinsky's big economic plan is for private businesses to give minimally skilled wage earners a piece of the business profits. DOH! Aren't even minimum wages paid from anticipated, though not guaranteed, profits? I have a better idea..hey Hillewinsky, let's cut off all government departments that cannot operate within a revenue positive budget, and less taxes would need to be taken from businesses, and businesses would have more to pay higher wages.

I just heard one liberal spinmeister compare food stamps to social security checks in regards to testing for drugs before them being distributed. Huh? There's nothing about Social Security checks that should require drug testing..it was our money to begin with. On the other hand, food stamps come directly (read confiscated) from the taxpayers and we should get accountability when it's given away.

You know, the MCSD built new schools/classrooms in anticipation of BRAC bringing 1000's of new students into the system, but that didn't happen. By the Superintendents own admission, last year there were 127 classrooms that were not used.. that's 4-to-6 schools worth of idle classrooms... Now, faced with the downsizing of Benning, since we have all those unused classrooms, why will the MCSD go ahead with building a new, and unneeded Spencer High School?
