Online headline: "Creditors unsure if Greece 'deserves' more bailout help" -- "deserves more help"? Good grief.. of course Greece doesn't deserve any help to begin with.. it's not like Greece has been economically rocked by a surge on its world humanitarianism.. saying Greece has "earned" support is soata like saying Obamageddon deserved/earned the Nobel Peace prize.
---
Online headline: "NAACP lifts its 15-year boycott of South Carolina * A resolution has passed ending the organization's economic ban of the state after Friday's removal of the rebel flag from the Statehouse." -- "NAACP lifts its 15-year boycott"? Good grief... I do believe the analogies about the "flea walking up an elephants leg" or "The Mouse that Roared" pretty well describe the NAACP "boycott".. it sure didn't phase Boeing or Mercedes Benz from building there..
---
Online headline: "President Obama expected to make historic prison visit * The White House announced on Friday that Obama will tour El Reno Federal Correctional Institution in Oklahoma and meet with inmates." -- And for what purpose... searching for a post-White House residence or on a voter registration or apology tour?
---
You know.. I'm about peaked out of hearing about how many "non-violent drug users" are in our prison system...If they weren't there, they would be potential violent users out on the streets looking for their next "hit" and a way to steal to pay for it. Of course, if the DOJ did a better job of ridding the streets of drug dealers (say, as opposed to ignoring federal laws and letting states openly legalize retail sales stores), there wouldn't be recreational users looking for drugs.
---
Online "headlie": "Afghan officals: ISIS leader killed in drone strike * Authorities in Afghanistan said Saturday that recent airstrikes led by the United States may have been a major blow to the militant group. ( 'We have destroyed the base of ISIS' -- Good grief... ISIS is akin to the Greek mythology's "Hydra".. you cut off one head and two more grow back...
---
Ford Motors is conducting research on how to make streets safer for cars and bicycles to use in harmony.. "research"? How about "education"...most bicyclers are simply unaware that the same laws that apply to cars also apply to bicyclers... obeying those laws would be a major improvement in their safety. Of course, bicyclers don't pay for road maintenance so car drivers might appreciate bicyclers paying for their use as well in the form of licenses and taxes.

Online headline: "Iran's supreme leader slams US amid deadline" -- How embarrassing! This just demonstrates how the world perceives the strength and resolve of Obamageddon as a leader...
---
Online headline: "Clinton to deliver economic speech Monday, with tax policy at issue" -- Oooops, my bad.. thought we were going to get "the skinny" on the Clinton's Foundation donations and how much in taxes they've dodged..

Watching the Scottish Open on TV has focused how advertising has moved in on the purity of the game if golf. Maybe it's because Scotland is recognized as the "home of golf", but it's tiring to hear the announcers saying it's the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open rather than just the " Scottish Open".
---
Watching the Scottish Open is painful..Not only do the announcers have to start out by announcing the primary sponsor's name before mentioning the tournament name, there are actually "billboards" near the greens right in the cameras' line of sight. This is the prophecy of "a good walk in the park,,, spoiled". I wish the golfers would vote to cut the purse size in exchange for the tournament removing the advertising signs.
---
Over the years I've had different emotions about pro golfer Angel Jimenez. After that poor sportsmanship ploy he initiated on Keegan Bradley's caddy, now when I see him, I vacillate between wanting to cut off either his tongue or the ponytail .
---
Online story: "Clint Eastwood has shared his opinion on Donald Trump in a huge way. Not only does Eastwood support him, but he’s speaking on behalf of Trump in California, Arizona, and Nevada!" -- I think we can all feel assured there was no "empty chair" next to Clint this time..
---
You know..the "piling on" movement of organizations trying to distance themselves from Donald Trump are seemingly based on the political atmosphere of the moment..in reality, the cancellations are taking on a personal nature because no one who is informed is saying what he said is actually "wrong".. it's just not politically correct.. On the other hand, can you name a business that has achieved financial successes to equal Trump that were attained by political correctness?
---
L-E hgeadline: "Aflac’s Dan Amos to speak at inaugural Bob Wright Symposium" -- Hmmm.. Dan Amos must feel a little bit like a token guest.. a last minute attendee when some one finally noticed there was no "diversity" in the line-up of speakers.
---
Jonathan Gruber stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " I have voted for Republicans for over 50 years. If Donald Trump wins the GOP nomination, I will vote for Queen Hillary." -- Good grief.. whenever I see a "soundoff" about "being a Republican" and "voting for Hillary" in the same breath, I know it's just another lie from a Democrat. If the "soundoffer" had said he/she would stay home rathe than vote for either, I might have given the writer some credit.
---
Informed L-E "soundoff": " Leonard Pitts’ latest column in your newspaper was BS. Lowering one’s moral standards is not an example of “moral courage.” -- Amen!
---
L-E headline: "UNCHANGED? * Past mayors say Tomlinson hasn’t altered budget process" -- You know, if Mayor TomLYINGson just spoke the truth, she wouldn't need a consortium of ex-mayors to explain things.. Can you not envision Bill Clinton explaining the definition of "is"?
---
You know...it's easier for Democrats to campaign as they all have the same entitlement message, while Republicans beat each other up with claims that they have the best way to rein them in.

From the Columbus Council Agenda:
Purchases:
" BUS SHELTERS (ANNUAL CONTRACT): It is requested that council authorize the purchase of bus shelters from Brasco International Inc. (Madison Heights, Mich.). Metra has budgeted $50,000 for the purchase of bus shelters per year. Metra anticipates purchasing 10 each and five bus shelters per year." -- Wait a minute,,, those "bus shelters cost between $5,000-$10,000 each? Good grief.. I'll be that those could be a work project for the jail system to train prisoners for a job skill for next to almost nothing in costs!
SECURE SHREDDING SERVICES: It is requested that council authorize the execution of an annual contract with River Mill Data Management, LLC (Columbus) for secure shredding services, on an as needed basis. * River Mill Data Management, LLC will provide “Secure Shredding Services” for the collection and shredding of paper and other media containing confidential or personal information." -- Whoa! Hold your horses! First, who is disseminating what is being "shedded".. remember Hillewinsky and IRS e-mail "shredding", and second.. why not just use the shredders at Columbus Regional like former Mayor Martin unceremoniously did when he left office?
---
L-E editorial: "Of course poverty is an obstacle to education. Of course it is, the smug “no excuses” mantra of public school-bashing politicians notwithstanding. The notion that with competent teaching a poor child from an environment of sensory and intellectual deprivation and educational barrenness should achieve at essentially the same level and pace as an affluent, literacy-immersed counterpart has never been anything but a class-action insult. * Does that mean a poor child absolutely cannot perform at the highest educational levels? Of course not. There are too many inspiring success stories of people who have overcome high and humbling obstacles to do just that" -- "does it mean that a poor child absolutely cannot perform at the highest educational levels? Of course not"? - Of course not, but...BUT should the successful poor student become a Republican when he/she grows up, and tries to be a role model for other poor children, mainscream media will ignore him/her or make an excuse that he/she doesn't count.

Jordan Spieth is such a breath of fresh air.. watching him shoot a 10-under-par 61 yesterday to take the lead at the John Deere tournament (especially when no one would have faulted him for bypassing it and going to Scotland) was phenominal. His eagle on the 17th sorta sums up why the 22 year old has become so endearing to the public.. He holed out a wedge shot for a 3 of the Par 5 hole, then acted sheepishly about doing so.. unlike the NBA, MIB or NFL, humility is still a trait in big time golf.
